Hearing someone call over to address her, JD span on her heel to be greeted by the girl they call Lana asking her if she wanted a drink. ”Well it is a party, how could I not have a few?” She offered her the brightest of smiles as she made herself a *facepalm* JD & Coke. If there was one thing that Jess was proud of about her appearances (besides that badass booty her mama gave her), it was her smile. Ever since she was a child people commented on how a simple smile from Jessica Dallas would light up an entire room. Hopefully tonight, her superpower could be exploited to make the party a good one.
”So what’s new in Lana town?”
Wow that one was bad JD, even for you you motormouthed moose! Like all of the other tennants at the Heights, Jessie had done her research on Lana and her past was a peculiar one to say the least. A Russian native who seemingly dropped off the map when she was a child only to reappear in different places. It was mysterious and it had put Lana on JD’s radar as soon as she arrived in Justice. One of the first things she did was research everyone; she had to know if any of them had a motive for killing Peyton who had the skills to do it. Alas, she came up with nothing but still, high up on the list of suspects was the mysterious and ravishing Russian.
Of course Lyndsey would try to get him to talk to someone about his days in the army. It still bothered her how quiet Cam had been about the whole thing. Despite being the same carefree guy he always was, she insisted he had changed that he didn’t talk to her about what was going on in his head. Bless her. He loved her but Lynd’s you didn’t need to know what’s going on inside of his chaotic head and here she was trying to get him to open up to someone else if not her. ”Yeah, maybe we’ll sit and have a talk sometime about it. I bet you’ve got some good stories”
Cam took a sip from his water bottle and placed it back onto the table. He scanned the crowd with pale blue eyes and did his best to try and act normal. The close proximity to people and the loud beats of the music were starting to get to him. He warm sweat began to develop beneath his clothes and he wasn’t sure if it was down to the humidity or if an episode was about to start. He clenched one fist and ran the other through his hair. ”Babe, I’m just going to nip inside for a minute ok? Just need to…yeah” He popped a light kiss to his wife’s lips and smiled at the little group that had gathered around them. ”Excuse me folks”
Crossing through the crowd and back into the Rose building, Cameron’s eyes widened as a face of man stared back at him, a man that shouldn’t be there.
A fist was thrown which Cameron narrowly dodged, followed by a kick which knocked the chef back into a wall. Taking off up the stairs, the man was grinning like the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. Cam cracked his neck and gave chase.
Hello friends! Amalthea let me know about this lovely little RP, so hopefully you'll have me despite my jumping on the bandwagon a little late! ^^

Devoted * Brash * Humorous * Non-committal
Sexuality: Bisexual Relationship Status: Divorced Personality: Perhaps Jeremy's most prominent trait is his dry humour and wit, which he makes use of even in the worst times. This can make him appear rather unprofessional, or unserious, but in reality he primarily uses it as a sort of coping mechanism to keep himself calm in anxious or dangerous situations. These sorts of situations are ones that Jeremy finds himself in regularly, an adrenaline junkie, Jeremy is a 'treasure hunter' by choice, and is drawn more than anything by the incredible risk which goes into it. He loves a good fight, and is quick to rush into one without really thinking through all of his options.
Although he is quick to get into a fight and even gunplay, Jeremy most certainly does not view himself as a killer, and only does so if he has to, or out of self-defence. When it comes to his relationships with friends, Jeremy is extremely loyal, to the point where he would risk his life for the safety of his friends, and he's kind enough to his acquaintances even, generally happy to help anyone he is able to, even if it comes as some cost to himself. In more intimate relationships, he is relatively non-committal, and although he doesn't stop himself from getting close to people, he usually distances himself. Such was the case with his marriage, which ended after a few months when he'd gone off in the night to Tibet and not returned.
When Jeremy puts his mind to something, or has a particular goal, he'll usually stop at nothing to achieve it. He is an incredibly driven individual, and can be an immense pain in the ass for someone who is trying to stop him or get in his way. What Brings You To The City: Having just gotten out of prison in Mexico City, and arriving back in the States, Jeremy heard the news of Peyton Glencross and the missing Professor Gerard. Seeing it as an offer too dripping with opportunities to pass up, and forseeing some big hunt to follow if he got involved, Jeremy quickly got a place in Justice and made his way there, looking forward to the possibilities of things to come.
