Guardian Angel was a useful little gadget. Round and around she went. No one seemed to notice the quiet little drone, the pitch black paint blending in perfectly with the dark purple overcast Castleburg night.

There were about ten people in the warehouse. A little more than half of them were dressed up as workers, going to and fro and fiddling with things. The remaining few were probably muscle, dressed up in more casual street clothes. More metahumans, maybe? If there was one constant in this world, it was that metahumans didn't like uniforms. They always wanted to stand out, at least a little bit. Retain their individuality. Clearly they've never participated in a Black Bloc protest. Penny has. Her first "costume" was just an outfit she had worn to a counterprotest.

Hopefully, they weren't all metahumans. Or at least, they weren't metahumans with impressive powers. Anyone above a C-tier usually isn't just standing around on guard duty all day long. Even if they were above C, the element of surprise was the great equalizer. The vast majority of powers relied on line of sight and being aware of your target. Stealth attacks were the weakness of many, many superpowers. Almost all of them.

And since there were explosive, and possibly valuable chemicals in the lab, she wouldn't have to worry too much about AoE attacks. If she did, then, well, it was more likely they would blow themselves up before they blew her up.

There. Guardian Angel spotted it's secondary target. A breaker box on the outside of the building, unguarded. The drone flew back to her and was placed back into its box, job done for now. Attaching her scythe to the roof, Vengeance repelled down using its chain. She hopped off and broke open the steel boxes with her other bladed weapon. Sheathing that, she produced her right, electric baton, and flicked it on. Once she did this, they'd know something was up.

She held onto the chain with one hand. With a series of deep clunks, she flicked all the levers from one end to the other. All the lights in the warehouse went out one by one. Now, she reached for her baton. The weapon crackled to life, and she slammed it into the circuit breaker. No stopping it now.

(Darkness falls.)

The Vengeance Armor was resistant to electricity, but she wasn't worried about that. Her muscles did twitch slightly, but she shook it off as she disconnected.

Now that those inside the warehouse were submerged in darkness, it was time for the vigilante to strike. Tapping a button on the side of her mask, lenses appeared over her eyes, completing the air-tight seal over her face. She ascended up the side of the building and dashed into the vents. Crawling at high speed she maneuvered into the building itself, peaking down through grates into the warehouse below.

The main air ducts were easy enough to crawl through, but there were several off shoots that only air was supposed to travel through. She could hear whirring fans and feel the pull of the current.

(Something's in the air tonight.)

Confident that the filters built into her mask would hold, Shadow Scythe Vengeace began deploying her chemical warfare. From below, people would see dark grey smoke clouds began to billow out of the ventiation system. Vision obscuring clouds, making the darkened high areas of the warehouse borderline impossible to see through. As quietly as she could, Scythe used her steel-slicing blade to cut through one vent in particular, when she was sure no one was looking at it. If people were using flash lights to compensate, that essentially offered her a free view of the drug dealers' cone of vision.

Once through the vent, she used her scythes and her impressive upper body strength to not drop directly down, but instead stick her scythes into the steel and climb up and around to the top of the lowered duct. There she leaped to a nearby rafter. Night vision guided her way from steel beam to steal beam. Like a rat in the attic she hopped around, gauging the situation.

From her advantaged position, she produced one of her bolas. That high-durability and flexibility fibre, ended with two heavy metal spheres. She raised them, twirled them around her head to build speed, and threw them full force at the person she thought was most out of position. The man who seemed to be in charge, with the marine head and gills. If it hit, it would wrap around his upper body, smack into him and knock him over to the ground.

(Let the hunt begin!)

Sakura looked at Bowser with a confused look on her face. "W-well, all that doesn't matter. Just be nice, Mister Bowser." Especially infront of Rika. She got the impression Rika was more, uh, impressionable, then Bella. She wasn't used to being the same size as Bowser. She was used to his big turtle dragon form.

