I like the idea, although (unless people drop out or die) I think by the time we have Hero status, the groups won't want to split, since the new groups are based on compatibility. Maybe a group or two might merge, but I doubt any withstanding group would disband after such a bonding time on the battlefield. Especially the now-shipped "Tacticleric" (<- name I'm coining)
true true- and nice xD I'll think of a catchy name for the place, although of course we don't need it for now.
Still though, I feel bad for making you guys wait so long for my post. I'll get one up as soon as I can.
Aww don't feel bad! Dragonite and Happy recapped literally everything that happened, so no worries c:
<Snipped quote by Snarl>
I think that sounds like a great idea! It could serve as a hub between missions, hell, the group will probably end up as a bloody small militia by the sound of things! XD All teaming up against the roleplays main Antagonist as a force to be reckoned with!
Yes exactly what I'm going for! Idk what the main antagonist is though- other than, possibly the red hand? I'll ask N when they get back on.
BTW GUYS: check out the skeleton of the Bestiary in the character section. Its right above Happy's flamboyant archer xD
I can't stop laughing at all the shipping posts. I'm gonna have to try so hard to not metagame this XD
Also, which spellsword is with us? Alyssa or Wednesday (*fake deep south accent* I can speak me some "Ee-span-yol-uh")?
P.S. I have actually had Spanish classes from 1st through 7th grade, then 2 years in high school. Still only speak on a 3rd grade level. But I'm a fluent 3rd grader.
<Snipped quote by Snarl>
So, for the sexual tension?
The spellswords get their pick c:
And no not for the sexual tension xDD just because Captor requested it and I think they'd all get along.
Also- Just as a general to everyone- what do you guys think about a tavern of heroes? Like, its a place that makes money off of heroes just gathering there afterwards and drinking/having a good time? It doubles as a place for them to board and check out a quest board thats set up there. It can act as a headquarters for the characters that want to stay in their teams if they like them or just as a general place to crash after they reach Hero of Maplestead status (which will be the titled granted to them, if they survive of course).
I'm more interested in putting teams together based on personality as opposed to skillsets (in an RP at least). Also, I feel that it will be easier to justify my character staying with as team then it would be to justify him joining a new one (I was quite naive when I made my tsundere character. I didn't think it would be this hard to justify his actions that I want him to do)
Ah okay I see where you're coming from c: I have no problem with reorganizing. Gimme a second.
Updated Teams List
Team 1: Thief, white mage, Prince Based on relationship building.
Team 2: Cleric, Tactician, Spellsword
I ship Cleric and Tactician. Literally my only reasoning.
Team 3: Archer, beast-tamer, Mace Master Mace Master and Beast-Tamer'll rush the front while Archer has their backs. The bulkier Mace Master'll take some of the heat off of the reckless Beast Tamer.
Team 4: Spellsword, Astronomer, Templar Templar and Spellword take the front, defending the Astronomer from heavy attacks.
I may have a love for flamboyant characters... Never the less, enjoy!
Name: Veltis Arunda
Nicknames/Aliases: N/A
Gender: Male
Birthday: June 21st
Age: 22
Class: Archer
Occupation: Hero. He simply does what he can to help people without asking for anything in return.
Species:
Human
Appearance:
A standard Caucasian male, standing at 6 feet tall and having a slim feminine build, supporting a silver set of swept back flowing waist length straight hair, and possessing heterochromia, his left eye is a brilliant gold, while his right is a brightly lit green.
Clothing Style:
Veltis is equipped with a golden head bangle adorned with a unicorn looking horn at the front, which spikes upwards, his ears are pierced with golden rings all the way around the tip of the ears. Wearing a dark blue dyed lizard scaled jacket, white trimmed, white buttoned and supporting white cuffs, along with white plated shoulder circular pauldrons.
( his jacket looks like this, but lizard scaled and dyed dark blue and trimmed white )
He also wears a set of long white dyed formal leggings, supporting silver plated armor along it to give better protection against strikes, with silver plate boots to match.
He also supports a large box on his back which holds his large great bow arrows.
Personality:
Veltis was raised to be a gentleman, raised to always put others before himself in order to please and be accepted by others for who he is, not shying away from answering or asking questions, he tries to befriend others with his kind attitude and humbleness, hoping to let others see that he's a man who will go an extra mile for them and not be some moocher who is only after them for something they have. Though pretty kind, he is incredibly flamboyant, and rather feminine in the way he moves and speaks, having a large amount of grace with his movements, making himself appear comedic at times. When it comes to serious scenarios, Veltis tries his best to help in any way he can, it pains him to see his comrades or innocent strangers feeling depressed or conflicted and it brings him joy to just be able to help them ease their pain, if he can. Veltis can be rather stubborn however when it comes to helping others, which can get him into some trouble, but believes that if he doesn't keep trying, then there's no point to his existence. Believing that everyone should band together in equal unison to bring the world forward, he loves giving people compliments to raise moral among his allies.
