Bio

Hi I'm Vey, love to write and do casual to advanced RP.
Mature enough for adult topics and also a bilingual of Indonesian and English.

I live around UTC+7 with no DST zone, that would be around 10-14 hours difference with y'all folks around the US.
I'll be spending my time for creative writing and immediate responses around 8-11 PM local time, except for weekends in which I would likely press the refresh button expecting replies in real time, lol.

So there finally Hikari saw the coupe car turning on the intersection and slowed down as it approached her. She could finally close her umbrella, her silver hair was likely enough for the driver to notice that it was her. Hikari did not bring along her cruiser motorcycle, a help from fellow member was necessary for her transport. She had previously reached this place using an executive taxi service that her client ordered to pick her from a previously designated place, already gowned in her kimono. Now that her client was gone, she needed to use another means to get away.

Hearing the words her fellow just said, Hikari responded with her chuckle. “Of course Unagi-chan, I’m bringing my work along,” said her as she put her hips down on the car seat beside the driver. “I have everything I need to impersonate him through his digital biometrics, my software scanned his cards, then there’s his genetic material I got from the trace of his saliva on my lips and more on my neck, then his fingerprints on my skin especially around my bosoms he probably liked to squeeze, and his retina pattern on… well, don’t you worry, I did not gouge his eyes.” Hikari told her fellow all these things casually, sometimes with a slipped smile of prankish nature.

“It’s always comfortable to sit inside your car, Unagi-chan, would you allow me to take a rest? I might have a little session of meditation until you reach the base, or a nap if you prefer the term that Butterfly-san would like to use… don’t let me bother your driving.” Hikari took a long breath, a pair of deep inhale and exhale as she leaned onto the car seat and calmed herself.

“Out of nowhere, the mind comes forth.” Hikari recited a koan, then went into a deep silence.

Suzy

Calmly having herself seated on an operation table, Suzy awaited the medtech preparing his stuffs to begin the surgical maintenance on her. She knew that the man who owned this workshop had his knacks in this trade. A VIP appointment had been made, especially for this young woman, allowing Suzy to personally meet the cyber-surgeon face to face, and for him to directly treat the delicate stuffs Suzy had inside her. The cybernetics implants Suzy had herself embedded were some serious stuffs, a perfect grade of high rarity. It required a person of special skills to take care of its maintenance.

Having all the set of her cybernetic implants inside her stomach cavity, Suzy had her shirt raised to allow some parts of her midriff exposed. The porcelain skin she had on the surface of her abdomen looked so human, unless for the interface socket on her navel and some neon indicators that looked like a pair of colorful beauty spots beside it. Suzy had never thought to ever put any cybernetic implants to augment her physical performance. She loved the natural aesthetics of her body, sculpted from the disciplined routine of exercise, dieting, and beauty cares. The mechanical part Suzy had was closer to a necessity rather than purpose.

“You’re ready?” Gecko asked, the medtech who owned this workshop and all the equipment inside it.

Without any words nor delay, Suzy’s abdominal implant received her own brain signal that demanded it to expose its inner part. The sequence was quite complicated, but it had a resemblance as if a flower bud bloomed out of her navel. Some exposed internal parts jutted out around the center of Suzy’s midriff, along with a hollowed cavity of her stomach where her implants were positioned. Gecko followed, with him flexing the mechanical fingers of his right hand. Soon enough, each of his fingers got separated from the digits, transforming into mechanical apparatus of micro-sized scalpels, clamps, graspers, and many other things necessary for a surgery connected to his hand through tendril-like cables. The medtech quickly utilized those gadgets to operate on Suzy’s abdominal implants in unison.

“Gasp! Uuuh!” Suzy let her groan of agony among the twitches and shudders her muscles made, reacting to the apparatus being inserted to her.

“Hold on, princess, you’re the one asking me not to apply any anaesthesis… do you need something to hold or bite?”

“Quiet, Gecko!”