The brunette blinked as Rika tore a piece right off of her dress. "Oh, Rika-chan! Don't-" Sakura held her tongue. It was already done. Would be bad to make Rika feel silly about it, now. "Yes, that does help. Thank you." Sakura took it and blew her nose. Shortly thereafter her face was much cleaner, felt better, and she could see more clearly again. The crying was cathartic and all, but it wasn't practical.

Sakura balled up the torn piece of fabric and...awkwardly let it fall into the water. The roughness of the material did mean her little nose was a little red.

Once this was all done, she could finally focus on the distant, epic battle. A giant piece of metal was dropped right on the fishmonsters head. "Oooh! Take that!"

Geralt soon joined in. "Nailed him!" Sakura pumped her fist, unaware of her pun.

Then a little fireball fell into the water. "...Yeaaah! Chase him off!" Sakura hesitated as she thought what encouraging thing she should say. At least he could still throw a fireball at all. Meanwhile, Mirage was excited that he found the controls using the BULL. Which was great, but nobody else could see what he saw so in Sakura's opinion it was a waste of time to hang out by him. If she wanted to help Junior and Duerage, she would have to be paying attention for ways she could help while up here. Bella could stay over by him for moral support, too.

Rika pointed out a collection of knick knacks as Bowser tried to lure the bad fish monster over with some horrible jar. "E to..." Sakura thought. A TV? A doll? "I dunno. Cute doll, kinda." Sakura went over to the bottles. "Maybe these are bombs or potions or something? Or maybe just empty glass bottles could be useful somehow. Like distractions or something? Do you know what's in them, if anything?"

The girl looked for labels. Written in Japanese or English, hopefully. Failing that, Sakura started opening some bottles to try and get a look at the substance on the inside.

"Or we could just try to get someplace high and drop the TV on the fish guy's head." Or maybe they could find something to eat. They were all starving.

"I'll make it up to you." Jesse said to Midna, only half-joking. It seemed the princess could store anything she wanted, as she saw her do it with one of Fuse's guns. That was a good idea. Unfortunately, Jesse could only store things with a connection to the Astral Plane within the Astral Plane. Still, she didn't want to leave a rocket launcher lying around, now that she thought about it. She pulled it towards her and slung it over her shoulder, in that way video game characters can do. Hopefully it didn't bite her ear.

Her shots connected, the Dragonborn falling over and summong some kind of demon to his aid. Said fire demon beset herself upon Mao. Or, was that Laharl? She got them mixed up.

Now, the Skyrim guy was reaching into his pocket to pull out- another emergency escape button. Mao was totally distracted by the Astronach. Cleverly, he put his axe infront of his axe to deflect bullets. Jesse was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume that he wasn't an idiot. His axe was probably magic, and he probably had the strength to actually block a few shots from her high powered gun. Alternatively, maybe he was just some ignorant viking who didn't know any better, or he was just dumb. Still, if there was one thing the Director didn't want to do, it was underestimate her opponents.

So instead, she tried an alternative plan of attack. Disruption. Jesse extended her energies to the ground right on the other side of the prone Dragonborn. With a pull, she wrenched a piece of concrete right to herself- and right through the Dragonborn. This would bounce and skid the warrior right to her, if it didn't kill him outright. The impact might prevent him from using his homeward bone, she wasn't sure. Walking forward, she switch the Service Weapon from Grip, to Shatter. The pistol-like weapon shifted easily into an abstract representation of a one-handed shotgun. The end of the barrel become disconnected, and horizontally wide.

Knocking the wounded Dragonborn toward her with a piece of concrete, she levelled her shotgun down at his form and pulled the trigger at extremely close range. The psychic bullets erupted forth from the gun and plunged into his center of mass. It was called 'Shatter' for a reason. Jesse had learned her lesson: no mercy. Her enemies were too dangerous and unpredictable to be given an inch.
off line i guess. too bad, i was looking forward to it

The woman in the red shirt cracked one eye open as she was asked a question. This was Travis Einstein, also known as Dead Man. One of the newer recruits. Tough as a walnut, apparently. Ever since joining up thirty or so years ago, Pandora's slowly been developing her "actually try" muscles again. So she knows everyone's names and a basic outline of their powers, too. Wonders could be worked if one bothered to read the files. It's also why she didn't just tell him to fuck off with some kind of biting remark. Not that the option wasn't extremely tempting.

