Rayvon Krayvitch - Town Square

Rayvon draws her blade from the ground, eyes surveying the battlefield. So far, it seemed like the spiders were well taken care of. The ghosts, she had no idea if her current weaponry would be of any effect. Instead, she joins in where she thought she would be of most use. She charges to Wayne's side, lashing out with a strike against the dagger wielding woman. Injury to his neck, bleeding, vampire or not, it was liable to be a great weakener.. The daggers, however, were likely to be futile against her superior armour without supernatural strength. She would draw the brunt of the attack, appearing far more aggressive and threatening than the vampire if need-be then. If anything, his superior speed and strength might allow him to slip in with a lethal blow against the cur assisting to terrorize innocent townsfolk.
Maevan Lucre - West Watch Tower

Maeven licks her lips after listening to all this nonsense. The sprite was stupid to go along with this plan. It made the odds more even, possibly stacked against them. They should have taken the chance to charge the girl and stick a dagger in her back. She was just a little girl, after all... How deadly could she be in a melee scrap. She cranes herself up on Fafnir's back as she surveys the battlefield, fingers clicking along her blunderbuss. The spirit stirs in agitation at her handling and she shudders at the vehement anger she experiences radiating off of it in intensive heat. She draws her goggles down and steadies the blunderbuss on a rack, locking it in place at Fafnir's neck meant to give her stability as he moves or she fires. "Raise those wings, Faf, it's time to charge, see if we can herd these puppies," she coos. Fafnir bristles and raises his metal wings as an impromptu shielding tent about Maeven though it would slow him down. For now, it was still in his best interests to protect the snake-tongued's kin. Having her there, though, needing to shield her, he would be fairly incapable of greater agility, but better to risk taking a few dents himself than enabling himself to be trapped in an inferior form as this. With a screeching metallic roar of "Skrreeeeeeeeeee!" Fafnir charges forward as Maeven tries to gauge the distance to catch the skeletons both in a blast of her flame, and would consequently end up forcing the little girl and her big, scary protector to move. If she could just get at the correct paces from them, she could potentially damage their bows and force them into melee to defend the girl. And, given Naream's observations of that book, perhaps she might be able to catch it in the fiery fallout if the girl was too slow or unskilled.

Aslo - Raven's Inn

As others began entering the manifestation James had fabricated they would spot Aslo kneeling with his blade across his lap, lathering the blade with some kind of liquid. What they couldn't have known was that it was a very potent sleeping tonic which would hopefully make the following game of cat and mouse a very short lived one. He kept one ear opened to the strategy provided by Mikan. A sound plan, but I doubt many are willing to play the mouse. he pondered to himself. Of course he was all too willing to do so, but he didn't relish his odds of going about it on his own.

"Fellow Blades, Spymaster, I will volunteer to distract the cat. I would like to say I can handle it alone, but I am not so bold as to assume the cat is easy prey. I ask for assistance, and anyone who likes may help, I will distract it for as long as I can. Adieu." He said as he bowed, and motionedaway from the small crowd that had formed. As he moved towards the cat he could only guess as to when the beast would spring to life. He tried to mentally prepare himself for that moment. Sword drawn and pointed at the cat, he hoped that might be enough to give the feline pause, but he was ready to dodge if the situation arose. His plan was to graze the hide of the beast with his sword, and pray that the tonic was enough to put the beast to sleep without killing it.

Aëyr, selkie. Western Watch Tower.
Slippery, Stealthy, Endurance Training; running and aquatic conditions.

This was most certainly not what she had been expecting when the girl—Meryl, it would appear—stated an intention of challenging them to a game of chess. Aëyr was decidely less than happy with how this had suddenly turned out. While by no means a skilled tactician, she was even less suited to full frontal combat, and there was nowhere to hide and little room to run.

Just as she was hoping to take advantage of a certain loophole imposed by the creator of the game, her companions leapt into the offensive, leaving Aëyr little choice but to follow suit. She would enjoy nothing less than to simply run forward and sweep the little girl into her arms, effectively terminating the engagement. And yet, with the unseen protector lurking somewhere in her presence, and her own less than ideal protection at the moment, she felt it unwise. If she was lucky, her companions would reveal the man's location, so that she could more easily evade him and catch the girl.

For now, however, she would do well to fight.

Unslinging her sling once more and nestling a round stone into its fabric, she lightly skipped to her left while keeping her eyes fixed on the enemy line, hoping to stay an unpredictable target for the skeletal archers' arrows. Only a couple steps laters, she flattened her feet and skidded her feet to a halt, giving one last swing to her weapon and launching a stone towards the left-most succubus.

