I like the sound if the first one, but Two does seem like a viable backup option.

So, the RPers having no control at all it is. Of course, there will probably be Co-GMs or at least ICs to help out in case the GM is out.

If I feel that I could start the RP soon, I'll start drafting the systems (which won't be too complicated) and crafting the world

So, Xcom Enemy Unknown has finally finished downloading and I've played a bit.

My word, I didn't expect to care about my soldiers as much as I did on Ironman mode. I remember my Assault, nicknamed by me 'Blitzkrieg' being saved from a Floater by the Sniper, nicknamed by the system 'Loki' and on the same mission, Blitzkrieg saved Loki from one of those big aliens(forgot what they were called) by dropping from the roof and shooting it in the back with a shotgun.

Yeah. I will be spending ALOT of time on Xcom.

XCOM does that to you. :P

Now try doing that when they're all based off friends of yours.

I myself an debating a playthrough where I base them off actors and celebrities I like a lot.
So I'd have soldiers such as: Morgan Freeman, Mother Russia (Kickass 2), Terry Crews - Old Spice, Nostalgia Critic, Angry Joe, Spoony etc.

Save Morgan Freeman always.

Everyone else is expendable.

Death of Major Perry.

R.I.P you were the best sniper ever ;-; Fucking mutons. Not even a flashy close up animation.

Anyways, looking forward to the OOC whenever it comes out.

Heh :D

I've been having a different kind of experience. I've been playing Xenonaut for weeks now, but it's hard to master. I've more or less lost a few times now. My chinook got shot down over the mediterranean. Only three out of eight of my soldiers survived the incident.

EDIT: Anyway, I've been writing.

I remember a mission gone wrong to attack a crashed UFO. In the first few turns, already, two died. I decided to abort the mission and evac, but the blue thing was really damn far away. I left one guy to defend while another person was going to the evac, when I decided I was going to do this frikkin mission. Third guy died, and the last one left was the rookie.

And she killed all the aliens. No joke. I don't know how, but through tons of luck and flanking, with only one survivor the mission was beaten.

I was like "Holy hell, she's female Rambo!"

Never separate your squad too much in XCOM unless if it's for one of two reasons.

1. A squadmember is critical and close to dead. In which case keep them strictly further back in already scouted areas.
NEVER send anyone out alone into un-scouted territory, especially someone close to death.

2. Setting up an ambush/flank.
As in distract them with group A so group B can get them from the side, or attack from the roof etc.
(I've had cases where they completely miss the soldiers hiding on the roof above so my men could just jump down and get flank shots on all of them from behind).
But even with this proceed with caution cause this plan quickly backfires if one of the two squads get's the attention of even more aliens.

Question.

If, let's say, some abduction missions show up and my best squad are away from being wounded and what's left is just one member of that team and quite a few corporals, rookies and squaddies, should I wait for them to recover or accept the abduction missions?

Depends on the panic levels. Here's a rundown:

> If panic levels will go to yellow or below (up to 3) on all continents involved, leave it.
> If panic levels will go to orange (4) and the difficulty is easy or medium, take the mission. If the difficulty is hard, it's probably not worth it.
> If panic levels will go to red (5), then take it no matter what the difficulty.

Obviously, prioritise the place with highest panic. Finally, some advice - don't rely on a single team! Make sure you have spares.

Ugh, that's my problem.

When I have my starting crew, I barely use the other people. I never bother with spares, only using my best group, so when one of them dies, I am in serious trouble because it's hard to level a rookie up to say, major and it's unlikely to get the same class as the dead guy.
