Zac Bennett was rereading the paper on his clipboard over and over. He wanted to memorize the campers names, though some of them were really strange. Some of them he's never even heard of like Ephesian (he kept thinking of the word equestrian) and Azure.
~
Riley sat in the back of her aunt's tiny sports car. When they stopped at the front of the camp, she turned around to look her niece in the eye. It was a look of pity that made Riley feel disgusted. "Your mom loves you, you know. If you didn't give her such a bad time, you wouldn't have had to come here."
Riley grabbed her suit case and looked at the reflection of her eyes in the car's mirror. "Screw you." she said. She got out and slammed the car door before walking briskly up the path.

Katheryn looked out her window and sighed. It had been a really short and quiet ride, and she just wanted to get to the camp so she could meet people like her. People with disorders. People with problems, be it physically or mentally, problems of all sorts in the same place. Anyways, she was fully aware she had Bipolar II, though her parents just kept it a secret from her. Why wouldn't she know? I mean, she had full access to the internet. She was just browsing when she found out about her Hypomanic Episodes. I mean, it was just as it felt. Lack of sleep, more socialable, everything. Her parents love her, it's just that they can't handle the Hypomanic Episodes. At least, that's what she thinks.

Now, the car was parked. She took her suitcase and looked at her father in the driver seat for about two seconds before she walked off. Somewhere next to her, she saw another girl.

"Screw you." The other girl said. It was barely audible, but she could figure it out. She saw the other girl walking up the path, and she did so as well, very calmly.

Vindle was in the backseat of the car, which was being driven by the one and only adult who was kind to him back in the town.
"Ye know, it ain't that hard to follow them rules. I believe ye meant well, but maybe someday ya'll be able to come back to the town." the man said, as he parked.
"I don't wanna go back to that place again. Sorry, this is where I get off the crazy train." Vindle said, getting out of the car.
"Ah, what a pity. If I'm allowed to, I'll come see ya sometimes." the man said.
"I hope so, but I doubt it. Thanks for being there for me all these years." Vindle said.
The man nodded; "You take care'a yerself now." he said, driving away.

Vindle waved as the car rode into the distance. The only friend he had made; a 70 year old man. Turning around to face the camp, he had a big smile on his face.
"Yeah... off of this crazy train at last." he said, walking up the path.

