Personality: Always seems to have a leveled head, or at least forces himself to most of the time, Shuugen refused to ever back down from an adversary or something akin to the like. Overly stubborn, once he sets his mind to something, it is almost impossible to shake his unbreakable will. At the same time, Shuugen constantly calculates various equations within his mind, often considering the best method he should take in a given situation.
At the same time, he is rather awkward around others. Not overly so, but he never really interacts with many if it is not in the description for a mission or something akin to this. Though he is not "shy" per se, he does prefer not to be within the spotlight due to discomfort found from such.
As himself, Shuugen is a rather mellow person with little involved expression nine times out of ten. There are instances when it'll seem like he doesn't care about something, even if he does but after countless years of simple observation, he's ditched the 'surprised' expression for a blank one. It is for this reason why many people tend to have a negative opinion on the man once they've seen his actual self. As stated previously, he couldn't really care, but is certainly not a "bad" person
In a regular setting, Shuugen comes off as a fairly friendly, though rowdy male. He often helps those less fortunate than himself, even though he may make a few ill-mannered statements and the like. He enjoys joking around with friends and would not hesitate to cheer somebody up in the event they are conflicted by emotional strain.
When confronted by an enemy or a person of great power, however, his personality does a complete turnaround. He becomes battle ready and unafraid to strike at his opponent, after all, those who hold back in a fight will be at the mercy of their opponents. Shuugen also enjoys a good fight against a powerful opponent. The allure of a good fight is truly what he desires, his blood boiling at such a prospect. He's ready to fight until the end, though only against foes he deems worthy. Not likely to lose composure in battle, Shuugen would never falter to a foe, even one of great strength.
One should expect blunt statements from him. He isn't one to sugar coat things and often comes off badly because of this. He possesses a fairly upstanding code of moral conduct on the outside, probably being best described as a "threshold deontologist," and when he deems a certain act to outweigh any others in terms of an eventual moral consideration, will devote himself entirely to that route. This further ties into his usual bluntness as when he is acting towards such a goal, he will rarely try to skirt around the issue when it is brought up.
Shuugen is shown to have a rather fair amount of loyalty in his word. One can consider someone like him a "Lawful Neutral" character, seeing as he does follow his own desires, but at the same time follows the rules of a society. That being said, his personality still enjoys to fight others. Though he does not always desire to move in for the kill against others, he would not hesitate if this person stood within the way of himself and an objective.

Brief Backstory: Rather standard stuff. Nothing really comes to mind besides "boring" when Shuugen would imagine his own history. His mother was evidently a miko in her youth. Also seems to carry around a katana with himself.

