Fei Bai Ho

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

After such a victorious battle, Fei Bai Ho was glad that he could finally rest after such an intense fight to the death with a dragon. He had never fought a dragon before, but when his master taught him about them, he couldn't wait to just fight one already. Defeating a dragon is a warrior's true test of strength that Fei had always strived for. Fei could only dream merrily knowing the dragon they defeated won’t be getting back up to hurt them. The group has done an exceptional job of working together and Fei couldn’t help but feel glad that he met them. Maybe now he’ll finally get that meal he so desperately has been craving since the start of their interaction. Nothing beats a delicious meal right after a hard fought battle.

While Fei Bai Ho was unconscious, he could feel a very pleasant tingling on the wounds and bruises he had amassed while in battle with the dragon. They wouldn't be completely healed but at least the excruciating pain would subside and he could finally rest in peace knowing the group will probably treat him well. Adventurers are usually very selfish from Fei's experience, but these guys were well organized and calm when fighting the dragon. Common adventurers tend to be weak as well, but the people he had just fought with seem to be the types to hold their own in fights making them interesting enough to follow. He doesn't have much of a purpose at the moment since he was only going to the meteor out of curiosity and what felt like fate pulling him towards it.

He could still feel the pain from the fight as well as all the different things that were mixed in his body such as the energy tonic and the gas that was thrown earlier. Cultivating somewhere in rich energy would probably be his next course of action so that he can circulate the different mixtures out of his body as soon as possible. There was also no time to rest as his instincts were starting to feel the presence of yet another more powerful creature than before approaching the group of adventurers. This feeling caused him to fidget a bit as he tried to force himself to wake up so that he could respond and not just sit around unconscious. His eyes began to flicker open but he was still only half asleep, barely awake enough to see and hear their current situation. It seemed like an older dragon had arrived and it doesn't seem like it will like the idea that another one of their own is laying not too far dead.

Fei's vision was still blurry and his hearing was still impaired, but he could just make out the new group that had arrived speaking in a somewhat familiar language. He didn't speak much Pataliputran, only enough to get around from place to place and complete a couple requests here and there. There was never a point in Fei's life where he enjoyed learning, except martial arts, he'd spend vast amounts of time doing that. So he just continued to stay somewhat unconscious since nobody was fighting. It appears that the other group is just looking to talk so he decided to close his eyes and rest a bit more. He might be able to wake up but Fei's sure that the group can handle the diplomacy, he'll just continue to snooze until something importa...

When Catherine mentioned food, Fei immediately jumped up suddenly with stars dazzling in his eyes and his stomach roaring for its prey. He didn't think about the possibility of eating the dragon they had just defeated, now he won't be able to get it out of his head until he tries it. Dragon meat sounded delicious, Fei has always been able to eat just about anything he could get his hands on. His body was still hurting especially from suddenly moving around after just being healed but he must get his hands on dragon meat. There was no telling when he would be able to have such an experience again so of course he wouldn't miss it for the world. They worked hard so they deserved at least that much, not even the other dragon will keep him from getting hands on that mysterious meat.

"Dragon tail steak sounds delicious, in fact I think we should cook it right away," Fei said excitedly! He quickly looked around and didn't see the huge dragon that was around earlier, not realizing that it had turned into its human form. Fei looked at the woman who was able to turn into a dragon and couldn't help but feel an uneasy and heavy pressure coming from her. He ignored the feeling since she was here with the group of strangers that looked funny and came up with an idea. They also seem to speak a different language so he can't really introduce himself so he turns back towards Srikandi and her group.

"Go ahead and tell them that I am Fei Bai Ho, greatest martial artist alive," Fei says gallantly hiding the pain he was feeling within himself behind a smile.

"There is also the matter that you guys did an amazing job with that dragon earlier and I'm grateful for the assistance and healing," said Fei while bowing his head towards everybody in the group. Fighting dragons is no easy feat, only hearing about it on occasion in taverns he would visit for homemade cooked meals.

"Also, let's get started with that dragon steak, I've got impurities in my body that I need to circulate out of my body and cultivating is best with a full stomach," Fei said happily while stretching his arms, "We even got new friends here with us too."
He had just noticed the fairy joining them and everyone else was looking anxious as Catherine went on and on questioning the new group of strangers.

