So... been playing New Vegas the last couple days...And I wanna know how the fuck Bethesda gets away with EVERY one of their games being so full of bugs, glitches and points where it just completely dies. I have at LEAST 30hrs on this save... But the game is only going to register 24 If I'm lucky and that save doesn't cause me to crash trying to leave the bunker... If I'm UNlucky it'll be registering 14 hours and I'm gonna end up dropping from level 17 clear down to 13, since the last manual save I did was inside the BoS bunker which I can't seem to fucking leave because the game crashes every time I try... I was gonna try to make a joke about trying to get this RP to seem "More legit" by having it crash every few hours but I'm too pissed off to be funny...

You must be angry all the time then!

Weird how that only happens on the PC version and not the Console i get the same problem btw.I think they only do some of the game breaking bugs but not the ones that freezes or yes crashes the game me personally i think it is lazy programming trying to not fix something that could drive people away form the game. The console version the one i also have has almost no crashing and freezing when i was playing for like 3 hours or so.But their is always mods and stuff to fix the bugs and crashes which i have and the games works pretty well.

I played the console version a fair bit before I got a semi-decent PC up and running and, looking back, I think you might be right. I was going to disagree with you and say the console version was a pile of ass but in hindsight, I can only really recall a handful of freezes or game-breaking clipping; still more than I'd like mind you but not as much as I first thought.

I would agree with you also but i think that X-box or rather Microsoft or rather who ever fixes it on the consoles has fixed more problems then Besthsda or Steam on the PC and my only gripe with the PC version is the laziness of the not fixing game breaking bugs on the PC version.

Well we're going with the presumption that our Courier made basically moral choices, so~

1. Mr. House canonically has the Courier blow the hell out of the bunker at Hidden Valley, destroying the last vestige of the Brotherhood's Presence in New Vegas.

2. Considering the SNAFU with Veronica, blowing up the Bunker does not necessarily preclude the possibility the Courier went there either independently or with Veronica before House instructed them to get their boom on.

3. Elder McNamara ultimately had good reasons for sending out the Survey Teams and maintaining the Lockdown, but at no point in the game is there a way to get him to reveal what that reason is or to lift the Lockdown prior to recording the survey Holotapes.

4. The Courier, thus, may or may not have ousted McNarmara and assisted Hardin in becoming Elder. This is the logical choice if one presumes the Courier had only retrieved one holotape before arriving.

5. Hardin instructs the Courier to murder the hell out of the VanGraffs.

6. The VanGraffs are assholes and everybody hates them. My memory is faintly fuzzy on the matter but I believe you actually gain karma for killing them all.

7. Regardless of the outcome, the Courier still kills everyone in the Hidden Valley Bunker.

So whether the Silver Rush is up and running is up to debate,

No, just most of the time.

I don't know HOW it could be any worse and still be playable... I'm so damn sick of the crashes and constant freezing... within the first half hour of turning it on this morning I had crashed twice... something about the BoS bunker was making my X-box shit out.

Thankfully the issue from earlier was resolved without losing ten hours of gameplay.

When I went to bed last night I did a manual save in the bunker, but when I started playing I turned in the weapon for "I could make you care" then walked out.. once I got outside I realized "Oh... I forgot to check to terminals for "Still in the dark" and went back inside... it was when I went to leave after that that it crashed, I then reloaded the auto save and it crashed at the same point as well, but when I loaded the manual save from the night before it worked fine.

Yeah within a 50-100 years most of the federal government's ammunition reserves would be spent, the stockpiles that we have right now. However in the situation of Fallout, ammo was being produced at unimaginably high rates.During WW2, the US produced 12 billion rounds of ammunition per year, this is just various small arms calibers, not anything else.To compare, the US Army purchases 1.8 billions rounds of ammo per year and used 70 million rounds of a year in Iraq per year as well.If we go by current stock, in our world, then yes the ammunition runs dry within 50-100 years (Seeing that combat wouldn't be that intense, and that it would take a while for everyone to get it all) However, even 1 year of ammunition production at WW2 levels, we get enough ammunition, which should last almost years if used at the levels they are in Iraq. Which feel more correct to use than WW2's numbers since battles rarely even go beyond a few thousand.Ammunition, if you end the world during WW2 production levels, is going to be insanely common even after just two or three years of production, and if it was the only ammo around.

Use itself wouldn't be the only factor in how many rounds are left around either. You got to take into consideration the environment their in. I wouldn't doubt that over time the powder or the casing of the bullets would deteriorate over time leading to a situation where they could misfire or are inoperable. You can only make matters worse by storing them inappropriately. Moisture can deteriorate the casing or even the lubrication between it and the bullet itself.

You may also get a lot of people who aren't trained to use guns as the US Military is. Even consideration to "Spray and pray" tactics are given then the number of rounds that would hit a target raises even higher than they do already.

This is on top of military stockpiles no doubt being in places that would have been nuked in the exchange and damaging them further, trapping them under heavy rubble, or just making the conditions in retrieving them all around unfriendly to the lay scavenger.

I lump them with the NCR since they're one of the major brands that started there and spread out.

I've learned to manually save every time I do something serious or travel very far in Bethesda games. Keep at least a few save games at all times, at it shouldn't be a problem.

Bethesda is Notorious in all honesty for it's bugs. It's what is holding it down from becoming a great game studio in all respects (Look at Skyrim for PS3 , the amount of bugs on Fallout NV , the Glitch in Fallout 3 that you can progress thru the quest without doing some missons etc)

That's why you convert to PC Master Race and into modding.

There's enough unofficial patches you can fix many issues. And at least on one for New Vegas adds some shit that was in the code, but left out. Or was mentioned that you should have/be able to make in dialog but couldn't.

I agree if they can get their shit together and fix the game breakers then yes they would be better then Steam. But i don't think that will happen and Fallout 4 would be fulled with bugs.

Big hint: Steam is the publication platform. Valve is the development studio that owns and publishes other's titles through Steam. Steam is not a company. Steam is a tool.

And Gaben is all too godly anyways. By his Will, Valve will always be "Your Cat" in the chart of studios-as-RL-friends.

This

Steam is just a platform really, most game companies use it to boost sales revenues due to the wider PC audience on Steam now-a-days

Hey guys. Still here, still reading. Just want you to know I'm tailgating/going to a concert tomorrow so I'll be gone ALL day. Might check in to answer PMs/OOCs at some point tomorrow, but I won't be posting, which is fine since we're waiting to take off.

My next post, once the team is in the H&H, will end with us getting on the train, and us rolling out of the factory. So we'll be on the road to New Reno real soon. Be prepared.
