@Shoryu Also, you should post that map somewhere that's easy for everyone to look at.

@RangingWolf Looking at the map, it seems Escotto is closest to your character. So, prepare for shenanigans!

skating through the ever-free, now that's impressive! XD
that's about what I felt about it XD I just figured i'd check opinions ^.^
[Just introducing the other two ;3 ]

The Changeling Crew

As far as they were concerned, it had just been another day in the 'wonderful' land of Equestria, with their ship cloaked over the air-space of the Ever-free where almost no-pony would ever go, especially with the unruly weather that they couldn't control and the ambient critters that populated the forest floor. It was the perfect temporary base of operations they could use to skim off the ambient emotions of the local town without them actually knowing.

Of course, they kept eyes on the giant colt stomping around off in the distance... They weren't particularly keen on his presence, he tended to taint the emotional pool with fear, worry, and sometimes... other emotions. Whether he did things that would sic the princesses on him or not, he was a nuisance to their harvesting quality. Of course, this was less of a problem at the moment, being that most pony's were asleep around this time, and they had retired to their ship to minimize risks for the night as well...

That didn't last long though, as something happened they were certain would wake every pony all the way to the capital!

Great masses of fear, Panick, and metal fell from the sky, shaking the landscape harder than the giant brat ever could, filling the night air with waves of dust and detritus, creating explosions and crashes the likes of which the nation hadn't seen since... The last time someone blew up Twilight's Library.

The fact they didn't 'need' to breath didn't make it any more pleasant for the air to be filled with dust, dirt, and flakes of wood... in-fact, it was terribly unpleasant, but lucky for them, they could simply raise the ship to a higher point to get above the cloud and take in the sight... The Ever-free had gained several new land-marks, they were quite distant, but they were quickly becoming more visible as the upper layer of dust drifted lower, most of them were in-fact much larger than the giant they'd been annoyed by, and though it undoubtedly woke everyone for miles, they counted themselves lucky they were near ponyville when this happened... Heavens, with how often that town was attacked by 'something', it should be no surprise they weren't drowning in blind panic... yet.

The Responders

The room was already in a fuss when it was graced with one of Equestria's darker beauties, come to make the call official, it appeared that someone had beat her to it... or perhaps.

"Princess! It was hard to miss what happened, even at this distance." None of them had stopped to waste time saluting or bowing, but the one that spoke was among the larger, and already nearly done suiting up. "We started preparations just short of Sixty Seconds ago, I assume you're here to send us out 'officially'?"

Her sister may not have liked the idea of a more 'war-ready' partition of their forces when they were technically at peace for centuries, even though she somehow doesn't count the repeated instances of invasion or evils raising tartarus on their land before being quelled, but 'she' was always proud of their efficiency and success at proving their worth... and certainly 'not' just because it gave her 'I was right' ammo with her sister, certainly not! "You are correct, Standard procedure as usual... though it does seem this event could be more demanding than your past endeavors."

"Azure mentioned something big fell from the sky... although, he worded it a bit more like 'The star-babies have come'." Mad giggling came from somewhere amidst the bundle of activity. "Are we thinking 'worst case'?"

"Close, but not quite, All accounts thus far sound like crashing instead of landing. I am going to wake my sister shortly, now that reactions are organized, Once you have recon'ed the site, we will know if we must step in or not."

"Alpha Leader! All prepared and accounted for." Almost as one the activity ceased, and the crew had lined up to await orders, with a smooth sharpness that always reminded her of militaries of old.

"Welp! No time to waste then! See you soon princess!" And like that they were filing out the window... It was an excessively casual fare-well, but the meaning was always clear and remarkably simple, a promise to return successfully, he never started a mission sounding like he expected death or injury, only return and success.

In the middle of the night no-one could really see the smokey trails of a team of fliers making off with the kind of speed that would disrupt weather patterns and create those trails.

I've quite enjoyed reading everyone's posts so far :D something did come to mind though.

What does everyone think in terms of posting orders? should we worry about it? or let things simply flow as they will? I like to think we can all get a feel for a good time to make the next post, or when they've got enough to post to, or simply to post to progress a lonelier scene.

I'm not planning to enforce a posting order myself, My usual rule of thumb is wait until a couple of others have posted, or specifically those you're interacting with [or 2 or 3 of them if you're interacting with a lot at once], or 24 hours. I've always found that Stricter orders tend to strain the life of an RP, especially if someone takes longer than others are comfortable waiting for. Not to mention a more authentic experience wouldn't discount that things aren't so strict and organized in real life.