Life Before You Moved In: Abandoned as a baby by an unwanting pair of teenage parents, Jeremy grew up in a Catholic Orphanage, where he first gained his interest and love of history and myth. Although not exactly becoming religious, Jeremy became quickly fascinated with the history books in the orphanages library, and the lessons he was taught throughout his young childhood. Jeremy began to hold the books quite dear, and this got him some unwanted attention from bullies who would mock his 'nerdy' habits. Not one to back down, even though his tormentors were usually bigger than him, Jeremy began to start getting into fights with the other kids, causing some great havoc for the priests and nuns who ran the orphanage. Many grew tired of the young boys antics as he fought more and more, and seemed to explore his more adventurous habits by sneaking out of his dorm and into the library late at night for more study. His teacher however, Father McKinnon, grew quite affectionate for young Jeremy however, and encouraged his learning more and more, even going to his own expense to buy more books for the boy.
Jeremy's bad habits only got worse as he grew older, in his teenage years his adventurous nature took over more and more, and he stopped just sneaking into the Library, and began sneaking out of the Orphanage, a feat which usually required scaling the walls and buildings to do. This got him into even more trouble, and that troublesome nature became much of the reason that the boy was never adopted, having no real parental figures in his life aside from Father McKinnon, who continued to take a shine to the boy's adventurous and historical spirit. At the urging of Father McKinnon, Jeremy left the Orphanage at the age of eighteen to go to university, managing to get into an Arts Degree at Harvard, where he majored in History and took up Archaeology as a minor. It was in these early years of university when Jeremy first encountered what would arguably shape his life - the Indiana Jones films. Becoming enthralled with the films, Jeremy saw parallels between the titular character and himself, and began to idolize the idea of being a treasure hunter.
Such a dream is what started to get Jeremy into even more trouble, driven by lust for history and adventure, and an awful lot of bad ideas, Jeremy snuck into the Peabody museum in his final year of university, and with the help of a few friends and contacts he'd made over the past few years, stole an Aztec artifact on display which he believed would lead him to the treasure of Montezuma. For the next many years, Jeremy searched for clues that might take him to Montezuma's treasure, picking up other similar jobs along the way. He made contacts and connections around the world and made many minor finds, sunken pirates ships, ancient ruins and temples, but nothing quite so glorious or grandiose as he wished. At the age of 26, Jeremy hoped to settle down for a while, and even got married, but his marriage did not last long as Jeremy soon ran off to Tibet, following a lead he believed would lead him to discover Shangri-La. While he did not find Shangri-La, he found more clues and gained more information which he believed would take him to his first great goal, Montezuma's treasure.
Finding himself in Mexico City, Jeremy fell deep into the hunt, his actions getting the attention of a few local criminals also interested in the fortune he was seeking, and with their attention came the attention of the authorities. Believing the final key of the puzzle which would lead him to Montezuma's treasure was in the Anahuacalli Museum, Jeremy broke in, but was quickly found and captured by the police, who had been tipped off to his plans by one of the many criminals who had been stalking him. Jeremy spent the next two years of his life in a Mexico City prison, and has since returned to the United States, believing his treasure to be lost.
Life Since You Moved In: Jeremy has been getting into contact with some of his old contacts, as well as trying to narrow down some people who may have known Peyton Glencross, hoping they might have some idea as to what she was involved in. He hasn't been in town long, however, so little progess has been made.
Extras
Character Quote: "I've got it all under control." Theme Song:Nate's Theme - Uncharted Dirty Little Secret: Jeremy has reached the point where he has begun to worry none of the treasures he seeks are actually real, but he continues to search, unable to accept that he may have devoted his life to falsehoods. Anything Else:
Mail call. The most painfully dull, slow, inefficient and generally unneeded aspect of the German Army, or any military organization for that matter. To some of the others in his squad, returning from a long field exercise to the mail which had been held from them was a welcome treat, but Joel just wanted to find an actual, comfortable bed and fall asleep.
"Obergefreiter Gott." The Administrative Corporal droned on as he went down the list in his hand, a small stack of letters in his hand.
"Ja." An equally droning voice sounded from beside Joel, the man in question. He received his mail and moved off away from the group, idly flicking through bills and junk mail for anything of actual interest. The second he was out of his peripherals, Joel didn't care, he just wanted to hear his name so he could go to his bunk and pass out.
"Hauptgefreiter Grau." The Corporal continued with the next name - the one Joel had been waiting for, he glanced momentarily to the man's hand, he held a selection of letters, but under-arm was a box, intricately carved with golden latches - he wasn't one for antiques, so he doubted it had been sent to him as any sort of gift, but he didn't know anyone who would send packages in such a manner.