“You’re also the one who gave me an idea of keeping your nerve ends intact with all these implants.”

“I said, be quiet, just do your maintenance, ouch!”

“Just a little bit more, it seems that no replacement of component is necessary, they’re still fine… I like the way you keep your body fat percentage under control, princess, some people would possibly got their fat clumping around their delicate cyberwares.”

“I don’t know if that’s a compliment.”

“Hardware check done” said Gecko as he retracted the tendril-like cable from Suzy’s cybernetic implants. The young woman’s abdomen returned to as it was before, with the cavity closing and the jutting out parts retracted inside. The spots around Suzy’s umbilical socket turned on, indicating that the operating system of her cyberware had just booted up. “Now it’s for the firmware check, this might tickle a bit, princess” said Gecko as he plugged a cable pin into Suzy’s umbilical socket. Suzy twitched, reacting to the ticklish sensation when the Gecko pushed his the cable plug, then relaxed herself as the monitor beside her showed a diagnosis run for her system. “Seems fine, no reports for runtime error, no bad sector, and reasonable amount of computing resource utilization… you’re still good for action.” Gecko then finished the sequence and plugged the cable out of Suzy’s umbilical port.

“Thanks, Gecko,” said Suzy as she exhaled, relieved that the process was finally concluded.

“It’s always my pleasure to help you, princess… anyway, I guess we can move on to your other request.”

“Now you’re the fixer.” Suzy said as she lowered her shirt to cover her exposed part and stepped down from the operating table.

“As much as I can, well look at this, you might find this one interesting, Suzy.”

Suzy looked at the holographic monitor Gecko showed her. There was a dossier of what looked like to be a man who had been heavily modified in cybernetics. “Praying Mantis… a mercenary?” Suzy asked as she scanned the profile.

“A soloist, an assassin for hire.”

“You’re sure he’s connected to the Conglomerate?”

“Well, I hired some net-runners and they managed to pluck this dossier from the lawmen’s database; we found this interesting fella under the case handled by this particular Hiro Nishida, though he lacked the necessary data to profile him; and what the detective had missed, I found a way to discover it.”

“You infiltrated what?”

“I have my confidence the people I hired are not that sloppy, these lawmen won’t be able to track them to us.”

“That’s relaxing, I don’t want to directly get in conflict with the local enforcers.”

“You can always settle down like me, open a business firm with less risk.”

“You know I can’t do that, as long as this Conglomerate still have their grasp in this city.”

“To each their own, princess, as always.”

“I like to have you as my ally, Gecko, thanks… now there’s this Praying Mantis I need to take care about, and this lawman officer Hiro Nishida who might notice if this person would suddenly be gone.”

“Be careful, princess, don’t rush, the true monster you’re facing is… big.”
Su-Cheong

Bare minimum for quick operation, so Su-Cheong believed she was in such situation. However, this was what the young woman had been trained to adapt. Being cut from the rest of the team with no intel from high-ups to rely upon was the way any strategists would inflict against common soldiers to render them incapable in completing their tasks. However, Su-Cheong was not an ordinary soldier. The Program had given her the necessary training to keep her going independently, both to survive and to complete the mission as much as she could.

Su-Cheong understood that the situation might render herself deprived from any backup she needed, however urgent or necessary it might seem. She prepared her mind to establish a clear pathway that she could use to reach her second objective. The chaotic formation at the valley was her opportunity; Su-Cheong decided to disguise herself as one of the Black Flag soldier. The commando personnel scattered around her who had been shot from the distance, seemingly by Lasagna himself, offered another chance for her to take their gear for her disguise. However, these kind of personnel might have some complicated procedures and code-signs which Su-Cheong had likely not recognized well.

