In every city, on every continent from Serido to Mille Seseau, there was posted a reward. There was a giant creature terrorizing the town of Seles. They were asking for strong warriors to slay it.
"Five thousand? Who printed this?!" An angry voice reverberated through the Castle of Basil. The King of Serido was pacing his study. He crumpled the page and threw it across the room.
"ARMOND!"

A small sigh escaped Marmalade as she stared down at the wanted poster. She had just moved to this small town only to have it plagued by a monster. Her eyes flicked to the reward
5,000 gold coins.
How could that be afforded? Marmalade shook her head, it didn't matter. The money could help her settle here. Start a new life. With little effort, she lifted her scythe to her shoulder and headed to the forest.
No sooner had she entered the forest, did she realize she was lost.
"Damn trees. Everything looks the same!" Marmalade said exasperated, kicking a rock off a short cliff. There was no monster, no exit, no hint of another person. What a dumb idea, coming out here alone! Marmalade walked over to a stump and sat down, rested her scythe next to her, then buried her head in her hands.

A distinguished nobleman heard his name shouted and quickly made his way through the halls, his loyal servant, Astharoth trailing behind him. Glancing back at the male, he spoke, his tone quick and sharp. "Hurry up Astharoth, we mustn't make the king wait any longer than he has to!" he hissed, turning his head forward again. As the nobleman hurried along, several guards stopped him, "Agh! What now? The king has need of me, why do you block my path?" he asked. One of the guards handed the man a poster, "I believe you need to explain this to the king, Lord Armond, I believe this is why he is upset." the guard told him. Taking the poster, he read it and sighed, "I understand, thank you, I'll explain everything to him now. Excuse me." he said, motioning for his servant to follow him. He remained silent until the pair got to the door, in which the male turned and shoved the paper into the hands of Astharoth, "You idiot! I said five-hundred, not five-thousand gold! I may be a noble, but just how much of my family's wealth do you think I actually possess?" he shouted at him. He sighed and shook his head, "I guess it doesn't matter, as long as Serdio is rid of that creature, the price doesn't matter. I'll forgive you this time, but try not to mess up again in the future." he told him before opening the doors. Armond made his way to the king, "Your Majesty. I wish to apologize for the amount of gold on the poster, it seems there was an...accident when it was made. However, I am more than willing to pay the amount out of what gold I was able to bring from my family's estate in Deningrad." he said, bowing lowly.

Tyron found himself lost once again. He wasn't much disturbed by this, since lost was just how he lived, but it might make getting food a little difficult. He pulled out his journal and jotted some notes in it about the sort of trees that were here. He might be able to figure out what sort of wildlife was in that patch of woods based on the foliage, he just needed to jot it down and make some comparisons when he made camp for the night.

Of course, he had no idea when that would be. As Tyron made his way through the underbrush, the sound of his own footsteps on broken twigs and dried leaves echoed through the area. His explorations eventually led him to a large cliff.

"Hm... Is this normal?" He asked himself, looking around. He couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, so he decided to start to follow the edge. After some time, he heard what he thought was the voice of another person. Odd. He thought to himself, deciding to continue and find the source. As he got closer, he raised his arms into the air, presenting a sign of surrender, just in case the person may have been aggressive. "Hello," he called out. "Is there anybody here?"

