When you go from walking around at 5am like a half shut knife to bouncing out your bed 10 minutes before the alarm goes off within a month of early starts at work. Self-improvement, ho!

Celebrating the one-month anniversary of my RP starting! 135 IC posts already and still growing. Also still accepting players, so hop on over if you are interested in gritty superheroes. All welcome!

How to know when your day as a home shopper will be busy - when your boss can't be arsed counting all the orders to pick so he logs the official total as 'mental' :-P

Best feelings as a GM #1 - Sitting at work cackling because a player has literally set up an amazing plot hook without realising it. *evil chuckle*

Bio

Well, where to begin?

I found my love of roleplays through a brief block of sessions of D&D when I screwed up enough and brought an class from an entirely different plane to join the main party. After following the plot to the end - which involved our dwarven pilot flying a gunship while simultaneously controlling 4 cannons by tying string around them - we ended up crashing through a portal onto a different plane. When attempting to formulate a plan, one of the PCs delivered a line that has stayed with me ever since.

"Ask the artificer, he's already done it once."

Since then, I've done a 3+ year RP between two players - using the FATE system - in which we created an entire city through creating mentally unstable characters and callus cold-blooded killers. One particularly nasty NPC came about by a sheer accident, when the melee-build character out-snarked the diplomat. Which was much more fun than it sounds. Had a bad experience with this site before, in which the GM didn't plan far enough ahead to include any NPCs whatsoever, and the other characters had no interest in Player-to-Player interactions outside of their own 2-man group. Needless to say, it died with incredible speed, which was a shame.

But I was tempted back by a friend to play a Pokemon RP despite having no knowledge whatsoever of the topic outside of Gen 1 stuff, and even that was years ago. Despite everything, I've not only been holding my own, but coming up with a completely separate sub-plot from the main plot, and making the GM's life a misery. (Sorry Zan!)

My writing style draws heavily from the likes of Worm and The Dresden Files, which means I can do a great deal of two things. Snark and Escalation. Outside of that, I like to think i'm a dynamic roleplayer, but I prefer sticking to High Fantasy sort of settings. Anything Slice of Life-y doesn't do it for me. Unless i'm slinging magic, psuedo-magic or demons (while snarking at whoever is unlucky enough to warrant it) I feel as though I could be doing something more entertaining with my time. When it comes to RP systems, I enjoy FATE or narrative based things.

My first RP which I am GMing on this site is themed around Dragon Age as carried on from the far superior (in my humble opinion) plot of the first game.

That's pretty much all there is to know about me that people would actually care about. I'll update it as I do with important changes or epic moments. Until then, feel free to PM me if you have questions or invites to stuff, and i'll respond as soon as I can. ^.^

It was almost certainly the earlier attempt on his life talking, but this smelled like a trap. Paranoia was a predominant trait among the Fae at the best of times. At the same time, the last time someone had really given him a run for his money was decades ago, at least. It might be entertaining to ride out this encounter to the dramatic climax, whatever that may be. The main question was whether she believed him to be an elf, or one of the Fae. Weighing up both options carefully, going with the woman certainly seemed to be the most fun option. Given how long-lived the species actually was, you took it where it came.

“Very well, then. We can square things away with our host and see what we turn up afterwards.” He flashed a wide smile. Besides, if no-one tries to kill me, I’ll even pay the bill. Maybe tonight won’t be so much of a waste after all.

The night air was biting, with only a wisp of a breeze. Street lamps everywhere had been ignited, basking the roads in a warm glow. Up ahead was a relatively modest restaurant, which the two entered, taking a seat. Velethuil scanned the area, patiently awaiting for the inevitable swooping of assassins.
Awesome!

Having a spot of technical trouble, but once I get it sorted out and confirm whether or not Leos/Fantasy want to post at this particular time, i'll get the latest IC post up and we can start moving the plot along at a nice pace xD
Gossip was a wonderful thing. Even the smallest piece of information filtered through lips loosened by alcohol could be devastating when used by the right person. One of the reason why gathering like this was always something Velethuil made time for. That and the general misplaced arrogance of the Bravado noblemen and women. Still, one of the more graceful guests had caught his eye. More than that, even, when she had outright approached him and asked to dance. Something the Fae had mastered over countless years. He offering a hand with a sweeping bow.

