Realm of Garrn: The Call of Adventure

"Sit ye'selves down and I will spin you a tale 'at were long lost t'er this human world.. Tis a tale of epic adventure, grand duels 'n combat in a world o' warcraft, magic, dungeons an' the like. A place chock full o' such mystical things ne'er seen in this world. T' tales began Lon' ago, when t' King of The High Tower, Riley Kyon the First, an' his kin marched on the darkened soil of Depthre in t' final march o' t' Great War. All t' races was united 'gainst t' dark lord. T' King 'ad when all 'o a sudden out come a massive Fire Drake from t' North! T'were a battle to end t' ages, an-

'Poligies lads and lasses, seem's like I got a wee'bit carried away. Now then, where was I? Oh! 'Ere it comes back! I reckon I was startin' t' story way too early, about a hundred years, if'm bein' precise. So, 'ere's how it went: Lon' ago in t' mythical and wondrous land o' Garrn, there was a group o' heroes who set out 'pon a dangerous quest. Their journey took 'em all'round t' continents, across t' sea, through forests and mountains, an' forced then t' overcome many difficult obstacles that threatened their mission. They was guided 'long on their quest by a power th' was said t' long since have vanished from t' world. Through determination an' vigil, t' heroes managed to destroy the evil an' make t' world safe once again.

The tale started out, much like any great tale of adventure does: some'were quiet an' cosy, most likely 'n a tavern o' some kind.. Ah, yes now I remember! 'T were t' town o' Vestial where t' take first began! On a night o' celebration, no less. With the findin' o' a magical artifact, the heroes would meet in t' local tavern and venture out into t' world t' begin their quest!

So, lads and lasses.. Are ye ready t' hear t' greatest tale o' Garrn?"


Hello everybody, Sora here with an always fun idea! Welcome to the Mythical Realm of Garrn, home to all kinds of magical and fantastical creatures, vast regions and landscapes, great ale and pipe weed, but most of all: adventure of the grandest proportions!

The main story of the RP will focus on the group of heroes who venture across the world trying to hopefully seal away a great evil who has returned to threaten the land once again. This is based off a combination of things, such as DnD, WoW, Tolkien's LotR/Hobbit, Forsaken World, and multiple other works of Fantasy, but each element comes forth to collect into one massive bundle of absolute joy and awesomeness. That bundle is Garrn.

Anyways, onto the details of this RP!

Tell me yer tale, an' I'll listen (Background):
Agnemon Gehrhart never knew who his parents were the Order of the Iron Dawn just recruits early. When he had been born two members of the order inspected him and deemed him worthy of the Order. When he had been weaned the men returned and took the child leaving a token payment in their wake. Since that day Agnemon as they named him was raised as a child of war taught, drilled, trained and tested. He only ever knew life in the keep for years until during his final test before becoming a fully fledged member of the Order when he was told to go out and slay a terrible evil and return with proof of his deeds. He journeyed for days until he reached a small town that had been ransacked by a large bandit group all he could find in the wreckage was an orcish child no more than six hiding in a ruined stable. He asked the child where the men who had done this went and recieved rudimentary instruction. On that day Agnemon began his true quest to find and eradicate the men responsible for the attack.
Gehrhart learned that the men were holed up in an old fort long abandoned and so he went to glory or death. several locals followed him to see if the foolish knight would live. Standing outside the gates of the theives den and demanded them to face him at first he was mocked but when one of their number attempted to make sport of the knight he was quickly cut down. Then the fight began, the bandits charged the knight who stood his ground and killed them to a man. When it was just the bandit leader and Agnemon left, the killer begged mercy but none was given. Agnemon returned with the head of the bandit leader and was welcomed back as a member of The Order. He earned the moniker Agnemon the Mountain for his refusal to be moved when in danger

But that was many years ago Agnemon has grown old and his time out in the feild has ended. he now passes the time training the young recruits. But deep in his heart still burns a passion for adventure and justice that can still be seen as a sparkle in his eyes. Despite his advanced age Agnemon is till incredibly fit and strong a result of his constant training and can still out duel any one of the young ones, a fact he is quite proud of. He yearns to see the world one last time before he is to old to leave the keep and would jump at the chance to leave on any kind of adventure.

Is there more to yer tale? (Other): In all honesty Agnemon can't stand the idea of dying of old age and dreams of being able to die doing something important which is to him an honorable death

Alright, I was wondering what was taking people so long, but ten I remembered that we all have lives we unfortunatly need to live XD

Kidding of course.

Anyways, I'm thinking that we should all start out in the same village or town so that its easier to formulate the plot around the characters meeting by sheer chance. The only creatures I would say shouldn't meet with the group immediately would be Fungon's. It would be better to meet such a being when the group is just starting out the quest, but I wouldn't object to having them encounter him/her in the town. It just would make the whole "Fungon's haven't been seen in ages and probably don't exist" thing a bit more interesting to play with.

Speaking of, is anybody playing a Fungon? Or shall I make a hero NPC to assist us in that field?

So what's everybody thinking about for this RP? Excited for certain things, or does anybody have ideas for towns or areas we could explore? I'm working on a Map System with around 8 Regions so we can get a general idea of where the characters are in the scheme of things.

I'm a little unsure of where to place my character, and how much she knows about the outside world.

It would be easier if she had some knowledge...

But it would be a whole lot more fun if she was a little out of the loop.

I think having her out of the loop would be much more interesting and fun to try. We'll probably get at least somebody (even if they're an important Player Controller NPC) who knows an awful lot about the Realm of Garrn, so they could teach your character as she goes long, and same with the others. Its always fun having somebody who doesn't fully get the way things work. You can have a lot of fun with other stuff XD

Ahh. Lucky you. *thinks hard* I find myself wondering stupid details. Like... what the language sounds like. Is it harsh, guttural? Or perhaps is it flowing and elegant?

Also... I'm thinking goblins use three kinds of ritual scars. One for tribe, one for family, one for achievements. The major group, the minor group, and the individual. Babies get the first one a little after they're born, within the first year. Then at.. let's say 5 years, they get the family scar. The achievement scar, though, you've got to do something awesome. Like... save others from a cave-in, find a huge deposit of some awesome mineral... or bring back something amazing from your journeys outside.

My girl will be searching for that last one.

Where do you think the scars would be located? Face sounds painful, like... something you'd do to a criminal. Maybe arms or torso?

Or maybe across their torso. Considering goblins would mostly show off their bodies (save parts they want covered), then maybe they could be on her stomach like an actual tatoo or something.

Hands are also sensitive, plus they're more for work than anything... Maybe if she'd done something bad, I could see a hand scar.
