@hawkinsAgreed. Cole4Lyfe. I'd definitely like to see them continue the series, though. Second Son and, to a lesser extent First Light, were pretty entertaining and the original chapters were obviously fantastic. I also like the Prototype series and hope they make a sequel to that, too.

aw shit, a prototype 3 would absolutely make my day. especially after all the technological advancements with games like just cause. it could do so much.
@RedVII epic, i love infamous: second son (the original games were better tho, wish i had a ps3)

im gonna close my mouth a tiny bit on further details so as to not disclose the events of the entire rp, but just wanted to say:

Fun! So we're the breakout stars huh? I'm assuming the actions we take near the beginning will have a heavy sway on the course of the media, and how we're viewed by the public? Soooo many possibilities if an individual played their cards right, I mean marketing yourself as the first breed of superhuman? As an athlete, I know how sponsorships work, and I mean if you could mingle with the right individuals and end up finding yourself in the right rooms at the right time, shaking the right hands? Sheesh you could probably find yourself outfitted with the most cutting edge tech, and backed by some amazing sponsors, what company wouldn't want their own personal superhero on payroll? I know I would. Of course, you'd have to play the media like a game, but what's the part of being in the spotlight without any influence? Besides the benefits of this would obviously be enormous if you could keep up with the demands of the companies and playing the constant game of social media figure.

there really are two types of people huh

not a negative i just find it hilarious because this is not the route i had envisioned people to go, not a problem at all tho
I haven't been on this site in a long time, but let me in

I have access to discord, and as far as powers go what is the general ability range of our no doubt diverse cast of heroes? Are there other powered individuals, and if so are they common? Are any laws or special rules set in place, and also how would they be looked at by the general population? Am I asking too many questions and should I just shut my mouth now?

sorry I get off a little on lore and world information as an aggressive worldbuilder

as another aggressive worldbuilder, i thank you so much for your questions. i encourage anyone else to ask questions, even if its about the tiniest details. any answers will be compiled into a specific section in the ooc.

■ Ability range will just be easier if you tell me your ideas and I tell you if it's appropriate. I don't want to set a ceiling that discourages people from challenging the limits, as an idea that seems above the ceiling to you may be acceptable to me.
■ There are no other superpowered individuals. Our characters will be the first. One of the main aspects of the roleplay is how the world around them changes as a result: laws being put into place, public reaction, being skyrocketed into the media as a result, etc.
■ Please never ever shut your mouth. Ever. Keep them coming. I beg.
WOOOOO UMBRELLA ACADEMY

bring on s2

also, if anyone needs inspiration, the superpower wiki has a function that takes you to a random page, most of which are pretty obscure powers
cheers to everybody for the interest. work has begun on the ooc. in the meantime, feel free to get to know each other. also if we have conversation on here it will increase exposure please do my work for me

i'd also like to poll the availability of discord, since i've been weighing the different options for a peak collaborative experience. is there anyone here who is unable to access discord, be it that their device cannot handle the app (its a bit of a ram hog) or that they simply dont know how to navigate the interface? dont worry if you cant, its not necessary for discussion. more of a bonus thing than anything else.

also also, while im not going to be providing a character sheet until the ooc is up, feel free to think up a power and the effect it may have on the type of character you want to make. this is where the discussion-in-the-interest-check thing comes to play, since you dont want to get deadset on a power someone else is deadset on before the roleplay has even reached the character creation phase.

that being said, i shouldnt keep you waiting too long on the ooc front.

You there! Yes, you, the one who clicked onto the page! I won't bore you with the pretentious quotes from stuffy old dead dudes—it's much more fun to be pretentious in my own ways. I propose a simple question: ever joined one of those roleplays which turned out to be entirely dependent on character interaction, almost like a plot was an afterthought? Do you grow tired of aimless sandboxes with no direction? Then welcome to a world that is as much a sandbox as a litter tray is an appropriate toilet for a human. Sure, you could have a nice shite in your kitty litter, but why would you want to?

In simpler terms, I wish to create a roleplay where "conclusion" is not a taboo term. I want to take players on a journey where they are given the freedom and flexibility to make decisions that alter the course of the roleplay, yet remain moving towards a set goal. Don't settle for making your own fun out of glue and matchsticks. Fully collaborate with others to build on an existing framework to extract the richest amount of fun and satisfaction.

The subject, of course, will be superpowers and everything that comes with them. Set in a small town, the catalyst for the roleplay is a high school reunion, some 7 years after graduation, wherein certain events lead to our group of untimely people gaining powers. From there, the narrative can branch off into several points. It's all about bouncing ideas back and forth and finding what works for us in the OOC, and the characters in the IC.

A few more details:
■ I'm looking for a group of five; six at a push. If that amount of people shows interest (I can only hope they do), don't let it discourage you, as:
■ No first come first serve. No reservations. I want to see you hunger games this shit. (On a serious note: I'm not elitist. It will be a selective process, but you won't get rejected for slight mistakes like spelling, grammar, etc.)
■ I am looking for a co-GM. Express your interest in the position with a simple sentence and I will approach you if I feel you are the right fit.
■ As I want a focus on collaboration, there won't be a Discord of any kind, unless I know for certain everyone has access to it and can use it sufficiently.
just repost the interest check you dont really need to get permission from anyone