Personality: Little autonomy of which to speak. It is living metal which is imbued with the desires of what speaks to it.
Powers: One might be able to say that Shuugen is able to "interfere' with items created of metal and things that would be classified as a weapon. Red "threads" of sort, only visible to the owner of the ability, take shape and are able to "take the will" of the weapon or metal item in question and present to them his own will. In other words, one might be able to consider this person to be a masterful utilizer of weapons and the like, as his own consciousness is projected through these weapons.
Various abilities extend from this singular power. First and foremost, he is able to disarm most others with ease, removing their weapons with his invisible threads, of which he can then use the weapons for himself, or just send them to areas which his aggressor would not be able to use such with ease. Both an effective passive and aggressive move, one might be able to end a battle with ease early on, or force the other to a disadvantage without their weapon. However, it is impossible for him to tie a thread to a weapon when it already is deeply "contracted" to another being, for instance a certain Contractor and Excalibur, unless said contract is somehow broken.
Another ability one might be able to use is the conversion of weapon consciousness into one's own, thereby "fusing" the item within oneself. Of course, the fusion is not permanent, and lasts as long as the utilizes of the ability wishes the fusion to last, however, replacing things like elbows with blades or skin with armors is possible. Though this ability can, but is not limited to "replacement of the body, enhancements upon the self, enhancements upon the weapon, and "replacement" of the weapon."
One might also be able to "speak" with a weapon. Though one does not directly speak with the blade, a mutual understanding is reached between the weapon and the person in question. Useful for gauging the abilities of another based on the weapon's "opinion". This is not limited to weapons, however. Anything "metallic" would be able to be used in the sense of "creating a mutual understanding between the inanimate object and the self". This passively grants him the ability to control weapons better than most others can, as he is able to "read the will of the [blade]", and for techniques or forms of "knowledge" that are ingrained within a piece of metal from its prior use, he becomes able to access this knowledge.
Fusion: There is no visible change to the body, however the effective range of the ability skyrockets, ergo his own perception of the metal around him expands such that he could form a thread with a piece of metal that lies at great distances away. Furthermore, thought processes are immensely accelerated and separated into different "partitions" to allow for immense speed of thought and calculation, which also leads to relatively increased reaction time. The limit of not being able to affect contracted metals is still present, but he now becomes able to "speak" to contracted metals. For instance, he could have a "chat" with Excalibur, but he still cannot make it move, making this add-on useful for information gathering but little else.
Summon: Appears as a veritable giant made of metal, lacking anything that would appear "organic". Forgotten things imbued with the property of a "soul." In theory, this summon bypasses Shuugen's ultimate limit, being able to take command of metal that is already contracted on top of the abilities of the Fusion form, due to the status of "metal persuading metal." However, when summoned the Tsukumogami is utterly mindless, seeing all instances of organic life as "monsters" that have forgotten it and its brethren. In short, it is a berserker-type offensive juggernaut that would attempt to destroy everything in its path, with even Shuugen at risk of being treated in this way. For this reason, unless there is a means of containing it or unless more life will definitively be destroyed if it is not brought about, Shuugen will never summon this being.

Type: Human turned "monster," a being beyond mortal limits best regarded as a spirit.
Personality: A dedicated housewife, calm and considerate of others. However, absolutely unbearable in terms of arrogance when the conversation subject becomes her weaving. Seriously.
Powers: The capacity to create "threads", "strings", or "wires", which may function physically, magically, or conceptually, so long as the user perceives what the strings are tying together. Strings can be to bind things together, to serve as a conduit to energy, to serve as a "bridge" between two states of affairs, and the like. For instance, one can create a string between an enemy and the ground in order to hold them in place, or strings between multiple enemies to hinder their movement and make them easier to target. In that sense, it is largely a support ability designed to hinder. However, using the example of tying together an enemy and the ground, the target would still be able to move, but would be treated as if their feet were glued against the earth. Strings can be broken if an appropriate magical "counter force" is used to break them, simply flooding the area the string occupies with energy, and thus freeing the target. Also grants the capacity to perceive and, if desired, "cut strings" in the form of severing connections between things which already are so long as she can perceive the things being severed from one another. Construction/destruction of a string is instantaneous, and multiple strings may be created and destroyed simultaneously.
Further, alterations on strings themselves are incapable of being infringed on by alternate existences (for instance, stopping the cutting of a string), unless an individual both has an appropriate ability to do so and is capable of perceiving strings in the same way as the user him/herself, ignoring the additional need of being able to somehow know a string will be cut in a given instant.
Fusion: Appearance to be decided when she gets a contractor. Perception of the user is expanded, and allows for the creation of a "web" by injecting one's "will" in the form of energy into the world and allowing it to flow along the world, functionally making a territory's area the threads of a web. The injection process itself is done briefly, but the process takes a week to cover a full city, for instance. The user gains the ability to perceive a full disclosive sketch of any existence upon her web in a manner not dissimilar from Presence Detection, regardless of concealment abilities or complexity, anything can be analyzed. If a web is created and then fusion form is abandoned, then while the perception boost from the web is gone, if fusion form is reentered the web will still be there, unless it has been destroyed.

She likely has a form bearing eight legs and the like, though she prefers to take the human appearance when summoned due to her own pride and shame. Time process for the creation of a web is reduced to one-tenth, however only Arachne and not her fusion forms can access her personal web, and two webs cannot exist in the same space at the same time. Physical agility is moved to utterly absurd levels, though physical strength remains low. She also weaves a damn good tapestry.
