"Gods! What is it?" one of the travelers screamed at the sight of the creature.
"Quiet, my brother." The other responded.
The Ferream approached the hunters and grabbed a stick off the ground. They proceeded to draw pictures on the ground in a attempt to communicate while the other two sat back prepared to defend in the case that the creatures are violent.
"Where do you come from?"

"Forward, my travelers, to the north!" Mr. Death screamed as a group of Ferream gathered supplies.
The travelers had created an interest in the outside world across the Settlement. And this was followed up by the Minister's sight of possible economic benefits and the Choir's belief that this was the will of the Gods. The Ferream were ordered to march towards the north, and follow the river. The four travelers stood up through the crowd and saluted to Mr. Death and repeated the chant of the Choir.
"To Oxameter, who marches to the beat of time. To Cthugha, who marches with clinking coin. To Tzeench, who shall never move across the plains of The Society."
Across the morning Dunes, the travelers marched north.

Twas a new morning, and the crowd sat around Mr. Marsh in silence. The citizens, confused by the strange visitors and shocked about what happened, were eager to hear the words of their brilliant prophet. He sat on his podium with the dark robes shading head.

"Ode to you, my gentlemen, my friends, my comrades. Ode to you. Tis my greatest regret to see you on this day. We have forgotten."

The crowd bolted backwards in confusion. Never before has Mr. Marsh been so harsh against them.

"We have forgotten of Oxameter the Walker, lord of the Illis, who marches on his eternal path. I am deeply saddened to speak this, however my job is to speak the truth of the gods and this is the truth. It is no secret of the meeting with the strange masked creatures, and our trade with them. This trade.... was an abomination in the eyes of Oxameter, in the eyes of Cthugha, and in the eyes of Tzeentch. O, my brethren, we mustn't trade the Illis, for they are the gifts of the gods. We have a multitude if materials that are ours, yet the Illis, they are not our's to trade. They are the children of Oxameter, and he wishes that they should belong to us. And to us they shall remain. The masked things have their slaves, and if they ever return, we shall trade once again. But never again will we rid ourselves of the Illis, or any other creature of the gods that lives in our Society. In order to push this, I declare that this is now the era of Oxameter, and with this may the gods forgive us."

The Crowd applauded and cheered as Mr. Marshes's fellow ministers looked at each other concerned about their planned business opportunities.

(OOC: Slave trade is being disputed by ministers)

Uhh, sorry, it seems I accidentally posted an extra one of these and I can't seem to find any type of way to entirely delete a post. So, yeah, I guess this is just going to sit here as a testament to my incompetence. Quite unfortunate.

I am not a part of the lands in questioned owned by Shoggothought, yet I could imagine them being able to note: "This is the land of The Society." and "I am of The Society."

A manner of phrasing differently, would they even say such a thing that way.

Apologies if I insult. Also, one is glad you have returned, Mango Juice.

Our civilization is known just as The Society, and people that live here are known as The Civilians. The major city of The Society is known as the Settlement. An adjective to describe something relating to The Society is Societal. Utilitarian to the bloody extreme :)

It took a while for the Polypodises to fully discuss the topic, as half of them believed the Illis were a gift from the gods and thus do not have any value. Eventually, they decided to bring out three of the Ferream, who decided that a Illis is worth what it gathers, (wood, stone, etc) and thus they decided to see what the creatures had on them. The Ferream decided that the "Bloodwood" was of equal value to a Illis. A trade of a Illis for the strangely colored wood would be fair. And they proceeded to draw the offer in the sands.

The tired Illis walked slowly across the river bank, carrying a basket of gathered fruits and assorted vegetables when he noticed the strange creatures in their canoe. The humanoid creatures looked curiously through their oblong masks. The Illis, mistaking them for other slaves, motioned for them to follow. The creatures exited the boat and nervously followed him, and in the process made several failed attempts to communicate. For a day they traveled with the creature, in hopes of finding civilization. The Illis led them to the Society's main town, where they wandered confused.
"March forward" Mr. Marsh screamed at a large crowd. "That is what Oxameter has taught us. Never stop. Continue marching on, and perhaps, you shall meet that miracle the gods owe us."
The creatures cautiously walked towards the crowd.
"Never forget, my friends, that glory and miracles we shall meet in our future and th-"
Mr. Marsh looked down and noticed the terrified creatures.
"A miracle! The gods have sent us visitors! Look forth, my brethren."
The creatures were unable to communicate verbally however a form of communication was made through drawing pictures on the sands.