"I assure you, my dear, it would take far more than that to bother me. Dancing with you would be a pleasure." She took his hand, and the two made their way to the floor, waltzing to the soothing music drifting out from the band.
@Rune_AlchemistGood, solid Lovecraftian horror. Can't beat it =P
I am definitely interested in this as a setting, but debating to myself whether or not I can feasibly take on another RP =P

When I decide one way or another, i'll post up a CS. It'll be a hunter straight outta Bloodborne, because where better? xD
Approaching the opulent palace, it was truly a sight to behold. After freshening up after the hi-jinks of earlier - and finally undoing the glamour - Velethuil strode along to Lavquie's abode. The guards checked the list before waving him in. If the outside was impressive, then the inside stole the words from even his mouth. Golden chandeliers, elaborate jeweled sculptures and lavish fabrics covered every nook and cranny of the expansive room. Servants wandered around offering guests hors d'oeuvres and wine. A passing girl held the tray in Velethuil's direction, who politely refused. Being a Fae and all, the small bag at his side held a selection of wines and food brought from home.

As the night drew on and the guests became steadily more drunk, everyone was seated around a large mahogany table, with Lavquie at the head. Tonight was about some kind of crime wave sweeping the city. The topic didn't interest him all that much, but it was a nice way to pass the time. Food of all shapes and sizes were brought out onto the table as a plethora of wondrous smells filled the air. Sending a small token of appreciation to this evening's host meant that partaking in the meal would balance the deal fairly. Velethuil didn't mind, though, as it looked delicious.
It was a lovely day in Bravado. Clear skies, a nice cool breeze, and a lack of warmth in the sun which gave the air that perfect crisp coldness to it. Velethuil smiled to himself, seeing a lonely young woman sitting on a bench. Grabbing a handful of flowers from the passing garden, he offered them to her. Face lighting up, she took the flowers gently, nodding her appreciation to the man. In doing so, however, placing her in his debt. Something to cash in on later, he thought, merrily.

"Enjoying yourself, Faerie?" With the bitter tone coming from behind, he caught sight of four cloaked figures in dark, earthy brown leather armour. Velethuil had seen their kind before. Hunters.

Continuing to walk, he allowed the smile to widen. "Why, yes. The skies are blue, the air is cool, and the people are stupid. What more can one ask for-"

The tip of a crossbow bolt glinted in the sun as one of the figures drew the weapon from underneath his cloak. With a small chuckle, the Fae spun on his heel, and clicked his fingers. A blast of frigid air burst from the ground beneath their feet, covering the street in a fine mist. Velethuil ducked into a nearby alleyway, and his form melted away with Faerie Glamour, leaving a woman in his place. The same ice-blue hair, now in a bob cut, and a dark blue and black dress reaching down to her knees. Stumbling through the cloud, coughing and spluttering, she fell into the arms of a hunter, also in a coughing fit.

The man looked bewildered. "Did you see where he went, girl?" Seemingly unable to speak, being robbed of breath from the ice-cold air, she could only nod and point to the alley. Taking off with a great deal of enthusiasm, the four hunters vanished. Velethuil promptly stopped coughing, and wandered down the street from the way he had come, not yet undoing the glamour. Instead, the woman's form simply pulled the jacket in hand on over her shoulders and sauntered down the street.

The skies are blue, the air is cool.

The people are stupid.

Let them chase hearsay and rumours for a while, he thought. Passing the girl, still sitting on the bench clasping the flowers tightly to her chest, Velethuil smiled at her again. To the woman, he was an entirely different person this time around. I have a banquet to attend.
@TracyarmavI see another Dresden fan ^.^

@TriBunnyYou GM the same way I do. Get a nice, solid core to build everything around then pretty much respond to anything the players do as your villains would. Makes for a much more organic experience.
I'm sure you'll both find something to do here, without a doubt. Give me a shout if you want any tips/help/etc and i'll respond when I can ^.^
Much appreciated on the accept, looking forward to this ^.^
