“Oho? A magic weapon? My my aren’t you full of surprises.”

Looking at the fire arm she was careful with the weapon. She aimed it towards the sky and pulled the trigger, then looked for any lose parts on the gun that she could pry open. If not, she looked for whatever was keeping the weapon together such as screws or nails.

“How long have you been practicing magic? Or perhaps... You must be a novice!”

The woman smiled and held the gun over her shoulders. She seemed to be putting something together in her head.

“Yeah, it’s make sense. Young man with a powerful weapon, powerful magic, uses both in premature anger. Ooooh let me guess, daddy issues? Or maybe someone insulted your honor? Did they not have your favorite sweet rolls so you decided to go vent by murdering random animals?”
“You must have gone deaf using that weapon of yours! I said give me your weapon. Or are you a ‘live by the sword die by the sword’ type who trusts their tools over people?”

The woman put her ya d down and gave the boy a cheeky smile. She seemed to enjoy seeing his reactions.

“If you can’t trust me with your weapon, how can you expect me to trust you with my life? I don’t know about you, mister stranger, but where we come from we do t just assume goodness in other people’s hearts. Loyalty is tested when you have nothing left, not when you have everything you need.”
The woman smiled, extending her hand outward to Odum.

“Give me your weapon.”
The woman turned to Odum with an inquisitive look. She seemed genuinely curious at his request.

“Oh? And why should a complete stranger want the company of another complete stranger? Besides, you seem like a dangerous fellow.”

She patted the bloodied bag of animal parts on his back.

“You didn’t exactly kill these things because you were hunting. You just killed them out of shortsighted anger. Why, if I didn’t know any better, I was a bit worried that you might’ve just shot me without a care in the world.”

The woman turned back around and started walking, but then stopped. “Well... I suppose the roads have been lonely. However I still can’t travel with someone I can’t trust. So how about this: prove that you’re a good, loyal sort of person.”
“Tree lady? Nah, far from it. Just a traveling smith who decided to follow death and destruction.”

The lady picked up half a dead rabbit that Odum had killed. It wasn’t a clean kill as the thing was still breathing, or perhaps that was just muscle spasms. Either way she put the rabbit and the rest of the dead animals into a bag for her to eat later. And there were a lot of dead animals.

“They say a weapon reflects the warrior. Does that make you dangerous random creatures and prone to going off at the slightest twitch?”

The woman chuckled as she grabbed her things and left the forest. She was eager to try to make herself a weapon like his, now that she saw it up close. All she needed was some materials and a place to work.
“You sure do make a lot of noise don’t you? Scared off all the animals a mile around.”

Sitting on a log behind Odum was a pale looking woman with white hair. She seemed cheerful and curious.

“Haven’t seen one of those in a while. Looks more complex then the usual boomsticks I’ve seen. Where’s you find it?”
Feast and Shatter looked through the board, but before Feast was done reading Shatter took one of the notices off the board and raised it up. It was the "Must Saviors Die?" request. She didn't really read through the entire time and just picked out the important worlds like "Army", "Death", and "Dangerous". She didn't even know it was a search and rescue mission and even if it was, surely they could search and rescue their target after dealing with everyone else. Feast read it over and figured it might be a good quest for Shatter, so long as someone could direct her in the right direction. Feast was getting a bit sleepy so she gave Shatter and hug and went back inside of her armor.

"I'll take this one! Where do I go?"

Shatter slammed the notice in front of Neils and looked directly into his eyes. His blue visor had ghostly lights coming from inside that would be blinding from such close range to his face.

Dancing and swiping at the knight, Danica was about to go for the final blow when a bolt shot into the paladin's neck. he fell to the ground dead as Dancia turned to face her new enemy, but instead she saw a dwarf who simply nodded to her and ran. She gave the dwarf an inquisitive scowl before he ran off. The rest of the paladin's soldiers quickly lose moral and were routed, giving Danica time to flee. However the only safe was to go was where many other soldiers, presumable enemies of her current enemies, where fleeing towards. She'd hope that saving that Pegasus rider would provide her some protection.

Eventually Danica arrived to a clearing where things were considerably calmer. She put her sword away and tighten the cloak around her body. Though these people seemed thankful, she still had to be wary around these strangers. Last thing she wanted was to get entrapped in some royal scheme. Which... She ultimately was. Apparently these people were princes and princesses of the different powers in the world, or at least influential people associated with them. Danica had no idea what she got herself into. The girl she saved, Emma, at least thanked Danica so she knew she was safe for now. But now she needed to decide who to go with. Danica didn't know any of these people but admittedly, she knew a time like this was bound to happen. War was brewing and if Danica didn't fight, she'd get swallowed by the chaos. And that's not how she operated.

Walking up to Emma, Danica pulled her hood down and flicked her hair out from her cloak. She gave the reckless girl a smirk. "I guess I'll stick with you. You'll need me to watch your back after all." Danica turned to the others and bowed her head. "My name is Danica, a simple dancer trying to make a living in these trying times. Though I suppose I'll be more useful as a soldier for now."

Not really, no. I was hoping that maybe you all may have noticed something inconsistent about his temple and religious order and might've tried to look into it yourself. And if you didn't, then he was a good spy. Like I said they aren't going to try to harm the group while Joseph works for them, and even if he dies they'll just send another, or OoC they stop being involved since if Joseph is dead I'm probably using a new character or left the RP.

How rare are we talking? I figured maybe there might be a few pockets of human villages hidden around the world. And his life wasn't faked; for the most part he really was just a regular human trying to survive this world full of monsters and demons. Then the demon temple recruited him as well as many others and trained them to be their minions. I can change that Joseph does come into the camp like the other humans, though the demons would still be spying through him since he is one of their few paladins, so they'd have a reason to watch him closely anyways.

But if you don't like the character I guess that's it then. I hope your RP does well.
@Spriggs27

I added more information about his protection magic.

What sort of issues do you have with his shield? I guess you don’t like a shield being able to block magic. When I meant deflect I mean how sometimes when an arrow hits a shield it doesn’t go into the shield but bounces off. It doesn’t mean the spell is automatically reflected back to the mage. It does mean a mage has to be more precise with his magic instead of just shooting and expecting it to go through his shield. It’s basically a magic resistant shield.

I might have exaggerated it, but I just mean to say that Joseph is really good with his sword. He’s not a barbarian who simply swings around a big heavy weapon and just uses his strength to deal damage. He is strong, but he knows how to aim his strokes to where it’ll do the most damage instead of just hacking away trying to overpower everyone.

I didn’t mention it because it’s a secret even to Joseph, but his “Holy Order” is actually controlled by demons. He’s been brainwashed to be their knight who thinks he’s fighting a great evil, but he’s just a spy who thinks he’s a hero. They’ve been sending him visions and training him to become a knight so they could have someone in the camp who is unwittingly feeding his temple information. That’s not to say they mean to hurt you guys; they just know that since they’re actually demons, no one will trust them. So they raise and manipulate humans like Joseph to be their frontman.