"HA HA HA, it seems quite lively here," Fei says laughing out loud at the situation they were currently in.

After the kick Fei had just delivered to the dragon, it didn’t take long for the dragon to recuperate as he began his attack on Fei. Fei had barely been watching the dragon as it swiped at him quickly, he couldn’t even react fast enough to doge it. It had swiped his legs away causing him to lose his balance completely while Fei watched helplessly. He didn’t even touch the ground before the dragon swung its tail once again, hitting him directly in the chest. The impact caused him to fly into the mountain pass causing a human shaped crater as he crashed the rocky surface. He laid there as rocks nearby fell on ontop of him, thinking that he has never been pushed into such a situation like this before.

His recklessness and stubbornness has yet again put him in a situation that could lead to his demise. He still had energy coursing through his body from the tonic he drank and the gas thrown earlier was finally starting to take some effect as he struggles to keep his eyes open. Despite all events, he still smiled as he tried to catch his breath thinking that things could not just end like this. All he could do for the moment was watch as the dragon completely ignored him to fight the rest of the party of adventures.

The dragon had shot a huge beam of lightning at the party but it was for nothing as it was blocked by a ward. It seemed to anger the dragon as it tried to break their protection only to get cut up by the leader of the party with her shiny sword. Fei had never seen a blade like that before, especially where he’s from because there are many good sword smiths in his country. Then the woman who gave him the energy tonic throws yet another bottle of strange liquid as it explodes on the dragon’s face.

Seeing this party fight for their lives against the dragon had inspired him and he could help but feel like he was missing out on the fun. He slowly began to prompt himself out of his carter as he slowly got into his Suju fighting stance. The pain was drowning him as he moved by the inch but Fei ignored it as his excitement began to overflow. He couldn’t let everybody else have all the fun to themselves, he had to do something to end the fight now. He also couldn’t help but be a little annoyed that the dragon thought that a simple tail attack could keep him down. The flames within him began to burst out again as Fei forced it to come back. The black silhouette slowly covers him as he prepares one final attack on the dragon who has been stunned by the explosion. There was no better time than now since it won't take long before the dragon begins his onslaught again.

“I never really used this form more than once but now is not the time to hesitate…” Fei said to himself. He planned to use everything else he had left in him with a flashy move. Fei then screamed as he jumped through the air towards the dragon with his feet kicking in a wheel motion. The dragon couldn’t help but turn towards Fei as it had heard him screaming while trying to recuperate from the explosion to its head. Fei’ kicks began to connect as kicks got delivered to the dragon’s chest, pushing it back as each kick landed. His kicks began to push the dragon backwards as Fei was trying to push it far enough so the injury it received from the sword would present itself to Fei. The dragon struggled to keep itself from being pushed backwards but the force was just enough to keep it from getting control again. The dragon was then finally kicked into the side of a mountain just like it had sent fei flying into one. It laid against the mountain as Fei jumped back to get more momentum for his final finishing move. The injury was in clear view and Fei shot towards it with his fist bursting with flames almost resembling a dragon. He screamed, “DRAGON FIST,” as his fist connected with the injury, causing it to enter the dragon and finally doing some damage against the dragon. All that could be seen was a huge flash of heat as the dragon roared in immense pain.

Fei jumps away from the dragon and simply raises his arms in triumph and screams at the top of his lungs. He had finally fought a dragon and couldn’t help but feel relieved as the fight was now over. He stood there and slowly closed his eyes in exhaustion and yet his body did not fall so as to respect his opponent in battle. Silently bowing towards the defeated dragon, Fei whispered his respects and finally fell over to take a well deserved nap.

As Fei was talking to the group of adventurers, Fei finally felt the presence of something he has never felt before. The woman who seems to be the leader, had just warned them of the impending danger of a dragon rushing over to them. But, there was no time to react as the dragon gave them no time to do anything, even Fei was surprised at how fast this beast was. He has never seen a dragon but has heard of their kind being ferocious, prideful, and arrogant. The roar of the beast brought goose bumps up Fei’s arms as he carefully examined it for any openings. It has become a habit of his to always search for openings no matter the situation or opponent. Even with the appearance of the dragon, Fei did not fret nor was he nervous or scared, he was excited that a new challenger had appeared before him. The dragon had also brought a snowstorm with it as it fell on everyone, annoying the martial artist who was in the middle of a conversation.