So tempting was the option, that she ended up kind of doing it anyway. It was like second nature.

"We've penciled the pirates in to arrive at 4:15 PM, Travis. The scrap should take about five minutes, clean up about ten. That way everyone'll be home for supper." She replied, not a hint of sarcasm in her voice. The northern british accent she maintained out of spite was clear in her voice. Pandora switched the crossing of her legs, adjusting how the suspenders sat on her shoulders.

A few moments later, a very quiet voice prodded into the room. Pandora turned over her shoulder to see the girl introduce herself as Marcie. The Donnelly-Alexander girl, one of the daughters of Patricia and Eliza. From what little she had seen, it definitely seemed like she took after Eliza. Especially the "Murmer" part. Eighteen already, ready to be a soldier. Shuffle in left, exit stage right. So it goes.

"Speak up, love, we can barely hear you. You can sit wherever you'd like, as long as it isn't the window sill." Pandora replied. Then Pandora leaned down, reaching under her seat and fetching her satchel. Retrieving it she began sifting through. Would she try to...entertain these two? Maybe. Failing that, she could at least annoy them slightly.

"You two ever play a game called Twenty-One? You might know it as Blackjack." From her satchel she produced a deck of playing cards. Extending a hand out to the side of the train, she pulled out a little table. There wasn't a table there, as far as she knew, but there was one now, for she willed it so. She even wrapped a hand on the bottm of the table and yanked a stand out of it, welding it to the floor with a nudge of her foot so it wouldn't fall over.

"Get two random cards, tell the dealer to give you another one in the goal to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. Whoever has the closest, wins. I, the dealer, put down two cards of my own. If my hand ends up the closest, both of you lose. If you two aren't interested, I'll just play solitaire and you can watch on longingly. But we have some time to kill until 4:15 PM. And I'm well away how easily you people get bored." Pandora said. Holding the cards in her hand, she began shuffling them about in various ways with her Alteration powers. Mixing them in with each other and floating them from hand to hand. Oooh, aaah. For a long time there she was worried about what might happen if people put together what her powers were. Only so many heroes in existence with Absolute Matter Alteration. But Pandora stopped giving a shit about that before she even joined up with HERO. Keeping her original name off people's lips was the only reason she even bothered with the whole incognito thing. Besides, there'd probably be some sort of...kerfuffle. However minor, after all these years. Just let people speculate. Maintaining the secrecy of her powers themselves was just a pain in the ass.

Sakura looked up at the Mockingbird as he finally realised his situation. Poor guy. It really was Mirage. A digital copy, maybe, but...well, Kasugano Sakura has made friends with at least two clones. People call in all shapes and sizes from all different places and sources. This diving suit with a consciousness was no different.

Much to her surprise, the diving suit knelt down and started to apologize to her. For what happened to Carl. Sakura thought she was done crying for now, but she wasn't. Geez! She was going to carve a canyon into her cheeks at this rate. Or die of dehydration.

"Oh...oh it's okay, Mister Mira- uh. Mirage-kun." She reassured him, wiping her eyes in vain. Sakura corrected herself based on his request from earlier, to not make him feel old.

"Thank you, though. For the apology. It does make me feel better." Sakura sniffed. She glanced over at the murky waters, thinking about that horrible man/kitty eating monster they were going to have to face off with. They were under there, ready to jump out and try to gobble up one of her friends. If only she could do anything to help! She definitely felt like one of the worst kid versions out of everyone here. Compared to what Bowser Jr could do, it was downright embarassing.

The diving suit didn't seem to mind though. With a bout of showmanship he leapt to meet the challenge. "Wha-" Sakura said in surprise. She laugh-cried. "B-be careful Duerage! It's dangerous down there! Take care of Junior-kun for us!" Sakura wiped at her face again. It really wasn't doing anything, though. Shallow breathes were all she could manage.

Now she stood next to Bella. "They'll be fine, Miss Bella. Junior's the best pilot out of all of us, you know?" Sakura reassured her friend. And herself.

