Name:
Beatrice Elseway
Chaos Witch, Beatrice
Age:
37
Gender:
Female
Species:
Human,
Magic User
Personality:
Beatrice is a fickle and unpredictable woman who truly earns the unique title of Chaos Witch, having trumped countless daunting foes with little more than her genius and a little bit of magic. She's a prodigal magic user who has long since cast off her pride, devoting her entire existence to the pursuit of magic and its mysteries. She favours ordinary humans more than most supernaturals do, often gracing their lives with awesome gifts of magic, often at a terrible price further down the line. She is known for her cruel, and yet strangely compassionate nature, she exists constantly in a state of fluctuating humanity and sanity.
History:
Rumours say that the legendary Witch, Beatrice, has been spotted in Blackbury recently. She hasn't done anything worth noting while here, and has actually been deep in hiding for the last few months, silently watching as the supernaturals went about their daily business, completely obscured from the eyes of both the human world and the world of the night. She has gained a hefty reputation since her arrival in the UK, even being rumoured to be the most powerful magic user currently alive, but little is known about her past the identity she's been given by the public.

She was born and raised in a small village nestled deep in the mountains, completely isolated from the outside world. Ever since she was born, she's had the gift of magic, her parents didn't have it, and the power had never been seen in the village before her. Naturally, she would have been outcast if the others int he village found out, so her parents carefully hid her and sternly ordered her to never explore her gifts. Her naturally curious mind wouldn't allow it, and she was found out by the other villagers in no time. Normally, this would be the point where the budding witch would be burned at the stake, stoned to death or simply thrown into the wild to die, but Beatrice was different from most witches.

By the time she had finished experimenting with the last of the village's inhabitants, she was already in her late teens, and she still hadn't even seen a single glimpse of the outside world. Determining that there was no more to be learned in the small village of her birth, she bid farewell to the empty houses that had been her prison, and went off in search of a new world. Her trek was perilous, but she would soon discover that the world was a much larger and more wondrous place than she had imagined. She soon found herself in a city, one with so many technological wonders that she could hardly contain her excitement. An unlimited amount of learning was lying before her, and all she needed to do was grasp it. She later estimated that the village she had grown up in was approximately a hundred years behind the rest of the world in terms of knowledge, and she soon found all sorts of wonderful things to challenge her brilliant mind with. But of course, in the end, she would always come back to the one true art, the place where it all began. Magic, she learned, was even more amazing than she had thought, and she had still not even scratched the surface.

In the days after that, her experiments with magic went further than any other witch of her age, and she soon became what you could call an expert in the field. The extensive journeys into magic had changed Beatrice from the curious, innocent girl she had been before, she was noticing a change in her personality and emotions that she could not have possibly predicted. In time, this girl grew to become the person who is known today as the Chaos Witch, bringing forth a tremendous firestorm that engulfed an entire city in its insatiable flame. She moved on, following the trail of something that wasn't human, and eventually finding a village filled with a whole new, completely unexpected kind of knowledge. She wasn't alone.

FINALLY got the images for my character and read over Blackwolfs

my only complaint is that he's a lot like my character. Biography/skill wise. I don't see a huge problem with it though

oh, and packs don't exist in Blackbury, it's an archaic thing that most consider beneath them.

Alright, I read through and I am extremely interested. (I'm a huge fan of vampire shows, and supernatural shows.) Got some questions about vampires though, Human blood (fresh I am assuming?) Will quicken their healing process, but does Werewolf blood have any affect on them? In some shows (Being Human UK) Werewolf blood is poison to a vampire (Like drinking acid) And in the US version of Being Human it makes them sick.

Another question, How old can the vampires be? Unless age does not effect the strength and speed of them (which shows have started using the age of a vampire to determine who is the 'Alpha') Because I was hoping to create a pretty old vampire (not talking about the age they were turned, but how long it has been since they were turned.) I was thinking that if this were the case, we should keep it below or around a certain age so nobody can hold down the 'alpha' vampire position without having to work for it.

As for all of the races, each race should have their own differences toward eachother, say a Werewolf in wolf form could be stronger than any vampire, A wizard could be the only one who could prevent a Werewolf from turning, and have less effect on vampires. (Like a rock, paper, scissors kind of deal)

Anywho, I'll stop rambling, they are only suggestions.

