I think, for me, it's mostly a gameplay thing. Like, I'm not usually a big fan of third person shooters, so that detracted a lot for me. Army of Two and Gears of War were probably the only two that I enjoyed off the top of my head, but that was mostly because they were coop action games. xD

So coop multiplayer games are usually what I play, like Warhammer: Vermintide, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, or Killing Floor 2. Single player games are mostly RPG though, like Elder Scrolls: Morrowind or Shadowrun, but I switch between that and strategy games.

I couldn't ever buy into the Last of Us or Uncharted, honestly. I am slightly interested in UC4 though. xD

I think the only thing to note about High Elves is that they are mana addicts, meaning they are addicted to using magic. I'm not sure if this is going to be reinforced though, so it might just be a minor thing. xD

Summary of High Elf/Blood Elf history I found/explanation for mana addiction:

"So way back in time there was only one continent on Azeroth. And in the middle was this big ass lake that was just full of magic (for...reasons). A bunch of trolls set up shop next to this lake and became Night Elves. About 10,000 years ago Night Elf society was stratified into two groups, the Highborne who lived by the Well of Eternity (that's what they called the big ass lake) and we're all about using the magic from it, and everyone else.

So basically the War of the Ancients happen and the Well implodes and yadda yadda yadda (but not before Illidan fills 7 vials up with magic well water). And Malfurion is now in charge and he bans the use of well magic. So Illidan says "screw you bro" and pours 3 vials into the pool at the base of Nordrassil and creates a new well of eternity but the dragons bless this one and it's all cool.

However there's this group of Highborne who are like "wtf bro? No magic?" To which Malfurion responds "you can like it or gtfo". So they gtfo and Dath'remar Sunstrider gets a vial from Illidan and they get on a boat and go east to find a new home.

Dath'remar and his Quel'dorei or "high elves" eventually end up on Quel'thelas and Dath'remar pours out the vial making the Sunwell. And then the High Elves live basking in the awesomeness that is limitless magic (and extended though not immortal lifespans, though that's probs just an elf thing not a Sunwell thing) for ~10,000 years.

Then Arthas happens, he marches the scourge through Quel'thelas, kills 90% of the High Elves, and destroys the Sunwell. As it happens, when you live all day every day surrounded by and finely attuned to this overwhelming wash of magic you become "addicted" to it. (Like how people are "addicted" to like, oxygen).

So Kael'thas comes home from Dalaran (he was one of the head mages there), appoints Lor'themar as regent while he goes and tried to find a solution to the whole "no more magic" thing. He ends up teaming up with Illidan and learning how to tap magic from Fel, and "capturing" a naaru. So he swings home to Silvermoon, drops these things off (which is why green eyes, there's a bit of Fel taint to the Blood elves) and then goes back to Netherstorm where he goes mad with power.

Eventually the whole BC storyline happens, and the captured Naaru Muru is used to reignite the Sunwell which now emits this sort of holy/arcane blend of awesomeness and the problem is solved.

Tl;dr: nobody else was exposed to pure arcane magic to the level and consistency that the high elves were."

A high elf is probably one of the easier characters to make since they only stem from one place: Quel'thalas.
The lore for them is fairly accessible too. So that's where I would start, if you want to steam line a character.

I enjoyed Hearthstone when it first came out, but then the first expansion happened and the power creep was REAL. xD That really turned me away from it, but they seem to be going a good route in the latest patch though with Standard vs. Wild format.
I've been playing Duelyst a bit lately, which is similar yet very different.
Granted, I still play Yugioh too. I'm a card game aficionado. xD

I'll have to give that a read since I have raged about BC's handling of Illidan for far too long. xD
Otherwise, that time for WoW was fairly good if I recall. I remember enjoying the talent system they had, and now its very cookie cutter. I'm still debating if I'm going to reactivate my account for Legion.