It looked like the plan was to distract the fish man, making plenty of noise somewhere else so Junior, Duerage, and Junior's pet Pokemon, and Mirage remote piloting the BULL. (...Mister Carl...oh, darn it.)

The idea of the BULL drove a knife to the inside of Sakura's belly, reminding her of the hunger. She'd managed to ignore it sometimes, mainly because of her training. She'd gone a long time without food before. But now, the pain was getting to her in reminding her of the bad things that had happened thus far. At least she managed to help Duerage see the truth. Now she just needs to help him workshop a better name.

Rika and Bowser were having a conversation, one she thought she would butt in on. "Mister Bowser! Be nice to Mister Link. He's on our team. And he's being very brave." She looks at Rika. Trying to be a better example for her. "The only way..." She inhales, catching her breathe. "The only way we're winning, is if we work together." The kid punched her palm to emphasize her point. Her face was still pretty red from all the crying she had been doing. And still was partially doing. Realising this she turned away, embarassed.

"Man. Does anyone have...a tissue or something?" She sniffed. Her hands really weren't doing the job.
Yonaka Aimi

'My favorite'? Did he really just say that? Or was that just a joke? Yonaka froze for a moment, like someone was animating her on 2's instead of on 1's. Yonaka wasn't sure how Minato could say things like that while also being a god damn brick wall in other aspects. "You got it."

Yonaka snapped back to attention as her own (second) favorite person stepped out onto the rooftop. "Mai Li!" The senior shouted, throwing her hands up into the air. Dropping her kendo stick with a clatter she jogged over and took to Mai Li's side. She could tell already people were giving the kid some weird looks, and if they were giving her weird looks that meant, by extension, they were judging Yonaka's choices. Which was, of course, not cool. Yonaka Aimi didn't make mistakes.

"Didn't keep us waiting at all. You're right on time. Unlike Little Miss Perfect." Yonaka said, slapping Mai Li on the shoulder. Complimenting Mai Li while deriding Akina- the best of both worlds.

The violet haired woman now listened to Ikue, who was giving them a briefing. Ikue was cool enough, though Yonaka wished she actually committed to the gang instead of just being a satellite member. Until then she was never sure she could trust the voice on the other end of these weird new tiny phones.

Someone going around beating up first years? Why? Student Council. Parasites! Yonaka's eye twitched as she felt a surge of anger travel up and down her spine. She exhaled behind her mask, keeping herself calm.

"Well. I guess we just need to find out who and break their jaws. Heh, if anything," Yonaka looked down at Mai Li. "You could be bait, Mai Li-chan. Wait for them to come find you, all by your little lonesome, and then if there's anything left once you're done with them, the rest of us play clean up." Yonaka shook Mai Li's shoulder encouragingly. Whether or not Yonaka was being sincere was hard to tell. But she didn't seem to be interested in treating Mai Li as some helpless child. If people wanted to underestimate her, that was their mistake. From how her 'plan' sounded, that was what she was relying on.

Yonaka looked brightly between all the other members. Ana, Ten-Ton, Yuya, and of course Ishida. "This is our chance. We can find out whose doing this, and make 'em squeal."

The rockets connected! Her plan worked pretty damn well. Shadow the Hedgehog (Yes, the one from the video game) briefly appeared and screwed over his teammate. Shortly there afterward, her new semi-sentient rocket launcher blew Fuse to bits. Well, mostly. He was still alive, which was good. He used something to warp out. She'd probably have to beat him twice.

"I have no idea how to reload this thing." Jesse said, taking a closer look at her rocket launcher. After a few moments she just set it down on the floor. It was just slowing her down. Maybe she'd go back and pick it up later, or something.

"Anyway." Jesse plucked at the fabric of her shirt, which was also repaired by the Friend Heart.

Now that she was free of Galeem's influence, Jesse's eyes were the blue-green they were supposed to be instead of covered by that red sheen. A great weight had been lifted off her shoulders as she could now comprehend the full depth of the situation. There was nothing she hated more than not having full control of her faculties. For the first time in a long time, she could think clearly.