My CS is coming soon! (if there is still room that is)

Well, vampires don't need blood to quicken their healing rate, it's the same no matter what. Werewolf blood is equal to human blood in every way, they absolutely do not age. And are stupid hard to kill (one NPC is pushing 5000) but there is no alpha position, most races are very modernized.

A werewolf in wolf form is stronger than a vampire, a wizard can do damn near anything but it takes magical energy, but there is no rock paper scissors system for the three base races, they are just what I came up with to start. I'm always going to at least consider any CS put in my thread.

Hope that answers all the questions.

Wait, Werewolves don't age in this? But in the OP it says they only have an average lifespan?

Name:
Ketsu 'Graves' Shinkoku
Age:
Born in the Edo Period around 1603 Japan.
Turned in his late 20's.
Appearance:

Gender:
Male

Species:
Vampire

Personality:
Graves follows his own rules when it comes to responsibilities, cast out of Japan at a young age for a vampire, he worked his way around the world, searching for answers. When he found the answers he seeked, he discarded them as if they were nothing. The answers did not serve him justice, nor did they resolve any unfinished business. Blood was a delicacy he believes it's only purpose was to maintain life and try to keep from abusing off it.

Becoming a citizen in America, he found himself drafted into wars, keeping his identity a secret, he thrashed through countless human lives. Drinking only what he needed to survive, returning a war hero - to the unsuspecting country that trusted him. The blood of his comrades, and the opposing forces still fresh on his hands, the taste still left on his lips.

It's one thing to dream of monsters, and fear the shadows in the corners, but to become one and live like one. He hated it, pushed it into the deepest darkest corners of his mind, but in the darkest of nights - he enjoyed it.

as a human, you fear the unknown, you fear death around every corner. But it does not stop you from doing the most amazing things - Being a vampire, living with immortality, every fear a human feels about everything, is multiplied when it comes to the rise of the sun. Learning to travel and survive while hiding the beast takes a lot out of people.

Um, is it just me, or does Cantide's character's history seem a bit off?
Graves doesn't seem like a Japanese name at all either.

What is off about it? And yeah, the last name is a bit more western than I had anticipated.

So, to get this straight-
He was born in Japan, every human in the country mysteriously discovered his identity and cast him out of his home country as a collective force, leaving literally no way for him to remain in the country where he had been born and raised. He travelled around for a while before moving to America (known for its casual relationship with Japan in history, especially during WWII) and joined the MILITARY, who of course would trust a Japanese guy with no history. Then, naturally, he decided to travel to the UK for some insubstantial reason.

Is that about right?

Well, hold on, Tatsua, I think you're reading it too literally. He was probably forced to leave Japan to escape some specific threat (human slayers, most likely), and then over time forged documents and created a false past in America, allowing him to be drafted.

Also, Japanese/American relations didn't go sour until WW2, and it seems he was there quite a while before then. It's likely his first war was WWI.

EDIT: In addition, there were a substantial number of Japanese American troops fighting the Germans... In WW2. It isn't far-fetched at all.

My questions are why did he come to Blackbury (smack dab in the middle of England) and why are the last two paragraphs of his bio some sort of poem/proverb/philosophical something or other

-shrug- Well, why does anyone? It's known as a haven, so it makes sense that people would want to move there. As for the pseudo-philosophy there at the end, I believe that is Graves' own viewpoint on life.

I mean, it's not the best character, but there's nothing particularly bad about it, either.

EDIT: Hrm. I think I'm in a rather argumentative mood tonight. Feel free to ignore me.

I don't mind being proven to be an idiot, so long as it's done well. I'm honestly not as against his character as I might appear, I just have to question his choice in words. Particularly, being "Cast out" of Japan...

If fully divine or infernal beings are off limits, are their part-human offspring fair game? Perhaps a demigod or a demon-blood? Also, is playing a hunter permissible?

Oh yes, and I agree. Being "forced to flee" would probably be better. Really, my justifications are just assumptions. I thought I should probably defend the guy, so I read between the lines a bit... Yeah, I could be wrong. It might just be kind of poorly written.

EDIT: I don't know about Nephilim or demon's blood characters, but hunters are definitely allowed, yes. Just not the kind that kill supernaturals indiscriminately. It would have to be a human version of the supernatural bounty hunters, I suppose.
