It was finally here. After weeks of hyping it up to his measly subscriber base, the promised Omniphone had arrived and his review recording was well underway. While his microphone and camera setup wasn't the best, his overtly optimistic expectations assured him that this video will be a smash hit and pay dividends. Who knows, maybe he'll even get sponsored by those mobile gacha games that other influencers plaster all over their ad breaks. One thing's for sure though: this was going to change everything.

However, just as Luso was about to end the review, a call from an unknown number had flashed on his phone screen. Not wanting to edit out more raw footage than he needed to, he was quick to pick up the call only to be met with nothing on the other end... Followed by a litany of irregular heartbeats and internal ringing. Reasoning this to merely be a panic attack, the shaken teen tried to continue working away to distract himself. As his draws of breath became shorter, he figured it was exhaustion on top of the exciting day he just had.

"Yeah, that's it." he reassured himself.

Quickly saving his work, Luso stepped away from his computer desk and crashed into his nearby bed face first. He was gonna sleep it off and hope that everything would be back to normal when he wakes up.

Washington DC Airspace

The slow and leisurely flight of the Captain would soon come to an abrupt end, with radio chatter being picked up from the League's headquarters being relayed to him via military satellites unto his private communicator. However, immediately after hearing Wonder Woman's call to arms, a second transmission had interjected itself in to the receiver. "Callsign Horizon, gonna need you to hang back from that mission. The engineers need to do thorough scans of your equipment before further sortie." Who else could it have been except for Doctor Megala, though the usage of code talking felt like overkill. After all, who could have possibly hacked a secured military line?

"Callsign Continuum, my equipment's fine. Proceeding ahead with sortie." replied Captain Atom. After all, he was a soldier first and foremost, not some sort of lab rat that only ran pressure gauge tests. "Now listen here, Horizon! You were just under abyssal conditions and we cannot guarant-" Static soon scrambled the feed as the Captain altered the electromagnetic field around him to block out radio waves. It sure beats having to audibly create your own static noise or having to find a tunnel to go through, he had thought. With the distractions dealt with, he soon used that burst of speed they had just discovered he was capable of in order to reach the League Headquarters in no time flat.

Landing on the League's hangar bay, Captain Atom noticed that some of his fellow League members had already assembled for the mission. While he wasn't on a first name basis with anyone on the team, the Captain did want to make a good professional impression. "Salutations, fellow Leaguers!" he would state in a authoritative tone towards the group, followed by a formal military salute then at-ease pose with his hands behind his back. His face wouldn't show it but he was quite eager to get back out there on the field.

Port Algec
Mess Hall

Roose's eyes widened and his salutatory stoic smile shrunk to a smirk as his superior officer called his thinly-veiled excuse of a bluff. Though he was just about to try and weasel his way out of his situation, his fellow soldier had started to speak. Clearly the situation she had found herself in was of greater severity than what Roose had done and so he stayed to listen, crossing his arms while nodding along as she recounted the events of what had just happened. Halfway through the story, Roose realized who she was and who she spoke of, though the only words he could let out was to comment under his breath with "I don't know about unavoidable", in reference to narrowly avoiding the stretcher on the way here. After Skye's story though, their commander began to chew her out about taking your vitamins or whatever as Roose tuned out completely from the sermon and focused on his comrade eating the inedible rations they served at the mess hall.

"You know, the Centurion's right. You shouldn't jeopardize the health of soldiers here, specially your own. So, I'm gonna grab that boar which got inside the base and commandeered one of our jeeps before I shot it dead and have the cooks serve it to you. Just between us three, I think the canned rations are actually older than the base itself." With a quick salute to both fellow squaddies, Roose stepped away before Tyr could hopefully followup with further questions. As he got out though, the results of his actions had stranded him back at square one except now there were added consequences if he didn't tidy it up. Ironically, having to fireman carry the boar towards the mess hall kitchen by himself was the furthest thing from tidy as pig's blood dripped on his favourite jacket on the way there. He would purposefully pass by Tyr and Skye to show that he was actually doing what he had said he would do.

As he arrived to the kitchen, Roose would dump the boar on the nearest table regardless of what had been on there before. "Alright, here it is lads. Like we spoke of yesterday, finest game in Iberia: jamón ibérico. Or rather it will be when you get around three servings for me now since I'm in a bit of a bind right now." The Carius' plea hopefully wouldn't fall on deaf ears.