The dragon had said something to them but Fei doesn't really care at this point so he ignores it and starts thinking about how he'll fight this thing. It stands not that far away beaming the small party with its big eyes. His plan was to charge the dragon and hit it with everything he’s got left as he still had energy flowing through him. It was looking like he might actually pass out soon from exhaustion but now was not the time for that.

Fei looked at the dragon more seriously than he did the kobolds earlier and said aloud, “First it was kobolds and now it’s a dragon, must be my lucky day.”

Fei assumes his Suju fighting stance and continues to say aloud, “Sorry everyone, but everything in me is telling me to kick this beast right in the face.”

Then a woman stepped closer to the dragon as she accidentally drops a potion near it and suddenly turns to the group tapping her nose. Fei didn’t know what was going on, but he did smell the aroma that the liquid was giving off. Still, Fei was getting ready to attack the dragon so maybe the mysterious gas will distract it a bit from Fei’s charge.

Fei then begins to tap into his inner power, that usually remains hidden inside himself, as flames spread all throughout his body as well as a black silhouette begins to envelope his body. His eyes begin to glow red as Fei struggles to control the new form he has little experience using. He doesn’t like to use this form simply because it can only be used once before he collapses from using an overwhelming amount of power. It’s taxing on the body and Fei tends to use it only when absolutely necessary since he wants to master this form one day.

Fei then turned his head so he could talk to the party and said, “Alright, I’ve never fought a dragon before but it should definitely be fun, I'm gonna lay him out on the ground, you guys do whatever you want.”

Fei then recklessly charges forward with tremendous speed and kicks the ground, launching himself above the dragon. He then begins to spin in a wheel as he generates speed, falling towards the dragon in hopes to smash him into the ground. Fei doesn’t know if this attack will hurt the beast but it’ll keep it from flying off so that it wouldn't have an advantage. Fei aims for the head, hoping that the momentum from falling and spinning will be enough force to incapacitate it for a bit. The kick then lands on top of the dragon’s head with a loud TWACK, smashing it against the ground causing the ground underneath to crack from the force of the kick.

Fei then quickly jumps off and lands not too far away as he struggles to maintain his balance, falling to one knee. He watches the dragon to see what it will do next.

After Fei's initial attack on the red kobold, he realized that he was still extremely fatigued from swimming all the way here. He has been in the worst situations and at least he wasn't alone this time around so he wouldn't have to worry about an enemy coming up from behind. When Fei is in a fight he never backs down no matter the conditions, but he would prefer to fight on a full stomach. During the fight with the kobolds, a woman throws him a bottle that was supposed to help with his fatigue, but he had never seen anything like this before.

Upon opening it, Fei would notice that along with the strange, bitter scent that was hard to properly identify, there were subtle notes of herbs and spices. The scent alone entered his nose with a burning sensation, almost as if forcing his mind to think clearer. Whatever that was, it was several times stronger than even the strongest 'tonic' that was usually sold by apothecaries. While it would definitely wake him up, he could feel only by smelling it that it would definitely have quite a punch to it. It would be smart to be careful when consuming it... but he didn't have the time to drink it slowly plus it smells nice he thought.

Once Fei had drunk the whole bottle intrepidly, he felt energy coursing through the blood in his veins as the liquid worked its magic in his body. The taste was very strong and bitter which caused him to gag, but he quickly composed himself since he was in the middle of a fight. He should have definitely followed the woman's advice because he has never felt energy like this before; it was making him really hyper as his body began to shake. He decided to try and expel as much of this energy as he could by using various techniques on the kobolds who ran to protect their leader. Everybody else was doing exceptionally well with their share of enemies making the red kobold very nervous. The red kobold ordered a retreat out of fear and whatever kobold that was left had soon disappeared with their leader. Fei relaxed a bit but was still shaking visibly from the substance he had consumed during the fight with the kobolds.

Fei turned to the group and said, "Well I'm not hurt but it was great fighting with you guys. It might be a good idea to camp since it'll be dark soon. I also seem to be shaky from whatever I just drank."

Fei put a hand on his head and said abashedly, "To tell y'all the truth I'm actually kind of lost and you guys look like good company so I hope you don't mind if I traveled with y'all for a bit."

