Crimmy has prrtty much said what I was going to say about the Ravens.

I would also like to say that the gun fires magical energy. Each ingot is about the size of a normal pistol magazine and holds ten shots, not six.
If I had to name examples...

The electromagnetic spectrum, magical energy, emotions, kinetic energy, how objects interact with one another.

Concepts tend to take more mana and she can't see people's thoughts.
Please explain which part confuses you.
Yeaaaah, sorry about that. It pretty much has about a million vision modes including ones that would be quite impossible without magic.

However due to the high mana demands and the fact that it's really hard to copy a god's ability she can only activate one or two at a time.
Well it's taken a while but I'm finally ready.

Name: Hikaru Tomo
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: Black hair of a moderate length is left to hang freely behind the shoulders. A pair of keen dark brown eyes gaze out from behind a pair of black, thick rimmed glasses. A raven's feather sweeps back from the left support strut of the glasses.
Hikaru's only addition to the school uniform is the addition of a belt for her Judgement 12 and it's ammunition. She stands slightly below average for her age group but aside from that she has a perfectly healthy and well developed body.
Personality: Motherly and curious might be the two best words to describe Hikaru. She cares for those around her, doing her best to make sure that her friends and younger siblings stay at their best. It might be helping them study or making health shakes to give an extra boost to a tired schoolmate. Although some debate if the energy boost comes from the drink itself or people's desire to escape. Her shakes can be a little hit or miss.
While not a big fan of fighting herself Hikaru does find some level of enjoyment in how others do so. A favored pastime of hers is watching other students spar and trying to figure out their moves. Although her tendency to think out loud sometimes makes her sound like a narrator to nearby people.
Skills: A fair shot even without the help of her Divine Gear. Chemistry, drawing, cooking(?),
Equipment: Hikaru's primary piece of gear is actually her glasses. Ritual technology is worked into the thick frames. The Divine Gear known as The Raven calls to the myth of Odin's All Seeing Eye. In order to be effective in combat Hikaru has suplimented her loadout with a second piece of gear. The Judgement 12 handgun. It's nothing all that special, a fairly standard Sacrifice Cauldron weapon. However it is sturdy enough to block a blade and compliments her primary abilities well.
Abilities: Hikaru's glasses allow her a limited version of Odin's True Wisdom. Whereas the myth says that the Norse god could see everything everywhere, the Divine Gear is limited to the wearer's field of vision. In addition, such a potent ability requires a large amount of mana. Hikaru is limited to only partial activations, focusing on specific parts of the True Wisdom that she wants to see through.
The Judgement 12 is pretty basic. It has three fire modes, Normal, Armor Piercing and Ricochet. Normal and Ricochet use the same amount of mana although the latter does slightly less damage. Armor piercing takes twice as much mana as the other two but does significantly higher piercing damage. As a Sacrifice Cauldron the weapon takes small iron ingots inserted into the handle and converts them to mana. Each ingot provides enough mana for ten shots.
Brief Backstory: Oldest daughter to a museum curator father and writer mother, Hikaru was helping out around the house from an early age. This became even more true when her two younger siblings were born. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she raised the two twins as much as her parents did. Went to middle school with Rika Kuze.
While she has had The Raven for quite some time, the Judgement 12 is a much more recent addition. After joinging Otsuki Academy Hikaru found herself in want of a weapon for the tournament thatthe school takes part in. Even now that she has some skill with a weapon Hikaru is not planning on a combat career. After graduating from Otsuki she plans on entering a medical collage and entering the medical research field.

Rika Kuze is somebody else's character. Hopefully they will be up soon as well.
Crimmyyyyyyyyy!

I promised myself that I would lay off of the inventing in this RPG. Don't tempt me.
For the sake of stopping the argument can I just say that my character uses a gun that runs off of mana batteries? My character's main thing uses pretty much all of her mana and it's purely sensory buffs.

Ignore my last post, you all post too fast for me.
Unless simply having a magitech weapon renders you bulletproof (which would also mean swordproof) and/or those magitech guns use none of the user's own mana a normal gun is still an effective weapon.

I know that normal guns are usually totally useless in anime, but that's only because the people who use them learned to shoot at the same place Stormtroopers did and the writers need some way to make it so that only the main cast can save the day.

I'm not expecting one shot kills here (metaphoricaly speaking.) It just doesn't make sense to me that extremely effective weapons suddenly become absolutely and hopelessly outclassed in every way once magic enters the picture.

You do realise that this is proposing giving a weapon that has no remotely nonlethal application (like holding back) for a friendly tournament? There's other things, but the law isn't terribly relevant when this basically proposes shooting school students in a competition.

The risk of her accidentally killing somebody is reduced considerably through the use of either rubber bullets or paint pellets.

Mundane guns haven't been used in a VERY long time, by the way.

Magitech outperforms them in every category. Oh sure it still uses bullets and explosives but it's probably just generated magically and stuff. I don't even think anyone makes mundane weaponry anymore.

Ordinary guns are still useful even in a world filled with magic. Not everybody is going to have a massive pool of mana to pour downrange at the enemy and a purely technological firearm would provide a valuable ranged weapon that placed no strain on the user's reserves.
Well I'm really just asking about normal guns since my character is going to use a pretty mana heavy sensory device and she needs an effective weapon.