Chloe's grandma pulled up in her blue toyota. She stopped. "Hey, CloeBell, I love you, you just need help. This place can help you." Her grandma said. "Thanks gram, I love you too."
~~~~~
Cole's dada pulled up to the camp. "Get out, come back when your clean." He said. Cole opened the door. "Fuck you too dad." Cole gotnout and went to the second male cabin.
Effy stared out the window of her father's Mercedes, her music drowning out the sound of her father's monotone voice. She was almost excited for this place, anything that got her away from her parents was a "blessing" in her eyes. Her father pulled to a stop as he leaned towards her pulling out one of her earbuds; his wrinkles were etched with a stern look of concern, "This is for your own good, Ephesian. Please don't screw this up." he said as if pleading with her.
Effy simply patted his knee with a patronizing smile before leaning in the back to grab her bags. With another quick smile, she was out of the car and up the path.
Her mother gave a sigh. "You know, you're old enough to know that smoking... That stuff is bad."
Alex leaned further into the window, and gazed into both of their eyes. She couldn't help but feel the deep pain, that, just like that, they didn't want to bring her little sister along. A grin came onto her face. "I know, right? Just like, I dunno. Everything is bad? My religion. Sex. Music taste. Habits."
"That's not what we meant-"
She rolled her eyes at that. Every since she was eleven they had told her to change herself, to become a better person. "Guess what you did, mom? You stuck your hand up my ass and took it out. Well guess what I hope happens? I hope both of you go to hell for masturbating with my feces. Pricks. I was almost gone."
She gripped her suitcase harder, and made sure he backpack didn't fall off. It probably didn't help her much to use profanity, but, getting back at her parents felt good. In a bad, and a good way. Bad: She still had to go to the camp, plus, they'd probably say she went crazy and the court would say she was unfit to petition. Again. Good: They deserved it. All of it.
She saw another person - no - some other people walking up some path. She followed, but walked a bit awkwardly with the pack of traveling tissues in her pocket.
Riley noticed other people getting out of their cars and sighed. Hope this shit hole isn't crowded, she thought.
~
Zac pushed up his glasses and examined the teenagers who've shown up so far. The first two girls who arrived were the first to reach where he was. He smiled, though he knew by past experiences they were probably miserable. "Welcome to Camp Improve. Names?"
"Riley Belle." one of them mumbled.
Effy plastered on her most cheerful smile, her vibrant green eyes seeming the sparkle with mischievousness. "Ephesian Winters, but it would be much simpler if you called me Effy." she said as she took in the people around her. They looked as miserable as she felt, not that she expected these people to be rays of sunshine.
Watching all the others teens come up the path, Luna was seated indian style on the grass. (too early.. as usual) She sighed and decided to keep her eyes down towards the pages she read over and over again, hoping the other teens would not make contact with her.
Vindle reached the camp, seeing the counselor. He walked up to him. Wow, everyone here looks miserable. I may have just switched to another crazy train. he thought. Sighing at the thought of just entering a new crazy life, he hoped the rules here weren't as strict.
Camp Improve.
Camp Im-fucking-prove.
That's actually the laziest name that she's ever heard for a camp. Sure, Camp Half-Blood was pretty shitty, but not fucking Camp IMPROVE. I mean, good lord. That just made her cringe so fucking hard mentally. "Riley Belle." Said the girl next to him. Well, that sounded like a good name. She looked like a highly angry and rebellious person though. And kinda like a douchebag.
"Katheryn Villareal."
"Riley, you're in Cabin 3. Effy, you're in 5." Zac said this cheerfully, hoping maybe the happiness could rub off on them. Maybe. He pointed behind him. "Cabins are just a little ways back there and numbered."
~
"Great." Riley mumbled, and began walking in said direction.
On the way towards the camp, Karen's parents kept trying to persuade Karen they were sending her here for her own good. She stared at the camp sign as it was coming closer, ignoring her parents. As soon as her parents parked in front of the entrance, she quickly grabbed her bags and stepped out of the car. "You can leave now" she said in a soft voice. While she was closing the door her parents kept calling her name, trying to get her attention. Turning around she walked up the path, noticing a few campers were already there.
Vikki was taking out her last batch of brownies to give to the kids. Gleaming at how perfect the brownies came out, she quickly placed them on a platter and set it down. Taking off her apron and retying her hair, she picked it back up and headed out the door. From afar, it seemed that a couple of them had arrived.
"Alex Garey, dude." She hoped the man didn't notice the faint red lines her eyes seemed to give off, and, that they seemed fairly large. But then again, this was the man that gave the camp a generic name like 'Camp Improve'. "Glad to be at this camp." The last sentence was cringe worthy.
What a fucking backwasher. She thought. Wonder if his kids are like him. But I'm guessing he doesn't have any... Has to be a virg.
"Vindle Zaden." Vindle said. Well, his tone of voice was definitely better than the other kid's. Maybe going back to follow the town rules was better than hanging out with these gangster like kids? No, no, he couldn't give in the the town rules, not in a million years.
"Katheryn, you're in 3 with Riley. And Alex, you're in cabin 5 with Effy!" When Zac looked up from his clipboard and saw Alex's eyes, the smile fell from his face. Shit, he thought. He then started smiling again, as if it never happened. Gotta tell Sal about that kid, he thought grimly.
Allen and Azure sat quietly in the back of their parents car. Allen was glaring out the windows while Azure was staring at her lap and fiddling with her skirt. They soon pulled up to the camp and parked. "You know this is for your own good-" Before their mother could get all the words out Allen was out of the car and slamming the door shut. Azure followed, pausing when her mother laid a hand on her arm. "Take care of him." Azure gave her a weak smile, nodded and then joined her twin where he was getting their luggage out of the car. "Come on Azzy, it'll be ok." He told her with a small smile. She nodded and together they walked over to where the other kids were gathering. Allen and Azure Romman." He grumbled to the counselor.
Zac looked from Alex to Vindle. "Vindle, you're in 4. By the way, kids, one of the councilors has a special treat for you." he said, thinking about Vikki's brownies.
She's with the douchebag.
She's with the fucking douchebag. The worst thing to happen. Literally, the worst. She couldn't believe it. Her luck had run out. Fuck. Really, what the fuck, God. Why do you do this to me. Do I deserve this?
Probably.
Her face didn't seem surprised, but the rest of her did. She sighed before walking inside of the camp.
Effy turned to face Alex, her false smile turning into one of amusement and interest. I seem to have found my ray of sunshine she thought. "Care to join me on my journey to our cabin?" she asked Alex as she repositioned her bags.