His stomach growled again reminding him that he still needs food for all the energy he has spent that day and the martial dao requires a lot of energy to practice. He eats five times of a normal human being just because of the energy his body requires to keep up with his training.

"I'm also still famished so I hope you guys got food you don't mind sharing," he says with a beaming smile.

As the little girl offered Fei the fresh water he so desperately needed, he couldn’t help but smile brightly for this little group of adventurers. Kindness is hard to come by in this kind of world where everyone just kind of looks out for themselves. Of course, Fei himself was a bit selfish at times but he could never turn down anyone in need of some help. Just like how his master saved him long ago, Fei can only hope to reciprocate that same feeling to others no matter their background. Then there’s always that voice in the back of his head telling him to keep moving forward, let nothing hold you back from being yourself.

Fei finally looks up at the short little girl while still on his knees and says, “Thanks friend!” He grabs the bottle of water and practically downs it in one gulp.

With the water he drank, he managed to gain back a little bit of strength which excites him as he can finally move around more freely. He was still hungry but he shouldn’t have anything to complain about since they gave him what they could. Fei was satisfied with that but then he got to thinking that maybe he was meant to be here with these people. They had to be also trying to investigate the sun that fell from the heavens. Fate had brought these people to Fei in his time of need so maybe he should follow them… totally not because he’s lost. They definitely seemed smarter than him so he’ll just go with flow and follow these guys to wherever they’re headed.

Fei finally stands up, rejuvenated a bit from the water he swallowed and looks at the rest of the group of adventurers. He carefully examined each person now that he has a closer look to get a feel from these people and instantly got that same tingling sensation. The sensation that tells him that some of these guys are strong and he can’t help but fight strong people. But they did help him out so he’ll just save that moment for later. For now, he’ll just go along with them since he was taught to show gratitude to those who help others from his master.

He thought carefully about what he’ll say next and with the smile he still had he said to the group, “Sorry if I scared any of you guys, I was extremely thirsty and hungry but the water should suffice for now, I would like to get to know y’all better…”

Suddenly the group of adventurers were surrounded by scaly short lizard creatures, which Fei has fought before from previous adventures. He guessed he was too hungry to notice their presence before but now it looks like they intended to rob this little group. He then noticed the red lizard looking creature and realized he’d never seen one with a different color before. Fei loves uneven fights because it makes the fight more interesting and it gives him more experience against multiple opponents.

“Looks like we got company and the best kind at that,” exclaims Fei as he gets ready into the Suju fighting stance.

Fei then yells to the red kobold, “You’re just gonna kill us anyways so I don’t think I’m going to hand over anything, besides… I’m flat broke!”

Fei turns his head slightly so the rest of the group can hear him a bit better and says, “I may not have much energy left but I call the red one… y'all can handle the rest.”

He then screams, “Flame Tornado Kick,” as his leg suddenly bursts into FLAMES and Fei jumps toward the leader of the Kobold pack. As Fei is spinning towards the leader looking like a fire tornado, his flaming leg kicks the guards, who suddenly jumped in front of their leader to protect him, away and gives the leader the final kick of this skill. All the red kobold could do was block the kick with the shield it had on his left arm. The kick was powerful enough to audibly crack the kobold's arm and yet that didn’t stop the kobold from pushing Fei off of him and jumps backward to distance himself. Fei returns back into the Suju fighting stance as he lands from the kobold's push.

This one is definitely different from other kobolds, thought Fei in his head as he continues to stare at the red kobold still smiling, what shall I do now. He could definitely feel the exhaustion taking over as his vision starts to get blurry.

Fei had journeyed wherever the wind would take him since he didn't really have much sense of direction nor did he know how to read maps. Luckily for him, it caused him to meet a plethora of strong opponents as well as some friends along the way. He constantly sought out opponents that were stronger than him and continued to win every fight. There was not much else to do except completing random requests people asked him to do. Fate was something Fei believed in and he thought that if he simply went with the flow then eventually it’ll take him where he needs to be. Before leaving Putonghua, Fei met a stranger that charged him all of his money so that he could be entered in a grand tournament with the reward being title for strongest human of the world. The stranger then told Fei that they would need to sail on a boat to get to Pataliputra where the supposed tournament will be held. Little did he know that he had gotten scammed and Fei was smuggled into the Kingdom of Pataliputra. What’s worse is that there was no grand tournament and every person he met was confused from his endless questioning. He had never seen the smuggler since the day he arrived but Fei didn’t really care, maybe there was something here for him.

