Bonjour! Thanks for clicking on my thread and (maybe) reading it through! Also, should I not be your last stop, good luck on your search! Anyway, to forewarn, what’s below is quite stringent and of length in order to put everything on the table. Better to know what you’re getting into, right?
To break some ice, you can call me Booh, I’m a college student in the western USA and am a long time anime and book lover. G Gundam and Sailor Moon were the first I ever watched, followed by every Miyazaki movie I could get my hands on. Talking books, Young Ha Kim, Maxine Hong Kingston and H.P. Lovecraft tend to be my go to, though to be honest, I like way too many to list. I’m very much willing to shoot the random breeze or talk possible tales. I’ve been around the RP block a bit, dabbled in many things and am generally open to a whole lot – little ruffles these feathers of mine. Now with the niceties to the side, it's time to get mean. (kidding
kidding of course!)
The Basics>>Three plus paragraphs (approx. 450wc) minimum.
>>Two or more replies weekly.
>>Generous OOC collaboration.
>>18+ por favor.
>>MxF – but willing to scrape the rust off FxF and MxM. I play all genders.
>>PM, maybe on forum, possibly email.
>>Medieval/Dark Ages, Fantasy, Georgian-Victorian+Feudal Japan+Wild West Historical, Dystopian and Noir are my favorite settings. Action, forbidden, intrigue, dark and romance are my favorite genres.
I love me some correctness, fer true. Capitalization, punctuation, grammar, third-past tense, etc . I don’t get crimped over mistakes, but I would like you to edit, use spellcheck and salt with plenty of effort.
Dynamic characters – you know, those staged with elaborate histories, the kind with layered personalities and mindsets just waiting to be peeled. There’s little I favor more than written people me and mine can’t help but bite and milk for their worth. Collectively, this also equates to characters having their own ambitions and purpose – your creations should never take a backseat, they’re equally important.
Detail is delicious. Painting the setting stroke by stroke with well-placed words, animating sensations, livening actions and gifting thoughts tangibility… YES. I want to know when your character is flustered and how it physically manifests, I want to know what they’re wearing, how their eyes thin with contemplation and what runs through their head. Is it cold outside? How does your character take to the nippy air? Are they watching autumn leafs plummet from the trees? What’s their bedroom like? Description is delectable.
Complexity in the plot is positively necessary to keep the game from termination. There must be twists, complications, unseen obstacles and drama that justly pushes the tale along. Accordingly, light and fluffier scenes are sometimes required to balance.
Yay to multiple characters, both the type that play a larger role along the mains and those that make short appearances. They’re much needed and we as writers, should be comfortable bringing them in.
Me and you OOC: as the puppeteers of this show, we need to have a clear road of free communication. My tendency is to inquire often, to get your thoughts and ideas, which helps me to customize and bend to you. I do something wrong? Set my arse right. Want to play a particular scene? Tell me, I’ll follow your lead.
Mature please. I just… don’t care for censorship. Most of my characters have chronic potty mouth, some are womanizers, others are expressly violent or have illegal habits. Basically, I have a penchant for writing in the R-Rated-Realm of things, and I don’t want to black out parts of the story. I like all the goodies: darker tales composed of a not-so-nice cast, suggestive themes and those things that partner. Now, I’m not looking for that and only that, I simply prefer the leeway and ability.
As prior stated, I'm open to many things and am also swiftly swayed and easily hooked. You'd be surprised how quick I'll bend for a good story, good writing and/or a good partner. (Package deal and I'm at your feet)
God-moding, power-playing (unless discussed), that stuff.
Please, try not to ditch. I’ll cut the game after three or four weeks of inactivity.
Insta-romance… ten posts and they’re in love?... no. Natural or none at all.
Generic clichés - the heavenly-hearted, angel-faced girl with a devilish past, the apathetic badboy who opens his soul to said girl. Not interested.
Canon characters - I can’t get into something that isn’t made by me and besides that, I spend too much time trying to perfect them.
If you lack initiative, in that you only react to what my characters do, refuse to start scenes yourself, come up with ideas or have an opinion, I’m sorry, but we’re incompatible.
Modern “slice of life” is not my thing, there has to be something else beyond mundane trivialities and everyday plights.
Pairings:
These are very open, the little accompanying snippets are up for discussion or can be entirely ignored. Mind you, all are intended to be 18+ – but can be adjusted.
Vampire x Human
[medieval - 1700s; large city terrorized by vast coven of vampires… humans offer person to sate vampires… vampires do not kill sacrifice]
Angel x Human
[modern fantasy; charge with dangerous lifestyle… angel shows up “pretending” to be human, becomes friend of charge as last resort]
Prince(ess) x Knight
[medieval; royal child is a troublemaker… knight assigned to babysit… forbidden things occur]
Kingpin x Detective
[modern; rich formidable criminal… childhood best friend turned crime-stopper… power and moral struggle]
Throwing me a PM is the best way to get in contact and start rolling. I will also give you a writing sample and reciprocation would be marvelous.