Esyllt wouldn't get an answer from the Drow, as the ravens transformed into demons and the games began. Esyllt could not see this imminent battle as a game, but she wondered what the chessboard and so-called rules meant. Not that there was time for such, as her allies mounted the attack right away. Except for Draza... Who was intent on passing out sweets. Esyllt hurried to the fairy's side and put her shield in front of the strange creature. Even if combat didn't seem within her interests, if the fairy was part of the Queen's Blades she had to be of importance.

“Fall back.” Esyllt suggested to Draza. “These aren't games.”

The drow and... A woman with a mechanical dragon, seemed powerful allies in their regards. Monsters to fight monsters, it was sure more exotic than a squadron of soldiers. Esyllt put her hand down on the chessboard and focused her energy into it. She channelled mana through the tiles; forging a small body of black and white. It wouldn´t last long or be powerful without a soul to fuel it, but Esyllt didn´t need it to. While her allies would be demand the enemy's attention, Esyllt would have her creation sneak to the back of the girl; grabbing her legs and prevent her from dodging. If the golemancer would be successful, she would be free picking for any of her allies with ranged abilities.

Murderok and Gryff were less than impressed with the absolute volume of ideas coming in, if that was really they best people had to offer. "C'mon Gryff. Let's catch us a kitty and whassis name can put it to sleep." Murd began moving straight for the big cat. Gryff was less enamoured with the plan, while he had plenty of weight and momentum, he didn't have the raw strength of a minotaur either. But it was the only really viable plan.

So Gryff waited for Murd to make a move as he strung his bow, smoothly he waited and aimed, when the time came he'd attempt to put a shaft into one of its hind legs, enough to hurt it and prevent it from being able to simply rake anyones, like his own, belly with its deadly claws. "I gotcha back Murd. Just watch out for the back claws, they're deadlier than the teeth are."

"Speaking of teeth. I'm gunna get me one of em." Murd grinned. Improvised dentistry never killed anyone.

Alicia Le’roux - East Watchtower

If her tutors saw her now, they would be hurling a thousand chastising comments at the duellist. Her lessons had never been anything but gruelling, and so many of the basics were hammered into her by repetition and yet she had forgotten all of them.

She had spent more time thinking of her battle with Dirge, about how she would best the behemoth, that she was not giving her opponent the respect he deserved and even forgetting the most basic of information. He was quicker than she suspected, but she should have been faster.

No, she was faster. What had happened was she was had gone for a one hit-kill, and she had focused on flair. She was the better duellist: she was always the better duellist and yet her oversized ego might cost her dearly as she tried to rush things.

Arrogance, if anything, was Alicia’s greatest flaw. She was so used to getting her own way that, sometimes at least, she would lose every logical part of her mind in pursuit of her demanded outcome.

She glared up at Daren, coming down for a second swinging blow. The shoulder barge had been enough to knock some sense into Alicia, even if it didn’t hurt all that much. This blow was one from the axe: hungry to taste blood. Alicia was focused now, not worried about the other Queen’s blades, or ending this battle quickly. Dirge seemed to be honouring his opponents, and some other woman had begun an ineffective assault that might distract the armoured man.

No, Alicia was focused on Daren now, and on living. She grasped at the lithe grace provided by her fading vampire heritage and knew that this fight-as handicapped as she was by the time of day and her own impatience- was going to require a bit of patience and a little give-and-take.

She waited until the axe swung down to dodge, letting patience define her new manoeuvres. As late as she felt she could: she rolled to the left, away from the swing of the axe and the slam of the shield, in response to her dodge.

Assuming she lived, that far, she would roll again, putting herself onto her knees now as she jabbed at Daren’s neck with rapier’s tip. If it worked, he would be caught off guard. If it didn’t, at least she’d be on her feet enough to have a chance at dodging the follow up.

East Watch Tower - Kasim

The blow to his left arm was exquisitely painful, but not enough to put Kasim out of action. He didn't need his left arm to use the short sword anyway, so it wasn't an immediate problem. It was rather disappointing that his arrow had only knocked the orc's helm off, but it wasn't a total loss. That blood creeping toward his enemy's eyes would be Kasim's best chance to deal with this fight quickly, to be the first to finish off his opponent and be able to claim the glory of being the best combatant in their little group.

As the orc remarked on the fight as glorious, Kasim circled around to his shield side and made a quick slash at his enemy's leg. It had little force behind it, just meant to harass and draw a little blood if the blade's tip made contact. He kept on circling around as soon as he swung, moving to stay on the outside of the orc's axe range, ready to move quickly if the big bastard did anything crazy or if he saw an opening. Kasim was waiting for that blood to get in his enemy's eyes, for the orc to get blinded and distracted, at which point he'd rush in and go for the neck to end the fight in one blow, if possible.
Town Square - Zin

Upon finding her efforts largely futile, just one of the militia snapping out of their fearful stupor, Zin felt her own panic gripping her once more. She felt obligated to help the man she'd sent into battle though, and almost started to make more illusory fire to scare the spider to distraction, but she hesitated long enough to see something to make it even better. A small barrel went rolling down past the spider, and flames chased it.

