If nobody made mention of decisions that go off the rails of reality, the eastern seaboard would be swarming with ships flying the Union Jack. I don't like having to complain, but it is absolutely necessary for to mention the infeasibility of some of the actions taken by particular players.

Outcast is the only one who can determine what should and should not happen in this game, so I'm not sure why you're complaining so much. Presumably, he approved of the blockade, the revolt against the queen, the Sino-Japanese alliance, and, most recently, China's intervention in the war. If you don't like it, I imagine you could just bring it up with him in private, telling him that you disagree with the course that this game is taking, or, alternatively, not play. Nobody is forcing you to play a game with Pasta Sentient and MagnificentOne.

somebody is getting a little defensive.

That's what happens when somebody puts everything you do under a microscope and complains at every given opportunity. Pasta is a good roleplayer and a cool guy, but just about anyone is going to get mad if somebody is constantly criticizing their actions.

Can we seriously for once go at least a few pages without having people get so goddamn catty at each other? Stop acting like a bunch of bitches. Shit happens, shit changes. We gotta live with it and move the fuck on.

Point out problems all you want. It's when you take apart every little thing and rake someone over the coals about it is when they get their back against the wall and get mean and you get meaner in return. Be civil and respectful or otherwise that you flying off the rails starts a negative attitude feedback loop with the rest of the RP.

@Nexerus

Leaving the realm of reality means really crazy stuff happening like AK-47s suddenly being invented or dragons falling from the sky.

None of what has happened in this RP has been outside the realm of reality. It's been kinda crazy or weird, but it has never left the realm of reality.

You are not asking for realistic decisions. You are asking for insanely detailed decisions. You are asking players to know details about Nations that only someone who has studied intensely about this time period would know. People have different interests. People have different time schedules. Don't expect people to enjoy these details as much as you do or berate them for not knowing it.

I wouldn't care if you made some of your statements in a helpful manner, but your constant arrogance makes any of your advice moot. You are not saying these things to help other players learn/be better, rather you are saying them in a demeaning manner to make yourself feel better about your own intelligence/knowledge.

So please, learn how to treat people with respect to contribute to a better experience for everyone involved rather than getting your rocks off nitpicking every single detail. That's all I'm going to say on the matter from here on out.

^ It isn't unreasonable to expect the players controlling China and Japan to know that the two countries aren't exactly the best of pals.

It isn't a matter of me 'not liking it', it's a matter of it contributing to the absolute separation of this roleplay from anything having to do with reality. The fact that the decisions made aren't to my benefit is incidental. If Prussia decided to found the Thule Society in 1864 and form the Third Reich more than half a century early, I'd be calling out that, too.

Could you please direct me to where I've "taken apart every little thing and raked someone over the coals about it"? I genuinely apologize if it seems like I've done that, but I really do just want to keep the roleplay on a level of realism that could at least be called sane.

The Queen VIctoria thing? It's been a month, dude. You still bring it up with passive-aggressive snide comments. Seriously, Outcast has warned you twice already. What about "chill the fuck out" don't you understand?

Thorgili, why do you keep saying "faggotist"? What are you even talking about? And no, I wouldn't consider you beginning fascism in 1864 to be realistic.

Obviously this is just creating a scene, so I'm done. Before everyone freaked out, all that I said was that I don't think an alliance between China and Japan is a realistic scenario.

... wow you people dont know latin... fascism came from the word fasces which was a bundle of sticks (aka faggot) the first reference explaining the fascist system was a analology about how a people while a individual could be easily broken but when united (aka tied together into a bundle) it is much harder to break.

Again, the problem isn't that you're saying it but how you're saying it. I understand the need for realism, but the thread devolving into arguments and semantics every few pages kills the fun, at least for me. Just remember, and this goes for me too, it's just a game and we're all trying to have fun even if fun doesn't exactly mean the same to everyone.

Well, you don't have to use 'faggot'. It's rude to some people, you could of just use fasces.

While I did know about the whole fasces/fascism connection, I think the problem is that that usage of faggot (a bundle of sticks) has fallen out of use in everyday English (or at least I don't use it in that way, or any way for a matter of fact).

Edit:

This is a fasces for those who don't know.

I used faggot because this is 1864 so the use of faggot is still a bundle of sticks. the whole thing was meant as a pun but it fell through obviously. I still use it ( as well as like everyone i know to describe smokes)
