[⟐]Name:Magni Thorson
[⟐]Alias:Magnus Foster
[⟐]Codename:N/A - Magni is sufficient
[⟐]Gender:Male
[⟐]Age:24
[⟐]Ethnicity:Half-Asgardian, Half-Midgardian
[⟐]Place of Origin:Asgard
[⟐]Sexuality:Homosexual
[⟐]Powers:▣ Superhuman Durability
This boy can take an absolute beating, even for an Asgardian - though not on par with his father. While he isn't invincible, Magnus can take more hits than he should ever have the right to. So, while he's able to get through most dangerous situations alive, he knows that there's a bit of luck in there when it comes to surviving things he shouldn't. He doesn't take his chances. Regardless, he's able to he's able to take a single punch from the Hulk without being absolutely obliterated. That's not to say he won't be injured or disoriented, though, it just won't severely injure him.
▣ Electrokinesis
At the moment, Magnus can only control lightning; he can't create it. However, he definitely has the means to due to the fact that electricity is an abundant feature in the modern world. He can control a small amount, about 10 million volts of electricity - 1/10 the power of a natural lightning bolt. It sounds like a lot, but it's actually only capable of stunning a person. Most of his shocks depend on the Amperes of the electrical currents he's using, most of which are below 0.1 milliamps which isn't enough to kill.
▣ Superhuman Endurance/Stamina
It's essentially how long this guy can stand before exhausting. He can go for twice as long as a normal human doing physical, strenuous work and endure pain for even longer. That's the essential gist of the power. It's nothing special, just allows him to keep standing under pressure longer to protect those he's entrusted to.
[⟐]Skills of Note:▣ Expert Swordsman and Shield Bearer
Being trained by his father in combat has its benefits: Magni can wield a sword to an expert level, but he excels the most at using a shield not only to block, but also to parry and attack. While Magni has many who are exceedingly better at him when it comes to the art of swordmanship, not many people can find themselves matching his shield bearing abilities. This particular skill gives him the upper hand in a lot of melee situations because people expect the sword to be the danger, not the protection.
▣ Archery
A pretty basic knowledge of how to shoot an arrow. He's moderately accurate. Nothing special, but definitely something to note. It could very well be built upon, since Magni has all around potential.
▣ Physics and Biology
While his mother is an esteemed astrophysicist and that's where his roots tend to spread toward, Jane always encouraged her son to pursue whatever caught his mind. When away from his mother for a substantial amount of time, Magni often took towards the plants of the world he and his father had been secluded to. Most of his time outside of battling for his life and surviving had been surveying and cataloging what he could. Once he'd arrived back on Earth (and Asgard) he'd been encouraged to explore this curiosity and so it took him to studying their components rather than what they did. Botany intrigued him, but it was more the molecules and the composition that made his mind spark. Thus, most of Magni' scientific prowess is in the study of life and its make up. Of course, he still loves the idea of physics and learning and researching with his mother, which he's done countless times after coming back.
▣ Internet Savvy
Let it be known that Darcy Lewis is the best teacher when it comes to tumblr, reddit, twitter, and all other platforms of social media. Magni definitely knows his way around a computer now because of her and not only that, but his curiosity can never be sated and thus he's made a numerous amount of internet connections that he's more than proud of. Need a place to lay low? He knows about ten areas in the local vicinity that are willing to hold a few rag tag superheroes until the coast is clear.
▣ Survival
Due to his past, Magni has had a need to hone his survival skills above all else. That means adaptability and improvisation that allows him to survive for longer than should be possible. This gives him the skills to scavenge and use materials for whatever purpose his mind can think of. Noticing things out of the ordinary and knowing when to pull out and when to go into a situation. Judging the odds and working on the fly.
[⟐]Mental Evaluation:The first thing anyone should notice about Magni Thorson: the man takes politeness with a seriousness that rivals a business man. That is to say, Magni approaches people with respect and kindness before anything else. For some reason that surprised me; it shouldn't, knowing his father acts just the same way. Unlike Thor, however, Magni knows social cues rather well and any sense of 'awkward Asgardian' that happens looks genuine - yet, having years of psychology under my belt, it's easy to see that those 'slip ups' are an act. Why he feels the need to put on a show remains unknown to me. Possibly a diversion tactic. To know that this man has his mother's brains would possibly put him at risk, make people take him as the intellectual threat that he is.