Zin yelled out to warn the militiaman, since the voice yelling about minding flames hadn't been specific enough for her liking. "Watch out for the barrel!" She drew on her magic to try to make illusion flames spring up in front of the spider, around the militiaman, flames about a foot high in a curve about five feet long in total to scare it and herd it back and closer to the exploding barrel. The soldier would feel no pain or heat from the fake flames, but hopeful the spider would flee them on instinct and run right into the other threat and leave itself open for an attack from behind as well. The only problem was that this level of flame conjuring was something she had not mastered, so she shouldn't be sure it would actually work. Zin concentrated as hard as she could on making the spell work, ignoring the other fighting going on around her for the moment.

West Watch Tower - Abida Qisaf

Once more the foolhardy singing sprite acted without thought or sense. By moving forward, the twisted game was begun, and of all things she offered biscuits to the fellow Blade's. Abida looked down at her in disdain as she reached over her shoulder for the hilt of her sword. "Your very existence is a cruel mockery," she said before moving off.

At least her other fellow's seemed quite a bit more capable. As they moved to fight the summoned demons, Abida turned her eyes to the true target; the girl of Sloth. It was by catching her that the game would end. Pulling the greatsword free from it's scabbard, Abida began moving quickly towards the girl, her eyes darting in case she should catch a glimpse of the hidden hooded man.
Town Square - Thailen Vicariss

A bitter smell rose from the acidic poison as it began to burn it's way through her leather armour. Her charge slowed as she moved to tear it off. Ahead, Eldrick began attacking the spider, and Thailen realized the spider would attack again. This time, the spider might strike more than a glancing blow. If it did, Eldrick's death would be on her hands for driving him to action.

Thailen continued her charge forward, ignoring the beginning pinpricks of pain in her shoulder. If they survived a healer could tend to it, but only if they weren't consumed by the explosion. Lashing forward with her whip, she hoped to yank the spider off of it's feet, throwing it's aim awry and giving Eldrick an easy strike.

“Fiend, while you may hide, the devout will triumph yet! You merely prolong the inevitable for your crimes. Step forth and challenge me, foul one, and I shall issue you a swift and painless death!" --Rayvon Krayvitch, Page 1.
West Watch Tower

Draza's consumption of sugary sweets did get Meryl's attention as she stared in delight, though the moment Draza moved forward, her look of delight turned into a bit of a maniacal grin. "AHA! Game's on!" She immediately takes a couple steps back, though continued staring at the sugary treats.

Naream's attempt to take control of the skeletal archers proved fairly fruitless after summoning three pawns of his own and ordering them about. He only managed to successfully force the one on the left to hesitate, while the one on the right ducked and covered its bow as Maevan's bullets spread through the air, bringing a trail of fire with them. The archer that hesitated watched its bowstring disintegrate, much to its apparent annoyance as it tosses it down and summons a short sword into its hand. Everything seemed to be going to plan thus far.

That is, until the assassin appeared.

Behind Fafnir, who was busy protecting Maevan, the man in a black cloak and leather appeared. Wielding a particularly sharp dagger in one hand, he jams it into Fafnir's back right leg, twisting it once and completely ruining the gears and gyros that made the leg functional, causing it to go limp and the spirit within to flinch in pain. The dagger was not ordinary, it was magical. "GUSTAVO!" Meryl yells as she manages to get behind the large, ten foot tall, hooved demon. "GO GET ME A SNAAAACK!" She says with impatience in her voice. Gustavo grumbles as he vanishes back into the air, unable to attempt to finish the job against Fafnir. Why he would obey orders like that was a mystery, though one the magically inclined would feel a connection between the two of them.

As Naream's two skeletal attackers move for the succubi, the hooved demon makes one mighty cleave with his warhammer and obliterates them both in one swing. His immense strength was readily apparent, though he wasn't particularly fast.

The two succubi then decide to attack. Both uncoil their whips and giggle mischievously as the one on the left goes after Naream. With one solid strike it attempts to hit him, though his defending skeleton steps in the way and takes the blow around its wrist. It then holds the whip with both hands, attempting to prevent the succubi from getting her weapon back so easily. Just as it seemed as though it would win, a loud whistle can be heard through the air before Aëyr's stone finds its mark, striking the succubi square between the eyes. She drops her whip and grabs her face in immense pain, blood clearly running through her fingers and down her arms. For all tense and purposes, she was at least temporarily out of the fight.