"You are getting better Breeze." Kyden called back to her. And in truth, she really was. Now in their sparring matches, she found herself holding back. She didn't want to beat Kyden, she knew how fragile his ego already was. She would never let him know. Kyden was the only semblance of family she had known in a long time. Her feelings for him are only getting stronger the more they sparred. After months of training, and Caelyn realized she was in love with Kyden. "Thank ya for everythin' Kyden. You have been a great friend." she smiled as she placed a hand on his. She quickly recoiled it and blushed. "Crap! I hope he didn't see that." she thought to herself. "You are welcome. Are you alright? You seem off?" Caelyn responded with a disarming smile. "I am fine, I am just a'boot to go run these fish down to the lady under the docks. Its been 3 days since she has had anythin' to eat and I've gotta check in. Do you want to come with me?" With an "of course" kind of nod, they made off.
"Wait, something is not right." Caelyn said with concern. "What is it?" Kyden asked. "The water is making a torrent, see it? That can mean only one thing. SERPENT!!!!" Caelyn shouted. "RUN!" As if hearing its que, the massively scaled-beast appeared from the water, and lunged out and them. Kyden seeing the beast going for Caelyn jumped in front and drew his daggers. "What are you doing?!" Caelyn shouted back to him. "Getting you out alive, now go!"
Caelyn knew there was no arguing with him on this one, so that's what she did. She ran threw the crashes, she ran through the scream, she ran through the crunch. Tears falling from her face as she ran. She continued to do so until she passed out. She was awoken by the sound of flapping paper. He had saved her, but she didn't feel his life was worth hers. She didn't think that it was fair that everyone she has ever loved getting killed just to protect her. "WHY AM I SO IMPORTANT!?" she shouted at the top of her lungs. "AND WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT NOISE?!" She looked over to see a reward poster for 5000g. "A beast terrorizing Seles?" she wiped the tears from her face. She knew she wasn't strong enough to even kill the giant serpent that had just attacked her and Kyden, "but I will be strong enough by the time I reach Seles." she vowed.
So, that's what she did on her arduous journey to Seles, she trained, and practiced honing every one of her senses. She finally came upon the town. She had no possessions, having left everything behind in Rogue. The only item she had brought with her was that flyer. It symbolized vengeance, vindication, and it gave her direction. It was something she could use to bury the pain inside her with. She used that pain as a tool, as a source of focus and drive. Well, the flyer gave her direction to Seles, but not as far as what she was going to do now that she was here. Caelyn did the only thing she knew to do, go into the woods and set up camp.
When morning came she had started her search for the monster not having a whole lot to go on. She came along a cliff and followed it, and that's when she heard "Hello. Is there anybody here?" She quickly combed over her options and after being alone for quite some time. "Aye, I am. Might you be just a little more quiet though? You do't want to be scarin' the beast straight to us." she flashed him a disarming smile.

Veragwen sighed as she worked at the clinic in Seles bandaging up her fellow villagers. There were so many injured these days from the monster that between trying to fight it off and aiding them that she didn't get much time to rest. She had earned a few wounds herself, but they weren't serious. She was used to battle and knew how to twist her body so a blow wasn't too serious.

"Here, chew on this. It will help with the pain." she said, smiling at him, and handing a few small herbs to a man with broken ribs. He'd taken a hard blow from the beast's tail. She was amazed he still lived, but she wasn't sure how long he would last. His breath was quite raspy so it was possible a bone might've pierced a lung, in which case all she could do was ease the pain. She didn't know much about surgery. She was more used to small wounds and sickness.

She straightened and walked over to another injured villager and began cleaning their wounds and dressing them up with bandages. She prayed that flyer yielded some good fighters. Veragwen intended to join them.

Raena had spent the last few months doing what Raena did best. Moving. Not sitting still. So it shouldn't really come as a surprise that she was found a good distance away from her hometown of Lohan, all the way in... wouldn't you guess it? The woods of Seles. In fact, she had been taking a nap up in the branches of some trees before someone unceremoniously came crashing through the underbrush, cursing the very things that currently made her bed. Shifting quietly, she looped her legs around the lowest branch in the tree before letting herself fall backwards, dangling upside down behind the girl. Her pale blue hair almost touched the ground as she hung there. "What did the trees ever do to you? I'm sure according to them, we all look the same too. It's not their fault you can't tell them apart." Topaz eyes stared at the back of the woman's head as if this information was obvious.

