Class: "Well, I'm what most people would call a Satyr, so call me a monster if you want. Just know I got nature on my side...And a bear."
Devotion: "I don't quite paint myself as the devotion type."
Familiar: "Monza, my dear grizzly. He fends for himself most nights and I never really worry about feeding the big guy; in fact most nights he feeds me."
Spell List: "I can talk with most mammals, would you consider that a spell?"
Backstory: "We Satyr live far less constricted lives than that we observe in humans and the like. We don't confine ourselves to tribes or towns, we're a nomadic race. Most of us would pleasantly live out our entire lives travelling the world's forests; getting drunk and planting our seed, but some of us strive for more. I can smell adventure from a mile away and I'm not the kind of Satyr to turn tail and hide behind the bigger guy, that being said I don't really like getting hurt and I normally have Monza do all the fighting for me.
I've had Monza since he was pretty tiny so he listens to anything I say, and when he gets a little too rambunctious, my flute can normally soothe him...Normally. When you have a bear, not much scares you; the only thing that scares me are what my people call the Faun, they're just like us but their heads are a whole lot goatier and their attitude are far nastier.
It was right along the outskirts of Dunmoore, capital of the mountain dwarves, where Casino Dungeon appeared. Magical, instantly it was there; decorated in large black and white dice and large suits of armor wielding spade-shaped halberds. Spotlights shined across the skies; coating the stars with light pollution the likes of the mountains had never seen.
Upon the discovery of Casino Dungeon the population of dwarves and the like approached angrily but cautiously. A voice, piercing and shrill.
"Come one and all to a heathen's wonderland! Casino Dungeon is open and ready for business!"
The owner of the voice remained unseen however. The voice boomed from speakers built not only into the entrance but it echoed much further than that.
Hidden speakers found in trees, homes, even nations away. The voice screeched the seemingly cryptic message. As time went on the casino was seen as a tourist attraction and great business partner with Dunmoore. Casino Dungeon had earned its place, it was a haven of sin and merriment.
More and more the people discovered the secrets of the establishment and then, two years after its spontaneous birth a new message:
"If you had one wish. What would it be? Wealth? Happiness? Peace among broken lands?"
Later that same day the Dwarvish capital was overthrown by the armies of the voice; all dawning the same armor and weapons as the suits decorating the casino. His face broadcasting to all radios and televisions across the lands. His words immortalized through technology and the history books.
"One wish remains, I've used my two as you can see. I offer the third wish granted to me to whoever can brave the trial of my dungeon. Only at Dungeon Casino, right off of where Dunmoore used to be. Can't miss it." __________________________________________________________________________________________
Many from all races and walks of life ventured out to Ferrey, the newly named capital of goblins. The city became a tourist trap, losing all of the Dwarvish culture it has been famous for, Ferrey replaced it with a never-ending party. Brave adventurers faced the trials of the dungeon, alas none have yet to succeed. Notably, due to the entire dungeon being displayed to all televisions during airing times, the dungeon led to the creation of Dungeon Race, the trendiest television game-show ever. __________________________________________________________________________________________ I just typed this up, shall I post character sheets or should I just give up on my hopes and dreams?
I have a loose idea and basic plot for a story; You play a hero - band of heroes - pet, and attempt to delve to the bottom of a giant dungeon ran by a little goblin mastermind for a television show.
Heroes could be of any race, that could function within dungeon, pets would work similarly. Basic classes would be supplied; ie. Fighter, Mage, Cleric, etc.
The entire premise of the game would be to reach floor 100, for a wish granted as a reward for keeping the goblin entertained (and making him fabulously wealthy/famous). __ I have something written up that I posted before when I had first joined the site. Would anyone be interested? If anyone is I can post the whole story and character sheets. __
Hello. I've seen this ad and the one over in the casual section. I don't think your idea is necessarily poor or even as unorganized as you think. But for some people you may want to offer additional clarification on certain rules and structures. Especially if you intend on pursuing this in the advanced section ( and be sure that is what you want to do because rps in this section will have certain expectations placed on them by players.)
For example. How might things like magic work? What classes can people play and what setting might you be drawing inspiration from? Is this a D&D-esque dungeon crawl? Etc, etc.
Also don't be worried if people don't immediately flock to your post. Sometimes it takes a few days for an idea to leave the interest stage. And there are Sometimes people who are interested but are waiting to see if anyone else posts interest first.
If this is your first time on this site i reccomend sticking to the casual section. It will be eaiser on you as a DM to control and keep pace with.