The one on the right, meanwhile, goes after Fafnir, seeing as how he had charged forth and stopped both archers from firing, he was the most pressing target. She snaps her whip at him, and it cleanly rips a large gash through his left wing, bits and pieces of metal shredded, oil rolling down it. He was still functional, but heavily slowed.

Esyllt's golem continued to try and get behind the little girl, and amusingly, the demons either didn't care about it at the moment, or somehow missed it. Though it wasn't quite in range this round, it would be by the next round. Draza on the other hand would notice sharply that the grass was being moved wherever the feet of the assassin, Gustavo, were. She could clearly track his progress straight towards her, from her right side. Esyllt was in front of her, and equipped to handle a threat like that. It was up to her to tell Esyllt.

Abida Qisaf would find that her approaching the girl was quickly countered by the girl hiding behind the ten foot tall demon. Whether it was her approach that caused her to do that or not was irrelevant to the fact now: It would take more than just herself to kill that thing.
East Watch Tower

Zayn would deftly find several mechanisms inside the bomb. It was clear that most of this was outside of his area of expertise, but one particularly shiny piece of glass filled with black powder caught his eye. Pulling it out, he realized that this was the ignition for the bomb. Without it, the bomb could not go off. He receives an answer from the orc juggernaut as he pulls it out. "He was once an old friend, whom I swore an oath to. I have no choice but to follow." He then turns and violently charges for Child, as the scarab had not been able to fully recover from the wounding blow, that left only Child as a real threat. Child, of course, noticed, and attempted to roll out of the way before he could be hit. However, with a single, mighty swing of surprising speed and grace, Dirge intercepted where Child would be and slammed his warhammer into Child's side. Sending him sprawling a couple feet away with half a dozen broken ribs, Dirge glanced upon the brutally wounded figure for a moment. Then, with pity in his eyes, and a single overhead swing, he completely crushes Child's ribcage, killing him nearly instantly from shock alone.

Dragging the bloody smear of his opponent across the grass and then hefting it back up into his two hands, he glares at Zayn and Dread Fang. "Run, while you can." He says, this time more threateningly as he realized that something had happened to one of his compatriots. He seemed fully aware that Zayn had successfully disabled the bomb in a way that he could not repair. He did not appear to care.

Alicia, in the meantime, manages to barely evade the attack from the half-orc as his axe comes cleaving downward. He stops short of impaling the ground with it and attempts to turn to face her, only to see a rapier moving for him. He stumbles in his attempt to move backward and his cheek is subsequently sliced open, a very deep cut showing the reddish-yellowish glint of his teeth behind the cheek. Darek howls in pain as he gives her enough space to get back on her feet, raising his shield high enough to defend his neck once again and smacking his shield with his weapon. "COME ONNNN!" He yells at her. "BRING IT ON!"

Kasim on the other hand was wise to wait for the blood to continue to seep down the half-orc's forehead. His attempted slash attack fails, but his quick feet keep him always slightly too far for Oran to get a solid strike in with his axe. In rage and frustration, he suddenly swings in the opposing direction, a wide open swing that belied his lack of control. With a single quick witted duck Kasim avoids the axe, the blood finally blinding the half-orc as he tries to wipe it clear with his shield arm. Thus, with a single nimble step forward and an arrogant grin to match the reputation he likely thought he would gain with this, his blade sinks into Oran's neck, through his wind pipe, utterly destroying his vocal chords before he could scream. A final gasp leaves him as he slips off of Kasim's blade, slumping to the ground a dead heap. So much for glory.
Town Square

Andrea would find her vision getting blurry already as she charged her spell and threw it at Jeremy. The knife wounds were likely beyond her capacity to simply muscle through: After all, there was a knife in her abdomen. This proved fairly true as her spell missed its mark by some distance, instead slamming into a nearby house and lighting its roof on fire. Luckily thanks to the modernization going on in this part of town, the fire would be slow to spread, if it would at all. On the other hand, she still had a spider mesmerized and ready to obey her commands, if she was willing to risk its life.

Laenaia's nondescript attempt to distract the protector using illusion magic proved not to work due to the lack of any specific focus in her mind. If it had any practical effect beyond mildly confusing the protector, there was nothing really to be said of it.

