Scott ascended the spiral staircase first out of the three and briefly wondered why the old lady even had a spiral staircase, seeing as she couldn’t climb it. Though the invite had indicated she was ‘close to the end’ as it were. She did look old; to the extent such that he momentarily didn’t recognise her at first. Though the way she smiled, called their names, the way she spoke, that was familiar, and for a brief moment Scott had felt like the child he was all those years ago. The child with the outrageous grin in the photo.

After taking a few steps away from the top of the stairs he turned to his fellow ex-classmates. “Hey guys, long time no see, didn’t we look young in those photos!?” He noticed Theodore hauling his bags up the stairs, “Oh hey, sorry man, I coulda given you a hand with those bags of yours, wouldn’t have been a problem for me y’know!” To illustrate his point he indicated his large black luggage case which he was currently casually leaning on. “Though serious question, are those the same glasses you had on in that photo? Hahaha, nah I’m just kiddin’ you man.” He jovially laughed the comment off. “Don’t get me wrong though, I think it’s great you’ve come today – the old lady, when she said your name man, I think she was happiest to see you out of the three of us. I mean, if memory serves me right you were probably the teacher’s pet of the bunch am I right!” He laughed again. “Oh, don’t get me wrong man” he added quickly, “I’m not saying that as a bad thing, now that I’ve been doing coaching for a few years I can tell you that when you’re trying to teach someone and help them succeed, there’s nothing better than an enthusiastic student y’know? Just makes the job so much better."

He turned to Eugene, barely pausing, “And Eugene wasn’t it… I’m gonna go ahead and say you were one of the quieter kids, I’m struggling to remember you if I’m honest. Err, you were into singing right?” He spoke quickly again before she could answer, “Oh hey you know what, we should probably save all this talk for later, otherwise you’ll be repeatin’ yourself to everyone else, y’know. Also, I dunno about you guys but I am real hungry, haha!”

He strolled over to the closed door at the far corner of the room. He had dressed particularly impressively for the occasion, wearing a light grey tailor-made suit with a deep red shirt and smart, recently shined black shoes. His designer shades had been tucked into the top of his shirt, so they hung down sideways over his chest.

Reaching the door he pulled the handle and swung it open revealing a large full bathroom. After a few moments he looked left along the corridor, counting the doors that he saw, before turning back and walking towards the others. His steps were slower this time; he was seemingly deep in thought. He paused close to them, clenched his right fist, stuck out his thumb and pointed it back over his shoulder at the bathroom. “If I’m right, that’s the only bathroom on this floor. I’ve counted 5 bedrooms. Do you know how in-demand that bathroom is gonna be?” He nodded at them, a knowing grin on his face, “Ya, and I don’t want to be stuck waiting in the mornings, though I do get up earlier than most! If I were you, I’d follow my advice and grab a room closest to it, hah!” He looked at Theodore, “Well Theo, I think it’s only right we say ‘ladies first.’” Playfully grinning at her he swept his right arm out indicating the rooms down the hall, “After you, Eugene”.
Argo grinned when Lance voiced his support for the plan to see the Old Reaper. "OK, great, I think it would also be good if we asked the others who are still here..." He turned to Monica but she was silently exiting the room, seemingly oblivious to her surroundings.

Argo turned back and spoke instead to Chief Tobe. "Mr Tobe sir, thank you for your helpful words, I am thinking it is likely that we will see each other again, but for now, goodnight." He then motioned for Lance to follow, "Let us see if perhaps some other peoples will be interested in our plan, there will surely be some who do not want to fight these vampires just yet, I don't know, maybe we can persuade Zach also, you know."

He entered the room next door; it reminded Argo of the rooms people sparred in in the martial arts movies he had watched as a kid. Evangeline, Jimmy and Oda were the three people remaining in the room and the latter appeared to be tending to a wound on his arm. I guess this room is for fighting... Looking to each in turn he spoke of his idea, "Hey guys, I don't know about you but I was thinking it might be best idea to go and see this Old Reaper, Cheten, and see what she can tell us, you know, it might be she can give very useful advice. What would you guys say to that?" He looked at them as he spoke. "Oh and I very much think it will be better if we can get along with each other," he added, extending his hand to the nearest person as he spoke. "Nice to meet you."