Visited this thread after a while.

I was under impression that this is being a casual RP. Could someone please provide a little summary on how the RP should be played? How a character should interact with others?

Thanks in advance :D

Well, this specific RP format is usually divided into Episodes where you have a set amount of posts allocated for each episode and there is a central focus for each episode as well (Solomon Grundy seems to be this current episode's focus). Your character is free to have their own side stories and personal arcs play out throughout the RP while integrating into the wider main story.

As for interacting with others, I personally contact the owner of the character I plan to have interactions with via Discord to set expectations though I guess nothing would stop you from talking to another character and effectively do improv.

P.S. The expectations of "Casual" RPs is a hotly debated topic. My personal interpretation is that it's not as loose as Free but not as demanding as Advanced but you'll still find examples that defy those definitions. So really, just follow the rules on the first IC post and have fun?

Port Algec
Base Entrance -> Mess Hall

"We, as loyal soldiers of the Empire, are on the verge of making history here. To take on the final frontier is no easy feat. It takes will, talent, preparation, guns, men to fire those guns, and a lot of food to feed those men."
At least that's what Roose had justified to the MP officer guarding the gates upon returning back to Port Algec in a muddy military jeep that was in pristine condition when he took it out. While the usage and state of the vehicle did not leave much to be desired, the broken standard-issue rifle prominently displayed on the passenger seat and the dead wild boar (with its rotting tongue sticking out and attracting flies) strapped in the back seats did not do him any favors. Luckily for our unscrupulous hunter, the guard merely shook his head before handing Roose paperwork which marked his wild game meat as procured rations that need to be reported to the officer in charge of food storage. With a smile and a nod, he gleefully drove off.

The ease of this interaction was mostly due to the fact that a ton of resources were already pouring in from all over the Empire into Port Algec and the administrative process had already been streamlined since, presumably, the last thing the Empire needed would be for a logistical challenge to ground to a halt its grand ambitions to reclaim space. Every day a parade of crates labelled such as food, ammunition, electronics, and even laundry soap would be shipped in via trucks and naval convoys. While the supply corps who handled and unloaded the crates already knew of each delivery's destination, the newly returning Carius had no clue where not-so-fresh pork would go. However, if the obvious answer was the correct one, food would go to the mess hall. Thanks Occam's Razor.

Hence why he stopped directly in front of the common grunt's favourite building, narrowly missing a schmuck being stretchered out along the way. Unfortunately for Roose, no one was there to help him carry his deadweight from the back of his borrowed jeep. With the foul stench getting worse under the hot Iberian sun, he was quick to rush in and try to find any soul kind or gullible enough to help. As he entered the hall, there wasn't really anyone there that stood out as either of those. Bored and exhausted sure but neither of those qualities in a person indicated that they could be schmoozed to carrying a pig into the proverbial pantry. He would continue to aimlessly wander around before spotting the perfect mark. This kid had pushover written all over him, Roose thought. Sure, he needed a bit more muscle to haul that hog out of the jeep but beggars can't be choosers. As he got closer to tap him on the shoulder, the following words had been uttered which threw off the troublesome Tadmoore's scheme.

"I'm Centurion Tyr Fin. Callsign Kraken. Your new superior. You can start by explaining yourself and who that... Soldier was."

Aw fuck he thought. With his mind racing, Roose had to figure something out and quick. So, he blurted out the first thought that came to mind.

"Sir, Carius Roose Tadmoore reporting in! I did not drive to this location and there is no wild boar at the back of the vehicle that I did not use!"
Just found out I'm having another baby!!!! I'll get caught up on reading today and make another post, last couple days have just been nuts lol

Congrats dude, that's wonderful news!

@Phoenix347

I'll also echo the above sentiment. As a big mecha and Gundam fan who recently completed a playthrough of MS Saga, I'll start working on a character. In the mean time, I'd like a roll of the old MS dice and hopefully get one of my favorites.

P.S. The discord link posted at the top is invalid, maybe it expired.

Well hey, since our GM has brought it up, I've made a Discord for the roleplay. Here's a link to it for everyone to join:

There's at least 4 of us on Discord right now so definitely join in, peeps.

Also, first non-GM IC post claimed!
