Basic InformationName: Astrid Ashbourne
Nickname/Alias/Etc: Breeze
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 107 lbs
Type: First Time Student
AppearanceHair Color:Red
Eye Color:Blue
Ethnicity:Caucasian/Slovak
Physical Appearance:Astrid is tiny. That is the one thing that is said about her the most. Skinny and short it's very easy for her to be missed in a large crowd. When she is not surrounded by 'giants,' as she calls everyone at a normal height, she tends to attract attention. Her hair is bright red, and she loves to keep it down, hanging to around mid-back. The intensity of the color brings out the paleness of her skin, making her seem almost paper white. The only alteration to her pale skin is a series of light freckles on either side of her petite nose. Her face is rather pretty with sharp eyebrows over large sky-blue eyes. Her eyes are always full of curiosity.
As for her non-immediate physical appearances Astrid has a series of piercings. The regular earlobe piercings in addition to three more on the left side, reaching up to the top of her ear. On her belly button she has a piercing of a small heart. Her ears are slightly pointed at the end, which in addition to her size gave her the nickname the elf.
Attire: Astrid's attire mostly consists of t-shirts and jeans. She doesn't care much for dresses or shorts, especially not short shorts. Her favourite color of all time is blue, because she learned somewhere that the color blue brings out positive emotions in people when they see it. When it gets cold she loves wearing hoodies that are way too big for her small size. She thinks it brings out for tiny size, making her look cuter.
PersonalityInnate & Outward Personality:Astrid has always had a personality to match her size. She is jumpy, excited, bubbly, and constantly full of laughter. While not a prankster or a jokester she loves to make people laugh and loves to laugh along side them. On first appearance Astrid is incredibly outgoing, often making new friends with complete strangers. She always had an easy time fitting in at school, and quickly became popular simply because she was so approachable and interesting. She is incredibly accepting of people, not caring about sexuality, gender, or appearance, as long as they don't have a problem with it. However, she does look down on the drugged and depressed.
Occasionally Astrid hits a mood she calls the "rush," but what doctors would just call selective ADD. It is basically a surge of adrenaline she gets when she is excited. As far as she knows it's not linked to any sort of power of hers, but she absolutely loves it. It usually occurs when she is doing something she is interested in involving cognitive thinking. If you can pull her away from her work, she will begin to talk very fast before quickly getting distracted and going straight back into her work.
When describing Astrid, the words often used are curious, observant, energetic, and enthusiastic. She is always ready to go out and do something, anything to keep herself busy. When sitting still she will almost constantly be moving, tapping her fingers, curling her hair, or twirling something between her fingers. Observant is not what is instantly thought of when thinking of Astrid, but anyone who knows her well can see that she is constantly noticing things so as to never miss a moment. This way she can see the bigger picture in a every moment. Contrary to observant, energetic and enthusiastic is easy for people to describe Astrid. She never holds her tongue when an idea comes to mind, and doesn't mind telling it to the first person who is willing to listen.
Where Astrid's personality has it's downfall is when she is put into leadership positions. For some reason her approachability and popularity seem to make herself an appropriate candidate for leading, despite her hating it. She finds that it often is boring, repetitive, and monotonous. What Astrid finds most important is the need to feel like she is pushing boundaries and exploring untouched ideas. Anything that hasn't been done before, she is willing to try.
Relationships for Astrid have always been easy. She seems to believe that it is her height that is most appealing about her, but for most people it's just that she doesn't make them nervous. Unfortunately while starting relationships have been easy, the in between hasn't. Astrid puts tries too hard in the relationship, trying for perfectionism. She changed herself and pushed her personal boundaries in her relationships for the sake of her significant other. For the most part she didn't mind pushing her own boundaries, just that she had done it for the wrong reason. After a breakup she often places herself under sole responsibility, crushing her self-esteem.