Likes: Helping the weak, defending his comrades, dancing, happy atmospheres, making friends, giving to the homeless and romance novels.
Dislikes: Arrogance, those who would act in malice, drunks, fish and rabid monsters.
Past/History:
Veltis was lucky enough to be born into a family of wealth though not of royalty. Born in a town called Byron, Veltis was born into what many people where who were born inside Byron were, born into a family of traders and merchants, his mother and father both sold an assortment of goods and made strides in profit by assisting the most pleasing markets, while most merchants try to sell their goods to the most profitable market, as most merchants believe they would rather make no money than some money if they cannot make all the money, Veltis' mother and father took the chance they got, and sold to the markets which many thought were to be unprofitable, and ironically become profitable for them as nobody was selling to the niche markets in the realm. Due to their ingenious plans and their business potential, they became a rising trade and worked up enough to see them through to the end of their days with bales of gold left to spare. They were never greedy folk, always granting fair prices and always to the ones who desired it for non violent or nefarious reasons and so, when Veltis was born, his parents taught him of the value of speech, of talking to others and helping others to help not only themselves but to help everyone who wasn't cruel equally.
When growing up, his mother and father with their intellectual minds, raised him and granted him the knowledge that only the wealthy could pay for, while using their merchandising skills to knock the prices of his tutoring off a few notches. Veltis was taught many things about the world such as culture, civilization, history, the lore of magic, arts, the military, the views of the people, language, and other topics, and because of so much knowledge, Veltis would grow up to become intelligent himself, and due to his gentlemanly nature, would desire to spread his knowledge to the people who wouldn't be able to afford it.
While living in Byron, because of Veltis' good willed nature, his desire to assist others often gets him into trouble with the local guard for standing up for peasants who steal for having nothing to eat or for standing up for his beliefs against racism, sex and his other beliefs. He was well received by many others his age because he was so outgoing, playful and trustworthy, never breaking a promise with his childhood friends and never going against their backs, Veltis would always make sure to seek out those who have nobody to be friends with and become their friend so nobody would be alone to him, displaying his kindness openly like so.
While growing up, gaining a great education, sharing such education and gaining allies because of his personality and the way he was raised, one thing that was needed for Veltis to learn was to defend himself. Though he was not tutored in the arts of self defense like he was with his knowledge, his father was actually once known as a very skilled marksman, skilled in the use of large Greatbows, Veltis was trained to use the bow, but started off using smaller more efficient bows for practice and slowly building it up from there, countless training exercises to build his physique to give him the strength to wield a large bow like his father, in the middle of his days playing with his friends and getting his education, he made sure to practice and learn every single day with his father from an early age, and from building up his strength from his consistent training regimes, the noble young child born into his merchant family had now grown up, A strong and kind man of twenty years of age, his education had been fully completed, his training though incredibly hard and painful had came to an end with his abilities in using the Greatbow excelling those of his father now, due to his old age, with his skills, and was given the weapon used by his father, the Ebilis Lanquis, a greatbow heirloom passed down from generations.
Veltis has become a very strong individual, though not perfect, he is not a master of the greatbow, he cannot use swords and is unable to use magic, but he is a strong individual who is not afraid to put his life on the line for his ideals. From having grown up and seen many walks of life, he only wants the best for the people of the world and gear in hand, sets off to see that his ideals are met, and has set off around the realm succeeding in helping those less fortunate than himself, in the two years after his leave from Byron, Veltis has made a positive name for himself, not recognized everywhere he is still well known by many common folk, giving him a reputation with those around him, now at the age of twenty two, because of his well known reputation, this job to slay monsters was the perfect opportunity for him to keep them at bay.
Screaming because he's perfect
add him to the character section whenever you get the chance ;u;
*All demons are threats to the player. All will attack when the player is near/detected.
Two-headed demon wolf that prowls about, ripping apart anything that comes close to one of its mouths. They do not run in packs, thankfully, but make up for what they lack in numbers with brute strength and ferocity. The heads often bicker and fight.
Specialty: Resistance to fire and dark magic (meaning a Necromancer cannot take control of their corpse etc) Weaknesses: they will turn on one another. get one head to think the other is trying to kill it and watch the blood shed.
A horrendously powerful demon- its heavy-set body and sheer size give it almost complete immunity to physical attacks. They stomp about and love to trample things, especially if whatever they step on happens to scream in agony.
Specialty: crazy defense Weaknesses: Blinding it kills it.
These disgusting demons twist and contort their bodies as they walk (has anyone ever seen Mama? Yeah.) They move like this at high speeds and can easily avoid attacks this way.
Specialty: nimble, lightening resistance Weaknesses: pin them down and the rest'll be a cake walk.
These slow moving volcanic demons destroy everything they come into contact with. The hardened areas on their bodies can be hit, but the lava that covers the majority of their bodies cannot be touched. This point cannot be stressed enough: do not touch the lava.
