Name:Robert Cullens
Gender:Male
Age: 38
Height n' Weight: 180cm/82kg
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Personality: Robert is a charming young man with an outgoing charm to him that gushes out with how he speaks and simply act with the people around him. Being a friendly face that never seems to fade out of the cheery disposition which is infectious to those who let it be. Having a seemingly adventurous and curious nature to him that is like a bundle of uncontained energy that is stuffed within him like an overflowing package. It's almost draining to see how energetic and active he is that never seems to be bored. Following where his instincts guide him, he is always falling into some sort of trouble or mischief that somehow finds him. Causing some people to label him as a rowdy person and spontaneous but he prefers to call himself as fun loving who adds a little bit of spice during the day.
With a short stature, perhaps that is the secret to how energetic he is. Having a build that is rather well toned, with his athletic frame coming from the multitude of activities that he partakes in. Whether it being a fickle desire or passing hobby, he is always interested in learning something new so long he simply enjoys himself. Keeping his appearance in fine condition with his sense of fashion and apparel, keeping him from looking the same twice in a single week with the variety he has with his clothing. Having the faint scent of something spicy like cinnamon coming from him if you observe closely for some reason.
Background: Being born from a magus family with several generations rooted in Ireland's magical culture, he is the inheritor to all of his family's knowledge and exploits. Having a very small presence with their reputation that only extends to their local community, they aren't a large family even with all of their members. With each inheritor of the magic crest of the Cullens family staying in Ireland to learn the fundamentals of their family for most of their lives and continuing to do the same thing for the next heir. They are heavy with the tradition that they have been passing on as a dying art, teaching the descendants to be in touch with the land around them even if they aren't in position for the magic crest. For another job that they had along with their duties to the earth was to protect something that was a treasure for Ireland's druids in their remaining forests that were diminishing.
Robert, born as a direct descendant of the Cullens family inherited their magic crest which has been strengthening itself after generations worth of effort has been preserved within it. Being a talented one at his young age, he quickly learned the many rituals and abilities that were essential to the position that was required for him. Balancing both his magical studies separate from the life that he also lived outside of the training that he went through. He kept himself clean from any trouble when going to public school, never trying to cause problems intentionally while learning everything there as well. Growing interested more and more with the outside world that he knew that laid out there beyond the forests that he was kept in all the time. Obligated to both learn more but also having to perform the duties that were expected of him from his family, it was a hard decision to make for the two sides he had to consider.
Despite the ties that Robert had to Ireland and the family that he had there as his home, he left to pursue the sights and knowledge from the world that was outside the bubble that he knew. Pursuing the goal of becoming a student of the Clock Tower as one of many aspirations that he had. His application was no doubt a wild card that only reinforced the mystery he had around him when his thaumaturgical abilities were shown. His time there was spent in taking a precursor class of the General Fundamentals for a strong base to build whatever else he will learn here. Giving him an interesting view point of his different educations both privately from his family, the public school, and the private Clock Tower opportunity given to him. In such a class, he excelled in the areas that he had already learned under his family along with new things that were taught to him that filled missing parts of his knowledge. Becoming more and more a subject on interest as his qualities were slowly discovered by his peers and teachers, showing potential as a first-rate magus even outside of his specialty when the time came. He visited home when he could and talk about what he learned from the education he had in the Clock Tower that he managed to get himself, working hard to remain in such a prestigious place.
After his initial classes, he advanced himself into performing his own individual studies with the resources of the Clock Tower behind his research along with other classes that he took to even himself out. He had a heavy schedule that he managed to dance around surprisingly while still having to time to explore every nook and cranny there was over his years there, making friends and acquaintances. Finding himself making more connections to people around him at the Clock Tower which was a surprisingly useful trait of having an education around such an environment. However, the time he had spent there also made him more aware of the cut-throat nature that the Clock Tower had within its walls as fractions and individual powers were constantly pushing or pulling against each other. With one of his classes taking place in the presence of Lord Professor Ayondale's class who he knew held considerable power and an infamous reputation... In attendance to his class, he was often asked many questions about himself and many other things that Robert himself was uncomfortable sharing to him. Giving partial answers that were never complete and trying to brush off the probing questions that were often targeted at him when the opportunity presented itself.
Eventually, one day Lord Professor Ayondale had shown up without any questions or anything of that nature but instead began a monologue that Robert himself remembers. Going on about his acceptance in the Clock Tower was an interest to him, but not for Robert himself but what his family had after he had finally learned who they were after delegating some resources to such a task. Finding out what they were protecting was a Mystic Code of sorts, a secret that wasn't even told to him despite taking the magic crest for his family's name. With a sense of urgency, he retreated back to Ireland where his family and extended relatives all made their place and began to investigate. There after a hasty retreat, he discovered that his family were mostly recovered from a raid that had recently struck them. Seeing the effects of interacting with the outside world, he had to make another decision between the duty he had to his family and his desire to explore the world.
Deciding it was for the best, he closed off his connections to the outside world and sent a few letters of notice to those who needed to know along with a few close friends that he trusted. He went back to his family to rebuild everything that had happened, with their sense of safety violated, they retreated back into their solitude even more than previously. Cutting ties with the normal world as they took a break, placing up precautions to prevent such a thing from happening. Robert himself decided to spend the time getting to know the land itself more intimately without the many distractions that once surronded him during his time at the Clock Tower.
