I imagine if there were any Vaults in the Deep South at least one would experiment in looking into the conditions needed to revive Confederacy conditions. Ranging from the subtle to the stereotypical. It seems like something that would be written into the game.

Yes, they like to put stereotypical stuff in the game.
I'm thinking more "Tea Party" and less "Confederate" though. The Wasteland's pretty Libertarian in many places, so I figured it'd work here too.
With that, farms everywhere, and a Fundamentalist Baptist Church I figured I had enough stereotypes.

Let's not forget the slave trade.

If you wanted to expand the new Southern economy one may make Naw'leans a slave port again. Can't imagine any impressive frigates anymore, but you could have smaller sailing barques made of scrap going out to the islands to capture slaves.

There's plenty of pontoon boats, bass boats, and house boats around, so it wouldn't be too hard.

If you wanted to go the slave route, it'd make sense to go to some of the islands off the coast. Roanoke and the others wouldn't be heavily hit, and may have plenty of survivors. You could also just grab swamp folk from around the Okefenokee swamp. Stronger than normal, they'd basically be beasts of burden. Maybe even grab a few from Cherokee, NC if you really want to get racist.
And of course, grab any ghouls you can find and any super mutant you think you can tame. They'd be needed for dealing with anything radioactive you found, and cleaning the soil.

TheUnknowable said I had them rebuild the Nuka-cola plant, the botanical gardens (for mutation-free plants), a mega-church, a junkyard, the Atlanta Underground, an orchard and a vineyard. I was going to have the Enclave survivors in the area capture an old vault, fix it up, then lock themselves in so that they can protect themselves from the uncivilized wastelanders while they repopulate. All except the Enclave trade extensively with each other. A vault city would work well. I need someone to make high-grade stuff.

I think it'd be funny if the Southern Branch of the Enclave is the only regional group capable of building and maintaining peaceful relationships with the Altlanta Vault-City citizens, partially because of how shit everything is literally everywhere else in the south.

Holy shit, Okefenokee would be a fucking no man's land, I imagine an Okefenokee mutant would be worth a lot on the slave trade, but you'd need entire teams of men to capture one, and even then you couldn't tame one. Fucking Yao gui men and shit.

Savannah would be a good place for Georgia confederate slaver scum too.
Also, boats makes me thing of something, there would only be a few places in the American south to have large plantations, what if a "new triangular" trade has started? Between Savannah, the Gulf coast slaving cities, and new found fruit and resource plantations in the Caribbean sans Cuba and Puerto Rico?

(Cuba would've launched a final suicide attack on the US and Puerto Rico when shit went down, US would've curb stomped Cuba, making it a scorched island probably composed entirely of ghouls, in Puerto Rico only the satellite and San Juan would've been hit, but decades of being cut off from the US would make it into an anarchistic island of Spanglish speaking tribals)

I can think of two locations; Richmond, Virginia and Montgomery, Alabama?

Enclave mind control tech, like they used on Deathclaws in FO3. As they'd be the only ones that could control them, maybe they could have a few in Atlanta.

Atlanta could be one of the few bastions of civilization left in the area. Savanna could be a port city trading in everything from food, to slaves, to drugs.

Shit, they would be able to do something like that. Deathclaws and Wanamingos are government creations made for war, so the Okefenokee mutants were made at Fort Benning pre-war and the Atlanta Enclave just keeps them in the swamp, as something like a pen? And they're still under control, despite the fact that they'd be actively mutating due to the swamp probably absorbing fallout like a sponge.

Half ghouls, half the incredible hulk (stupid and strong, with anger problems which make them stronger). They could feed on radiation like ghouls to heal themselves.

Hey, when you get a moment, here's my character sheet, if you'd like to review it. Figured I'd go ahead and link it to you for the sake of ease.

You kill their Queen.

This is why Hive Minds with a single point of weakness are stupid ideas.

And by the end of Lonesome Road I'm pretty sure it's well heavily implied that the Courier stomped out/crippled everything out there enough they won't be bothering the Wasteland any time soon.

Actually it mentioned the tunnelers at the end, pretty much only saying that they didn't fuck with the courier on his/her way out because s/he proved they had a right to be there

Killing the queen doesn't stop the Tunnelers, though. If you talk to Ulysses about them he mentions it's not really a matter of "if" they're going to mess with the rest of the wasteland, but "when." It's impossible to kill them all, at worst the Courier cripples their invasion, but they'll persevere.

They will repopulate.

And they'll spread.

They'll have numbers, and complex underground routes, and strength, and they'll come in full force when they do.

New Vegas will fall-- New Reno will fall-- The Enclave and the Brotherhood, wiped out-- The Bull and the Bear will be subject to the Tunnelers. NO ONE, will be prepared-- they could appear anywhere in the desert RIGHT NOW and sack a city before anyone knew anything. They spread like wildfire and they can tunnel up through anything at anytime and ruin everything. They are the single largest threat to America, and no one even knows it. They've already won the west, they're just waiting to launch the slaughter.

And then, when the west falls, they'll go east.

gg, humanity