Curious to hear other opinions ^.^
Damn, now I feel the need to create another character but I don't think I should.

Like What? XD
<Snipped quote by thedman>

I see, well that will be easy. My character's a rambunctious kid so probably he would just be exploring out of sheer boredom.

yeah, you can pretty much make up whatever reason to be there XD... though, 'nothing interesting'? XD There's ships falling out of the sky around the forest XD unless you're not in the ever-free, then it makes a bit more sense.
@Shoryu Well, you weren't wrong in the fact that the UED ship is the biggest one there is. So, I took the mountainous spot anyways.

S'all good! though I hate when I mix things up like this XD It shall work out well enough way!... also, after playing starcraft 2, I can't help but picture any space marines involved in a crash or warp event like Tychus during the Hyperion's first warp in the game XD
@Shoryu but @thedman is the UED, My guys are from mass effect.

@Shoryu Sounds good to me! I'll start working on a post.

oh crap! Sorry about that! XD I was kinda half-way into a pizza coma earlier, heheheh. Those positions could be interchangeable for either of you though XD so I can work with both combinations... I feel silly now.

@Shoryu

The way a "Stance" is portrayed in Chinese martial arts fiction (or "Wuxia") is kinda weird. In this context, the Five Symbol Stances are less Escotto standing around in a pose for a while, and more Escotto performing certain movements. For example, when using the Blue-Green Dragon Stance, Escotto imitates the movements of that symbole in order to affect its powers. If he stops doing so, or is interrupted (I.E. being hit, knocked down, etc), then he loses the effect.

Ahhh, makes enough sense to me ^.^

Well, I'm in a challenging starting position. The Crystal Empire is a long way from Everfree Forest. Then again, there might be a way if this is taking place as far ahead as Season 8.

I like to imagine Astral Gleam knows Sunburst. Not as a friend really, more like a... professional acquaintance. They're both academics and both live in the Crystal Empire, it's possible they've met professionally a couple of times. And then there's Twilight's School, what if Astral Gleam were visiting it as a Guest Professor, probably to give a few lectures about the history of the Crystal Empire (a pony who has actually lived through some of it would be rather qualified for such a job), and he was essentially invited on Sunburst's recommendation? Sunburst could have also had an ulterior motive, sending him to Twilight's School hoping it would inspire him to make a few attitude adjustments (Astral is still known for being a bit of a cynical prick after all). But it's while staying in Ponyville that he spots the crashing ships that night through his handheld telescope and this gives him adequate means to be near the plot as it begins.

That actually works nicely :D I had a couple of ideas, but you're is actually better there ;3

Though that reminds me! I forgot to specify the time of day! It's night of course, I'll go edit a bit about that into the IC... Granted, Day and night are a bit more 'controlled' in Equestria, hahahah XD

Hmmm, perhaps I should use the 0th post in the IC to keep track of immediate details in each new posting round >w>
@Shoryu but we aren't space marines lol. But I can work with that.

Well... not 40k 'space marines' XD but Starcraft marines 'are' in space... and marines. XD hehhehe

Also, My post is done enough, I might save my actual character introductions for the next round of posting.
Mine is currently under work being finished... and spell checked, typing while riding in a car can be a bit questonable in quality sometimes XD

Also, Chance decided that everyone will land with some distance between them, i'm just thinkin a couple of miles, so you should have a fair chance of spotting the other wrecks and deciding on one to getting to ;3

I think I'll drop us into the Everfree forest >w> this should make for an... exciting, introduction to the setting! :D

I'll let everyone handle their actual entrances ;3 but I've got a few suggestions, you're free to not use em and come up with something yourself! I just figured i'd make em incase they made things easier ;3

I tweaked up a little map to help my suggestions :D

1: Thedman - A sort-of mountainous edge of the forest, Might be rough for the biggest ship we have in the RP [I think it is at least XD ]
2: Ranging wolf - The forest edge near the gorge, I thought it might have some... interesting encounters, for the space marines :D
3: Rune_Alchemist - The forest area just around the ruined castle, and perhaps the interesting gorge nearby >3> I'm sure our inquisitive little aliens will be all kinds of fascinated with it!... and what a crashing ship might wake up nearby! ;3
4:... ME! :D - I'll dump my junk-heap right in the middle of the forest, oughta be a handy land-mark for navigation XD hahah

As for the shipless, I'm not too picky, but there's a few smaller land-marks, like zecora's voodooy hut, or rivers here and there, or a lake... escotto strikes me as funny to see drop into a lake XD... I'm not sure why, I think it has something to do with comedic kung-fu movies...