Optimism and happiness make up most of Magni's demeanor. Nothing offends him, makes him look down on a situation, nor does anything truly upset him. Having been raised by only his father, that comes as no surprise, yet the surprise lies in how he's come to deal with his past. When asked about Loki, the man seemed to visibly brighten, eager to tell me various tales of his uncle. That same blindness plagued his father, however, maybe it's less blindness and more a will to forgive. The jaded cynic in me wants to call him naive and a fool, yet maybe I could learn from such willing forgiveness. Maybe so, because this man hasn't forgotten and that's a telling sign when asked how he felt about his betrayal.
Once the topic has dried up in the next two seconds, Magni is eager to move on. To talk about them any wonders of Midgard and how he's staid with his mother for most of his time spent back in this realm. Knowing they formed a ready bond seems a great step forward into recovering the damaged mind of this young Asgard. While he smiles bright and heavy and his eyes haven't lost a wink of sleep, the shifting nature of the subject and the eagerness to face the door are telling signs.
When asked what he was afraid of, he actually stuttered and furrowed his brows before answering. His voice took on an unusual soft quality and he refused to stop scratching the back of his ear while he spoke. Bugs. A crippling fear of insects renders him incapable of logical thought. A man who could quite readily take a punch from The Hulk afraid of cockroaches? I hid the shock from my face well and he went on to tell me that he wasn't a fan of bright, fluorescent lights, either and asked if the overhead lights could be shut off in favor of the soothing yellow of the lamp lights. I agreed and did just so. Magni seems to like the quiet of the night more than anything, and he goes on to explain how he was so eager to take him mother out to gaze at the stars in Colorado. With our time up, I made sure he went left to see Dr. Yuen next door for his physical. A peculiar man with an eagerness to hide the damage that had been done growing up. So ready to forget about it while still remembering what it made of him. It's left me scratching my head.
(Subject suffers from acute paranoia and PTSD. I've scheduled regular therapy sessions and disguised them as ongoing evaluations for SHIELD agents. He caught on after the second session ended, unfortunately. But he's still agreed to finish out the semester's allotted schedule)
[⟐]Physical Evaluation:(There's an incriminating amount of drool on this clipboard. The good doctor, one of my colleges, can't keep it between his legs apparently. At least this one isn't a minor)
A tall specimen (and a specimen, at that) standing at 6'3" and weighing in a whopping 233 lbs. Musclebound and stunning, practically shining with ethereal light under our godawful fluorescent fixtures. Man is blonde; shaggy hair; shorter on the sides with a floppy top. There's a large dusting of blonde facial hair that covers most of his face. Eyes appear small, shrewd with a penchant of looking through people and objects than at them. They seem narrowed perpetually, slanted toward the nose with a curious tilt. Branching from his straight nose, flared and bulky to add to the hard lines of his face, the subject has a numerous amount of freckles dotting his nose and high set cheekbones (visible whenever he smiles as his cheeks have a slight puffy quality). As stated before, his complexion is impeccable - a light hue of pink tinged with a light, bronze tan that make his face, in particular, shine with golden quality.
Honestly speaking, it is of no surprise that a god's child would boast a physique that could take an entire house of delicious, carb filled donuts and still retain every sinew of muscle without gaining one ounce of fat. Well rounded throughout his entire body, the subject is at peak human health, in terms of physique. Hard muscle lines every inch of his body, mostly comprising of lean muscle rather that allows him a lithe build over a stocky one. It helps that his incredible height stretches the fair amount of muscle out in an even spread. There's literally nothing wrong with this man's body (other than maybe the lopsidedness of his ears and the terribly high arches of his feet; would make a great dancer) and that's apparently par for the course for demi-god to be superheroes. (Bound to make a lot of people jealous or ogle - that's a given. Have you seen his dad?)
[⟐]Biography:Despite the potential behind parenthood, childhood hadn't come easy to Magni. Upon the realization that Thor's maiden, Jane Foster, would bare a halfling child to be celebrated by father and mother and all of Asgard alike, a jealousy struck Loki in the very fabric of his being. They would love this child simply because his brother sired it - that they did. A celebration, a feast of the ages, took place the day after the maiden Foster bore her child. The beginnings of an elaborate scheme bore itself in the heart of a frost giant, seeking host in the warrior woman Sif, seething in her own sorrow.