Specialty: can incinerate and burn Weaknesses: water, they're also slow
Few have survived an encounter with the Goliath demon- and those that have return with lost limbs and minds. This demon thrashes about, crushing their enemies before tearing their limbs. They have a sadistic tendency to cripple their enemies and leaving them to suffer before returning to finish off the job.
Specialty: it rampages- the more it kills the more powerful it becomes. Weaknesses: unknown.
Demons that are the most common/abundant around the fields in farms. They are a mischievous breed that love to pull pranks. They are fairly harmless- as long as they are kept away from blades and other sharp objects.
Specialty: quick and wield blades Weaknesses: fire (setbacks of being made out of demonic straw)
Vengeful spirits that have re-inhabited their armor to seek out those that have wronged them- although no one knows why this includes all of humanity. They often convene together and set out in groups of 4 or 5. Much has been retained from their days as warriors, although their movements are understandably slower. Specialty: abilities of your average Templar (albeit a tad weaker) Weaknesses: light magic is especially effective
These demons are night specific, for they turn to stone if touched by the light. They fly about and pick the unsuspecting off the ground, dropping them to their deaths or carrying them back to some place to eat them.
Specialty: they're surprisingly quiet and sneaky Weaknesses: light magic/ sunlight
Creatures
These ferocious creatures are solitary animals. They prey upon the livestock of farmers and have been known to destroy property in search of an easy meal. They sleep the majority of the day away. However, if they are threatened or wakened from their sleep, they will shred the threat to pieces. Its considered a feat amongst Beast Whisperers to tame one.
Status: Aggressive. Attack when threatened.. or hungry..... or bored. Found: Mountain dwellers.
Your friendly fido- they populate most cities as working and family dogs. They are courageous and loyal, willing to die to protect their owners. Maplestead is famous for being where this breed of dog was born.
Status: friendly. Found: In any city.
Gross critters that live off of fungus and anything else that rolls into their homes. They rarely if ever leave the safety of their caves, but are sensitive to metals and so horde things like jewels and gold- which attracts their main food source to them- humans.
Status: Threats in dark places, like caves, outside they are paralyzed by light. Found: dark, humid caves.
These birds are built for high-speed chases and momentary flight. Many are often caught and used as mounts or as fighting birds.
Status: Threats when near nests. Found: Out in the fields or plains, looking for food. Their nests are high atop trees.
The Cavern Panther is a beast thought to have been mere legend only a few decades ago. They are solitary and it is currently unknown how many populate the wild. However, if the legends are true, seeing a Cavern Panther asleep in the moonlight would grant the viewer one wish.
Status: Dangerous. Keep away at all costs. Found: mostly found in caves- however recent sightings say that they have been found in dark forests at night.
There have only been a total of 12 spotted in the wild- remarkable, considering their size. They are protected against hunters by law. Legends tell that these creatures protect forests and travelers that find themselves lost in one.
Status: Friendly, yet illusive. Found: deep in the forests.
These massive wolves act very much like our wolves- however the Feathered Snow is much larger (standing at the shoulder about 7ft and weighing about 200lbs) and much, much more feral. They blend in with the snowy mountain tops of their homes, hunting whatever they can take down.
Status: Dangerous, once they set on hunting you they will not stop until you are dead. Found: up in the mountains.
Wyvern's enjoy terrorizing the countryside and burning anything that moves. They also love eating sheep.
Status: Ask yourself: Is it wild? If yes, then run away. If it's tamed, they act like puppies. Found: warm places, especially hot springs and volcanoes.
RUN. RUN JUST RUN.
Status: You will die, they run as fast as a bull and bite like a shark... Found: mainly in your nightmares but also near the ocean.
I think this is going to be a great team setup. Adrial and Brennen are going to line up so well with their personalities. Though Adrial might smack Brennen every once in a while after a battle (winning sometimes makes him cocky/arrogant). And Cecelia will definitely be out-of-battle support as well with making sure everyone's ok.
The teams seem to be set up pretty well, although honestly I was hoping for Louis to be on a team with Elisha. I felt that since they both have self esteme problems, and aren't very well thought of by their family, they could bond over that once she breaks through Louis' outer tsun-tsun shell to reach his soft and gooey dere-dere center
Ah I'm sorry- I could change it if you want. I was thinking more along the lines of who your characters would most benefit from in battle- Since Louis and Elisha are so frail their third team member would have a lot of pressure on them.
But the teams aren't for the whole rp! After this quest they can break apart and go on their own ways- or perhaps stay togetehr, depending on how the characters feel about one another. I was thinking of perhaps implementing a new aspect to the rp... Where the quest system could require some teams- but like official teams with like a name and stuff. But I'm not too sure- its too early in the rp to see if people would really like the idea, given that we haven't finished the first quest yet.
@Snarl I would like to commend Snarl for taking control of this, stepping up, and moving us forward in this RP. Thank you!
