Not that I know of. If you quote a quote, it just deletes the previous quote and replaces it with <snipped quote by XX person>, so you should be okay if you need to quote a lot.

Well okay, so a bit forward, but if I have an idea for a story should I just slam that bad boy in or should I go through the would would it be better for me to go through the whole interest check rigmarole?

Interest checks are generally the best way to drum up activity, yes. It's better than going in blind without anyone interested beforehand.