Rayvon charges in to support Wayne, bringing her blade to bare against the protector she watched as the protector pulled out of her daggers away from holding off Wayne to holding off Rayvon. Impressively, she was barely managing to hold them both back, though judging by the way her feet started to slide against the dirt, leaving deep trails of desperation behind them, she would not last long against the both of them. "Almost... There... Love..." Jeremy grunts out as his hands become wreathed in a dark, swirling, nebulous energy that wreaked to Rayvon of corruption. Just as it seemed as though all hope might have been lost, a pair of arrows come whistling towards them. The first one strikes Rayvon's shoulder, just underneath her shoulder piece, rending through flesh but otherwise not being a deadly wound, nor disabling her arm. The second arrow finds its mark, weaving its way through both of them to strike the woman in the throat. She hesitates a moment as the light of hope and loyalty in her eyes dims. She then falls backwards, a lifeless husk by the time she hits the ground.

"NOOOOO!" Jeremy screams at the top of his lungs as he swings out and bludgeons Wayne, sending him several feet through the air and landing beside Andrea. "YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" He glares at Rayvon. "But first... YOU!" With that said, the shadows start to climb up from his hands to his arms, quickly moving to attempt to encompass the rest of his body. They had only a few seconds left before whatever spell he cast would be complete.

Wayne glances at Andrea and manages a small grin, displaying his fangs. He then tears the knife out of his throat, blood seeping everywhere as he simply lays back against the ground. He had nothing left to fight with at this point.

Meanwhile, at the same time as this was happening, Mars' alcohol fire worked according to plan as the spider hissed at it. As commanded to by Zin, Eldrick backed off. The illusory flames also rose up from Zin, and as it found itself increasingly cornered. Thailen's whip finds its mark, snaking around the spider's leg. With a quick yank, the spider stumbles back into the real fire. The fire began to race up its leg, it screeched in horror as the fire continued to climb about its form. Being entirely wreathed in flames within a few seconds, it stumbled about before collapsing over the fountain, breaking the top of it off to reveal the bomb. It had a comical looking timer on it, showing only two minutes left before it would explode. Worse still, this meant that it was armed, and thus just bashing it would likely only set it off. As if that wasn't enough, this bomb was configured in such a way as to have three crystals juxtaposing out from each side, likely to vastly amplify its otherwise mundane explosive power. Without those crystals, it likely only had enough explosive power to destroy the fountain and do minor damage to the buildings immediately around it.

A small ghost of James appears over-top of the bomb, leaning on his cane and looking around, seemingly unaware of the environment, almost like it was a prerecorded message. "Oh! Hello there Queenies Blades! So here's the trick. Remove the crystals in the right order, and everyone lives. Don't, and the bomb will immediately explode, killing whoever is attempting to diffuse it, but sparing the local civilians. Don't try to defuse it at all and you might have a chance to run... But the civilians will die." He then points down at the bomb. "Figure out the beginning, middle, and ending, the purist sight to its hybrid with another, and everything will be made clear!" That was likely the only clue they were going to get.

A closer look would reveal the crystals to each have a colour: Pink, purple, and red, each respectively. The pink crystal had the symbol of water on it, the purple crystal had the symbol of a plant on it, and the red crystal had the symbol of the sun on it.
Raven's Inn

Aslo, Gryff, and Murderok would find themselves accompanied by Mikan. The schizophrenic dwarf took up "rear guard", as he likely put it, while Mikan pulled out both of her daggers and twirled them in her hands. She hoped that whatever they were talking about would work, she had no idea what kind of tonic it was, as potions and the like were more a certain blood mage's field of expertise, or even the crescent sisters... Her own experience with such things was "don't touch it". Muderok moved ahead of the others, immediately attracting the attention of the sabre cat, who growled lowly at his approach. Mikan raises her daggers and remains close to Gryff and Aslo. "... I hope this works." She whispers as the sabre cat, moments later, bounds into action. It jumps up and starts moving towards Murderok. When Gryff fires his crossbow, it manages to evade the attack by jumping to the side. "Huh. Smart cat." Mikan says with slight annoyance in her voice as it immediately bull rushes for Murderok, though its dodge gave him enough time to turn and retreat if he wanted. "Uhhh... Aslo, I think it's up to you!" Mikan says with slight panic in her voice.

This would turn out poorly for them if they weren't careful.

Zayn - East Watch Tower

Zayn held the bomb piece in his hands. It sure looked important. And the powder was bomb stuff, right? Zayn doubted the bomb could work properly without it.

Dirge’s last missive brought a flash of comprehension across his face. The crunch of Child’s bones followed by the sudden silence of one of the orc fighters made Zayn frown. As he sensed their minds faded into nothingness, he couldn’t help but think that, had they approached this situation differently, no one would have needed to die. Zayn rose from his kneeling position before the bomb, ignition device in hand.