I was attempting to get a read on if the plot sounded interesting to folks as a whole, the last forum site similar to this one the process seems to have been different than here. We would typically post a rough idea before fleshing it out to avoid making a long-winded story that nobody is interested in. I was thinking set classes akin to D&D but with new classes likely added in. Races would have proficiency in the classes, but the idea would be total free-control to some degree. Any plausible race with any preferred class.
Magic I didn't think too much into; which is why I was wondering if it would be better to use dice-rolls or just roll on the honor system.
I think you may be right about trying casual first since it's my first time on this site, would dice-rolls be appropriate there or are they more suited for advanced?
I tried posting this earlier in casual, but I may have either been in the wrong place or nobody was digging the idea. I thought I should give it one more shot. So, I'm new so I don't know exactly how to go about collaborations or interest checks. It's a fairly simple idea of a 100 floor dungeon where parties, or single adventurers can make their way up the tower. I'll post the opening that I have written up but the main goal was to make most of it unfold as we go floor by floor, thinking a few floors ahead to avoid delay. Let me know what you think, if it needs rewritten or changed around I'm open to suggestions and ideas.
In terms of playable races I've always wanted to try an open-style where as many "bipedal" races can take place; not just humans, elves, dwarves. We would simply work out a balanced way for each race to function. If someone didn't want a "default" race they could simply explain their character and race, all the benefits and downsides and we could try to find a way to introduce that character in.
A few "default" races could be the simple: Humans Elves Dwarves ETC __
"The year is 266 AE."
"At the start of the cycle, two-hundred and sixty-six years ago a war raged across the land, destroying many lands, dividing others, and killing so many. The humans of Nastron ripped each other to shreds over the land, dwarves siding with the western kingdom Astronus; the elves choosing the eastern kingdom Nastronia. This war led to catastrophic consequences. Weapons of unimaginable strength in technology and magics were used and resulted in permanent alterations to the very land, climate, inhabitant and world as a whole. After the end, the humans vowed peace; as well did the other elder races. Now, the same threat arises as Nastronia races begin fighting over land once more.
As long as the inhabitants of the First Plane have quarreled over land and mere properties, seemingly locking them in a limbo of war with each other. Nastron being the largest continent, it is seen as the prize of all prizes for the competing nations. New Nastronian humans battle tirelessly over what they believe to be their land. While the elves and dwarves aid once more, now with fae-folk and valley-folk fighting.
While the nearby island-continent of Shi and larger nearby continent of Triope prepare for war to unfold, the distant land of Esortia watches on cautiously."
"However, that's not why you're here."
"You're here for the wish aren't you? The limitless wish, no strings attached, you know? I take it you got my poster?"
"All-powerful artifacts don't come around very often, you know? Not every goblin would be willing to part with such a sweet sweet prize, you know? A limitless wish; an endless stream of wealth, a peaceful conflict to this inevitable world war, is it fame?
Whatever your wish is, is not my concern. I'm just the master of this little game. If you don't wanna play I can't force you, you know? If you wanna play though, just step right up. Don't be shy.
I took this die here, and made my two wishes. First, a giant, unbreakable tower filled to the brim with horrible monster and challenges that all work for me. Secondly, cameras for the whole world to see the marvelous events within of course.
A goblin's gotta make money, you know?
All adventurers welcome, I don't discriminate on the number of legs or the color of flesh, you know? I'm ready when you are, first adventurer(s) to reach floor one-hundred get a wish granted of their own design."

A structure which size rivals the gods stands alone in a mountain-range, stretching far into the sky, kisses the heavens in the very center of Nastron, a war-torn land. It seemingly appeared overnight on a particularly gory night of battle between the opposing nations of New Nastronians and Astronians.
Thought far from any settlements, it was easily seen for miles, a black pillar stretching to the very heavens. Many of each race joined together to greet this addition to the landscape to be introduced to the "chance of a lifetime" a small goblin sitting a stop a giant twenty-sided die spoke clearly to them. "The tower you see is real and very amazing, you know?" He started.
"The one that can make it to the top of this bad boy gets a wish, a seemingly limitless wish from what I've seen. This tower is unbreakable, try to prove me wrong. No promises on your safety though, you know? I packed this baby with thousands of monsters that all work without question for me."
"I decided I have a pretty good thing going here and have very generously decided to give away my last wish to anyone who can complete my challenge, you know?"
Upon the first few entering the endless black tower through giant, contrasting golden doors around the world televisions flickered to the live-feed inside the tower. It wasn't long before those who had entered died, but the trap was set. The blood-thirsty nation wanted more of the tower, and hopeful adventurers set out to meet the tower's challenge.

Any ideas on how to clean up the plot or organize it into a more pleasant reading experience would be lovely. I feel like it's a hassle to read. Also, would this be nicer going on an honor system for making the story engaging or should the default be dice-rolls to determine encounters?
