I admit, when I said in his CS that he'd even dress in drag (particularly when performing) I did not expect it to come into play in the first post, if ever even.

We're going to have a ball, I can tell.

"Aren't you at least going to apologize?!"

Ryan let out a long, exasperated sigh and looked up at the girl badgering him. Apologize? Perhaps a year or two ago he would have, but he'd been faced with so many of these conversations since joining the academy that his empathy was stetched to nonexistence. With careful slowness, he set his violin down into it's case and latched it shut, before fixing the girl with the flattest stare he could muster.

"Look, you cheated on your boyfriend because you wanted to fuck this other guy. That's all my power does, lets you do what you want."

"Yeah, but I love him Vino! I wouldn't have done that if you weren't around! Maybe you could like talk to him? Explain that it wasn't my fault?"

"And... explain that you love him but wanted to fuck someone else? I don't think that'd go well. I'm sure you'll figure something out."

Stifling a yawn and bored beyond comprehension, Ryan began to walk past the girl, ending the conversation. He gave himself more than enough hell for his power and antics, he didn't really need to take it from other people as well. Besides, if this girl was here bothering him that meant the Races must have finally ended. An event he was forbidden from attending, considering what had happened last year at the academy. Someone thought it'd be a good time if they managed to give him wine instead of water as a refreshment. It did not go well.

"Oh, and you know my reputation, right? I mean, you stayed at that party, it's really not my fault. Don't ask me to apologize."

He didn't give her a chance to say anything in reply before he was in the hallway, making his way back to his room. He considered trying to skip the banquet later. Sure, the event had gone smoothly the last couple years, mostly because the staff caught on that they needed to watch what he drank like a hawk, but there was always the chance of things going horribly wrong.

And besides, the whole affair was so stiff and formal. Seriously, a dress code? The one area he liked to indulge his wild side was his clothing. As he thought the issue over more and more Ryan found himself in front of his room, staring at the door. When suddenly, a solution dawned on him that filled him with delight.

"This... Might be fun after all!"

"Secure in his masculinity" fell far short of the level of refusing to give a damn Ryan felt about how he came off to others. He was fully dressed up in drag for the ball tonight, having spent the last couple hours working on his appearance. Although his piercings were removed for the night, the myriad of tattoos running up and down his arms (ranging from simple to absurd) were fully visible with his formal black dress. technically he wasn't breaking any rules by showing up in formal attire. He hoped at least one of the staff had an aneurysm trying to wrap their head around that.

Still, not all the staff were bad. Ms. Daniels in particular was a favorite of Vino's, and he often sought her out when convenient. Control over his powers had always been something he lacked- and he took any opportunity he could to learn restraint from the woman. So far, to both of their disappointments, the efforts had been in vain. Still, he avoided sticking around to talk with her for fear of the other staff taking the opportunity to chew him out. Likewise, he resisted the compulsion to slide in next to Mr. Clarke and joining him on the piano. Sure, it had a 50% chance of turning into a fun time, but also a 50% chance of being a near-death experience. Not good odds.

Finally though, swaying with the music coming from the bipolar teacher, he made his way over to the banquet tables, on the hunt for faces he recognized. Doubtless his friends, or really anyone who had watched him perform before, would take the getup in stride. As for anyone else... Well, shocking people could be fun too. It'd certainly be a fun way to end an otherwise boring day.

That and dancing. He'd dance alone if he had to, but there was no way he was passing up the chance.
I swear it will only be your characters who regret this decision.
Honestly, I only scrape by, but I'd never trade it for having to live with others again. I'm on the extreme end of the Hermit scale though.
This makes me uncomfortable

Sorry, we'll start talking about Aethlemund-Sempai's quest for love on the battlefield instead.
She'll be too busy not being there when the captain needs her most. Say, leading an entirely different flank of the army instead.

To be honest I regret not giving Sult a shady assasin background.

I see her as more of a back-alley rapist, personally.
@MissCapnCrunchTruly a fearful combination at any party.

We'll have to hammer out their relationship more thoroughly once/if he's accepted. I can see it going a lot of different ways.
So, of course let me know if anything needs changing. Also, apologies but I'm not a very artsy person, so it won't be prettied up like some of these others.