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll leave. There’s no need to warn me a third time. I’ve performed my duty here today. Best of luck with yours. Zayn reached out and sent this one last message to the knight, before making his way out of the mêlée, giving all the combatants a wide berth. Gripping the ignition piece in one hand, the telepath was ready to smash it into the ground if Dirge or his minions made a move for him. He had no idea what that would do, or if the orcs were able to repair the bomb, or if they had a mind to. But the thing in his hands looked important; he doubted they’d be able to get the bomb working without it.

One he was sure he was clear of the combat, Zayn reached into the minds of his fellow nearby Queen’s Blades, or at least those still alive, The bomb is disarmed. There’s nothing left to be gained by continuing the fight. You’re welcome to stay and join the gladiator’s fate, but I’m getting out of here before I’m turned into a pancake. With that, Zayn made his way towards the Queens to, hopefully, report their success and see if he could be of any further use.

Draza, refusing still to approach this scene with violence. Powers of Playfulness and Serenity a-go-go.

“When it comes to kids, everything’s a game,” Draza said up to Esyllt, “It’s why they’re so dangerous, so fun, and so full of OH HEY.” Draza took a slight turn with her sweets in her hands at the sudden outcry of Meryl for the retrieval of snacks and her assistant’s rather cold and efficient dismissal of the mechanical beast of wonders. Draza’s hands clutched the good a bit more tautly, “Gustavo seems to be a trifle unfair in the game, can’t see where the pieces are moving,” Draza shook her head as she did catch eye of the motions of the assassin, something she tried to not let on quite yet.

Draza reached into her pack with as much haste as she could manage, “If we’re allowed our stalwart protectors as ancillary pieces, then I want Gahrul. Sneaky right-side attacks call upon valiant broadside defences.” Rummaging with a quickness, she pulled out another small toy, a leather clad and woven ball, tossing it half-hearted to the ground before pulling out her stuffed ogre toy, Gahrul, who was covered in some crumbs and powdered sugar. “All right, here we go. Gahrul, mighty ogre defender of the weak, and stumbling friend to the small. Prone to flipping tables when angered, and turning tables in combat!”

With a twist, a pirouette, she turned to the approaching Gustavo, shoved another snack coated in powdered sugar for ‘good luck’ into Gahrul’s ‘grip’ before throwing him at the assassin as she jumped slightly back from his approach. She slightly hoped that the sudden poomf of white sugar would perhaps help reveal the perpetrator as well, or perhaps satisfy his quest for a snack for his mistress, “Go get him, Gahrul! Make him crumble like my cookies have, er,” she brushed her hands on her sides, grinning while hoping her playful attitude towards this rather dangerous game would be appreciated by her competitor, if not by her friends and compatriots, “Well, crumbled on you. And you!” again she turned to point in the direction of Meryl, “If you want a snack, you could just ask. If it’s in the rules for me to share across sides I don’t see the harm in doing so.” She shook her head, “Besides, if you asked nicely, I’m sure I could make sure you only got the best snacks for your tastes.”

Maher & Nadira Adonai
Ravens Inn

Maher blinked as the green haired Mikan spoke to the group, he was still a little bit shell-shocked from the earlier incident and wasnt thinking entirely straight. As everyone started moving again he shook his head to try and clear it, so Aslo wanted to put the beast to sleep and the two mercs were apprently going to tackle it... "How many cats do you know that love water, Sister?" Maher said with a slow smile spreading across his face.

Nadira smiled at her brother "Do you remember mothers black cat?" Her brother and herself had once decided to try and bathe their mothers cat not long after they had began their lessons. It was safe to say it did not end well... For the cat or for them once their mother found out.

"How about we give this kitty a cold dousing." Maher said hoping that maybe they could shock the beast for a moment or two, at least long enough for the others to act and restrain it.

Nadira simply nodded her head, her brother and her had used their magic together many times, specially for stunning. However they used to stun the rabbits and small critters that would run around near their home, a tiger is a little different. "Let's do this then brother"

Maher started an incantation, or at least a half of an incantation. One that the twins had enacted before and through their shared link were capable of flawlessly merging the timing of each half. The goal was to create a large sphere of icy water in the air that they could then direct to drop on the cat from above dousing it from outside its peripheral vision and avoiding their fellow blades in the process.

Nadira followed along with her brother, casting her part of the spell, and silently hoping it would bring the tiger down long enough for their companions to subdue it.

Alicia Le’roux-East Watch Tower

The feel of the rapier hitting flesh was a welcome change of pace in the battle, although she had no illusion to the fact that this fight was still very much alive and well. The smell of blood on the air was a tempting one, but she would deal with that little niggle later. First off, she had to continue the ‘living’ plan she’d started to outline.

