Is everyone in the auditorium?? I feel like I am missing someone.
That someone is probably me. I apologize for how late I am with my CSes, I've only JUST recently found the perfect symbol for one of my characters. I am almost done with them both though.
@Vortex Though you might want to change the Background a little bit given the current circumstances, You're in. Given said circumstance, If you wish to essentially allow yourself into the Ship as a recruit who just happened to not have been at the briefing, I will allow it.
Also, please put the Doctor's CS on the CHAR section. ^^
This is most likely my fault. I have been working long hours at my job lately and I think @The Jest has been waiting on me to make my post. Needless to say, I will make my post right away.
Edit: How the fuck do you ping people on this thing?
If no one else gets to it in the next few days, I'll prob make a quick post where Traveler captures the merchant captain in order to speed this up a bit. Unless someone else is currently writing that or wants to be a part of it.
@The JestYou alright with that? or did you have something in mind?
@The Jest Hey! If its alright with you I'd like to join
It's a bit presumptuous of me but I've written up a character already.
Name: Wilhelm Morskaven "The Butcher of Fleawalk" Race: Human Cyborg Age: 40 Gender: Male Job: Surgeon Weapons: Generally doesn't carry one on him, however his robotic arms are equivalent to a Swiss army knife and can pull out several knife's, hacksaws, cleavers, scaples, needles and various other medical tools that could be used in creative (and painful) ways if his life is threatened
Bio: Wilhelm was once a bright eyed young man fresh out of the medical academy with the noble ideal of saving the world. He wandered the sectors for several years with no fixed base, applying his services to clinics in need of some extra hands. This was until he found the Fleawalk, one of the most depraved and impoverished parts of Lancelot and the entire Empire. Wilhelm saw the wretched conditions of those who lived there and knew he had to start a clinic of his own there as it was starkly lacking in doctors. A few years later and Wilhelm realised why this was the case, there was a seemingly never ending line of patients with mortal wounds and suppliers rarely came by to restock his resources as they feared the criminal reputation of the Fleawalk, which was well deserved as his clinic was often broken into. With infinite patients and very finite supplies, Wilhelm was forced to start improvising. Cutting, Hacking, Slashing and Sawing at flesh and bone with the only pain relief for patients being a piece of wood to bite down on and the clothes they bought with them into the clinic to soak up their blood, the mortality rate for the clinic was almost as high as out on the streets. Before too long Wilhelm was approached by a criminal syndicate who offered him a deal, they would give him fresh supplies and better tools from the black market as well as organs and body parts for transplants and in return he gives preferential treatment to the gang members and occasionally "assist" in the syndicates "interrogations". The chipper young man that was fresh out of the medical academy would be horrified about such a proposition but the man Wilhelm was now saw no other alternative and so he accepted the offer. And with his improvisational hacking and sawing technique coupled with his criminal affiliations he became known as "The Butcher of Fleawalk". With that said, several years after that things got slightly better for the clinic, there was still an ungodly amount of patients and still hardly enough supplies but it was still far beter than what he had to work with before, not to mention the aquisition of illegal military grade body enhancements for himself which he found incredibly useful. Unfortunately, the criminal syndicate was eventually busted and its leaders were executed and its other members were sent off to slave colonies. Knowing that there were a million connections leading back to him and not wanting such a fate for himself, he packed his bags and ran. Ran until he spotted an odd looking note, that is.
Personality: Grim outlook on life, enjoys a good conversation and especially with those who share a similar skill set to him, cares for those uncared for by others and don't care much for him, thinks that ethics are for naive children and scoffs at those who have them, fundamentally good
Abilities: Cyborg Doctor; As stated before, Wilhelm has robotic arms that can pull out various tools. He has also replaced or made additions to much of his mind, giving him a increased mental capacity. His vision is also improved due to eye enhancements, allowing him to work with greater precision in various situations. Mechanical Medicine: While not as knowledgeable as an engineer, Wilhelm has a good understanding of cyber tech and how it can be adapted to the human body Improvisation; Wilhelm has developed a knack for thinking on his feet in dire situations. When most doctors would give up, Wilhelm improvises with what he has and takes, often brutal and extreme, action. Enhanced Interrogation Techniques: While he hopes that he might be able to leave that in his past, should the situation arrive, he's able to deliver
Well now, I can't say I was expecting this.
On the one hand, I do like the effort and appreciate the interest. On the other hand, we already have both a surgeon and a former interrogator.
I suppose there's no reason to not add more but even so, I'm going to need to talk with @Windstormugly to discuss a verdict on this one. I hope you don't mind the wait. ^_^
Well its been a few weeks,I may be saying this a touch prematurely but I think this is dead. @The Jest If you are still interested in GMing this, might I suggest either a new Interest check or a reboot in the casual section?
I don't want to declare this as Dead just yet. Although I shall admit that if it is Something that I am forced to declare dead...Yeah, I will likely put it in the Casual section.
I think the problem was lack of direction. Take for example open world games like Skyrim. You have a map, you choose to do something, a place/direction to follow and go. Here? We only have the cave. It's like we were stuck in an unskippable cut scene. You could say for example:"Before you lies the tunnel, behind you is the rubble and above is the opening from which you fell. If you proceed to head outside you can choose to go to blablabla, follow the road to the city of blabla or go up the mountain to the abandoned cabin...everyone avoids the cabin, something is off about it."
And BAM you got options and a possible quest/event line. Just my humble thoughts. Hnd.
But even Skyrim WAS locked in a beginning cutscene of sorts, was it not? But yes, I do see your point. My hope was, and still is, that we would go out of the cave first and enter the city, wherein the Freedom would begin.
@The Jest Actually I don't have much planned out yet. Just a school with full and half breed. A secret or two. Maybe attacks from outside forces.
I see. Very well, if you like, would you mind PMing me what you have so far? I'd actually like to ask a question in private anyways about one of my characters. ^^
