Walter Pierce

Walter nodded. "Got it," he replied to Ethan, though a look of concern washed over the young man as he looked over his friend's shoulder to look for Nikki. Though more than enough of their own group had been consumed by the walkers already, including the ones from only moments before, he was not keen on losing any more of their people.

"Make sure she gets out, too," Walter told Ethan, wheeling around and starting down the road. He thought back to when Alex had split off on his own-- just where exactly did he run off to? He blinked, his feet eventually taking him to the opposite side and starting at a set of decayed houses and buildings.

Placing his knife back into its holder and grabbing his crowbar, Walter took a deep breath, citing the impending situation and time of day as a means to work fast. He kept a close eye on each corner, darting along the many complexes. The sights of the perpetually deteriorating civilization had been commonplace for Walter; he'd been along these streets and buildings many times, and so, he trusted his pathfinding was without flaw.

As much as Walter would have loved to call out Alex's name, so as to find the stray cat faster, it was obviously unwise to do so. "Which one..." he mumbled to himself, eyeing down each building as a boarded one stood out. "Maybe?"

It was strange what a rush of adrenaline did to the human body, and how it affected someone's mind state. One moment, Walter had been staring down a potential threat to their group, looking between Nikki and Ethan, and the next moment, his dirty hands clasped tightly around his knife stained with crimson.

Leaving the task of keeping the walkers at bay to Nikki, Walter remained alongside Ethan, so as to back him up in the time of need. He trusted the man to make it back safely after running back to grab his gear, watching for any stray walkers if they drew too close to the unarmed members of their group.

While Walter dealt with the few that strayed away from the incident, Ethan returned shortly after, following the loud gunshot from before. "We need to move," he called to Ethan, shoving a walker off of the blade of his knife. "Shot's gonna draw more of 'em here!"
Sorry for disappearing without saying anything; a bunch of birthdays and partying happened, and I sort of lost track of the days.

I'll quickly catch myself up! :)

The man sighed as Alex continued onward without stopping to consider the rest of the group's input, shaking his head as the European trotted off. Sure, Walter was thankful for the man's experience in medical practices, and even helping him mentally through these times during their time at Dana Point, but that did not justify a nature trip. They needed a moment to catch their breath, as well as discuss where they would exactly be going to find a refuge for the night.

As Nikki rejoined their ranks, Walter nodded to the woman, having a delayed reaction to the commotion occurring beside him. When the girl suddenly appeared with a bow aimed at Ethan, he had to hold himself back from saving his fellow survivor from the potential danger, keeping his fingers wrapped around the sheath of his knife.

Walter remained vigilant, wheeling around completely and kicking himself away from the car he leaned against. He took a few steps towards the remainder of the group, watching the girl's hands carefully.

Who knew that one of the first things that Walter Pierce would find himself doing in the midst of an apocalyptic crisis and the decay of society would be taking a stroll along the coastline.

Only, instead of the smell of the Pacific Ocean on an average day, it was the familiar stench of the rotting dead that seemingly littered every turning corner, and the perpetual smoke that cut into his lungs. Even with the sudden invasion of the horde and the destruction of their long-lived sanctuary, Walter continued to quietly coexist within the pocket of survivors that remained.

The man's entire body beaded of sweat, much like the companions that flanked him; such a condition had never bothered Walter until this point, and as tiring as the escape was, he graciously accepted Ethan's charity. He leaned against one of the many run-down cars near the group's point of respite, keeping a lookout among the horizon while listening.

"No problem with that," Walter spoke up first in response, his eyes remaining along the highway as his hand fiddled with the knife at his side. "I can take first watch."

OC: Lee Min-ho

Name: Walter Pierce

Age: Twenty-years old

Gender: Male

Birthplace: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Pre-Outbreak Occupation: First-Year College Student/Barista

Group: Dana Point Group

Personality: Thoughtful, Curious, Kind, Loyal, and Reliable (to a fault). Headstrong in the face of pressure.

Backstory: Walter Pierce was the first child of a Korean mother and Irish father; his mother was an immigrant to the United States, and years before his birth, met his father. He grew up normally in the neighborhood of South Philadelphia, and despite racial differences between him and his peers, the boy got along just fine.

Overall, like most of the children and teenagers growing up, Walter was oriented on making his family proud, doing well in school along with running track, being greatly successful in this aspect. Despite this, the young man was at a lost; he struggled to find something to do with his life after the high school days, and in a series of breakdowns and falling outs, he moved away from home.

On the west coast, Walter found a semblance of purpose, attending college with a track and field scholarship and working part-time at a local cafe. Only roughly a year passed before the outbreak began, and Walter found himself on the run from the dead. Initially with another group of survivors who were headed for Dana Point, he was the only one to survive the trip, and arrived at the sanctuary damaged and broken from the experience.

But the wounds close and heal with time.