Seeing Darek scream out had given her the time to find her feet, and him slamming weapon against shield had been enough time to take a step back and retrieve the parasol she’d attempted to use earlier for the offensive. Under its shade, Alicia felt a sense of control and strength return to her. Even the slightest touch of sunlight had a sapping effect on her, and to be back under the protection of her parasol would help in the fight to come…Probably.

She started to take steps towards the half-orc now, confidence starting to eke into her steps again. She had struck a blow, and now she had exorcised her overconfident rush. She was circling away from Kasim, trying to give Darek another thing to worry about. Alicia was in no rush to the shield wielding Half-orc head on.

However, she was far too prideful to actually wait out the warrior’s defeat. Kasim would likely not risk a shot from his bow when there was a chance of collateral damage. In Alicia’s mind, this was still a one-on-one fight. A duel, if you will. She jabbed her rapier forward with the speed of a viper’s coiling, followed by a rapid, slippery retreat. She aimed for his barely protected legs while the shield guarded the neck. Punishing the high defence while whittling down his manoeuvrability with Rapid blows was the most sure fire way to beat down Darek while staying alive.

Laenaia

Laenaia squinted her nose as a wave of smell from the spilled blood mixed with the stench of burning spider hit. The combination of the two made her stomach lurch in disgust. What kept her from retching out was Jeremy's hate filled shout. Focusing her effort once more, she attempted to force Jeremy's attention at the one thing that she knew she won't need much to make him focus regardless of what happened, his protector's fallen body.

She focused on the obvious grief he felt and tried to bring it to the surface and more of a priority than the rage and thirst for revenge over the Blades. On top of that, she preyed on his, if she read it right, hope that the aasimar might still survive, she couldn't do much, but a slight deception was something she could do, especially if it was a slight one, such as making him think that the aasimar twitch. Hopefully it would prevent him from finishing his spell, if not, well, fuck him anyway and she could only hope it didn't have large enough range to affect her.

Aëyr, selkie. Western Watch Tower.
Slippery, Stealthy, Endurance Training; running and aquatic conditions.

Seeing her hit make contact, Aëyr again moved.

This was not the first violent engagement the selkie had been a part of. She'd fought off a couple cutpurses or bandits here in there during her long treks alone. However, this was a new experience for her, in two ways. Firstly, no longer was she alone, hoping to take out an assailant so that she might flee more profusely; today she must stay and fight alongside her companions. She must work as a member of a team, and play her part within it. Secondly, this would be the first engagement where the stones she sent forth from her sling were intent on killing her foes, not merely disabling them.

It was altogether a new experience, and a rather nerve-wracking one.

She again began to run, circling around to the left of the combat but being sure not too get past her comrades either and find herself amidst the enemy line. As she ran, her feet slipping effortlessly across the ground, she continued to sweep her sling through the air in tight and controlled circles, again building up the momentum needed for an accurate swing as quickly as she could. It only took her two rotations to reach maximum speed.

As she drew level with Abida, she released the stone, throwing it towards the right-most skeletal archer, hoping to crack through his bone. Aëyr's aim was directed at his head in his ducked-down state, but were he to stand, it was intended to crash into the bones of his hip.

If she could just pick off these weaker opponents one by one, then the group would stand a better chance at formulating a plan of action to counter the giant creature before them.

West Watch Tower - Abida Qisaf

Before Abida stood the great demon behemoth, and on the far side stood the girl. It was large, and it was strong. But like many large, strong creatures, it was slow. She began circling to her left, towards the skeleton now wielding a sword. While a sword could pierce flesh as well as an arrow, at least a sword could be blocked. Also, the other skeleton would be forced to risk hitting the girl in order to shoot at Abida.

Raising her greatsword above her head as she came closer to the skeleton, she swung it down*, hoping to crush the foes guard with the blow, if not crush the foe itself as well.

Town Square - Thailen Vicariss

After tearing off the ruined shoulder pad, she looked down at the bomb before her, eyes wide. She tumbled the riddle around in her head for a moment before turning to the others. "Run!" She shouted, "I don't know if failing will kill only me or all of us Blade's, so run."

Figure out the beginning, middle, and ending, the purist sight to its hybrid with another, and everything will be made clear! Water, a plant, and the sun. Plants lived off of sun and water, so surely it was the hybrid. And if they gave birth to it, it would be the end, but what would be the first? She had been taught that before the world, there was only the sun, and light. But she knew of other faiths near the sea who said that in the beginning there was only an endless black ocean. What did the magician believe? Perhaps he believed that the sun was birthed from the crown of a tree, and water from it's sap?

There were too many options, too many ways the crystals could fall. Reaching for her beads, she wrapped them around her fist as her mind fell into turmoil. Closing her eyes, she prayed to the Twins for sight. Sight. The purist sight could only be the sun. And the answer will be clear. The clarity of water, with the plant forming the hybrid inbetween. Red, purple, and pink. Taking deep breaths, Thailen waited until either time or enemies forced her to act before pulling out the crystal.