Fei traveled all over Pataliputra and went from adventure to adventure without a care in the world. He didn’t care much for civilization since he had learned how to survive off the land rather than waste what little money he had. The most he would spend on would be food since training and fighting everyday builds up quite the appetite. Then there he was, sound asleep up in a tree in a forest not too far from the city of Cendana when something unbelievable happened. A giant meteor was falling from the heavens shining brightly as if it were the sun itself into the ominous mountains. Fei’s gut was telling him that this was his destiny, fate had shown him something that could only be believed in a fairytale. The next day, the city of Cendana became a bustling town as people from all over came with all kinds of purposes. Fei was in the middle of a request a child made of him in which he was looking for his missing dog. While everyone was recruiting and getting ready to go to the mountains, he was stuck looking for the doge. Eventually he ended up finding it and quickly made his way to the guild house where it now remains empty of life except for the staff. Fei points to one of the guild’s staff who was mindlessly sweeping the hall,

Fei points to one of the guild’s staff girls who was mindlessly sweeping the hall,“Hey, what happened to all those people that were coming into town recently.”

“Huh… oh uhhh…” said the guild staff member as they turned to talk to Fei, “Yeah they all left toward the mountains, there should be a ship leav…”

Before she could even finish her sentence, Fei had already taken off towards the mountains to see if he could make it there on time with everyone else. He ran with swiftness as he made his way towards the port where the ship that would take everyone to the mountains. He definitely wasn’t listening to the lady at the lady at the guild because he took one look at the ship and another at the mountains. It was this moment, Fei would think that everyone was already at the mountains fighting creatures he probably hasn't even seen before. Waiting for this ship to embark would probably take too long so he decided he’d rather swim.

“I don’t really like getting wet, buuuuut I can definitely get there before this slow ship can,” exclaimed Fei as he got in a divers position, “This’ll just be another day of training for me!”

He jumped as far as he could toward the water and screamed, “this is totally a great ideaaaaaa!”

*~~SPLASH~~*

With everything he had, Fei has started to swim freestyle towards the mountain expeditiously, you would think he was fish. It wasn’t until an hour passed when Fei soon noticed that the current was against him. It was not a normal current either, the force of the water crashing onto him caused him to remember the time he had to carry boulders up and down the mountains back home. Maybe he had bitten off more than he could chew, but this river was most definitely not going to hold him back.

His whole body was in constant pain but Fei just kept smiling as he yelled, “Is this all you got!”

He continued on for hours until he finally arrived on solid land where he could finally rest and let his clothes dry.

“Yeah…,” Fei said as he laid out on the ground breathing rather harshly, “Definitely WASN’T a good idea.”

He didn’t rest long as he got up and decided to explore his surroundings a bit, which had turned out to be a bad idea. The river was no longer in sight and he had forgotten how to get back and he still hasn’t seen a single living thing out there. His endless wandering had gotten him nowhere as he desperately searched for anything tasty to eat. All that swimming had expended much of his stamina and it was starting to run out. Fei’s stomach had started to growl loudly as he walked through bushes in hopes of maybe finding some edible berries.

As the sun was beginning to say goodbye, Fei had finally found some hope. It looked like a group of adventurers who had probably come for the same reason he did. Maybe they had some food and water he could get that could finally give him the strength to keep going. He eyed them carefully from a bush not too far away because he didn’t really want to get into a huge conflict with them. They didn’t seem so bad but he could definitely feel that these people weren’t just the average adventurer. He just needed sustenance, anything, he might even beg if it came down to it. He was so down bad that he didn’t even notice that he wasn’t the only one eyeing these adventurers.

Then suddenly, his stomach had growled louder than he had ever heard it before, sounding very similar to that of a tiger ready to pounce on its prey.

He finally decides to jump out in front of them and with a serious face he said, “Hello fellow travelers, I am Fei Bai Ho, greatest martial artist this world will ever see and I have only one question for you all.”

He looks them in the eye and practically throws his head into the ground as he kneels in front of all of them and yells, “Please, I need food and water desperately, you guys are the only living things I have seen all day, I’ll definitely pay you guys back you have no worries there I personally guarantee it!”