Hi, should I just post since no one else has yet?

Did people not respond to the PMs that were sent?

I would have posted, but comcast screwed up and I won't have internet until Wednesday, if then. I'll try to post from my phone tonight but no promises.

Well if you do get a chance to post you now have 2 possible people to respond to and/or shake hands with. :D
Argo rubbed his eyes, staring blankly at the space that, mere seconds ago, had been occupied by the slim figure of Koyuki and her oddly shaped Mori. He glanced around to see if anyone else had noticed; it seemed as if Chief Tobe had, but his face was devoid of any surprise. Perhaps this is a common occurrence for people who have died thought Argo. Though he didn’t think he’d ever teleported in such a way. ”Boring…” The word echoed is his mind, mimicking the voice of Koyuki.

Chief Tobe had answered their questions in turn and Argo now knew his purpose. But he was still confused – he was not a killer, he had very little knowledge of vampires and the like, this all seemed like a mistake. Why me? What he had managed to detect was that emotions were running high in the people around him. Anger was primarily there when Oda and Prudence had addressed Koyuki, fear was present in some of the group, and there seemed to be a mixture of panic, fear and surprise coming from next door.

Argo had watched them leave one-by-one, committing names, faces, mannerisms and voices to memory. One thing that hadn’t left him in death was the tendency to observe people, noticing the smallest details about others.

He considered Zach’s proposal about going to find the vampires. It seemed a bit hasty though, it seemed a better idea to find this experienced reaper first and get some guidance. Argo reasoned he would consult the two members of the group that still remained in the room, Lance and Monica. Lance had seemed pretty reasonable and level-headed during the introductions and looked well-meaning enough, even if his Mori, Cor Ira, was on the gruesome side. Monica had said nothing since the introduction, and looked in her own world. Whether she would respond to Lance or not, Argo didn’t know, neither did he think there was time to wait.

“Hey, Lance, Monica, hi, nice to meet both of you.” He held out his hand as was custom back home. “First I must apologise for interrupting… sorry sorry, but I was listening to Zach just now and it seems as if maybe he wants to go and hunt these… these vampires but I am thinking that it would be better to find this, err, old reaper first so that she can give us some advice you know… about our powers perhaps. I don’t know, maybe you guys have some better idea?” He looked questioningly from one to the other.
I miss one day and suddenly everyone has posted. oO Guess that's the timezone difference kicking in. Anyways, intro post is up.

Regarding your GM prompts, I, being unfamiliar to the setting, find them helpful.
Argo waited patiently, listening to the other speakers in turn before it came to him. Just as he was about to speak, the girl from near the beginning spoke up again and seemed to witter on about what the others had said. Argo glanced around; she must’ve just not noticed he was there. Then, the man dressed in white stated talking once more. Argo frowned in frustration, could they not see him?! He stood up and moved towards the centre of the semicircle to make his presence known, clearing his throat loudly.

“Hey, er, Mr Ikiriyo Tobe, sir” he wasn’t exactly sure he’d pronounced it correctly but he went on, “Yes, I have a question, I am thinking that it is perhaps maybe best that I introduce myself also, you know, and then maybe Koyuki, I think that is right, she can invite me, to the party, and you peoples will know my name so it is easier to speak with me, yes?” He spoke with a noticeable accent. In addition, he spoke quickly, his sentences seeming to roll into one another; he would pause at odd intervals, creating one long string of oddly rhythmic speech.

Turning to the room, “Yes as I was saying my name is Argo, Argo Mihhailov, if maybe you have trouble to say my name I can explain it slowly: mee-hi-lov, yes that is it, simple. Err, ah, yes, how it is that I came to be here, well I myself also died, I was not stabbed like some of you...” he glanced at the respective people, “...nor did I kill myself.” He glanced at the relevant people once again. “No as it happens I died in hospital, I was very sick you know, if I knew the name of what it was that had killed me I would for sure tell you but as it happens I do not know, it is great mystery to me.” He paused again, waiting for his thoughts to catch up.