"Sun, plant, water," she repeated to herself, "Red, purple, pink."

Western Watchtower, a game of Sloth Chess

He cursed as he saw two of his wights simply get obliterated without any effort and felt a pang of concentration loss as the mental connection to them ceased to exist, which would explain his failed attempt at controlling the skeletal archers, or at least that's what he liked to think. He growled and turned to his third wight, commanding it in his native tongue. "Kill the demon." He said dismissively as his third wight started marching towards the Succubus who had lost her whip and was dazed by a hurled stone.

Muttering obscenities under his breath he leafed through his tome and found the relevant page again, muttering the incantations and drawing upon his powers once more and again brought into being and opened a small portal, through which two more wights stepped through, green balefire shimmering in their eyesockets. Naream took a involuntary step back and rubbed his forehead to get the beads of sweat off that had appeared there and he grunted. "Pace yourself..." He murmured slowly and shook his head. "You, guard me." One of the wights stiffened and brought his shield up, looking for threats headed for its master.

The other wight had a two-handed sword and waited for any commands from the necromancer. Naream gestured to the first succubus, "Go and make yourself useful and kill that one along with your fellow wight." He snarled and watched the wight go.... and then cocked his head and started to think. If the bodies remained... would a succubus... or that big demon... be available to be turned into undead? He was eager to find out.

Raven's Inn

Murderok noticed the cat's evasion of Gryffs bow-shot and grunted. He knew the risks and dangers involved and now push came to shove it was time to really shove. He ground his hooves in the dirt and began a charge at the cat roaring as loud as he could at the animal, he could even hear it behind him as Gryff holstered his bow and began a long charging gallop also screaming a blood-curdling war cry at the top of his lungs. Hopefully the Big Cat would get dog-piled by them and pinned down long enough for the tonic to do its job, or the trap get set off whatever came first.

Though as Gryff began his charge at the Cat timed to meet Murderoks own charge he reflected that this was perhaps not the best tactic. Big Cats were intelligent creatures and seeing two creatures that outmassed it considerably charging it the beast might decide to evade them and go for a much softer target, like the emerald-haired Mikan or the crazed dwarf, though he doubted the latter while animals like this did often go for carrion when it was available they generally preferred to avoid things that smelt like carrion but moved.

“Gustavo! Go get me a snack!”

Esyllt figured this outcry meant bad news for the fairy behind her shield. “Fall back,” Esyllt repeated, this time trying to sound more authoritative, but Draza did no such thing. Instead, she pulled an orc plushie out of her backpack and muttered something about a sneak-attack from the right. Esyllt's attention instantly shifted to said direction, trying to spot a sign of movement. However, it wasn't until Draza threw a doll, covered in sugary bits, at the approaching threat that Esyllt found it's position.

Drawing her sword next to her shield, she stepped in between Draza and Gustavo, brandishing her blade at the assassin. The sugary trail wandered into the air, and Esyllt squinted for it not to end up in her eyes. She wasn't sure if the fairy was making things easier or harder for her, but at the very least she had good eyes.

“Keep your eyes out for other threats.” Esyllt asked of Draza, as without a formation everyone was vulnerable. Even donned in full armour, seeing how the mechanical dragon Fafnir had been ravaged, Esyllt knew this Gustavo wouldn't play around...

Andrea & Ceann

Groaning she placed a hand on her wound, she had been more badly injured than she had been led to believe and looked at the vampire dying beside her through blurred vision and snarled, <"Useless blood sucker."> She muttered and made her hand glow faintly as she poured healing magic into her wound. She flinched for a moment when she sensed movement and then felt and saw the spider she had convinced to accept her as its new mistress trace a leg over her face. She let out a soft purr, <"Don't worry... mommy is making sure... that I am not bleeding to death."> She glanced at the vampire beside her again and rolled her eyes. <"You better be useful..."> She all but growled as she reached out and placed her free hand on the vampires throat, doing her best to stabilize the blood drinker without burning him alive.

Ceann looked at her mistress but ignored it her for the moment, she was taking care of herself, she heard one of the other Blades yelling for them to run for cover because she seemed to want to disable the explosive device. All fine and good but the main threat was still channeling his spell. The Aasimar on their side had however moved in the way, she reached for the special quiver on her back and retrieved one of the fire arrows. She had never fought or killed a vampire before, but the stories always told them to be vulnerable to fire, did they not?

Drawing back she aimed, looking for a opening to loose the arrow and hit the vampire, once again hoping to distract or cancel out whatever spell he was working on.
