Her incense is placed in a long and thin metal needle that wraps around the incense and even covers the top. The needles themselves are several in several inches long and made of strong steel. Although they possess little killing power they can be used like senbon and thrown with accuracy. Still they are designed to easily pierce into the ground, trees or walls of an area to release their incense rather than an enemy body.
She also possesses a small Tanto with a purple sheath and handle and pinkish white cherry blossoms on them. Despite her preference in stealth and subversion she is very capable in tantojutsu, a martial arts focusing on knife work.
Finally in her possession are several vials of perfume and several hundred sticks of incense, kept in their metal coverings, placed in pouches that she wears around her belt. Each pouch contains a different incense or perfume in a secure and padded place, protecting them from wear due to moisture or travel.
Biography:
Shiro was born into a family with a rich and important tradition. If Shiro had been given a dime every time she had been told this growing up then she would be able to retire by now. Her mother insisted that they were proud kunoichi with a long history in the village. It didn’t take long for Shiro to find out that most other people viewed her mother’s clan in a different light.
Shiro started her training when she was five. This training consisted of meditation, singing, acting, cosmetics, various etiquette and learning about the culture and habits of several different regions. As soon as she entered the academy she was also pressured to get good grades there. Shortly after she turned eight she was also trained in tantojutsu and marksmanship. Despite this she actually managed to make casual friends in school, although she never had time to hang out with them after school.
Her Father was barely better than her Mother though. He would smile at her and praise her, but he would always tell her that she needed to keep trying and always seemed to side with her Mother. Perhaps he was just trying to protect his wife’s pride, or maybe he was trying to look out for Shiro’s future, at the time Shiro wasn’t able to consider either of these possibilities. Although she liked her father more than her mother she felt like neither of them could understand her, and began to resent the pressure that was placed on her.
It was during a rainy night when she was twelve and wasn’t allowed to go to a friend’s slumber party because she had training that she exploded. She let out a teary rant before taking off in the rain without waiting for a response. Angry and confused she ran blindly. When she finally ran out of breath she was in front of a flood ditch filled with rushing water. Not having anywhere to go anyways Shiro sat down on the edge and started crying there.
Her Father found her at this place. It was dark, and raining, and the ground was wet. When Shiro panicked and bolted up to run or something she slipped and fell into the raging waters. Without hesitation her father valiantly dived in after her and managed to grab hold of her. After slamming against a wall several times and fighting to keep the two of them above water her father managed to pull them both out.
He injured one of his legs during the incident, however, and that ended his career as a shinobi. After the incident he required a crutch to get around as well. Despite this he never seemed mad or upset about it. It might have been better if he had been angry about it. The guilt she felt and her mother’s passive aggressive comments silenced any resentment she had about her training.
After the incident Shiro redoubled her efforts. Driven by guilt she poured herself into her studies, training, to the point where she suddenly cut off all relations with her friends to devote her time to her studies. By the time she was fourteen she graduated the academy at the top of her class and easily became a genin.
Jutsu List:
Incense Techniques – The clan creates incenses or perfumes through special techniques that can then have various fun effects when exposed to chakra or inhaled by an opponent. These techniques not only function as a medium for subtle genjutsu to be employed but also can be used to drug or subdue enemies. Most scents contain a sedative effect once activated, which makes dispelling genjutsu much more difficult while increasing a ninja’s susceptibility to it. All of the products held by the Tsubaki clan are harmless until activated by their unique chakra.
Meditation Technique, Incense Chakra – This is a unique and well-guarded method of producing special chakra that will activate their techniques. Despite it being unique to their clan it is not a bloodline limit, and can be learned by anyone with the proper training and conditions, although the methods are only known by the Tsubaki clan. It also neutralizes the effects of the scent techniques on the user.
Incense Release, Invisible Lighter – This barely qualified as a jutsu technique lights up an incense by channeling one’s chakra through it. As they burn their smell will spread far faster and further than usual incense.
Incense Release, Slumber – Produces a scent that has a tranquilizer effect on anyone nearby. It also acts for a dream manipulation genjutsu, allowing the user to manipulate a person’s dreams while they are under.
Incense Release, Invigoration – Awakens those under the effects of slumber as well as giving any who smell it a boost in energy and making them more alert and aware. It can be used with a Limit Release Genjutsu, which can temporarily loosen or lift the body’s limiters while suppressing pain and fatigue. Overuse of this is now recommended.
Incense Release, Slow – This incense affects the brain’s perception of time, causing anyone who is caught by this to become disoriented and have gaps in their perceptions. The genjutsu associated with this one accentuates it by allowing the user to shut off an enemy’s senses and perception of time. Because of its disorienting nature it is somewhat more difficult to stop than other genjutsu.
Incense Release, Truth – Much like one would expect this incense works something like a truth serum, but tends to make a person tell you more than you would usually want to know. In fact a person under the effects of this scent becomes very talkative about everything; even if they will honestly answer any question asked they will also tend to talk one’s ear off.
