Hmmm.... It's supposed to run on belief rather than ability, really, so it doesn't make a ton of sense to say that a force like adrenaline would have the same effect on one's roleplayer powers as it would have on, say, their physical strength. I guess you'd have to twist it to say that they unconsciously believed they had the ability to do something. Which, actually, I can see working in this sort of scenario, now that I think about it. With that sort of untapped ability, who knows what the brain could come up with during a fight-or-flight response.
In fact, rational thinking is kind of cut down significantly in those types of situations - rational thinking being the thing that makes those kinds of powers hard to pull off. Shut off that part of your brain and who knows what you could do.
So yeah, now that I've thought it over, makes perfect sense to me.
