The Storyteller was inhaling deeply from his oaken pipe allowing the shimmerweed to relax his senses as he watched the mighty downpour from the safety of the Stone Rose Tavern. It was after hours nearing two in the morning, but the old man couldn't sleep. He had received a missive that an old acquaintance was going to be in town soon and thus far they were late. Not a sign of worry crossed his brow however as this person was quite well known for their tardiness.
Blowing out several smoke rings with a smile the Storyteller's eyes lit up as a flash of lightening illuminated the outside and he could see a lone figure slowing making their way through the darkness towards the tavern. A slight smile crept up the corners of his lips. Even in this weather, it seems they knew no haste. One would think only the long-lived races like the elves would have such a leisure about them. The bell chimed as the large door of the tavern swung open as a large bulky figure walked in.
Pulling off his wet cloak he hung it on the coat rack and revealing flaming locks of hair that reached the middle of his back and oddly enough amongst his hair were....feathers? Of equally red color. The figure stood tall and mighty like an oak but turning around revealed a large pot belly that seemed out of place for the tree limbs that he had for his arms and legs. The large man had a toothy grin that was hidden under his facial hair as he embraced the Storyteller with too tightly of a hug making him gasp slightly until the hug was finished.
" Ivo it is good to see you." The Storyteller smiled. "Or do you now go by Chanticleer?"
Ivo chuckled as he patted his belly. "Either works for me nowadays. You'd be proud of me! I'm no longer running from destiny."
The Storyteller nodded his head approvingly. "Have you made any headway on what happened in your realm?" Ivo looked briefly troubled but responded. "Yes and no." He stroked his beard slightly. " In your travels to my world did you ever see or hear anything relating to the Lord of Plagues?" Concern was visible on the old man's face as his eyes focused on Ivo. "You don't mean..." He started but his question was answered with a nod from Ivo.
"Aye. He does have something to do with why all the major gods of my realm have vanished. I am sure of it." The Storyteller reached for a large pitcher of ale and poured Ivo and himself a drink as Ivo continued. "I encountered this young girl named Aki and another named Lynn. They have been helping me. Aki is another chosen like me, but her goddess is Diuturna." The Storyteller nodded as he spoke "It is strange how when the stars vanished from the sky that only the minor gods were somehow able to stay when the major gods vanished."
As Ivo finished his drink and poured himself another from the pitcher he looked towards the Storyteller. "Which brings me to why I am here Magnus. I need to know everything you know about the Lord of Plagues and how you think he vanquished the gods."