Disguised in the throes of party goers, Loki waved a hand over the mistress still clad in armor and caked in the blood of battle. A seed had been planted, her eyes focused on the baby nestled in the finest of Asgard's finery, held tight in Jane's arms. Her jealousy would spiral into a haze where green and red colored her vision, as Loki intended.
That night, Lady Sif tread softly through the palace towers, hovering over the slumbering bodies of Jane and Thor. Loki stood concealed in the shadows of the balcony and when Sif wavered, he pulled the final string. Like a puppet, she turned on a pivot to face the crib that held young Magni. Her eyes hazed a visible green and when the baby stirred, her steps clanking on the marble floor, Thor awoke. Startled to see Sif with the child, bleary eyed and half-awake, he thought nothing of it until his eyes landed on the wavering shadows on the edge of the moonlight. Sif struggled with every step, fighting the control Loki had over her mind. With one final push, he finally dominated her mind long enough to force her on the balcony railings, staring down into the abyss of space beneath. Eyes a glowing green, Sif made to plummet, but found herself caught in Thor's grasp. She buckled, not understanding what was happening, and let the baby slip from her grasp. Thor cried out, throwing Sif into the wall behind him before rushing over the edge in a desperate dive to save his child.
Cries erupted above him as Sif gained control over her body once more and wrestled Loki to the ground while Jane rushed to watch Thor and their child plummet into the abyss that swirled beneath Asgard. Mjolnir burst through the walls too late, even as it rushed toward Thor's grip, the abyss swallowed him and his child to an unspeakable death. Or perhaps, worse.
The abyss threw Thor and his child through the nine worlds, ten times over before finally throwing them into a hellish scape of rock and barren earth. Disoriented, Thor scrambled to check on his son, only to see him having slumbered through the entire ordeal. Water, food, shelter, all seemed daunting in the sweltering heat of two suns blackening the sky. He took to finding shelter first, coming upon a deep cave system not far from where he'd been thrown into the black dirt. It got slightly better from there.
Beneath the large layer of crust, a lush landscape thrived in a cavernous system of giant rooms filled with bright, glowing trees and an assortment of glowing, insectoid wildlife. Knowing this, Thor could very well tell this didn't set itself along the lines of Yggdrasil and the nine-realms. This could be anywhere in the universe, in the dimension, and it sunk like a stone in Thor's stomach. From there his adventure started - raising a child in an unknown world would be a challenge of its own. Finding a way out seemed like an impossibility.
So many years passed from that point. Hardships grew and grew as little Magni did. Thor did everything he could to teach the boy everything he knew. The need to see this through, to find a way home to his dying breath, drove Thor to treat his son as a man earlier than he should have. One of the regrets that plague him still had been stealing away Magni's childhood. It had to be done if they were to survive the harsh, alien world. That thinking did little to assuage his guilty conscience.
More years passed like that, with Thor always pushing his son to be better. To keep his head up and eyes open. Nothing could surprise them from the moment Magni stepped into gear, let the paranoia that plagued his father take a hold of him, as well. With age came a crippling realization that any moment could be their last - any slip up or mistake could be the end of it all. It bore into Magni's mind until surviving was all he thought of. That mindset saved both him and his father from many scuffles and traps laid out by giant beasts looking for flesh to sink their mandibles into.
Things stagnated from there, until Thor found himself falling into hopeless despair. The hearty god couldn't bare to smile any longer and that took him down. His mind had been elsewhere during a scouting run away from their barely there shelter. A crawling terror of a beast erupted from the foliage above, where he was supposed to be watching. Magni cried out, reaching his hands toward his father in a bid to save him. Thor took that second to step back and the creature crashed into his side with the force of a train. He'd cushioned the blow enough for it to be glancing, at best, and let himself sprawl and roll onto the hard stone.
That refused to be the last of it and when Thor regained his balance more descended from the bright tree tops to pounds and coil around their would be prey. Survival tore through both father and son and they fought to keep themselves up even when escape didn't seem likely. Surrounded on all sides and battered and bruised from nearly an hours worth of defending and pushing the beasts back, things looked bleak. Thor could feel his muscles surrendering and his mind slip further into hopelessness. Magni watched the lights of his father's eyes dull in the face of battle, buried under the dirt and grime of rolling in the cavern floors.
