I think I should write a pithy roleplay about how an expenditure of effort does not entitle you to your perception of an equivalent reward. Anyone know someone who'd be interested?

Okay, let's be honest for a second here, if we stop the status bar from being edgy angst land it really doesn't have anything going for it except sheer autism.

Does anyone know where you can get a white trilby embroidered with threatening messages? Asking for a friend.

【History】
Phanyx is one of the last of the old Satyrs, born into the Runecarved Deadlands before the change of Satyric government condemned the use of the old magics and their society was morphed into the more nature-oriented one that it currently is. Phanyx's life began as an initiate in the Cult of the Ashen God, a quasi-religious gathering of Satyr who worshipped a Satyr known only as the Ashen God for his impressive command over magic relating to fire and its uses in the preparation of Last Rites for the Satyr who were dead or in the process of dying. The cult was not a necessarily popular one, given that they performed the somewhat frowned upon task of dealing with those who had died, but the use of the old magic (it was old even when the Ashen God learned it) was something a young Phanyx, a potent mage in his own right, could not resist the temptation of.
Phanyx was born into the Satyric nobility, having generations of carefully selected power bred into his very being, and was by all rights set to become one of the strongest mages in the Satyric lands since the arrival of the Ashen God himself. Of course, power calls to power, and it was only a logical conclusion that Phanyx joined the cult to learn of the old fire magic that the Ashen God had perfected. This meant forsaking all ties to one's house and to the Satyric community as a whole, but the pursuit of greater power was all that Phanyx had ever been raised to care about - it came as little surprise to his family that the values they had instilled in the young satyr turned against them.
Phanyx left his ancestral home when the Cult of the Ashen God saw fit to move, to offer their services to other races and leave the treacherous Deadlands, and by this time he was already primed to become the Hand of the Flame, the personal student of the Ashen God himself. After only a few short decades, Phanyx had learned of magic that could begin to quell his need for knowledge, and was all but primed to take over the cult when the Ashen God eventually chose to ascend with the archaic rituals he had discovered and reinvented. Before ascending, Phanyx was taught all of the magic that the Ashen God knew - except how to conjure the Sun's fire - and was offered the position of Lord Sovereign to ensure the cult would survive and prosper in the Ashen God's absence.
Phanyx has travelled with the cult for 700 years, still its Lord Sovereign, after discovering the Perdition's Flame and using the Ashen God's rituals to rejuvenate himself every century. Now the turn of the next century looms upon him, and even greater magic is required to bring power and youth to his form - he currently uses the nature of his position to scout the land for powerful individuals affiliated to the power of the Light in order to bolster the power of his next rejuvenation.
【Weapons/Tools】
Perdition’s Flame - A beautifully crafted dagger carved from satyr’s horns and mana-infused steel. The dagger is ritualistic in both nature and design, and is clearly designed to pierce in order to offer victims as sacrifice - the blade holds an air of regality but also of frailty, as if it is a priceless artefact that would break upon the slightest application of force. While this is not true, the blade is not one meant for physical combat, but it is clearly magical in nature. The blade looks as if it was carved from shadow made solid, black as the darkest night, and though it is obviously forged from multiple items it looks as if it were meant to be whole all along. Though the blade is astoundingly beautiful, it looks incomplete, as if there is a gemstone missing, or a lustrous sheen to be desired.
Perdition’s Flame has the power to focus energies that the user wills, often shaping them into archaic glyphs - and due to being forged in the presence of mana from the Mistral Coast, the dagger possesses telekinetic powers that enable the user to control its movements and suspend it midair to a limited degree. The blade also augments Fire-affiliated magic that is channeled through it, causing runes to light up down the centre of the blade as it does so.
【Strengths and Weaknesses】
Phanyx is an extremely potent mage, having used several ancient rites of magical potency to bolster his skill - he is also of a race that is inherently magically skilled.
Phanyx’s knowledge of the world as a whole is great due to his having travelled it extensively, but he does not know any given area with any degree of specificity. Phanyx is a weak melee combatant.
【Phanyx’s Magic】
Name: Glyph of the Ashen God - Pyros Protos Rank: Range: User(s): Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: A simple glyph depicting a circle that creates either a gout of flame from the ground or creates a simple but potent fireball. The glyph can be used rapidly in succession and does not wane in power, though additional hits against the same target deal steadily decreasing damage.
Weakness:
Name: Glyph of the Ashen God - Pyros Deuteros Rank: Range: User(s): Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: A glyph depicting two identical circles overlapping - identical to Pyros Protos in every way except power, which is doubled.
Weakness:
Name: Glyph of the Ashen God - Pyros Triquetros Rank: Cryptic Range: User(s): Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: A glyph depicting the triquetra. Identical to Pyros Deuteros, but again twice as powerful. Pyros Triquetras can only be used once for every time Pyros Deuteros has been used twice.
Weakness:
Name: Archaic Glyph of the Ashen God - Pyros Pentos Rank: Cryptic Range: Short-Long User(s): Phanyx Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: The most powerful glyph of the Ashen God, lost to all but those originally initiated into the cult. The user scribes a five-pointed star in the air with a finger or Perdition’s Flame, and the glyph will either be placed onto a desired area (except living beings) or it will immediately conjure its effect. The glyph creates a burst of extremely intense fire, enough to melt rock, in either a fifteen-foot radius circle around Phanyx, or in a stream in any linear direction around him. The power of Pyros Pentos can only be invoked once every twenty-four hours.
Weakness: Long cooldown.
Name: Archaic Blessing of the Ashen God Rank: Cryptic Range: Personal User(s): Phanyx Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: Phanyx blesses himself or his target with a five-pointed star (see Phanyx’s forehead), giving them the ability to use Glyph of the Ashen God - Pyros Protos and causing them to be able to conjure a cylinder of fire around themselves once every hour (Phanyx can use the ability significantly more frequently due to being the Lord Sovereign) that wards off physical attackers. The cylinder is short-lived but extremely intense, and can result in severe burns with only minor contact.
Weakness: N/A
Name: Anachronic Rite of Ashen Rejuvenation Rank: Arcana Range: Personal User(s): Unknown Element Affinity (If Applicable): Fire
Description: The last rite passed down by the Ashen God to his followers - by fusing the powers of Fire, Darkness and Light in an eternal dichotomy within the Perdition’s Flame, the user is able to stab themselves in the heart with the blade, instantly immolating their body but not causing themselves any true bodily harm. If the bearer is allowed to burn for twenty-four hours, their magical powers are rejuvenated, increasing them vastly, as well as “resetting” their life without damaging their existing body. Essentially, if the extravagantly complex ritual can be completed back-to-back, the user is biologically immortal.
Phanyx has performed the rite a total of seven times and is greatly empowered in the arts of Fire-type magic, but his efficacy is beginning to decline as the ritual’s power wears off.
It's just as easy to say we did something in the past as that we did in the present. It's just an idea, though, just trying to help you over the writer's block :c
