"We won't go quietly, The Legion Tunnelers can count on that."

On a more serious note, if you're still interested in developing some back story for our characters, PM me.

I personally didn't like the Tunnelers.

"Well no matter what you ever do its all going to die."

Thats not really motivation to play, if in the end its all for shit.

Maybe that was the point. The tunnelers represented a nihilistic worldview, one in which every action you take ultimately doesn't matter as, eventually, all will die, and all change wrought will be forgotten.

Maybe the game challenges your ideology, asking if in the face of insurmountable odds, you would still attempt to affect change on your surroundings, or if you'd just give up.

I think the Fallout games excel at morally gray choices. That's part of their charm.

Then again, some of their morality system doesn't work right, like in FO3 where I became super evil form killing everyone in Megaton and taking their stuff before blowing them up instead of just blowing them up.

Morality in FO3 is wonky. Period.

Drugging a guy to convince him he's in love with a woman he isn't in love with and to abandon priesthood is considered a "good" choice.

Or you find out ways to outcrazy the opponent because you don't accept defeat.

If I the game (well, game engine) had the capabilities for me to get a nuke in there and blast their shit in, I'd probably do that.

Also, you get good karma form donating to crazy, nuke worshiping people. That didn't make sense to me.

Mini-nukes? Console command in 100 Security guards?

I think he's talking about it being a part of the vanilla game. Since console commands or mods wouldn't make the Tunneler's destruction canon. Though then again: it doesn't necessarily strike the possibility from canon. We just need another Fallout game in the area - or close enough - to confirm it. Engine capabilities could just as well choke the choices that one can make.

Like how there's no real significant weather in the base game. Either because they couldn't fit it in the engine without severe knock-backs against the consoles, or they didn't have time. You got to mod weather in.

Maybe, however however by the time I got to the tunnelers Lonesome Road was starting to annoy me with how butt-fuckingly hard it was becoming. I just simply began to launch mini nukes a the Tunnelers.

Which didn't kill them right away.

And I cried.

It's really just a matter of having the game see nuke models as landscape objects or something. Engine won't met you interact with those by like, dragging that shit across the world map. Think of them in the swim vein as buildings. Can't pick them up with your drag key like ammo and bodies. Just how it's coded into the engine.

Devving for Arma made me cynical about games...

If you're someone like Bethesda you got to be lazy in areas in order to save for time in testing a feature over and over.

Some studios I guess don't have the luxury of Valve Time and to be loved regardless of delaying everything.

That's why I think postlaunch updates are good. Although I do mods and that's different. I can release a little and end up constantly updating it. Since nobody's paying for it, nobody's bitching about the lack of release content.

Also, game related, what do you guys think?

How long should I wait before just saying "fuck it" and launch the train, with hopes that the movement to New Reno will alert the other players to our progress?
