Story Synopsis
The continent of Virnastia, a once peaceful land, is dominated by eight powerful kingdoms and one not-so-powerful kingdom. Burbof, Virnastia’s heart, is the smallest kingdom of all. It has no armies or stone walls, just some farms, cozy homes, and a little tower where the princess sleeps. Its more of a village, really. All was quiet and all was well until the kingdoms did as kingdoms do: they went to war. With Burbof in the center, the other kingdoms stomped, trampled, and walked all over the poor little kingdom. What are the poor Burboffians to do? Well, one day the king’s mysterious advisor (whom no one has ever heard of before) came up with a scheme to show the other kingdoms how tough little Burbof can be. They’d kidnap the princess. All the princesses, of all the kingdoms!

Kingdoms
To Burbof, there are two kinds of kingdoms: the neighbor kingdoms and the distant kingdoms. The neighbor kingdoms are close by, trade with them is regular and their culture is familiar. The distant kingdoms are more mysterious, only the well traveled know of their ways. The following has been pruned from “A Brief Guide to Virnastia”, courtesy of the Burbof public library:

Notes from the GM
This is meant to be a fun, comedic, "silly" RP while still be adventurous and "epic". It is very much jrpg and anime inspired/influenced (think DragonQuest, ChronoTrigger, Tale of _____, Fire Emblem, etc.) While I do have plans and plots for the world, I very much encourage players to do their own side stories and add to the world. This RP is collaborative, so I hope everyone will build this world together.

Going to be honest and say that I am porting over an old favourite D&D character, which is why this didn't take long to write up. ^^;

• Name: Faith Hope Charity
• Age: 17
• Race: Human
• Appearance: Whee. Heightwise, she's about 167cm/5'6".
• Job: Paladin

• Skills & Abilities: Whilst her intelligence is somewhat questionable, Faith's physical abilities are incredibly impressive. Although she doesn't look it, she's astonishingly strong, able to lift and swing her hammer one-handed despite its size and weight. She's also exceptionally skilled in combat and can use just about any weapon she picks up, although she favours her hammer. As a paladin, she possesses low levels of white magic, mostly healing charms, physical buffs and protective wards. She usually has no problem with finances, as her father's adventuring career has left her family exceedingly rich.

• Inventory: Faith wears a suit of intricately decorated plate armour, which has been enchanted to be both light and provide a bit more defence than regular armour would. She is armed with a powerful sledgehammer, a holy ancestral relic that is large and heavy enough that most men would struggle trying to weild it two-handed. As a holy relic, it deals more damage against unholy and undead targets (not that it has any trouble causing vast amounts of damage to any target, seeing how strong and heavy it is).

• Personality: Ditzy, airheaded and more than a little dim, but capable of occasional flashes of insight and common sense. She's kind of a high wisdom/low intelligence build. She's always cheerful and gets along with just about anyone, although this is likely because she's too dense to realise when someone doesn't like her. The only real exception are elves. She is horribly, horribly prejudiced towards elves, thinking that they are nothing but a bunch of aloof treehuggers who look down on everyone else. Despite this, she is very fond of fairies and the like... Despite a lot of them basically being elves with wings. Her other most negative trait is her shallowness, being more concerned with physical appearances and material possessions than anything of real substance or deep meaning. At all times, Faith speaks like a valley girl.

• History: The daughter of a famous hero who was rumoured to have saved the world from some ancient evil back in his prime. However, whilst her father was raised on the streets and had to work his way up to the top, she has had the luxury of being born into the upper class, and has never really known any hardships in her life. As her parents were often rather busy whilst she was growing up, she was instead put into the care of the Temple of Our Maiden of the Valley, a temple dedicated to a great female saint and war hero from ages past. However, other the years her word and scriptures had been corrupted, turning an order originally dedicated to good appearance, proper etiquette and serving the community into a vapid, shallow cult obsessed with such things as fashion and fitting in to be popular. At times, however, Faith can seem to be more of a throwback to the original meanings of Our Maiden of the Valley's word rather than what it has degraded to; this has led to her becoming something of a problem child for the temple. However, as her father is in such high esteem (and is very, very rich), they couldn't just excommunicate her, so instead she's been sent out on a quest to find the true meaning of Our Maiden's word, which has somehow ended up with her being recruited for this mission. Princesses know all the latest fashions, though, so at least it won't be a pointless endeavour, right?

tl;dr, she's a valley girl paladin from an entire religious order of valley girls. It was a weird campaign. >.> <.<

You're saying that most men wouldn't be able to hold a hammer that your character can pick up with ease. That essentially means you have a hammer that could essentially one hit kill or crush the bones of most people. Let alone the fact that you have enchanted armour at the start of the roleplay that is still pretty OP.

