Personality : Lacey is intelligent coupled with a sense of humility which comes from a proper upbringing and previous schooling. Loyal to her friends and unflinching in her need to use good manners Lacey is sometimes trying to act older than she is.
A lover of facts she can sometimes come across as a know it all but she is learning to keep it to herself though with some difficulty. Also stemming from her love of facts is a need to always tell the truth which can also be annoying when adults learn to question her on any incidents she may have knowledge of or have witnessed.
Her tomboy habits can surprise any that don't know her when they are first exposed to it.

Bio : Born to muggle parents two months prematurely Lacey was not expected to live. Kept in an Incubator for over 6 weeks she survived only to have lost her parents who were killed in a traffic accident as they were driving to the hospital two weeks earlier.
Put up for adoption when she was five months old where she was adopted by the Roberts who were an older couple both in their forties and Childless. One a muggle doctor of Internal Medicine an the other a witch who owned a large farm just outside of Bangor Maine.
Raised in a mixed house Lacey was a contented child who was used to seeing magic an muggle tech side by side. Her adopted parents showed her great love and never pressured her to be anything more than she wanted to be.
When she was four years old Lacey attended Andrew's private school in Bangor Maine till one day when she was nine years old while being bullied by several girls a magical incident occurred. In an effort to protect Lacey from detection by muggles her parents removed her from the school and began home schooling her till she was eligible to attend Salem Academy.

Strengths : Intelligent and well read she is a source of all types of information.
Mathematically inclined Lacey loves solving complex equations as quiet entertainment which also includes puzzles of Arithmancy
Athletic , Lacey loves distance running and hopes to compete in marathons when she's older
Potions, as a fan of organic chemistry and muggle science Lacey's approach to the subject is based on the principals of experimentation and proper laboratory work. (I.E. She keeps copious and detailed notes.)
Speed reading, she is able to consume huge volumes and tomes in less time than most people her age due to sills she learned at her previous muggle schooling
Singing, Lacey has a lovely voice

Weaknesses :
Curiosity killed the cat an if she's not careful Lacey may suffer the same fate because she can't stand a locked door, a closed box or an unanswered question.
Neat Freak, she so dislikes disorder that she must set all to right or she has trouble concentrating.
Always truthful she seems like a tattle tale though she doesn't seek to spill the beans on anyone unless asked to do so.
Herbology, Lacey is one of those people born with a brown thumb.
Fear of failure Lacey can be thrown off balance by any perceived or real failure (When she believes she'll fail or has failed Lacey will become obsessed by a need to prove she can do better and to have her sucess recognized by an authority figure)

Another suggestion out of the ol' hat, but for characters having a conversation together and when small collabs on posts take place, does anyone use TitanPad to make a post. Just PM the link between who's writing to keep from cluttering the IC with 20 posts from two characters talking back and forth.

Mhm, Titanpad is glorious. By the way, Betel, I think I've figured out what the difference between Ghoul Studies and DADA would be.

Take a boggart, for example:

In Ghoul Studies, you learn about how the Boggart feeds, mates, etc etc, why it turns into something we fear, but in DADA you learn the Riddikulus spell to vanquish it.

Ghoul Studies is all about learning what the creature does when you're not threatening it, DADA is all about how to threaten it.

Perfect description! I'm good with that. And as far as creating NPCs, that was my main idea for the Gladium prefect. Some rule-enforcing threat in the halls when they wander at night.

Also! Without giving away too much, Barney's first lesson could be a two parter on voodoo and boggarts. Which will work really well with what I have planned so far.

Anywho, I look forward to it. Actually, to take the burden off you, I've been considering NPCs to fill the other slots. As in, one of us makes an NPC for, I don't know, the nurse but it's able to be controlled by everyone so long as we keep to the character?

EG:Name: Helen FlickswitchOccupation: School nurseAppearance: A buxom, rounded woman in her late sixties, with grey hair and thick spectacles that shrink her cold, dark green eyes. Her thin lips are always pressed into a scowl, and she wears a grey pinafore usually with odd stains on it. Personality: Strict and rough, Helen likes to believe that the best way to stop a student from getting hurt is to hurt them more in the healing process. She's an admirable nurse, knowing a cure for almost everything, but unfortunately lacks the subtlety and delicate hands required by a healer. At least she gives you some sweets afterwards and time to recover from the recovery in the Medical Wing!

Because we have a lot of spaces and not a lot of people, and it'd be a darn shame to start the RP without having a full cast at least.

Let's see... I live in New York so my time zone would be EST (-0500). Also, I was planning on doing something like that with many, if not all, of the other staff positions. I had mentioned it somewhere stating that if someone new came along and wanted to take that position, I'd simply have something happen where the other person left and the new person was their replacement. I indeed asked for help with this and it would be amazing if I received it. :)

Personality: An enigmatic woman, Evelyn often comes across as ominous. Yet, despite her haunting air, she is actually quite gentle. Warm and kind, she cares deeply about her students and staff. Many believe her daunting facade arises from the fact that she often shows few emotions. Though, when she does, you're either terrified or overjoyed.
Bio: Evelyn was an unplanned child between her two magical parents who, at the time, were just lovers. Her parents, marrying only for their child, were hardly in love. It was their shared lust for knowledge that kept them together. However, it was the dark arts that interested them the most. Curses and forbidden magics is what consumed their lives. Unfortunately, the more they studied, the further removed from reality they became until finally they were shadows of their original selves. When Evelyn was 15 her parents had finally gone mad and attacked her when she returned from school. Barely keeping her parents spells at bay, they finally turned on each other. By the end of the night, the two had managed to kill one another, leaving Evelyn without parents.