Astharoth was running right behind his Master when he started to run to where the King was he could tell the King was angry but wasn't sure what he was so angry about. "Yes sir i'll hurry up! Your right sir we shouldn't make him wait any longer than he already has." Astharoth was getting chewed out for moving so slowly as a couple of guards came up to Armond and stopped him, Astharoth stopped right behind him all of a sudden nearly bumping into him, the guards handed him the paper then he started to chew Astharoth out for messing up the poster and putting 5,000 on it instead of the intended 500 gold. "I'm sorry sir i misheard you when you said how much to put on it, my hearing was affecting me that day due to a head cold that i caught. I know its no excuse but i am sorry sir." Armond told him that he would forgive him but only just this once and that he better not mess up again in the future. "Yes sir! Thank you! I'm sorry that i caused trouble for you! I'll make sure not to mess up again in the future!" Astharoth and Armond continued to the Kings study as Armond went into the study to speak with the King, Astharoth dare not go into the room for he was but an underling to Armond who answered to the King, he would be a fool to enter without a second thought for it could mean severe punishment later once they had left the presence of the king, Astharoth stood outside the door as the King and Armond conversed.

"Hm?" Tyron looked to the side, hearing someone speak to him. He did not lower his arms, as not to seem threatening, though he did return the smile. "Ah, well met, then," he spoke. "But I'm afraid I don't think you're who I heard just now, in fact..." He heard another muffled voice from the same direction as before. "It seems that another person has joined whoever it was I heard." He explained calmly. "If it not too much trouble, I'd beg your leave for a moment, or that you follow me, so that I may find out who else is around here." He started continuing down the direction he'd been walking before he stopped once more, a part of what the woman had said finally processing. "A beast?" he asked, a bit puzzled. "Is there something about these woods I've not heard?" It was a bit of a silly question, and he couldn't help but laugh. "Well, I guess that's no surprise. I've not even any idea where these woods are!" He spoke, smiling a little bit. "Erm, anyway... I'm going to go over there," he said with one more chuckle, pointing forward, before starting down the path, not concerned whether he was followed or not.

What he saw when he finally arrived were two women, both of whom looked somewhat agitated, though it appeared not to exactly be over the same thing. "I do beg your pardons, but I heard some voices from this direction." He spoke, both arms still up in the air and doubtless starting to feel a little heavy.

Nayash was walking along the cross country roads.Leaving Deningrad behind her, she headed towards the town of Seles in Serido. There had been posters all over the lands, not only in the country of Seridos, but also in the neighboring countries and she was sure many others would be heading towards a bounty with such high of a reward from afar. However Nayash wasn't interested in the reward itself, although it wouldn't hurt with the abundant amount of money the reward would provide her. It was the dark hooded man who most likely also had been attracted by the sum that Nayash was after. And she had been after him for months.

With her goal closing in on her, Nayash did not hesitate to enter the town. Well inside the town walls she was met with many odd looks, most likely because of her wears. She didn't wear the usual Armour. Instead she wore light clothes adept to the sandy lands of the Death Frontier, her home town. The clothing, together with the oversized double-sided war hammer, made her sand out quite a bit, but she didnt mind. If she needed to turn more discreet she easily could. In her pack she had more wears with her, accustomed to colder weather. She had acquired them along her journeys after Illurath.
But as usual Nayash only responded with a smile and a silent nod, not caring more about the ogling and proceeded towards her goal, the town hall, to see if there was or had been any gatherings before the quest to slay the beast, and to pass along the news and open peoples eyes to look for Illurath. With any luck she could get this town on her side to find the dangerous and barbaric man.

Many of the townsfolk couldn't help but notice the newcomer, most stopping to stare at the foreign warrior, whether it be in admiration for wielding such an unusual weapon, or simply because of her beauty. Regardless of what their reasons were, the stranger didn't go unnoticed, and it appeared she had no intention of taking that attention off of her. Eventually Seles' Elder approached the woman, a pair of heavily armed guards with him, "Welcome stranger, to our little village of Seles. Judging from your clothes, you must be from all the way out in Death Frontier. You must have journeyed far for many days to get here, no doubt you've come to slay the creature which plagues our land? Of course you have, why else would you be here? Come, let me introduce you to Veragwen, our finest warrior. Perhaps you both could come up with some ideas on how to fight the beast? This way." he said, not giving Nayash the chance to reply or protest. As the man walked, they eventually started to pass bandaged men and women, several of them delirious and mumbling. A few others were shouting something about poison, and one more was freaking out about seeing several comrades 'cut in half' before his eyes. It was clear the attacks on Seles were getting more and more dangerous by the day. The man stepped into a large medical tent, "Veragwen, we have a warrior from the Death Frontier, she's here to help slay the beast. I hope you'll give her as much information as you can." the elder said before leaving.

