@GreivousKhan This should make for a really good overarching plotline! :D

This could even be an interest to Spleen's faction.

On a minor note, with what has been presented thus far. I may-ish go with the Despotic City-State, we shall see.
@Sigma My idea is in the works but here is what I have so far let me know if it sounds alright to you. I think my faction are the remnants of an old religious monastic order back in the when times. They at some point took shelter in a massive set of ruins that turns out to be the shell of a long time now dead starship/colony ship. There they found fragments of some old records and, after one event after the next, a cult was spawned from what knowledge was found. I think it will be a pacifist religious faction that seeks to spread 'The Way.'

It teaches that flesh is inherently weak and that one must shed it and embrace/join with technology to reach enlightenment and perfection. So, in short, I'm wondering if very crude and basic bionics are a thing in this setting. That and fabricator like device that allows them to build various things. However, they need the blueprints as well as lots of iron/steel to make anything. So they will likely wander the wastes for water as well as dwindling iron.

If you need more details I'll be on later and if that does not sound reasonable let me know. I'm rather taken with the idea of basing myself out of a ship rather than the average city. Feels very post-apocalyptic.

@Edit: and by ship I do mean a derelict one that is split in half and DOES NOT work anymore.

I just love the sound of your faction :), got no objections from me. And you've explained it good enough to me.
@Dynamo Frokane
Indeed there are. There are currently no listed non-human species, but that of course is left to you, the players to fill in that gap :)
@Dynamo Frokane Yeah, you could do the character sheet for each member since it's a small group.
@Dynamo Frokane
Sounds good! As for that, here's an older post to explain it all.

Concerning the Oasis States or especially well off Watelander factions, technology is a blend of modern and near/far future tech. Hover craft, track and wheeled vehicles are in use side by side to traverse the Great Wastes. Concerning weapons, ballistic weapons are of course the norm, directed energy weapons however are more rare.

Hope that explains it.
My intentions are to play a single character at the start, and record how his actions will create a faction over time.

I like the sound of that! And if no player settles in the region in the immediate future, some NPC communities could be inserted in to interact with your character in the meantime.

Yeah, I'm going to take a different approach and be the "good" guys for once. It'll be a democracy based from city states that banded together due to wasteland raider punks.

No racist nation this time, at least in the beginning. It IS a democracy ;)

Should be real good! :)
@Klomster Sure, got no problem with it :) I had expected some wastelander or somesuch factions would be mobile like that.

Hmm, Seems we're actually good on raider factions. In that case, I may make use my despotic city-state concept.

Edit: I'll just keep thinking on this :P wait and see what else is brought in.
@Oraculum Sounds just right for the this kind of setting I'd say :D

The Great Wastes, Ashlands and others are crawling with all sorts of nasty beasts.
@FoxFire That was one of babysama's ideas(but went with the city-state idea instead). But darkspleen will be pursuing that idea with his "Keepers of Knowledge" paramilitary force.