I think you're taking things too seriously. Which seeing how silly this is supposed to be, might be kind of a detriment. From the OP and the interest check, I thought this wasn't supposed to be that realistic.

A heavy weapon and strength doesn't make someone OP, as long as she isn't good at everything, which she's not as far as I can tell, aside from some minor abilities in holy magic.

Also, this. Pretty sure this is going to be more of a comedic RP than an overly serious one.

Well not really, I'm just saying what's the point in a character if they are already fully kitted with the best gear from the start. It also kind of puts everyone at a disadvantage if we have someone in the party who can kill any enemy they come across. All I'm asking is that you tone down the damage it's not a big thing.

Actually all of the equipment she has is based off stuff a low level D&D character bought, so... It's far from "the best". And I don't do OHKOs. I'm far more a fan of over-the-top slapstick than anything relating to realistic combat most of the time.

Room for one more? Though I have an exam in less than an hour so I can't say more than that right now.

Also, statting up Faith as a level 1 Paladin with estimated stats: STR 18, DEX 12, CON 14, WIS 9, INT 9, CHA 16; Feats: Monkey Grip, ???. Add level 3 wealth for the equipment. I should point out that anything below level 5 is pretty within the realms of humanly possible. :p

Not quite sure how old to make her, but other than that...

  • Name: Morgana

  • Age:

  • Race: Fairy

  • Appearance: "I swear I never once stole an item in my life."

  • Job: Professional Thief

  • Skills & Abilities:
Morgana can use shrinking magic on anything inorganic. Though the bigger things are, the more difficult it is to accomplish. Anything human-sized is pretty much beyond her ability.
She can fly. And glide. And barrel roll.
And of course, she is totally the best thief in all the land.

  • Inventory:
A small notebook which details all of her stolen items, and where she's hidden them. Comes with a free miniature quill.

  • Description: A fairy who one day got bored with staying in the one kingdom forever and ever. Morgana came up with various pastimes in an attempt to appease her boredom, and eventually settled on stealing things from her fellow fairies. She found it fun to anticipate her discovery, and loved how riled it made others. Eventually, though, it was necessary for her to leave in order to avoid having half the kingdom beat her up.
Morgana's spent a long while traveling from Kingdom to Kingdom, stealing random items of varying value. Things like a warrior's sword, a student's homework, and Billy's left shoe, all in the name of fun. Of course, it wasn't long before she realised that there was nowhere to actually put all the stuff she took. Sure, she could shrinki things to her size, but that still left the small matter of storage space. She eventually took to noting down all of her escapades, should she ever need to find things again. Whether or not her hiding places were actually hidden is another story, though.
Morgana herself is a cheerful, if forgetful little fairy, who likes to over-assure others of her innocence and trustful nature. And as long as you have nothing of value, this holds true. Still, even if she means no harm, stealing is stealing, and she has seemingly no consistent definition of what's actually 'valuable'. Billy's left shoe can vouch for that.
Of course, with every successful theft, her aspirations grow. And having stolen so many things over the years, it's only natural that she set her sights on something magnificent and grand; Princesses! What better challenge could there be, than to steal some of the most important people ever? Though putting them somewehere for safe-keeping will be a bit difficult...

Name: Mamgaw Facechewer
Age: 8
Race: Goblin
Appearance:
Job: Professional Minion (in training)

Skills & Abilities: Goblins cane take a hell of a beating. They can get crushed, stabbed, dropped from low orbit, choked, bashed, slashed, or forced to read Atlas Shrugged- they take a licking and (eventually) come back kicking. It's easy to put 'em down, but the trick is getting them to stay down. This is fortunate, because they are really grating and really, really stupid. However, they work for peanuts and don't need clean living conditions, making them favored minions of evil overlords. Mamgaw, specifically, wields a spear and "armor" made of discarded clothes and things he found in the dump. He also has a rich array of hobbies, ranging from fishing to floral arrangement.

Inventory: "Armor" (a "chestplate" made out of a baking sheet, "gauntlets" made of oven mitts with wood patched on, and a "helm" composed of an enchanted bra that's as hard as steel.), a spear, a box of fishing tackle, and a bag of holding containing his "treasures"- mostly shiny objects and cool-looking rocks.

Description: Goblins are remarkably stupid. Mamgaw, of clan Facechewer is a goblin child. His judgement, at best, can be described as "poor". Unless it concerns his career prospects. Originally, the goblins just planned to kidnap a princess because that would get attention and lead to adventurers who would leave valuable garbage in their wake. But the prospect of kidnapping MULTIPLE princesses has led to him leaving the goblin enclave in the city dump, where the goblins scavenge for food and materials. He has sworn that he will become a mighty minion, and get a well-paying job with an overlord who will provide healthy references in the wake of his inevitable defeat at the hands of some hero.