“Ok, yes, that’s right, next thing, I see you peoples have a, thing, next to you, I too also have something the same, yes, a Mori? That is what you called it, well, here is mine, his name is Shifty, that is what he tells me, he, as you can see, well it is hard to see what he is actually.” With an exasperated grin he gestured to his Mori, which currently resembled a shadowy figure, the most prominent feature being a pair of blue eyes that stared out at the group. “He is not always like this, sometimes he has a different shape you know.”

He turned to address the man dressed in white at the front of the room. “It is a pleasure to meet you sir, Mr Tobe, I must say, I am thinking it is the same for the others here, I don’t know for sure, but it would make sense if they feel, like I do, this strange feeling, sir, it is hard to explain but it is like something telling me that I have a mission, something I must do to make this feeling go away. It is this feeling that has brought me here to you, I think, and I think it must be you, who is going to be the one to tell me what I must do, what, I think, what we all must do.” He stressed the word as he gestured to the rest of the people with his arm.

After a short pause he nodded to the group “Okay, that is it from me for now, nice to meet you peoples, I was thinking perhaps for a moment I was invisible! Haha! But, yes, I am thinking maybe we can have good times at this party, yes.” He moved back towards his seat but remained standing.
Accidental Athlete has just checked in. Assuming he's let in by Ms Deville he'll make polite small talk before heading outside to the food table. If not, he'll make his way to the food regardless. :P
“Well Eric it sure is hot out there today, with some areas reaching temperatures over 95 degrees. So all you boys and girls make sure you drink plenty of water and stay-” the voice of the weather reporter was cut short as the man twisted the key in the ignition, cutting the power to the radio and the rest of the car. Stepping out of the expensive silver convertible he stared up at the house, hands on hips, before reaching up with his right hand and lifting his shades to get an untainted view.

“Rising Sun” Scott murmured quietly. “It’s gotta be what, 15 years minimum, since I been here.” Flashbacks entered his mind of him as a teenager arriving at the house on numerous occasions. Usually he’d just come back from practice, eager to share his successes with the other children, who were often hanging around outside. Not so today.

Scott looked around him at the rest of the drive, his car was the only one parked there. Seems I’m the first to arrive he thought to himself. He checked the chunky metal watch that adorned his substantial wrist, “Eleven forty-five, I guess I am a bit early. No point hanging around though.” Scott was a big believer in never being late for something if he could help it; it just showed a lack of respect. He firmly shut the driver’s door and stepped towards the back of his car, reaching for the large black luggage case resting on the rear seats. He hauled it out with ease before clicking the button on his key and hearing the click of the car locks. After a short pause he clicked another button and the boot of the car lifted open. In a short space of time, the roof closing mechanism would have completed its routine, sealing the interior of the car from the outside world. Just in case it did decide to rain. Scott turned and, carrying his case, marched up the drive, the gravel crunching satisfyingly underfoot as he went.

He held his hand up in anticipation as he scanned the surroundings of the door for a doorbell but none appeared. Clenching his fist he rapped his knuckles firmly on the wooden surface of the door. It was only after a few seconds that he noticed the large brass knocker. “Oh well…” At that moment his stomach let out a low growl. Boy, I cannot wait for this buffet to start.

This looks fun. may I still join?

I can't find any mention of a limit on players (we have 9 excluding the GM by my count), so I want to tentatively say you can still join. You could always post up a CS and see what Art of Fun says tomorrow.

...just as a technical thing, it'd be nice if his Mori did have some form of appearance, even if it's something as vague as his shadow having a set of eyes.

Do you mean that my character's Mori is represented by my Egregoroi's shadow having a set of eyes? I could probably do that. Alternatively, the Mori could have a limitless number of forms and changes appearance on a regular basis. Would that work? It fits with his name.

Out of interest, who/what is able to see someone's Mori?

Oh, and I've been left off the list of players... is there... something you're not telling me? *Feels sad and lonely*