It begged him further to surrender, give up, succumb to the darkness edging in the back of his mind. A coil of a creature broke his thoughts, diving between them to cut Magni off from his father. He didn't notice them eyeing Thor, seeing the weakness settle into his bones and that was all they needed to act. Rage replaced the despair that grabbed his mind and Magni rushed into a battle he knew would likely be his last. Raising his arms high, he aimed to shove the makeshift weapon in his hands between the chitin of the millipede like creature. To Magni's surprise, that didn't happen.
A crack of thunder erupted above them, clouds of thunder forming, a roiling, purpling bruise on the grey canvas of the cavern's roof. Another crack and something parted the clouds with arcs of lightning brushing their tendrils along a sleek silver object rushing toward Magni's hand. One last crack boomed until a ringing replaced all the sound in Magni's ears. A hammer crushed the stone beneath him, a heavy shockwave throwing everything back in a radius. The trees cracked and the creatures howled and Thor cried out, eyes watering and the light filling the edge of his pale skin.
Worthy. That word rang through both minds simultaneously.
The disorientation brought on by the shock and surprise of Mjolnir choosing him, of all people, wore off as soon as the creatures around them began shaking off their shock, as well. Thor rushed to his son, nodding toward the ceiling where Mjolnir had ripped a hole through space-time itself. They both gripped the handle of the mighty hammer and let it fling them toward their destination.
To think, a hammer bound by worthiness would rip through time and space just to get to the one most deserving of its power. Of course, the hammer still clung to Thor in the long run, the fact that it would force itself through years and space to find the hand that called it - Magni felt the pierce of something hit his chest. It felt explainable, or like acknowledging what it was that gripped him so tightly would diminish the feeling altogether. He bottled it up in a smile and let the hammer guide them home.
Once they'd been flung into the sweltering Nevada desert, surrounding by a swarm of friends and family, the hammer transferred itself back into Thor's grip and ceased its rocket through dimensions. Maybe the family thing hadn't been so instant; Magni remembered blacking out for but a moment before he awoke to the sounds of shuffling feet and curious eyes. His eyes settled on his father beside him, stretched out in a SHIELD medical stretcher along with him. After seeing Thor's breath carry his chest, Magni let exhaustion take him once more.
It took the both of them years upon Midgard to repair their addled minds. Yet, Magni still felt broken and as if he didn't belong. He could tell those years spent in that hell still plagued his father's mind. Thor's eyes often dulled and he stared into the middle distance with a quiet disposition unlike him. So much that many of his friends shared their concern. Thor had changed, the man himself damaged, yet unbroken beyond the wide, genuine smiles.
Magni took to his mother and to Midgard itself more than he thought he would. The stories of Jane passed down by his father made his heart ache for a mother to read to him, teach him, make him yearn for knowledge and comfort. It took her time to get used to a fully grown boy having only spent three years away from a baby she thought was lost forever. Of course, that stage came and went and before they knew it, both Magni and Jane grew terribly close. He was more of a mother's boy than he would have thought, but it wasn't hard to admit.
Prior to his recruitment to SHIELD, Magni spent the months in preparation in Asgard, finding peace amongs the Vanir and the Aesir that crowded the streets, the halls of Valhalla and the peaceful fields that Frigga reigned. He bore no ill will to Loki, who had atoned for his crime, nor for Sif, an unwitting victim, who refused to look him in the eyes - she knew her guilt showed truer than she'd liked it to. But none of that mattered much in the coming days, where he'd return to Midgard where the multitude of things Darcy taught and showed him would soon come in handy once more.

[⟐]Miscellaneous:▣ Has a deep fear of insects and locks up whenever he sees one of considerable size. The larger it is, the worse the fear.
▣ For years, Magni's considered Darcy Lewis as his best Aunt and tells her so. She basks under the compliments and has taught him many, many things of the Midgardian world. His fascination for technology and Midgard's science has driven him to learn their culture to a vast degree. He's well versed in many movie titles, listens to a numerous amount of pop songs (so much it's kind of sickening), watching a dozen TV shows, tunes into the cooking channel regularly, and has bought way too many 'Keep Calm...' shirts.
▣ Magni will try anything you give him, no matter what. On this front, he's very, very gullible and if you say it's food, he'll eat it. Chances are, he'll enjoy it too.
▣ Always carries his shield on him. And walks around in his armor most of the time. People chalk it up to being Asgardian and not of the world, so he doesn't know many of the social cues. In reality, Magni can't go out without suitable protection, his paranoia cripples him if he's not armed and suited up for combat at a moment's notice.