"Ja." Joel finally responded, moving toward the Corporal to retrieve his mail. Originally he couldn't have cared less what his mail was, but as he carried it back toward his bunk and looked over the box - ignoring the confused glances and stares from the others in the barrack - he built quite the intrigue toward it. Tossing aside his other letters as insignificant in comparison, Joel sat down on his bunk, setting the box in his lap, he figured if it had made it this far into the base he resided in, it wasn't dangerous to any degree. Or, rather, Joel assumed it wasn't dangerous.
Gently, he set his finger and thumb on the gold pin, pulling it from the latch as he slowly and delicately lifted the lid, peering within. This was seeming less and less like something that would've been intended for him. Crimson velvet padded lining, and a trifolded piece of thick paper? This was an awfully over-complicated way for someone to be sending him a letter. But it was certainly not a letter, as Joel soon realised. Opening it, he had to do a double take as he looked over the two tickets he held, from Munich to Paris, and a boarding pass for the Orient Express.
Congratulations! You are one of the lucky few that was picked to be the winner of this prestigious tour! You leave on March 14th from your city and will arrive in Paris on the 15th. There you will meet the rest of the winners at the Saint James Paris! You're accommodations are completely provided! Travel, fares, food, all are covered. On the 17th you will disembark from Paris on the legendary Orient Express for a tour of Europe and into the Carpathian Mountains! We cannot wait to see you, anything you need will be provided. A Black Status Card has provided for you to purchase anything you might need. I look forward to meeting you on the Orient Express.
Sincerely, Your Provider
As he sat and read the letter, Joel gathered somewhat of an audience, a few of his friends and comrades moving over to his bunk to peer over his shoulder at what was before him, a few unimpressed or unknowing 'huh' sounds coming from the majority as they moved on to other things. Joel, on the other hand, was simply confused. Why had he been picked? He'd been told a while ago that he should take some leave, the man hadn't since his third deployment, so he certainly would have been able to get the time off for this little 'vacation' - but Joel still groaned.
"How do I even explain this to the Oberleutnant?"
*By submitting this CS in its completion I am stating I have read all the rules for this Rp and am agreeing to follow them to the fullest with respect and courtesy.
After a few aggressive screams at her window and the throwing off her stuffed bulldog Caliban at a wall, JD emerged from the apartments and into the party in the courtyard. Things seemed to be in full swing now, people were having fun, dancing, drinking and being merry. She wondered if this was what Peyton felt like the night she died. If Jess knew anything about Peyton Glencross it was that she would never commit suicide, it was not in her character. There had to be more to it and someone here had to know more than they were telling. She scanned the crowd trying to size up everyone, it was a trait she had inherited from her big brother. Dominic didn’t talk a lot but he could read people like no one she had ever seen. Guess that came with the territory of being a listener not a speaker.
Jessie had managed to have some form of interaction with most of the tenants at the Heights, with only a few slipping under her radar. First and foremost was the newest member of their “family”, Jeremy Bennet. He had only been there about two weeks and JD had already scanned the interwebs to find out more about him….you know cos reasons and that reason is she’s a nosy bitch. He sure had a colourful history, a treasure hunter, thrill seeker and all around bad mother dude….Dominic would love this guy.
Detective Gregory was here and in JD’s eyes, he was as much use as a chocolate fireguard. The man had been on the force for years and yet he had somehow got everyone believing Peyton’s death was a suicide. Either he’s really bad at his job or something isn’t right. She wouldn’t have done it, how could he say she did? Obviously he was here to curb the reporters from questioning all the guests but that probably wouldn’t stop them, she knew from experience after all. Obvious by their absence in the crowded parking lot was Channel 4. Regina must’ve gotten the word out pretty ASAP that she was killing Peyton’s story. The woman was nice but she had little patience when it came to the news.
Tonight was about having some fun but tomorrow, JD had some work to put in. She had discovered something that even the cops had missed; Professor Gerard’s daughter lived in the city and tomorrow she would go and talk to her and find out just what the good doctor was working on with Peyton. Moving into the crowd, the nosiest bitch in the building grabbed a drink from one of the tables and smiled the bright smile like only she could. Tonight would be a good night…
I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I got my mock A2 results back, and they are immensly below the grades I was hoping for, so these next few weeks for me are going to pretty much be nothing but study. Unfrotunatley that means I'm going to have to drop out of all guild-related activity, including this game. I'm deeply sorry for the inconveniance. Please know that I wouldn't have joined if I'd know this would be the outcome, but I have to face the reality of the situation as it is.
