Here are the final results of the battle:







As you can see, this was a massive overkill. Our status effects will be removed before next battle, so they don't persist. Since there are no enemies left, I'll move the story forward today. I felt like the battle slowed down posting a lot. It was either because of the battle or the 4th of July weekend, might have been the latter now that I think of it. Questions/review:

How did this feel? The good, the bad? What could have been done better? Suggestions for next battle? Did the stagger system obtrude upon your creative freedom? First impressions?

Edit: I know some did not get to taste much action, but rest assured that there will be plenty of opportunities down the road!

I thought it went very well. Initially I was a little leery of the stagger system, but it was actually very helpful. As you intended, it let me keep track of how things were going without actually having to worry about it.

In an RPG, this would definitely have been the "tutorial fight." But that's not a bad thing; I'm sure later ones will be spicier ;)

I tried finding a picture for Kim, but nothing really fit my image of him. I guess I could find a supermodel version of him. That or we can just use Cousin Itt from the Addams family. It’s close enough XD

@Prisk: From how much of the fight I actually participated in, it’s hard to say. From what I can tell, it looks good. As a slow writer, however, I’ll probably struggle with keeping up with the fight and it’ll feel like Kim was just standing around in the middle of the battle doing absolutely nothing… kind of like the characters you don’t use in your fighting party in JRPGs.

Ah yes, this is in the future, but I'll most likely not have access to the internet around August 15~18.

Edit: That and it's officially hurricane/typhoon season where I am. Blackouts may happen.

It's not a requirement, but attempt to find a picture for Kim. It would be nice to see some kind of photo version of him!

This particular fight was extremely short, as I intended it to be, (much like a "tutorial fight"). There will be plenty of battle opportunities in the future, so no worries!

I don't know what you guys do to get into the mood of things, but I've had a lot of success with watching "Let's play"s of Final Fantasy 7 (VII) and 13 (XIII) on YouTube. VII because of nostalgia and XIII for some cheesy drama and exaggerated emotions (there's even a 'movie' version of XIII that only has the cutscenes). Thought I'd mention it. Check it out, perhaps it will help you as it does me.

XIII Only brings me frustration and turmoil.

Was stuck on the second Barthandalus fight forever and eventually gave up. Q_Q The only part of JRPGs that I dislike is the ceaseless grind... but that's like 80% of it, sadly. :( I just can't sit in my chair doing the same thing for ten hours without advancing the story, but I love JRPGs, so conflict...

Anyways, for a tutorial fight, I think we went a little too overkill. I'd suggested rain of a million ice shards, but Black and I agreed that would be too much. She meant to freeze them for the others to finish off, but I guess I snap freezing a bunch of xenos weak to ice just annihilates them. Makes sense... lol.

At least it wasn't Enchanted Arms' tutorial fight, where you're up against the final boss and just die after the tutorial's done teaching you crap.

Now I really want to play all those Final Fantasy games I never got the chance to play. I wonder if my buddy would let me borrow his old games, or if I can get them off of steam. XD

And Rock, you're making me really regret not having a picture. XD I guess now I just have to try to find a picture of an asian male model with burn wounds and scars.

For personal reasons...

I can make some editions to photos: like adding the scars and burns with the hundreds of resources I have or changing colours, so it's not necessarily an issue. Just find the best that you can, what with all the filters, textures, and whatnot that I add to it, little things won't matter.

To Six and Insi: which photo would you like me to use for your character? Since you both have more than one.

And Prisk, I really liked this transition post, I "aw'd" pretty hardcore over Olivia and Aaron.
The battle system is good for monitoring the way we fight and play, it seemed to slow things down a little mostly because of the weekend and because I think we were all hanging back, wanting to see what others would do first. I'm pretty sure it'll be a little more effective the more we adapt to it and see how it'll be when confronting the bigger, badder baddies.

Can't believe I didn't notice Tenish's flashback suggestions though, those should be fun! These timelines are a pretty good idea as well.

I really hate working late hours, I got home and passed out and woke up like maybe a couple hours ago. I plan to finish these banners by tomorrow since I have off [I think]. For posting, I have what I want to do for Mags, but I really want to do a collaboration post with someone. ; u ; Just because I think Mags needs some dialouge! Grah.

Anyways - FFXIII: while I did like it, to an extent, I didn't really like the auto feature in battles. It's like constantly mashing the X button [because I'm a loyal Sony player] without a challenge until you get to the boss fights. I like grinding, surprisingly, and farming materials to upgrade weapons, but after beating it so many damn times from boredum alone - I actually learned to dislike it. I didn't bother with the sequel or the newest installment for it, because eh.

I find myself playing FVII, FVIII and FFX [X-2 maybe if I feel like playing dress up, because dress spheres, really. and Girl power.]
Those are my favourites, including FFVII because of the battle system and leveling up. Too bad I no longer own it. xc
I use these for inspiration actually.

FFX I think is my favourite to grind mercilessly, I own the HD remaster so I can battle the super-bosses and the ultimate boss of the entire game.

Bad thing: I alternate between all of them and the controls are usually different including the battle systems. So it's mostly, oops, wrong one.

You should totally use this for Roy's banner.





Or if those don't work, I would just use the one you did for his thang with the sunglasses or the profile pic I used with the blanket or whatever he has in the picture... o_o

As for Kat, I, for some odd reason, typed 'mary elizabeth winstead cheesecake' in the google image search bar and this is the first thing it gave me. Don't ask me why cheesecake.



Also, if that's Kim I'm immediately just gonna say he and Roy banged before Thael/Roy was a thing. Go away, Kat, you can't have any of the men. No men for you. Alone forever. D:<

EDIT: I did not realize how large those images really were. Apparently... my zoom doesn't work properly. Also, give Roy tattoos, Rockette, so many tattoos. I don't care if it's not mentioned or a canon thing. Actually, I'm totally kidding, but I'm positive you could do it if I weren't.