The young woman chose to slide down into the wooded valley, where the company formation of the soldiers posted on the mountain scattered. These people gave her more opportunity for her to blend in, along with spare weapons, ammunition, and equipment to loot. Her PDW should be used with discretion as Su-Cheong needed their gears intact, especially the uniform for her disguise. Like a prowling predatory animal hunting her prey, Su-Cheong approached her target, the tree formation hid her well enough. She watched the movements of her targets, their pattern, and her chance to take them one by one. Su-Cheong only needed one uniform for her disguise, something that an officer would wear, and she had determined the leader of this platoon to be her special prey.

Though these soldiers moved in groups –a fireteam so Su-Cheong calculated, their formation seemed to be less methodical. This woman was able to quickly eliminate any soldiers who got isolated from the rest of their teammates. A tree blocked their line of sight, shot! A straggler got lured, shot! The armor-piercing bullets Su-Cheong had for her silenced PDW was enough to gradually wipe an entire unit. A personnel went down, followed by the teammate, then an entire fireteam, then an entire squad. An increase of awareness built up on their comm-links, but Su-Cheong’s software infiltrated their radio frequency and mimicked the dummy status report every time the platoon commander ordered for one.

Regardless, she had to be quick; Su-Cheong took an explosive device and put it in some place, then bolted away to other direction. The time-controlled activation mechanism triggered the explosion and took away the focus of the platoon HQ team toward where the explosion came from. Su-Cheong quickly eliminated the platoon HQ team with her sequence of shooting. The commander noticed the rest of his team were eliminated and ran away toward the less open ground. He thought he was more secure, but a hunter would have more chance to get close.

Su-Cheong quickly attacked when she was able to see the commander’s back. Using the harness Su-Cheong had on her, she rolled it around her target’s neck and tightly pulled it. The process had some moments of violent reactions from the chocked commander, so much for being stealthy for Su-Cheong. He eventually stopped moving, the commander’s gear was intact without even one bullet hole. Su-Cheong quickly disguised herself as the platoon commander, adapting to the rank he had possessed and any numbers he once had around his uniform. The recording software she ran previously was able to sample his muffled scream. Beneath the goggle and mask Su-Cheong wore no one would notice that this was not the platoon commander the enemy supposed to be.

“Dollface to Queen reporting, approaching second objective, False Flag applied, I say again False Flag applied, over.”

Su-Cheong had very little ammunition for her PDW, but luckily the standard weaponry she was using for her disguise had a lot of spare ammunitions for her to loot from the eliminated soldiers around her. The assault rifle she was holding had an option of automatic shoots; she preferred to have it in semi-auto mode regardless. The weight of her weapons burdened her for an infiltration-type mission so she had to drop some, including her PDW as she preferred the precision of her handgun. “So much for a stealth…” Su-Cheong hated when she had to drop the gear she had prepared from home base.
well, imho the "New" in front of the name implies the existence of the "Old" one in the "old world" and the longing of the founding citizens for their old homeland with realization of not being able to go back, not unlike the divorced couples

help, I'm overthinking
uhm, tag, well, what's the best word for this nuance?

+Spooky Alleyways(?)
Well, about the city, I'd go with somewhere with less deep history in it, an urban melting pot that had only sprawled not earlier than 1-2 centuries before the start point. Immigrants participated actively in its shaping and even the question of "where do you come from" would commonly get the answer of "here" regardless on the ethnicities of the one being asked. Economic gap was prominent so there could also be some noticeable portions of both skyscrapers and ghetto.

I'm quite open on how segregated it could be, ranging from nonexistent, to like having stereotypical gangs based on ethnic groups or other kind of groupings, to even having separated communities with their own languages that one living in it might get inspired to create a conlang in order to unite the people (yea, I know Zamenhof).

Particularly for my character, maybe the City needs a Chinatown.
Interesting, this feels more like writing my own story and possibly collaborating with someone's characters

@Kiragan_Natsuki any GM-ing you're going to do?
like maybe introducing a looming threat or an integrating factor for the characters
wait, how are we players supposed to do things?

just go with our characters' motivation and goal, then match them with the setting in OOC; or try to get involved in whatever GM's character do?