Physical Description:

Standing at 5'7", Norwyn's height does nothing to impress. Neither does his lanky frame which, while well developed for climbing and sneaking, is hardly anything to admire. Nonetheless, his charming facial features, cerulean eyes, and stylishly groomed hair make up for his lack of height and bulk.

Generally, Norwyn will dawn blackened leather armor, complete with a sleek hood, to vanish in the shadows if the need arises. However, his wardrobe will change depending on the scenario. Notably, the man appears to have a permanent albeit small smile on his face at all times. This smile often grows in the face of danger, as if risking his life brings him absolute joy. When he walks, Norwyn emanates an aura of confidence, but not one that radiates arrogance.

Personality:

Lecherous is the first word that most would use to describe Norwyn. His hungry, azure eyes are always on the feminine form, licking his lips at the first sign of curves. He will woo and lavish the woman of his fancy with gifts until they collapse into his arms. The worst part, however, is that he is incredibly persistent and he does not take no for an answer. Should he be dejected, assaulted, or imprisoned, Norwyn will continue to hound his prey, no matter the circumstances.

Outside of his lust for vixens, Norwyn is something of a thrill seeker. Some might even call him suicidal. Sneaking into and out of heavily guarded structures, challenging brutish ogres to one-on-one duels, and stirring up an irate mob are all examples of what he would consider "fun". Despite the havoc he tends to wreak, he remains a mostly modest man who enjoys a good laugh, at least until a woman appears in the picture.

As one would expect of someone in his roguish profession, Norwyn is a rather crafty person. He is tactful and remains aware of his surroundings, should he need to make a quick escape. Moreover, the man is quite sociable and can strike up a conversation with near about anyone, considering there isn't any type of person he doesn't like.

Background:

As long as sailors have existed, Norwyn's family have been a particularly nautical bunch. His father was a sailor, his father's father was a sailor, and so on and so forth. Every generation had their sea dog, and a few managed to have relatively high positions within Kul Tiras' navy. His father happened to be one of them: Admiral Burgess Blackwood. Another one of his famous descendants was Captain Agustin Blackwood, one of the original Stalwart members that rose up against the Amani.

Born an only child with great expectations to become a great sailor like his descendants, Norwyn showed great promise at an early age, but he had a penchant for making trouble. He was always sneaking around and going places he shouldn't go, much to his parents' dismay. By the time he was 11, the City Guard knew he quite well.

And the older he got, the worse his behavior became. Norwyn became involved with a small gang of wannabe pirates in his teenage years, who put a long sword in his hand and taught him the basics of subterfuge. While he had no need for booty, it was something he did simply for fun. He quickly learned he was a natural at being a criminal, the complete opposite of what his family wanted. Within a few short years, his petty band of pirates had dispersed after a raid went wrong and most of the crew was incarcerated for a year.

While Norywn was one of the few that managed to escape imprisonment, his love of women would be his undoing. Admiral Blackwood was rumored to be in a favorable position to become Lord Admiral Daelin's right hand man. Unfortunately, Norwyn caused a bit of a commotion when he was discovered bedding a close cousin to the Proudmoores, which devastated his family's reputation. Suddenly they were all known as promiscuous miscreants, a family that thrived off eroticism and perversion. It didn't take long for the Lord Admiral to turn his favor to someone else after the rumors began to fly. Having had enough of his son's mischief, Burgess disowned Norwyn and shipped him off to live in the tiny town of Brittlepond with his uncle.

Uncle Norwell welcomed his nephew into his home with open arms, slightly distraught about Norwyn's debauchery, but nevertheless forgiving. Unlike his younger brother, Norwell was not motivated by prestige or standing. Rather he was a simple man who wanted nothing more than the happiness of all, although Norwyn always thought that he seemed a bit secretive. Being something of a scoundrel, Norwell saw his nephew's potential and taught him everything he knew about the roguish arts.

In the present day, Norwyn has lost his uncle in the Capital City's collapse. On the discovery of his uncle's will, he has learned of the Stalwart and that Norwell's place among them has now passed to him.