Name of Race: Polypodis Homines (Polypodises)
Pic/Description:

(subtract the evil looking apparel)
The Polypodises are a race of humanoid squid-like creature with a head resembling a squid and a humanoid body. These creatures often wear elaborate clothing which are used to show their administrative function. The color of these creatures vary, however typically they are purple or orange.
Racial Characteristics (things specific to the race): The Polypodis Homines is the administrative caste of the Society (the name of the races coalition) and thus they are responsible for all political and economic happenings in the Society (which obviously at the moment is virtually limited to basic tribal disputes, trade, and government). They are the most wealthy class in the Society and are known for their skills regarding political intrigue and leadership. Polypodises also are able to survive underwater and are able to travel fairly quickly through the water. This being said, most Polypodises find it very difficult to travel very fast on the surface.
Race Bio (personality, etc.):Polypodises are generally quite similar to humans. Typically, Polypodises are quite diplomatic and polite, however, they also show very greedy, selfish, and deceptive behavior.Typically, they will betray each other to gain political power if given the chance. The Polypodises caste is split up into three subsections including: The political sector, which assists in everywhere from diplomacy to a feudal political system. There is also the Choir, which is the religious administration who manage religious affairs and perform sacrifices for the Polypodises's patron god Cthugha. Lastly, there is the feudal caste, which is made up of merchants that manage properties.

Techs (specifically those not already given): Very primitive form of politics and diplomacy, trade
Leadership of the Society: The Society is led by a council of Polypodises (with the exception of Mr. Thought, who is Ferream) that manage their own sectors and subjects. The members of the council are:
Mr. Apple- Food distribution and gathering
Mr. Exchange- Trade and feudal merchants
Mr. Death- War and labor
Mr. Thought- Research and philosophy
Mr. Marsh- The Choir and religious affairs
Mr. Consul- The absolute leader of the Society

Name of Race: The Ferream
Pic/Description:
(Closest I could find)
The Ferream are a species of semi-humanoid creatures known for their extremely odd facial appearance that looks as if it is one wearing a bird-mask. The Ferream are also very well known for their very strange anatomy. They also display the incredibly odd ability to twist their neck 360 degrees. The Ferream According to the Choir, descended from trees which is evidenced by the strange similarities between their flesh and wood.
Racial Characteristics (things specific to the race): The Ferream belong to the Artisan class and act as the scientists, entertainers, philosophers, and soldiers of the Society.
Race Bio (personality, etc.): The Ferream are extremely violent and unsympathetic creatures. They display little to no emotional responses to suffering and their behavior reflects the idea that they are indeed incapable of pity. Despite this, the Ferream have a significant drive for knowledge, making them fantastic scientists and philosophers. They also make good entertainers, due to their lack of any emotional attachment to even themselves allowing for picture perfect acting (which really doesn't matter until theater is developed.)

Name of Race: The Illis
Pic/Description:
The Illis are a race of disfigured creatures that are almost genetically identical to humans. Due to their extraordinary disfigurement, they are forced to wear large painted wooden spheres over their head.
Racial Characteristics (things specific to the race): The Illis, unlike the other races, has no practical usage outside basic tasks such as hard labor tasks. As previously mentioned, the Illis are forced to cover their heads as their facial disfigurement displeases their overlords.
Race Bio (personality, etc.): The Illis are an unfortunate species, lacking both the capacity to think or feel. They are given tasks to do by their overlords and they attempt to perform said action. They are unable to think beyond basic instruction, and have little to no emotional reaction to anything. The Illis are not capable of such things. In the mind of one of the Illis, all that exists is survival and instruction.

The cruel sun shimmered across the endless dunes of sand revealing the strange village. It sits below a large dune and protrudes out of the desert sands like a corpse in an ill-made grave. Strange monoliths stood up above the mud-brick homes on their dunes. Vile and filthy slaves bearing spherical masks crawled out of their dens by their cruel master's demand. Corpses of rotting animals plagued the place as the equally strange inhabitants wandered out of their homes and met at town center to share a meal with one another. Twas the morning and the endless desert sands began to take a strange pinkish color. The ministers and men of state sat above discussing important matters of their government and society while screams and laughter rang about below them. Oh what an odd sight it was. And suddenly, silence. The town became silent as Mr. Marsh sat upon the tall podium once again. "Joy" he screamed "Joy and ecstasy, my friends. Our time has come. Our time to rule this world and all others! No more shall we sit content on our little piece of desert. No more shall we sit idle while there is a land to explore, and perhaps, even conquer. So, my comrades, embrace your hunger, your lust, your desire. This world is ours for the taking!"
The crowd rang out in screams and chants. It was an odd sight indeed.
Alright, fixed my map placement.
