Current you can never really tell if a person is looking out from behind their own eyes, or if the eyes are being piloted by tiny mice in swivel-chairs.

You aren't a true historian until you want to die because you have to properly cite 70 different footnotes on your 20 page paper at 1 AM the day it is due

Prayer does nothing. Demand change from your representatives. This is the ONLY country where mass shootings are a regular occurrence.

Bio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psYQl2wmgyU

College student at a state college in the American Pacific Northwest. I am studying history to go into an education masters program, and then hopefully go teach high schoolers, also going for a political science minor since I keep taking polysci classes :V . Positive Nihilist, leftie, enjoy in depth discussion of topics/fun tangents, also enjoy being left alone... depends on the day. I also am not a fan of capitalizing the beginning of a sentence. why does it need a capital letter? there's already a punctuation mark before it! (he says as he continues to capitalize the word "I")

Other interests include:
-Overwatch: support/Junkrat main. #freefuey
-Combat Robotics: and if you're like me and are too poor to actually build shit but want to pretend you've made something anyway, check out ARC (http://s10.zetaboards.com/Drowning_City_Forums/index/). /cross-forum plug :V
-also in the vein of robotics, I volunteer through the FIRST (for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition community. FIRST puts on a lot of really cool robotics based events for schoolchildren, and I do encourage you to check out their events and/or get into volunteering if you're into that sort of thing. it's also a gigantic commitment and probably not as much fun for people who aren't as into it as I am :V . still, go take like 3 minutes to watch this, this shit is so cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjDSCT96K2w
-Hearthstone (fuck cubelock amirit I definitely dont love cubelock or anything)
-MtG (and by that I mean I dick around with a group hug commander deck with my friends)
-I play Sheik in one of the Super Smash brothers games but I forget which one. pretty sure it's not melee :V

@vietmyke@The Angry Goat Open fire comes from guns, and the flame that spurts from their mouth. Without fire, guns would be ineffective...so it kinda makes you wonder what they're using instead of gunpowder to start with.

Open shooty is hilarious and somewhere I have something similar but I can't find it. Ah well.

However, given that we are modern people in our world, with modern word usage, I suspect we are going to be using "fire" as a term for shooting. Or we could just say "shoot" (not "open shooty", mind, but similar idea). The fun question is if perhaps people wouldn't hold on to the "loose!" command from bow and arrow or sling.

nah, definitely open shooty
jesus, I'm gone for 2 days and we have 7 ICs and 15 pages of OOC. Guess I'll post some time this week lol
petition to now say "open shooty"
oh sure now gotham is free again :P

It's been about twenty-four hours and, even though you used a picture of a model/actor for your character, you're approved!

yeet

under normal circumstances I would have used a comic cover or drawing, but they're all a bit older than I wanted for this specific imagining of Shade
you might see a version of Shade pop up from me in a day or two. not sure how powerful I want to go with him, but regardless, he's gonna be freaked as fuck since his powers involve him calling upon a semi-sentient plane of darkness lol
all this intrigue and spying. I just need a good heretic to punch :P

This is bigger than any of these individuals - way bigger, she though to herself before smirking at the obviousness of her own thoughts. The issue wasn't necessarily that they were working together - it was that all of their actions were pre-planned, and she was still sitting there, trying to react to them as they came. She needed to get some information, and she was going to get it the old fashioned way - by beating up thugs and corrupt policemen in back alleys until one of them spilled the beans on this "Tusk." And once they did.... oooooh boooy.

But before the fun, comes the research. Need to know who the baddies are to get the information out of them.

Metropolis // USA:

May 17th, 2019 - 4:15 PM //Metro Tower - Midtown// Intro

He probably cut a strange scene driving up to the Metro tower, in his blue 2000 Nissan Sentra blasting LazerHawk while wearing an outfit straight out of a gothic horror movie, but that was just how Richard Swift rolled these days. To him, the aesthetics weren't even clashing - just a part of him.

His euphoria came to a bit of a crash when the automated gate on the Metro tower parking garage wouldn't open for him. "Oi, I know this ain't the fuckin batmobile, but I don't really need anything fancy when I can fly, ya know?" he yelled at... well, no one in particular. He huffed and shifted into park - didn't seem like there was that much in and out car traffic - which made sense. From what he'd heard they automated what they could to minimize citizen endangerment, and most of the superfolk weren't exactly the types to drive everywhere. He still liked the experience - and besides, it didn't exactly do well for one's image to come flying in cloaked in a shroud of inescapable blackness.

He shook his head and climbed out of the car, forming a cane out of the darkness as he walked in the front door of the tower and explained the situation to the front desk woman. The problem eventually solved - his car and face hadn't been in their databases yet - and he was able to get parked, and make his way to the upper level, pushing a hotel cart made of darkness with all his stuff on it. It wasn't much, but it made his room feel like home - and it was nice to have somewhere to settle down in after a few months on the road. America was truly fascinating, and his travels had given him time to re-focus, and become confident once again about his new life trajectory - which started with meeting other members of the JLU. The Comet seemed to be the closest thing this group had to a leader since the founding members faded away from the scene, and he was apparently in a training simulation at the moment. He decided to take the stairs down - good exercise, and happened to end up on the ground floor just as the Comet walked out of the elevator.

"'Ay." He said, extending a gloved hand. "You must be The Comet. I'm Shade, and I'm new here. Wot's the latest, and 'ow can I help?"
