<Snipped quote by Skallagrim>

Right up until it becomes a e-peen contest about who can dodge the most close quarters attacks.

The problem is logic takes over.
True enough. If you enter a tournament you deal with what the gm decides is fair, as I said before.
Close quarter combat is extremely entertaining when done right. However the only static rule in arena is compromise. No two character are equal, you work to get them as close as possible.
Well, yeah but you're a special case.
Here is the link to the character so far Skallagrim. The picture isn't mine, I found it on devianart.

roleplayerguild.com/topics/88396-davla..

I am working on his spells right now. I was thinking of getting rid of the spell per day system and go based off of power points and instead of take the basic spells maybe do the words of power variant thats outlined in one of the Pathfinder books.

I'd like everyone who is willing, to help. The only way to build a community is to help people enter it. Everyone should remember the first tenative steps into the arena.
I think what you are talking about is just people who don't understand spatial relationships and often discard logic in favor of "just cuz ma character can."
Hi everyone I'm new to the Arena and was told that I should come here to ask questions and get help bringing my Pathfinder character over to the forums.

Dav, have you looked at some of the character sheets here? You'll note that the powers/magic elements are always detailed. You're character, if they are magically delicious needs to convert D&D/Pathfinder spells so it fits into the text combat format. Mostly have a description of the effects and range. Saving throws are out. The bonuses to hit are out, the whole number effect is pretty much out. The numerical damage in terms of dice is the hard part as damage is described and implied, while not forcing it on your opponent. What do you have so far? What questions do you have.
I think, and it is just an opinion, is for you to look at CS's in the character thread. See how they are set up, specifically the powers. Then we can do the conversions to build your character.
I am sure they will be glad too. Rilla can be very helpful in this area.
I would say yes. You should join the discussions on the arena hq thread or the other arena question and answer. Of course working the spells and other sundry D&D character class elements should not be difficult as long as you remember there are no absolutes.