History/Bio:Astrid's mother and father were both half Russian. They met through an arranged meeting that their parents had set up. It was instantly love at first sight. They married quickly before moving to the United States to raise their children. Olivia was born California. She was Astrid's bigger sister, not only because of her age, but she was a giant when standing next to her little sister. It made family portraits a nightmare, but for Olivia it only helped her as she was so involved in sports. Astrid was born three years after her sister. During school, Astrid excelled. Her fellow classmates liked her and so did the teachers. She did great in all of her classes besides English. Her work wasn't always done neatly, or on time, or done at all, but she understood all the concepts. Before long Astrid was pushing herself beyond what her school could offer by involving herself in fairs and maker programs. Still, though, she hadn't found something that she was genuinely curious about and that could keep her interested for more than a week.
Before her junior year of high school, Astrid's father announced he would not pay for her college tuition. It wasn't that he couldn't afford it, but wanted to build character in his only child. Maybe add a little bit of maturity too. After thinking about it for a day, Astrid enrolled herself in computer programming. Throughout that year she passed up her fellow classmates and by the end of the year had developed a series of apps and programs that had made her wealthy enough to pay for college. Not only did it help her get money to pay for future tuition, but by the next year a tech company came up to her offering a job writing code for them. Excited she accepted the job proposal.
It was because of this job that Astrid first discovered her power. It was Saturday and for the third time that week she was later for work. Sleepy eyed she struggled into a pair of pants, before shrugging on some random shirt hanging on her door. Grabbing a cup of coffee to go she hopped out the door running for the bus. Out of breathe she arrived at the station, just to see it pull away from the curb. Yelling and waving her hands she took off after it, trying to catch the attention of the driver. Too late the man turned to bus away from her. Astrid continued to run before her foot caught in a piece the sidewalk and she tripped. Falling towards the ground she prepared herself to tumbled and scratch her face up, when she suddenly landed on soft carpet. Confused she looked around, finding herself lying on the floor of her office.
It took Astrid a while to figure out what happened. Somehow when she was falling she had managed to teleport. She was a meta! Excited at her recent findings she pushed herself to teleport again. Day after day she got better and better, slowly teleporting greater distance. And of course like any teenager with new superpowers, Astrid did not always use them for good. Not to say that she was stealing, or killing people, just midnight icecream visits became a regularity for her. Before too long she was contacted by Academy 218 about joining their school. It was far from home, but the exciting opportunity it offered was irresistible. She couldn't wait to meet more people like her and advance her power!

Power: Astrid has the ability to teleport to anywhere she has ever been in her life, within range. After a sharp pop or crackling sound, she will disappear from one place and into another. She can use this to teleport into the sky for surprise aerial attacks, and teleport away to grab some sort of weapon. In a fight Astrid is very useful as she can provide weapons quickly, or sound alarm systems with ease. When actually fighting Astrid loves to teleport in between attacks. She will usually start with a quick teleport away to grab a bat or tennis racket, before coming back to slam it into her foe. That or just drop stuff on their head. And if you want to grab a nice cold icecream, Astrid is the person to go to.
Limits:Astrid has to be constantly vigilant when she teleports. If she does not have a completely clear image of the place she wanted to teleport there is a chance she can teleport into a solid object. If this were to happen that part of her body that couldn't teleport would get displaced and remain where she previously stood. She found this out when she teleported once and lost half her hair on one side of her head.
Astrid also has a limited range that she can teleport. Currently she can teleport up to around 200 miles, though after she is extremely weak and tired, affecting her teleportation power for weeks after. Once she over exerted herself, teleporting across California(roughly 250 miles) and ended up blacking out and unconscious for over a week. After that she wasn't able to teleport across the room for a month, and hasn't tried anything near that distance since. However she hopes to expand this with training at Academy 218. And as mentioned before she has to have been somewhere before she can teleport there.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks: Astrid teleportation acts much like running. Short distances, a couple yards, are almost effortless. A mile takes concentration. Multiple miles leaves her breathless after, sometimes temporarily blind. Once it gets into the hundreds of miles range it starts to take it's toll on her often causing her to faint. The teleportation exerts itself on every one of her cells creating soreness and complete tiredness after a long day of teleporting.
Other: Has worked with Hector Gambino in his company aiding Metahumans, contributing with a significant amount of code

Sample Post:Astrid stood to the side of the stage talking to her boss about the presentation. He looked exhausted and quite a bit nervous about the upcoming speech she was about to give. Slowly he ran her through the steps that she was going to run by in the presentation. "Alright so first thing you need to do is introduce them to Incretex. Explain to them what it is and wha-" He was cut off by Astrid. She was surging. "Oh yes yes yes yes yes of course." The words tumbled out of her mouth as soon as they came into her mind. "Run them by the Incretex. The mission. Show them everything about it. How it started , ended. Not that it's ended, or anywhere near ending."
"Astrid." Her boss tried to interrupt her back on track. "Then after we introduce them, I'll give them a little preview of the code that has been written. A little sneak peak at what I contributed to it all. You know we have over 12,560 lines of code. Of which I wrote like 2000. Nah probably like 2100. Nope no more like 2200. Yeah that's it im sure more like 2200. Man, thats like 17.5% of the program, i'm going to mention that. Should I mention it? I'm going to mention it anyway." "Astrid." She waved her hand at him, "Yes yes then i'll bring out the demonstration. Got a fancy little button right here. Look, you see? It's nice, big and shiny. Though its green. Why is it green? Green is such an ugly color. Should be blue. Did you know blue helps bring out positive moods in people. Like make them happier and stuff. You should try it. Wear some blue, like a baseball cap or something. But make sure it's bl-"
"ASTRID!" Her boss exclaimed, grabbing her shoulders, just trying to get her to stop talking for one second. He opened his mouth to try to focus her on the big presentation that she was about to give, and before the first word could come out of his mouth, the man on the stage announced Astrid's name. Smiling at her boss she began to hop up the stairs, full of energy and excitement. At the top she turned back to her boss and said, "Break a leg- wait no that's not quite right is it." Shrugging she ran up the last step and into the middle of the stage. Behind her boss dragged a hand across his face, "Oh I'm so screwed."
