Beer is liquid bread. Pop-tarts are ravioli. Corn dogs are Popsicles. I will not be explaining.

Haley ★ 24 ★ Taurus ★ EST ★ Casual Level Group Writer

Welcome fellow writer. I go by many names, but you can call me Haley or pretty much anything else. I stick to causal level groups here on the forum. I have a soft spot for thunderstorms, dark humor, strong coffee, animals, pretty words, feminine rage, mythologies, and all things that go 'bump' in the night. I've lived in the same small southern Appalachian town my whole life, and aim to travel one day. I'm open to the occasional random conversation, but please do not message me asking to write one-on-one; it's simply not something I do these days.

Shooting at it doesn't help. Yelling at it doesn't help. Offering it a plate at the BBQ doesn't help.
Tentative interest.

So literally everyone could call Val short whenever they wanted, but for some reason when Reyna and Ava did it, it was a crime? What kind of bullshit was this? Reyna made slightly offensive joking comments about their group all day, so for certain people to act like it was anything different had her just a little confused. Rather than unintentionally cause any more shit, Reyna rolled her eyes as Leon boarded the RV. Arms crossed, she ignored anyone else who felt the need to scold her. Reyna knew she wasn't wanted here by most people (and that hurt). If it wasn't for her closest friends, she wouldn't even be here. Truth to be told, she was beginning to wonder why she had even come for them, much less at all.

Pressing her lips into a thin line, as she put her hands on her hips, Reyna watched the scene between Valeria, Sami, and Chris unfold. Deep down, she was actually glad that someone had stopped Val from leaving. While she liked to pick on the other girl from time to time, if it wasn't for Val, the two groups would have never come together. Reyna could give Val props for that, but there was no way in hell she was going to say that out loud. With the trio walking back to the larger group, it was Ava that broke Reynas train of though.

"Girl same. This is my last summer before college, and I'm not about to spend it changing my personality and kissing peoples asses. We can just spring for first class, get drunk and flirt with the flight attendants. Hell. I might say fuck all this shit and just go to Paris. Who knows?"

Grabbing her bags and stepping into the RV, Reyna took a seat beside Ava on one of the couches as she put in her earbuds - hoping that the whole trip wouldn't be like this.

Standing over by the punch bowl was proving to be a pretty decent choice on Ariel's part. With each drink, she felt herself relax. By what she believed to be drink number six, Ariel had a decent sort of buzz going. If the teachers were going to get mad at her for hogging the punch and getting drunk - so be it. She didn't really want to be here anyway. Truth to be told, if it wasn't for her friends, she wouldn't be doing a lot of things right now.

Watching the crowd for Marisol, Shawna, or anyone else she could low-key lean on to pull her through this night, Ariel spotted Sawyer approach the table.

The few interactions that she had had with Sawyer had been friendly, and from what she could tell, he was actually half decent company. Since she had the tendency to ramble when she got tipsy, Ariel figured it was best to find someone to talk to other than herself. Sawyer being so close by was a God send. As luck would have it, here came Julie and Sonny too! Filling yet another cup with punch, Ariel prepared herself to spark a conversation with the familiar faces quickly surrounding her. Taking a sip as she turned around, Ariel had to fight the instinct to spit it right back out in shock.

Did Kavi seriously just attempt to start a chat with her? The audacity.

Tipping her head to the side as she silently thought about how awful his shirt was as she looked him up and down, Ariel began to feel a spark ignite inside of her - something surprising in her state of semi-numbness. What the spark was about, she didn't know quite yet. If she had to guess, she'd say it was about the growing need to slap the piss out of him and walk away. This was the first time that they had spoken face to face since everything had happened and he was asking if she was having fun? The thought made her audibly scoff.

"Fun?" she said in a questioning tone, repeating the word back to him. "If you mean forcing myself to be somewhere I don't want to be while trying to get drunk off of shit punch then yeah. I'd say I'm having fun." Shrugging her shoulders, Ariel took another drink from her cup. "What about you?"

Taking his tray from the cafeteria lady, Sam frowned as he looked down at todays breakfast. He wasn't a fan of sausage, and would rather have pancakes or waffles in place of the second portion of meat. Sadly, he didn't really have a choice. Making himself something back at the dorms was always an option, but he was feeling his fair share of Monday laziness. Thanking the group of ladies that made his food each day, Sam stood at the end of the line waiting on his friends.

Watching the scene unfold around him, Sam leaned up against one of the counters and picked up a piece of bacon before taking a bite. His growling stomach and teenage boy appetite waited for no one. Nodding his head at Leo's comment as he continued to chew, Sam swallowed his bacon before speaking.

"Yo, I'm in. I hate those assembly things. All of us packed in there like sardines while I try not to fall asleep? Nah. I'd rather skip it any day."

As Theo and Wesley entered the cafeteria, Sam couldn't help but chuckle as he sat down with his friends. No doubt most of the girls in this room were about to be staring Theo's way. Who could blame them? A muscular dude who had just finished working out, strolling in shirtless? Even Sam couldn't help letting his eyes linger for just a few moments. It would be none other than the innocent Hanna that would break him from his daze as she fell at his, Sol's, and Leo's feet.

Before he even had time to ask "Are you okay?" the young woman had already ran away with an embarrassed and terrified look on her face. Shrugging his shoulders, he sighed.

"Well that was weird," he said, placing his unwanted sausage on Leos plate.
I'm going back to my old waitressing job, and I'm actually kind of excited.

I already know the ins and outs of the place, the regulars, etc. The owners always adored me. The money was good, and the hours were manageable. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off every week. Downside is my weekends are gone again.
