“A thousand?!” He exclaimed in disbelief. He’d never had that much at one time in his life, so it certainly surprised him a bit.
“Well, thank you, Rei. You’re too generous.” He gave Reya a genuine smile, feeling a little overwhelmed by her generosity, though he managed to keep his cool. It definitely made him like her even more. He looked back to Ryan as the blonde asked if he wanted a drink.
“Yeah, um, a beer would be great. Thank you.”Marcus walked in with Reya as her brother headed to the bar, his eyes scanning the Manor observantly before they fell on the shorter Romus sister, smiling softly at her, unable to help a slight blush when she passed the compliment on from Mali.
“Thanks, Victoria. Your sister, and her partner too, both have great voices as well.” Marcus felt his anxiety bubble up again at Vika’s next comment, and being called an egg, worried that Reya would react badly to the insinuation that they were together, like she did at Swan Songs. Luckily, she was simply confused about the egg comment, which relieved him quite a bit.
His attention was drawn back to Vika for a moment as she spoke to him, looking a little uneasy. He gave her a concerned look, nodding in understanding.
“Yeah, that’s okay… Do… Do you need anything?” He asked softly, although it was answered quickly by Ethan’s theatrical entrance. He was a little surprised, though he smirked, moving to stand beside Reya, giving her a
‘Yo are you hearing this??’ kind of look as Ethan dropped the scandalous bombshell, in the earshot of eavesdroppers and paparazzi.
Marcus couldn’t help but chuckle softly as Ryan inserted himself back into the conversation with a sudden story about a panda in a bar.
“A Panda… Really?” He questioned in disbelief with a snicker, taking the beer from him.
“Thank you, though.” He said before listening to his story with a smirk. He turned back around as Ethan approached them, smiling at the rockstar and grasping his hand in a firm shake.
“Thanks, Ethan. Good to see ya.” He smiled brightly as he apologised to Reya, listening to Reya’s response intently. It was nothing she hadn’t said to him herself, but it still felt good to hear.
Marcus stood there for a few moments, sipping on his beer and looking around the manor, observing the other groups and conversations going around around him, before being drawn back to the conversation between the twins, smirking as Reya threatened her brother with a trash can if he didn’t behave. He looked at Ryan with a smirk, before he leaned over and whispered to him. He wasn’t sure how to react to Ryan’s words for a moment, before starting to smile uncontrollably. Did… Did he just get the brother’s seal of approval? He stood there smiling for a moment, before he realised how dumb he might look.
“Oh…. Really…? Umm… I don’t… Really?” He asked Ryan, a dumb, happy look on his bright red face. He brought his drink to his lips, draining half of it, before trying to act casual.