Origin: Connections
Element: Earth, Water
School of Magecraft: Druidcraft
Skills/Spells:Druidcraft - A school of magecraft that was used by the Druids of Ireland that have passed down from generation to the next, finally being inherited with this knowledge, Robert has learned all that remains after the sand of time has washed away pieces of their culture and magecraft. It is similar to Witchcraft, being used by their people as a way to both communicate to the land and defend against outsiders at the same time. There is a combination of both utility and combat spells that have been passed on through the ages, focusing on rituals rather than simple spells. Sharing a similar system of belief on the Shinto practice who focus heavily on the gods, the Druids focus on having the same bond to the land and their own gods.
Keeper of the Land - An intrinsic ability gained from the upbringing that Robert has which allows a form of 'communication' and pacification of animals and plants both mundane and magical, to at minimum be indifferent to his presence, so long he doesn't do anything to provoke them. Being less effective against beings that are already mad at him or in a state of aggression, requiring him to take more effort into calming them down. While capable of communicating to Nature Spirits, it is more difficult due to talking to a more complex nature that Robert might not understand. The ability itself does not consume any magical energy due to its nature being similar to 'Breathing and Walking' that allows nature interference to simply just happen and enhanced when magical energy is applied. They can be compared to being an extension to nature and have their abilities wax or wane depending on the conditions similar to a homunculus.
Geomancy - While all magus can access and use ley lines or tap into the mana in the atmosphere, Druids are able to take this to the next step. Using a form of magecraft known as geomancy, they are capable of using the land and bond to it that allows them to use the great flow of power that comes from nature. Giving Robert the ability to gather more precise detail on the finer details about his surroundings that would pass most people. Being a form of magecraft sometimes looked down on by those who focus on individual magic schools because it eschews what magus normally do, which is specialization. In exchange, they favor of molding raw magical energy that allows them to act in unpredictable ways due to its unique nature but with less 'order'.
Resurgence - By drawing in magical energy from the environment around a living object, Robert can assist in reinforcing their natural existence so long he keeps the connection intact between the two. It allows living things to sustain themselves with the magical energy its being fed, causing dying plants to green again or a sick person to improve during the upkeep of this spell. Between 5 / 10 / 15 / 30 units of magical energy are required to sustain the link per day while the rest of the magical energy is supplied through the environment depending on how much of an improvement is desired. However, due to the broad effect of this spell, it is inferior to Reinforcement and Healing magecraft due to its inability to go above what is 'natural' for the organism he is trying to affect. Treating each rank as one lower as a reference to its potency compared to the other two magecrafts.
- Minor - The least that Robert can do for a living organism as they are supplied with magical energy as sustenance for them to survive off on. It prevents the minor decay in their health, so long the subject is suffering from no ailment that affects their health. The effect it has on growth simply encourages healthy growth from the subject that makes its full potential realized when given time.
- Moderate - By pouring in more magical energy to assist during a small sickness or when recovering after one, it will bolster the health and constitution of the target. Accelerating the natural healing process that helps them get back on their feet, minor injuries are handled within a few days with no scarring and provided with rest will result in full recovery. Its effect on the growth of the subject is unnoticeable still but their natural potential reaches its limit as it is tougher and more resistant in future cases in the long run.
- Large - When the case is urgent where a subject is indeed in danger of an ailment if not treat relatively soon, by pouring more magical energy into the subject can tip the scale in their favor. Ensuring that the healing process is working effectively both externally and internally, slowly binding small scrapes and bruises by the end of the day. Its effect of growth allows the subject stabilize at the end of the day, within reason, they would be able to function after a day's worth of rest to be sure.
- Extreme - When the situation suggests something that needs to be treated right now in the moment or risk being fatal to the subject, dumping magical energy into the target to sustain their body is one way to solve a problem like that. It moves from the slow process of healing and enters the realm of slowly knitting wounds together along with replenishing other resources the body needs. Mitigating the damage inflicted by supplying the magical energy to do so to make every ounce the body uses to its maximum efficiency. With the growth accelerated immensely with an abundance of materials to do so, the regeneration of a body that has been recently harmed is possible.
Runes - A cultural magecraft that originated in Scandinavia during the Age of Gods that manifested themselves as symbols, embodying the mysteries that are recorded within them. They are similar to Magic Crest and their function, only requiring magical energy to activate the spells that are stored within them, you could call them more simplistic in use. Passing down tradition, Robert himself has been given the full breadth of knowledge that his family knows about runes both Old and New. The spell that Robert uses with his runes cost 4 units of mana each and doubles in cost whenever another addition is made to it, giving them various effects. With so many letters that Runes embody, it would be tedious to list them all and their capabilities when combined with each other. Within reason most of the spells coming from this
list will be capable for Robert to use with his own knowledge of Runes.
Mystic Codes: Mantle of the Keeper - A mystic code that is made by leaving it out for the exposure of weak nature spirits in the surrounding area, combined with the spell that is woven into the cloak. It is a article of clothing that covers the body, with modest decorations lining through its fabric despite its golden color that it is. The wrap itself grants its wearer magical invisibility when supplied with energy and is ran through it, becoming more potent in the woodlands where it can prove even more difficult to find a Druid wearing one of these cloaks.