***

Armond had remained in council with the king for a few hours, discussing the reports of both the creature's attacks on Seles, and of the possibility that Blitz could be behind the recent local monster rampages through the forest. The most recent report was brought in minutes before the meeting was to end, apparently the usually docile serpents of the forest have started to rampage as well, their overlord made an appearance not far from Seles. "King Zeke, this situation is growing dire with each passing day. My contacts in Seles have informed me of several warriors and hunters that have gone into the forest in search of the rampaging creature. I understand that several have already been found dead, either by the beast's poison, or from being cut clean in half. You and I both know Seles can't stand another rampaging attack from the beast, that's why I'm strongly suggesting you send some soldiers out there." he said, pointing to Seles on the map lying on the table in front of them. Zeke shook his head, "No, Armond, I am certain the beast will fall before it attacks again." he replied. Armond frowned, "What makes you so sure?" he queried. "Because I've received reports from our allies that a warrior from Death Frontier has been spotted heading in this direction. You know how strong those warriors are, the beast will be slain soon enough. Perhaps you should send your servant, Astharoth to retrieve the beast's slayer?" he suggested. Armond nodded, "A good plan, Your Highness. If I may be excused." he said, bowing before he left. Once outside the door, he turned to his servant, "I have a job for you, you are to go to Seles and bring back the one who slays the beast rampaging in the forest there. However, I want you to do so under my name. Pretend you are Armond Zeraltus and bring the person back here for their reward. A simple task, yes? Oh, and you'll need to wear something more...noble-like. Change before you leave. That's all until you return Astharoth." he instructed the male, giving him a smile.

Veragwen had just finished with a patient when the elder and the stranger walked in. She stood and turned, offering the woman a pretty smile. "Welcome to Seles, traveler. My name is Veragwen, but I suppose the elder already told you that. What is your name? And you're from the Death Frontier you said, Elder? That's quite a hike.... Nonetheless, I'm glad that flyer is bearing fruit. This village can't take much more of this. Your help is appreciated."

Vera rested her hand on the pommel of her sword, "I'm afraid there isn't much I know that isn't obvious. The beast uses poison, has sharp claws, and a tail. Each one is a threat of it's own and our supplies are running out quickly to deal with each one. I sent several requests to Basil for help, but besides that flyer and a few warriors I haven't seen much help...I've recommended evacuations as well, but they don't really have anywhere to go. Even Basil is a good ways away and that's a dangerous road. And so they remain..." she sighed. "All I can do is protect them best I can, but it seems my best isn't enough..." she said, looking around at all the injured.

Astharoth waited outside of the study while King Keke and Armond conversed over many different things, he had no idea what it was they were speaking about for so long since he stayed outside the door and couldn't really hear them but he knew it must have been quite important if he was talking with the king for so long about it, he just waited and waited and waited until they finally finished speaking and Armond came out giving him his orders to use his name and get dressed in something more noble-like to go and fetch the one who slays the dragon plaguing Seles and then he nodded. "Yes sir i shall do as you say and head for Seles.. I shall also use your name to bring them back here to receive their reward.." Astharoth walked off swiftly to go change into something more that a noble would wear than that of what a warrior would, once he was dressed properly he went out into the kingdom to search through some shops for supplies he would need on his journey to Seles, once he was finished shopping he packed his things and headed for Seles, it was a small quaint little village with many injured and some dead.

At the sound of a voice behind her, Marmalade let a small scream escape her lips as she jumped up. Her hand immediately went to her scythe and once she realized it was just some strange girl hanging from a tree, it took all of Marmalade's effort to not swing her weapon. She placed her hand over her heart and sighed with relief as she lowered her scythe. But the girl had been saying something...
"What were you going on about?"
Before the strange girl could answer, someone else showed up. Where were all these people coming from?! She could see he was unarmed and not a threat. Just two more people out to kill the monster and steal her chances at a more normal life. Never the less, neither of them looked very dangerous. Maybe they didn't know what was going on.
"What are you two doing here?" Marmalade asked as casually as she could.