After her parents murdered each other, Evelyn stayed with her Transfiguration professor, a sickly woman named Casey Barr, and her muggle husband, Morgan Barr. Until then, Evelyn hadn't had the strongest of grades. Her parents would reprimand her for doing poorly but it never changed anything. She simply didn't enjoy having to perform magic just to please her professors. However, she discovered her true love for magic while living with the Barrs. They had made magic more than just a task or a grade, they made it their way of life. More importantly, they made it fun. Evelyn not only found herself enjoying her classes more but she even began to make friends. It was the first time Evelyn really enjoyed being alive.

As Evelyn became a woman, she decided to follow in the Barr's footsteps and become a professor at the Salem Academy of Magical Arts. When she did, she chose to teach Transfiguration in light of Casey Barr and despite her exceptional skill in the defense against the dark arts thanks to her parents. Evelyn's skill, as well as unique personality, won her the favor of much of the staff. Her students feared her, but in a thrilling way that kept them wanting more.

By now, Casey Barr was the deputy headmistress. However, her illness was finally getting the best of her so she stepped down. The headmaster at the time, Sidney Bradford, selected Evelyn to be the new headmistress. Several people were upset, saying he picked her only because she was so close to Mrs. Barr. While this may have been a factor, Sydney recognized Evelyn's potential. Giving her the position would only expedite her growth, turning her into one of the best Witches Salem had ever seen. It wasn't long until everyone knew how right he was. Fifteen years later, Sidney retired, leaving Evelyn as the new Headmistress of Salem.

Evelyn was just as unsure about her being chosen for Deputy Headmistress as anyone else. However, wanting to honor Casey's name, she did her duty as best as she could. In fact, she had never struggled so hard with her workload in her life. At first, she spent most of her energy assisting Sydney whenever he needed. Though, she found herself worn out and unable to teach as well as she once did. When she finally became aware of this, she directed her energy toward her classes, trying to make up for her previous shortcomings. However, this lead to her being unable to perform the tasks presented to her by the headmaster. She struggled to find a balance between the two until finally she couldn't take it anymore. She argued with Sydney saying that she was too young for the position and was upset that he unfairly chose her over many others who would have filled the position perfectly. She went as far to say that she was going to renounce her position until finally Casey Barr calmed her. She explained Sydney's reason for choosing her and told her that it was going to be difficult for her. However, everyone believed in her and knew she was capable.

And so Evelyn tried one more time, steeling herself to the challenges that she faced. She was determined to succeed. She was determined to show that Sidney had made the right choice, to show that the Barr family was an extraordinary one, to show that her parents hadn't scarred her, and most importantly, to show herself that she could do whatever she wanted. In the end, her efforts payed off. Thus, Evelyn is the woman she is today.

Skills:
Strengths- Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, wordless spells, wandless spells, general knowledge of most magical topics.
Weaknesses- Muggle studies (most, if not all, of her time is spent with magical people. Thus, she often forgets to keep up with Muggle Technologies and cultures), History of Magic and Ancient Ruins (While Evelyn understands the importance of knowing the past, she is a very here-and-now type of person and thus leaves these subjects to others), Divination (Evelyn isn't even sure how useful this subject is), and Flying (Flying is a big no for Evelyn... its just not her fancy).

Personality: Quick with a joke, Mat is quite the lively person to be around. He enjoys social interaction and loves being the center of attention. While Mat likes to think of himself as a kind person, jokes always have someone at the butt end. Mat also particularly enjoys making Divination readings into a spectacle for entertainment.
House: Gladium
Bio: Born to two muggles, Mat was completely unaware of the magical world. As a boy Mat found himself interested in magic tricks, palm readings, dream interpretation, tarot cards, and other kinds of fortune telling. Although he never thought any of it was actually real, he studied it intensely and eventually began to have a knack for it. When his parents got the invitation for Mat to join the Salem Academy, they were skeptical. They showed it to Mat and they all agreed it was a con and thus discarded the invitation. When they got another, they thought they were being pranked. Mat was the first to believe it was real but his parents, the logical Muggles they were, remained unconvinced. Finally, as the letters poured through their letterbox, they were finally convinced.

Mat was utterly stunned when he saw the school. It was something out of a fantasy. The magics he had been learning were nothing compared to the feats that the wizards at the school could perform. Mat spent his first year with his jaw officially plastered to the ground. However, as the years went on, he became more accustomed to the lifestyle. Though, even with all new doors opening for him, Mat still remained interested in Divination above all else. In fact, Mat learned that he had such accurate readings from the imprecise methods he had previously learned was because he was born with a natural talent for being a Seer. Although Mat isn't very serious about having this gift, his parents are quite proud of him.

Skills: Strengths- Divination, Astronomy, Transfiguration, Flying, Muggle Studies (Being raised by two Muggles makes this topic much easier).

Also, those apps took longer than I expected... I'm going to take a short break. I need to make a few NPCs for the staff (they'd look similar to what Stitches threw together). If I can finish them tonight and then work on an IC I can get this started. However, I have plans to go out tonight... so I'm not sure how far I'll get. =S

I was going to work on the Gladium Prefect and the Gamekeeper/Keeper of the Keys. Maybe some others :)

Probably just NPCs unless I or anyone else likes them enough to take them on full time

(Pg 4 makes me sad...) I appologize for not getting the NPCs done tonight (Plans were moved up and I didnt have as much time as I thought I would have). However, I have quite a long drive tomorrow (5-7 hours). Ill try to get the IC by then, , even with the npcs (at least for now).
