Greetings, Guild.
My full nickname is VerminaeSupremacy, it’s slapped on all my contacts, and kudos to those who can read music references because I do these a lot.
I am a 27 year old autistic nerd, living in a certain country where freedom and tolerance is in extremely low supply, but can’t escape just yet. Need a place to process the chaos unfolding, and, since I always refined real issues through roleplaying, I hope I can team up with a bunch of sad escapists like myself, willing to play drama, thriller, sci-fi or dark fantasy with depressive themes to make reality pale in comparison.
English is my second language, I think I am decent enough and have pretty rich vocabulary to increase artistic value of my texts. I may mess up times at times or use some clunky phrasing, but, being perfectionist and open to critique, I‘ll gladly fix anything. Actually, I used to fix posts 20+ times if I waited for reply too long. Obsessive much? Ikr
I’ve been a play-by-post roleplayer for 18 years, for the last 2 years I also am active tabletop roleplayer and GM. I have several worlds I already developed for roleplay, a couple that are settings for the books, fandoms I played, fandoms I know and adore, but mostly I prefer original world for any new character and just use popular fiction and media as references. As is I’ll only play TES, and, maybe, Forgotten Realms with a grounded approach to narrative as opposed to ‘here’s 9th level spell, I fix everything and become a god’. I enjoy low fantasy like ASoIaF and The First Law by Abercrombie a lot. Also kudos for Sanderson’s fans. The Black Company old school fans, Malazan club, Witcher books and games people, Robin Hobb fans, hey-hey-hey to you too.
Other than big fantasy nerd I am all for suspense and fear. Be it The Great Unknown, secret technologies, or just a suspected maniac, mystical detective, sci-fi in space - it’s cool. Dark and Katla by Netflix come to mind, also The Expanse. Stargate (especially Andromeda).
I also like serious social, economical and political themes in games. Maybe even more than sci-fi, because you can bring sci-fi troupes into fantasy and spice it up with Lovecraftian horrors, but unless you play Bronze Age/Classical or medieval mindset and processes, even with emancipation of women (or, at least, precedents), it feels bland for me. Same goes for the exact same modern problems in futuristic settings.
PS:
I can go by any legitimate pronoun, nickname or character name, even reveal my true name and identity, if you care about this stuff. As a kid I dreamed of being a dragon and cross played since an early age, so, who am I to judge. Just don’t be stalking creep or preach the only valid point of view and I’m cool with you