It didn’t take long until Nayash was approached by a well-dressed man and his two guards. She quickly assumed that the man was an elder, or at least a nobel, and stopped to make a discrete bow at his direction. Once the group caught up to her, the man started speaking. He welcomed Nayash and quickly deducted that her origins were the Death Frontier, to which she nodded at to confirm, as the man continued speaking without a break. So she did what she was indirectly asked to do, and followed the man without protest to meet this person called Veragwen.

As they walked Nayash couldn’t help but to notice that the amount of injured people seemed to increase as they walked, and she concluded that Veragwen either was a general of some sort, or a healer. Either way she wasn’t supriced over the injured townsfolk, both men and women. With an reward as high as the one stated on the poster, the pest would have to be a difficult one. And unfortunally with high rewards comes high sacrifices, as younger and inexperienced people sought the fortune of a lifetime. And then they reached the medical tent where Veragwen was buissy plastering together one of the injured men.

"Veragwen, we have a warrior from the Death Frontier, she's here to help slay the beast. I hope you'll give her as much information as you can." The nobleman/elder said before quickly disappearing before Nayash even had a chance to introduce herself properly, or even ask who he was.

“Welcome to Seles, traveler. “ The woman before her said followed by an introduction of herself. One which Nayash thought was unnecessary as the man had already introduced her. Apparently Veragwen noticed that, and assumed that the Elder had said so.

“Yes indeed he did. Name’s Nayash, and yes, My origins are in Death Frontier, however I travel from Deningrad in search of someone, someone whom I believe might be taking part in this monster hunt.” She knew that she might have disappointed Veragwen with her news, that she was not there for the beast herself, but rather there for a person. A short pause in the conversation took place, and then Veragwen continued.

Nayash wasn’t sure if she had heard her words, and assumed that her concentration was elsewhere, but let her finish the description of the beast, something which might actually become handy if she were to head out into it’s territory to find Illurath. She could tell that there was much sorrow in the womans voice, and it made her cringe a bit. Perhaps she could try to offer her help anyway. However Nayash had to make sure that she was there first hand for Illurath.

“I am terribly sorry to say, that I am not here for the reward for the beasts head. I am looking for someone. A dark-hooded man with a unique weapon. To my knowledge, he is the type of man who would seek out a reward and quest like this one… Have you seen someone like him?” She paused. The many injured around her and the womans sad sighs ached in her mind. Even if it wasn’t like her to help other towns than her own, especially when it might hinder her from her own goals, she couldn’t just stand by. Nayash sighed and looked around the tent and the injured, shook her head and then took a deep breath and added “However I might be able to assist you, for as long as I stay here. Perhaps in return you could show me somewhere to rest for the nights?”

That was all that Nayash could offer. Her weapon for a place to stay, till she finds Illurath or any hints that Illurath has left Seles.

Veragwen frowned, "Ah, I see....I'm sorry Nayash, I guess we all just assumed you were here to help with the beast since we don't get many visitors, but I certainly won't force you. Life is a precious thing, right? And I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone like that but I'll let you know if I do..."

She nodded, relieved to hear that she might help somehow, "You can stay at my place. I have a guest room that's rarely used but I keep it clean. It's a rather comfy place and I would love the company. Would that be alright with you?" she asked.

"No worries" Nayash answered and nodded. "Life is a precious thing indeed. Its a shame that greed makes the people throw it away." She was ofcourse reffering to the less experienced hunters who had joined the battle versus the beast. "Okay, that sounds alright. I appreciate you keeping an eye open for him. One more thing, if you hear talk about an Illurath, would you notify me?" Nayash waited patiently and glanced once more at her surroundings, wondering where she could start then offered:"Oh, and if you need any help here in town, now, I could offer my hand with that while I try to gather some more information on my own.".

She was thinking about dumping her gear somewhere, perhaps at Veragwens home, to then look around the town for any information she could find about Illurath or a dark hooded traveler. Perhaps some more information about the beasts whereabouts and then gather some supplies of her own. Food, water and a bottle of mead perhaps. She had, after all traveled far, and her body needed some rest before she were to head off into battle.