Incense Release, Sensual – Essentially it makes a person who smells it feel affection or love towards everyone around them, sometimes very intensely. To the point that even most trained ninja would betray their country just to protect a person, while also giving them a pleasant feeling. It also makes a person more suggestible. A special genjutsu allows for this love to be honed in on certain people while excluding others.
Incense Release, Suppression – A special scent that hinders the body’s ability to mold and manipulate chakra, hampering most ninja’s techniques. It also slows down the body, making most ninja feel sluggish and tiring out quickly. This incense possesses little smell, so most people won’t have a good grasp of what is going on until it is too late.
Perfume Release – Perfumes are scents that are worn by the user and near constantly activated. They function much like incense but last longer and are usually more passive than active. Only one scent can be activated at a time, and when the user wants to switch they must ‘burn off’ the old perfume with a burst of purple chakra.
Perfume Release, Hidden – Anyone who smells this will become less aware of their surroundings and have a subtle genjutsu placed on them that dissuades them from noticing whoever is wearing the perfume. This perfume can be used with the not so subtle Self Erasure Genjutsu which will briefly make the target unable to think about or recognize the presence of the user, but aside from a moment of brief confusion this genjutsu is pretty easy to detect and dispel.
Perfume Release, Attraction – This perfume is a more focused version of sensual, making the wearer seem more appealing and attractive. It also makes both males and females deeply aroused and vulnerable. It is supposed to be used for infiltrations and assassinations involving seduction, although some have used it for more…shallow endeavors.
Perfume Release, Strength – Makes the user seem stronger than they really are, to the point of being intimidating or awe inspiring for no logical reason. This scent makes others more cautious around the user, as well as drawing their attention to the wearer to the point that they might drop their guard around others. This perfume can also cause problems with those who lean more towards the fight side of the fight or flight response though.
Perfume Release, Harmless – Makes the user seem harmless or non-threatening, almost to the point of being ignored. Although not quite as strong as hidden it makes the user seem unremarkable and erases any concerns or sense of danger someone might have around them. The wearer becomes a background character to anyone who smells it.
Genjutsu Dream Manipulation – Can only be used with the incense slumber, it allows for the user to witness and manipulate the target’s dreams while the incense is burning. Because the person is dreaming this technique is hard to escape from.
Genjutsu Limit Release – Can only be used with the incense invigorate, it allows for the user to briefly unlock the limiters on the target’s body as well as suppress pain and fatigue. The user will be able to fight harder and faster than usual, however this also places a lot of strain on the body that will be felt afterwards. It is also not good for the body in the long run as it places a lot of undue stress on the body.
Genjutsu Time Theft – Can only be used with the incense slow, it allows for the user to force the target into a ‘blank’ state where they can no longer perceive anything for about up to roughly two minutes. This requires a great deal of concentration(to the point of being unable to move), and the user will be unable to focus on anything else while this is going on, if their concentration is broken even slightly then the person will snap back to the still disorienting state of Slow. Although the recovery time differs from person to person the average user (Shiro included) will have to rest for at least five minutes before attempting this technique again, providing that they are in good condition and have a quiet place to recuperate.
Genjutsu Love Shift – Can only be used with the incense sensual, it allows for the affection that is made by sensual to be directed at only who the user wants it to be directed at.
Genjutsu Self Erasure – Can only be used with perfume hidden, it causes a brief and blunt point where a person is unable to think about or acknowledge the user’s presence. While it can be used on several people at once it can only be used on people who are focused on said person despite the effects of hidden, and even without dispelling it the technique will only last for a few moments. During these moments the person will forget about her and be unable to ‘recognize’ that she is there, similar to not seeing something in plain sight. This technique can also be removed by shock, pain and self-preservation though, so attacking a person suddenly would likely jar them out of it, as would intense pain or sudden loud noises. It is usually used as a means of escape.
Extract Release, Jinchuriki – A special scent that, when inhaled, causes the tailed beast inside a Jinchuriki to ‘fall asleep’ as well as making the Jinchuriki tired. It has an extreme calming effect on the Jinchuriki that, after a few minutes of exposure, will probably make them pass out like they were hit with a tranquilizer dart. More immediate though is the fact that they will be unable to draw on the chakra or abilities of their tailed beasts. The extract, although having a powerful smell, must be brought up fairly close to the Jinchuriki for it to have effect.

Other Info(Anything about your character that you deem noteworthy.): Her personality tends to be formal and dismissive most of the time, but she is also a skilled actress and has been trained to tailor her personality and appearance as needed. Her fighting style relies on this rather than on open battle so she usually tends to try and make others do her dirty work while staying back in a supportive role, occasionally setting up a trap to finish off the enemy. Despite her attitude she is driven to become a successful shinobi and make everyone acknowledge her family, although not so much that she would kill a person. She can also be extremely haughty and petty when provoked.