Thanks for much for making me feel welcome, and I wish you all the best.
Sorry to hear that. As Lady said, we're more than happy to hold your spot if you ever want to jump back in
I just wanted to say I think this RP is very cool idea and I'll be reading it as it goes on. I'm not planning on joining because I don't know if I'd be able to keep up with the expected pace, but I wanted you guys to know that you have a fan.
Well thanks muchly! Hopefully we can keep things exciting for you, feel free to jump into the OOC any time to chat about the story! We love the fact we have a fan
Holding onto his wife’s hand, Cameron emerged from their building just in time to see Danica Graves heading off for her routine run, something that Cam knew all too well. Sticking with his routine was one of the few things that kept the solider sane. He led Lyndsey out into the courtyard and released her hand to grab a bottle of water from one of the tables he had set up earlier. Alcohol wasn’t Cameron’s best friend so he tended to stay away from it. He hadn’t touched a drop since he was a rambunctious teen back in New Mexico. A cool Bud was always called for in the heat of the desert. Taking a mouthful from the bottle, he moved over to his fellow marine and smiled.
”Food smells good, cowboy if I do say so myself”
Since leaving the army and moving to a place most people have come to nickname Murderland, California, Cameron had followed in his father’s footsteps and taken on a job as a chef at a sweet restaurant in the Diamond Quarters. It was a cosy little job in a nice district of the city, good pay, good food, and good tips. None of his new friends had managed to eat there yet, mostly because of the shocking fucking prices but that didn’t stop Cam from cooking for them now and again, he wanted everyone to be comfortable with him, especially since he and Lyndsey moved into the dead girl’s apartment after only two weeks.
”This is going to be a good for everyone or at least I hope so. Too many people seemed trapped in a Greek maze, maybe a little debauchery will help folk out”
Location: Apartment 3A
Interacting With: Regina Eilheart (NPC)
As she prepared to leave her apartment, JD was stopped by an alert from her laptop. ”What now?” She thought to herself. She had so little time off since moving to the city and the one night she gets a chance to do so, just as she’s walking out of the door, her computer rings. If this isn’t Dominic telling her he’s found Shang Ri La or whatever the fuck her big brother is looking for she would be super pissed. Gliding back into the cool room of 3A, Jess sat down at the computer and rolled her eyes at the caller ID. ”Shit” Sighing, she quickly checked herself in her pocket mirror before answering the call. ”Hi Miss Eilheart”
”Honey, how many times do I have to tell you call me Regina? Miss Eilheart makes me feel old. I’m going to tell you a quick story, Jessie and you aren’t allowed to breathe another word of it to anyone. Understand? You see, I came to California when I was sixteen, ran away from home wanting to be a movie star. I got a few good parts in the 80’s then my passion fizzled and you know why? News. Gossip. Rumours. It caused stress and stress leads to premature aging. You know what I did with my money from the movies? I invested it, I started channel 4 and then I bought majority stock in all of Justice Newspapers. I control the news in this town and by doing so, I avoid stress and I avoid aging, it’s why I look twenty five even though I’m forty eight. You’ve been here two months, Jessie and you’re causing me stress. Why are you causing me stress? Where are we on the Glencross story?”
JD twirled her fingers in her hand as she watched her boss fiddle with an owl of Minerva pendant around her neck. Regina was a decent enough boss, nice enough to work with but she was very celver with how she did business, she was wise and thoughtful but she was obviously morally corrupt. Nothing gets in the way of a good story for Regina Eilheart except a deadline. ”I’m still working on it. I’m close to a breakthrough I think! Just trying to get a hold of some…”
”Stop there, Jessie. Sweetie, I love you but I’m pulling the plug. Nobody cares about her anymore, drop it. Do an in-memoriam blog for the website and submit it by close of play Monday. That’ll be the end of the Peyton Glencross story, Am I clear? Now I can see your dressed all fine and if I was twenty years younger I’d have a go myself but I’m not so, go have fun and I’ll see you on Monday"
The Skype line went dead and JD slammed her computer shut. ”FUCK!” No, this couldn’t be how the story ended. There was more to it, there had to be. She was not going to lose!
Cool, just post it here when your done and tag myself and @Lady Amalthea in it so we can review. Make sure you pay close attention to the rules for CS which are stated in the first post of the OOC
