I fully understand what plasma is. Pheonix and whatever he wears unaffected by it naturally due to his powers(plus burning all his clothes off every time he uses it wouldn't be very nice) and I assume he can focus it enough to not hurt what he doesn't want hurt. This is a RP about superpowered people, not hard science, so I bend the rules and let the Rule of Cool take over when it makes sense.

I know, still. When you wave off the water guy like he's nothing, there's something wrong there xD

There's something wrong when the water guy negates and fixes all the damage caused by two other Supers, both of which exhausted themselves causing the damage, like it was nothing, without any real exertion on his part. Pretty much everything except the exploding cars because he's not "a GOD".

Quick fixes, he doesn't repair the damage, he keeps people from dying ._.
It's natural that the water guy puts out a fire without thinking. That's what water does to fire. And he doesn't douse all the fires on the street, he causes water hydrants to explode with his powers. If he did it with his powers alone, of course he'd be taking some time and energy.

I mean, if it was Pulse doing all the damage then Ocean would be able to do very little.

But water is a natural counter to fire, it shouldn't be surprising Ocean uses that to his advantage.

Also.
"This is a RP about superpowered people, not hard science, so I bend the rules and let the Rule of Cool take over when it makes sense."
You realize both Marvel and DC comics revolve their storyline heavily around science and shit?

I had a lot more to say, but instead, consider this, Collins is putting everything she has into just trying to slow down the vault door and pillar. She can't stop both, or even just one, and she's forced to choose to try to hold them as long as possible to try to save people even when she knows Pheonix is about to knock the shit out of her. Ocean just negates the pillar with "a flick of the hand," like it was nothing.

I'm not asking or telling you to edit your post, we'll probably just leave it as is. I'm asking you to give more thought to your character and his limits, what he can and can not do, what tires him. Moving water requires energy if you want to be very hardcore about it. Energy goes into increasing the water pressure enough in fire hydrants to get them to explode, and so on.

You missed something in the post before about Ocean's limits, I'd go back and read it.
When Ocean is using his powers he gets incredibly sick every fifteen-thirty minutes and has to wait for five-ten minutes to get better.

Maybe you would like to point it out, and not the whole inability to stop the exploding cars because he's not "a GOD" of water.

Wow, a little nausea.

Debilitating nausea. The kind someone gets after giving blood, the kind that can knock you out? He has fifteen minutes of kickass and about five minutes of "Oh god they're going to kill me."

And he can't put out exploding cars because water can't put out electrical and gas fires.

Five minutes of nausea is not a license to lulstomp the actions and damage that two characters combined have done for fifteen minutes. Anyway, I'm done with this, Betel will probably say something as it is. Seriously consider putting more thought into Ocean's character and limitations, real limitations, especially considering your CS says he can move "a bit of water" or "five gallons of water."

Do you realize how long five minutes of being extremely vulnerable can be? A bullet can kill someone in a split second, in that five minutes of weakness he's a sitting duck.

And as to the five gallons, You can be creative with limitations >:| But I'm going to wait on the GM, this argument is pointless

Sorry all, I would have replied much earlier, it was just a crazy long day at work.

To start, the heat: I was going to point out in the next post that Finn's trying to keep his on-fire brother at a safe distance from scorching him. We can still keep the laws of science, but we are playing a game about super humans, so there could be an infinite amount of reasons why Michael's clothes aren't burning.

As far as limitations are concerned, (which is what I think this is about) I think we need to remember that our characters are only at their full potential with the stone. The vault door was the heaviest thing Finn's ever lifted and I'm not going to have him over-exert himself after that- it also caused obvious physical problems to perform. They've also only had seven days to practice their skills; that means they might still have hiccups and moments of ill concentration that are understandable, considering they're all new to this, in some way or other. Except, maybe the Executioner ^_-

Maybe creating ice/plasma is more straining for either character than their natural state of fire/water manipulation? Flame throwers/Crowd control hoses are just as effective of weapons as well as their broader skills with their elements.

Having said that, Finn's going to have a problem with how much destruction and civilian damage his brother is causing. He's even going to struggle with his own choice to endanger the bank attendants in order to escape. We don't want Phoenix to be a serial mass murderer off the bat, because he's still not an evil character. But again, you're welcome to edit and develop your characters over time!

So I think we all need to start just discussing openly with one another. We're telling an interconnected story with endless possibilities, so we don't need to treat it like a chess game against one another. We can discuss possibilities that we want to do during any interaction (not just battles) and lead into ways the other character can counter or react. Just a suggestion.

I hope that all made sense. Let's have some fun!

In any case I think we'd good to wrap up the bank heist, Ocean went back in to Collins, apparently leaving them to get away since he was probably distracted enough by Pheonix's chaos and Collins was K.O.ed.

Will do in my next post. Anyone object to moving on to the night after wrapping the two heists up?

The second heist might take some time to resolve, desyncing with some characters going forward a bit might be fine.

I was going to let the armored car go a bit longer while the two brothers talk and the bank gets resolved before actually going on to the night. I just didn't know if anyone had anything else planned for the day

Oh feel free to move forward and advance the story to night time. I wasn't planning on doing anything significant with Black Jack. In fact, I'll sort of 'wrap up' his involvement in the armored vehicle heist in my next post ^_^

Sweet! Wisp will make her debut at night... but I'll wait for someone else to start the evening portion. Maybe a little something from our glorious Betel with his fairy Godmother...?

I'm just clutching at straws here. I'll wait for the round up, but if everyone thinks it a good idea I'll open up with Hope gearing up as the sun goes down.

EDIT: Nice use of luck! I guess I could continue... but I've only got about 6 hours of sleep before I need to be up tomorrow, and I won't overexert myself. Feel free to continue without me, I'll catch up tomorrow with Wisp's evening antics.

Great posts! I'll be replying when i get out of work and move everyone along to night where they can do whatever. Feel free to discuss plans to see which characters can pair/group up for whatever reason.

I'll write up what Eudora and Bakker were going to say and move her on to actually interact with someone. Maybe have Finn wander the city after talking with Michael.

Yah! Is it anything juicy? ^_^ Also, Black Jack may have fled the scene but he hasn't disappeared completely. He hasn't given up on finding out what was in the briefcase so he'll still be lurking about by the time night falls.
