He's Crazy!

"Ummm, anything I can do to repay you for your...kindness?" he asked. She was surprised, from his sudden offer, not expecting anything back for getting his coffee for him, so she was speechless, unsure of what to say. Again he blurted out, continuing his statement from before, "You know! Uh, you should meet my mom, she likes company..."

"His mom?" She thought surprised and slightly confused. She hesitated, for a while glancing at her phone again, pondering whether she should or not.

"Hmmm...I guess I don't really have to be anywhere..." she mumbled to herself. In the end she just gave a shrug, "Sure. Why not," she finally answered giving him a small smile. "Here, let me help you with this," she said as she freed one of his hands by grabbing one of the coffees, "I'm guessing this is for your mom?" She said motioning to the coffee in her hand.

He's Crazy!

As soon as Emi showed the time from her phone to him, a panic looked flashed upon his face. Right when she was gonna ask why he was in a hurry, he suddenly blurted out, "I gotta go, we'll talk later,right!" and ran into the door. Emi wasn't sure on how to react, but she was surprised, not expecting him to be the type of person to run into a door. He quickly got off the floor and dashed out of the coffee shop. She wasn't sure what just happened, but she realized that she still hadn't learn what his name was.

However, in the midst of her thoughts, someone hastily came into the shop. Snapping out of her thoughts she realized that he had came back. He looked like he was searching for something and she noticed his drinks sitting on the counter. She then briskly walked up to the counter grabbing his coffee and placing them in his hands.

"Here," she smiled, amused by his actions, "I think you need these, right?" she said, stifling a laugh.

Lazulis

Kai sat with his legs resting on the chair in front of him, adjusting his gas mask every second or so. He wasn't sure he believed what the commander said about the pure air in this new place called Lazulis. Looking around, some of the other recruits were already comfortable, talking normally without any mask nor protection, but Kai wasn't gonna have that. He rather be safe than sorry. The humming of machinery droned on and he wondered how much longer until the commander decides on a safe place to land.

Wanting a change of scenery, rather than watching the others play card, Kai stepped outside the ship and leaned against the railing. Looking down, the place was beautiful. Their trees actually had shades of different colors, their sky was soft light blue, and even their water looked clear as glass. Kai let out a heavy sighed, "Apparently this is what Earth had looked previously before all the war," he thought to himself. The breeze from the wind felt nice, and the air seemed untainted. No smoke, no powder, no dust, and no radiation. Kai was almost tempted to rip off his mask and see what actual fresh air tasted like.

Glancing back at the front of the ship, he noticed the commander stiffly and tensely "navigating" the airship. Then the commander suddenly left the wheel and stomped towards them.

"Here we go again..." Kai mumbled to himself, rolling his eyes.

"Get off your lazy asses!" The commander yelled, his mouth scrunched up into a frown, "You're making me do all the work here. You call
yourselves the elites? The best? That's a bunch of bull shit!" He screamed on the top of his lungs, letting out all his frustrations. They all knew that they should stay quiet and let him run through his course, screaming at them and having spit fly everywhere. However, today, and just today, Kai felt like he just didn't want to hear any of it.

"Actually...all you’re doing is acting like a fake captain when we all know that you have it on auto pilot the entire time. We know the ship can fly itself" Kai said while shrugging, "You're just frustrated and terrified about this whole mission and decided to take it out on all of us," Kai continued nonchalantly. The commanders' face flushed red and he looked like he was gonna slap him. Squeezing his eye shut, Kai prepared for the impact, not caring anymore about the consequences of his words.

Personality: He tend to not trust others, not wanting to risk his life for another. He’s very fond of his eyesight, depending on it constantly to seek out enemies or allies, therefore he tries to play it safe, keeping out of trouble and laying low. He is also a quiet sort of person, preferring to keep his thoughts himself.

Abilities/Skills: He can turn into a phoenix and back into his human form. Phoenix’s have enhanced senses with fast regeneration and their tears can heal. They also can self-resurrect themselves.

Weaknesses: His memories of the past are fragmented and fragile, and his eyesight also deteriorates with each resurrection. However, unlike the other phoenix’s his eyesight is deteriorating at a faster rate than the others.

Brief history/background: Dante has already lived through two lifetimes, which is pretty little to the average phoenix. He had revived only twice through the ashes and he tends to confuse some memories from his past life. His vision is already becoming slightly blurry, causing him to wear glasses now. He has to be careful now, because the next time he resurrects, he may become completely blind.

"Yea, I guess it's short for Emily," she quickly answered him, before he stopped mid-sentence. She noticed that he started to look around for something, seeming slightly anxious.

He then turned towards her and said, "Say, you don't have a phone on you or something, do you?

The sudden question he sprung on her surprised her, but she fumbled a bit as she pulled out her phone, "uhm...yea I do." When she glanced at her phone, she noticed that it was already three o'clock. Her eyes widened, surprised that that much time had past already. After getting over the surprise, she faced the bright screen towards him that read 3:00 on the top.
