@rush99999 Your family has an interesting back story. Looking forward to seeing more of it. @gowia I love the details, it's actually very pleasant to read despite the boring economic part that I am ironically studying :D @LordZell The dates are a bit off, specifically Adolf II's life time. He died before the civil war that you described in his back story started. Perhaps just switch his place with Leon's? @Twisted Sun Middle is in a valley that is horizontally stretching between hilly areas in the absolute north and absolute south of the county. Hope that's helpful. I could tell you roughly on where to look at on the google maps. I would say the city of Amstetten is roughly where fictional castle of Greinburg is.
Are you still accepting players?
Yes! PS) I will take a quick shower and will give feedback and answer your question, Twisted.
If Pig were a Von Meron, he wouldn't last a day. The Von Merons are nothing like pig, while they are as greedy as Pig, all Von Merons (Excluding Franz Von Meron) have fully functional brains, are relentless fighters the likes of which haunt the dreams of Norwegian berserkers, are master strategists, and most of all, they don't eat themselves into obesity.
It was more of a similarity I noticed between how brutal they are rather than their mental capacity, but Larz falls in that category as well, I suppose? :D
Have you ever played Stronghold series? Your family reminds me a lot of Pig haha
I haven't played Stronghold series. Who's Pig? He sounds like an interesting character.
He's pretty much the kind of guy that would run your family. The game doesn't give out much information on him, but from animations I can see the guy could be a proud member of the house of von Meron. Here's a little something of Pig: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8747v4va5k EDIT: I didn't know they made backgrounds for the characters, huh.
Hang on...who has what titles so far??? I just wanna know so I can think my families opinion of the other houses. EDIT: And I have played the Stronghold series and I can see what you mean!
Currently available titles are Duke-Count-Burgrave-Lord-Knight-Edler. Duke is off limits and Count is the title given to the head of the family. You can see if your family has the title of count by reading my family history*. As for other members of the family, they can be any of the other four titles as I've given the example of who can rule what in few posts above, so if you own a castle the family member that controls it can be Burgrave or a Lord, etc. You can also make some of your family members clerics. *hint: the families listed with count title are in the last few paragraphs. There's a total of four families with the title.
Ahhh found them all now, just had to check through who certain the Burgraves were.
Basically powerful nobles that ruled from castles. They could own villages and mines as well, but only as secondary estates, besides the castle. Here's some more information on 'graves' or 'grafs' (counts) as they were called in German. There are several types: 1) Graf- basically a German title for a Count. 2) Landgraf- A bit higher than count but lower than duke. Usually awarded sizable land to govern over, most likely two or three counties. 3) Margraf- A bit higher than count, lower than Landgraf. They held bordering provinces and counties - marches, as they were called in the Holy Roman Empire and even Frankish Empire. 4) Burgrafs- Lower than Grafs, higher than barons. They were governors of castles and surrounding lands, but also deputies of Grafs (counts). I do plan to add number 2) and 3) and barons later on.

Nah it's fine. Just thought it was funny.
Maybe I didn't think that one through because Jews are bound to be hunted down historically in Austria at the time of the Roleplay.
Well I believe you said my family was given the rank of count. But what of the current head of House ranks like the Chancellor, Marshall etc.
Those are awarded titles. I will give those away at the start of the Roleplay. You have noble titles like so: Duke (has power over a duchy and receives taxes from counties. Can personally own towns, castles, villages and mines) | Count (has power over a county and receives taxes from towns, castles, villages and mines in the county. Can personally own towns, castles, villages and mines) | Burgrave (similar to viscount. Governor of a castle) | Lord (or Herr. Can own towns and villages) | Knight (can own villages) | Edler (lower nobility. Usually owns only private estates like farms, breweries, markets and sometimes even mines. Most likely a rich merchant that became a noble through wealth) As we expand I will add more titles like Margraves, Landgraves, Barons etc. Once we become a kingdom I will give the titles of counts to other houses as well.
And, yes; but it seems imgur is sulking for some reason o.ò
It says the picture is too large, maybe that's the problem.
Well, you can start writing your family history and maybe make a coat of arms to go with it. In two or three days I will put up the thread and you can post it there.
Wait, I don't want to complain, but... how do we write our family history without knowing our ranks :I ? Anyway, I have already my coat of arms ;D *points to profile avatar*
Oh. That's a good point. Here's the thing, I will give land to you guys and you can figure out the titles yourselves. Just don't go overboard. But, the territory you will be given doesn't mean it was always yours, so you're gonna have to work that out as well. Btw, your profile picture is the same as it was?