"Thank you, Princess Midna." Jesse went over to Midna to take her hand and shake it.

"Thank you so much for whatever you just did. I finally know what we're up against!" She smiled. "Oh, and, uh, saving my life. That's what I get for going easy on people." Jesse wouldn't make that mistake again. It was shoot to kill from here on out. If that guy could survive getting blown to hell, then there was no reason to do anything other than open fire at full force. Let them get lucky or unlucky, for all she cared.

Jesse sighed, putting a hand on her own shoulder and rolling it. "Jesus Christ. This is the largest Altered World Event in history. That must be what the Metaverse is. Thresholds of different worlds being pulled together-" Cutting herself off, she looked at Midna and shrugged.

"Apologies. Bureau jargon. And also, teenager jargon." The redhead glanced around. Time to focus on the situation at hand. "Unfortunate we couldn't capture that guy. At least we shut him up, though, huh? Wonder where he went. Or maybe we got lucky and he just vaporized himself."

Jesse Faden surveyed the battle scene for a moment. A decent portion of the group had been split off from the other by a teleport. However a large amount of skirmishes were still happening in the center room. The two kids were battling a viking. The Dragonborn, who Jesse now recognized as the Skyrim Guy. The two overlords needed help, it looked like. Or at least, they could use it. Maybe they were demons or wizard or whatever, but they still looked and acted like bratty kids. So the Director was inclined to help them.

"I'm going over there." Jesse said to Midna, pointing to the Dragonborn and Mao's showdown. The Phantom Thieves were going to help Ciella with her punch-woman problem. The Director summoned forth her Service Weapon and sprinted forward. Once she was about twenty feet away she got into a crouching position and lined up a shot on the Dragonborn. Mao was going in for some kind of showy bounce-off-the-wall attack. A skilled viking warrior might have something to say about that. In order to help prevent him from dodging or blocking, Jesse aimed for Dragonborn's lower half. Hitting his legs anywhere would reduce his mobility or just hurt like hell and distract him. It also reduced the chance for friendly fire, since Mao was in the air. With all this in mind, she fired off several hard-hitting rounds at the back of the Dragonborn's kneecaps. Ouch.
Amy Rose

"Honey the Cat, Mina Mongoose, Cream the Rabbit." Amy muttered to herself as Mina introduced herself. She looked over at the Chaotix. "Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Charmy the Bee!" She pointed to each of them in turn, as if she was just remembering their names.

"Wha-." She ran a hand through her pink hair. "Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails the Fox." She points at her heart. "Amy the- Rose?" A long pause, her eyes glaze over as if in the midst of an existential crisis. She snaps out of it, literally snapping her fingers.

"Oh, that's right! I chose my last name because I like Roses. And their meaning on the tarot cards. I guess your guys' parents must have given you your names or something, haha!" Amy declared, a bit shrill.

"Anyway! Honey the Cat! Cool outfits. Nice to meet you, Ms. Mina Mongoose." Amy curtsied.

Amy's face fell as Cream denied her offer of a spa day but, lit right back up again as she mentioned Sonic.

"You're looking for Sonic, too?! That'll give me the perfect excuse- I mean yes, I've seen him!" Amy hopped up and down. She pointed off in a direction. The place where she'd seen the blue and orange blue speed past. "He's hanging out with Tails somewhere that way. Sonic can be so hard to find sometimes, I know. Sometimes it feels like he's just straight up running away from me! But he'd never do that, really. Anyway, lets go! There's no time to lose. Sonic'll have to show up to give his speech, he'll just have too. Everyone has to hear how much of a brave hero he is! From the man himself!" Amy nodded rapidly.

"Come on, Mina, Cream, Charmy, Espie, Vector! We gotta find Sonic. We don't want him to miss out!" She looks at Mina, covering one side of her mouth. "I've heard there's gonna be music." With that she started into a run. She worked her legs as hard as she could, like she was on a treadmill underwater. But soon she was picking up speed, and the faster she went, the easter it was to run.