Name: Gorbash the Menace
Age: 9
Race: Dragon
Appearance: Gorbash in his human form has red hair that sticks out wildly like burning flames, and gold eyes with serpentine-style pupils but otherwise looks similar to a human child, although at times his disguise slips and he takes on more dragon-like traits. He dresses in black leathery clothing with studs and spikes sticking out from it in true evil fashion, complete with fingerless, spike-knuckled gloves and even tiny spikes on his shoes. Despite being a dragon he would probably be considered short for his age were he truly a human child, a fact he resents if it is brought up.

(optional) Job: Evil Overlord! (Someday)

Skills & Abilities: Gorbash is much stronger than an equivalent human child, at least as strong as an adult human despite his young age. More importantly he also has the ability to breathe fire in short bursts, which is quite effective though not nearly as hot as the flames of a fully grown dragon. He can also shift to have wings that allow him to glide though not fly, as well as claws, sharp, pointy teeth, and a prehensile, whip-like tail. He's also been trained extensively in various forms of combat, though for the most part he relies on his innate talents.

(optional) Inventory: Gorbash's clothes have been tailored to accomodate his shapeshifting, with his gloves being fingerless to let him use his claws and his jacket and pants both having holes in them for his wings and tail. Other than that, he has a backpack designed to look like a spike-covered bright green turtle shell, its properties magically enhanced to make it extremely durable and capable of storing near-infinite amounts.

Description: Gorbash the Menace is the son of a famous lord in Vorrun and has set out into the world without his father's permission in order to prove himself as already capable of being a fully fledged 'Evil Overlord' like his father. To this end he was initially planning to go with 'The Most Classic Evil Scheme of All!" namely stealing a princess. When he heard tell of the Burboffians plans to kidnap ALL of the princesses, he decided he couldn't allow them to upstage him, the future Greatest Evil Overlord of all time! Therefore he has now made it his goal to join up in the attempt to kidnap every princess in the land and prove his worth to the world and his father. Gorbash is brash and quick to anger but actually doesn't have a very good idea of what being 'Evil' is really all about. His attempts at it are usually more in line with pranks or comical over-exaggerations of evil than anything outright malevolent, and if faced with true evil he's about as likely to fight against it as any hero. He's actually basically a kindhearted, ordinary kid who's attempting to be evil to please his father and join the family business than anything else.

And hm, I wouldn't consider it a disadvantage either. As long as she's not god-modding it through the story, I don't see what's the problem with her abilities so far. The OP did say it's more of a light-hearted/comedic RP so I think it should be alright, unless they say so themselves. I happen to like her setup. :)

Name: Caredian

Age: ??? (assumed around 200,000)

Race: ??? (assumed to be a sort of demon)

Appearance:
Form 1 is what Caredian considers its default form. It feels most comfortable in this form, and will sometimes change back to it for no reason.
Form 2 is what Caredian is typically using, finding the human male an easy form to get things done in; it finds human females are often not taken as seriously as human males.
Form 3 is what Caredian will use if the situation requires it. It finds human females to be too soft and dislikes how uncomfortable most female clothing is. However, it has noticed that the human female body can be used as a good distraction, mainly against males.
((other forms will be added later))

Job: Caredian is researching how creatures interact with one another; its main focus is on humans.

Skills & Abilities: Caredian is a shapeshifter and as long as it can imagine the form, the shift will be successful. This does require a bit of concentration and can be interrupted or forced to end (go back to default form). Caredian is not a fighter, and will never enter a battle. Instead, it prefers to talk its way out of situations and has a silver tongue and quick wit. If talking fails, it will shift into something flying – often small, like an insect – and take to the sky, retreating to safety.

Description: Caredian does not remember anything past three hundred sixty-four years ago when it suddenly awoke in Burbof. It has travelled little in the time it can remember and prefers to stick near Burbof. It thinks that the key to unlocking its past might be somewhere in that town, or at least the answer to why he suddenly became conscious on that day. However, with the news of a potential war, Caredian has decided that if anything can stop the fighting from occurring, it will help to the best of its abilities.

Caredian is unemotional. It has finally come to understand the concept of emotions, however actually feeling them itself is beyond it right now. The most it has accomplished is getting stressed, which happened a few months ago when it was trying to feel happiness and was failing. Being stressed, Caredian has found out, reverts it back to its default form. This has made it wonder if perhaps it can only feel emotion when it is not using any concentration to keep up a different form.