"It seems that another person has joined whoever it was I heard." He explained calmly. "If it not too much trouble, I'd beg your leave for a moment, or that you follow me, so that I may find out who else is around here."

"You mean to be tellin' me you haven' seen the flyers up all o'er? Sir, it is no' safe to be around in these woods alone I should think. Also, you can put your arms down, I have no intention to be hurtin' you. You are outside of Seles, sir. My name is Caelyn, but my friends call me.... well just Caelyn will be fine." Caelyn turned her head quickly to bite back a tear. "I sure could use some company, been many a month out by meself." Caelyn wasn't sure if she had made her offer seem genuine or not. She hadn't had a conversation in many months.
"What are you two doing here?"

"I'm to be huntin' a monster. I got a bone to pick with it. I might ask you the same question my lady. Caelyn was never good at interaction with other females, most of the ones she knew made their coin cooking for their husbands and raising brats. However judging by the scythe this one was wielding, she may be able to make an ally or even more a friend from her. A friend, she knew what happened to hers when she made them.... an ally then. "Keep them a distance away you fool." she muttered under her breath. She hadn't realized she spoke it aloud.
"Judgin' by that nice weapon you have there, I say we might be doin' the same thing." Caelyn flashed a fierce grin. "And if that be the case, I may split the reward with you 60/40." Caelyn let out a giggle. It was the first time she laughed in so long, that it felt unnatural.

When he finally felt he wasn't going to appear threatening, Tyron lowered his arms down to his side, his left arm passing the hilt of the blade that was strapped to his back. "Actually, I'm just... Here," he said with a laugh. "Though I don't know where here is." He grinned as he crossed his arms. "So I guess now's a good a time as any... Caelyn, um... Other people..." He blinked. "Ah, right, my name's Tyron! Anyway, what's all this about a monster?" He looked around. "I honestly had no idea there was something like that around here." He admitted with a stark honesty in his voice. "If it's something dangerous, I don't mind helping out a little, if you would be willing to feed me some after the fact," he spoke with a laugh. "I mean, if it isn't too much of an issue," he laughed once more before taking his sword and sheath from his back so he could sit down. He set the 7 foot long weapon across his lap and smiled again.

Marmalade looked over surprised. She hadn't even noticed there was another person here. Seriously, where were they coming from?! One at least was after the reward.
"60/40? I don't think so." Marmalade replied. She was not getting low balled by some stranger. Then again.. Marmalade looked at everyone gathered here. They were all strangers. However, even half the money would help her get started, and who is to say she can actually kill the beast herself?
She was about to speak when the boy started to before her. To her not-so-surprise, he had no idea where he was.
"Really? You don't know you are right next to a town? Seles?" She more stated than asked and rolled her eyes. She watched the boy, Tyron, pull out the biggest sword she had ever seen. It was bigger than he was! Marmalade smirked, not so docile, are we?
"My name is Mara." She lied. She hated telling people her real name. There was no way she was going to tell these warriors she was named after jelly. Just thinking about it made her mad. Her tail twitched slightly in her annoyance.

"Woah woah woah woah woah... waaait a minute..." Raena dropped down from the branch -- nearly falling on Mara --, shaking debris loose from the ends of her hair as she righted herself. "You mean to tell me there's a monster out here?" She flailed uselessly, only managing to nearly hit Mara with her hands. "An' you all are just wandering about uselessly," --more flailing-- "and half of you don't even seem to know where you are going or where you even are..?!" She stared at them all incredulously. "huh... I wonder how I missed flyers about a monster AND a town.. I must be farther from Lohan than I thought.." With this she began to mutter to herself (see: talk to herself as Raena doesn't really have a "quiet" tone..) about how she /SWORE/ she was only a few days travel away from Lohan despite having been out of the city for quite a few months. Where did she take a wrong turn? Maybe the mountain she camped in was the wrong one? There was a monster out here? Neat! Would it want to make friends? HOLY COW THAT'S A BIG SWORD! ... Mara's hair looks tasty.... Can't quite place why....
